Active Mad Mage's Tower of Azdrukhal

Izuru
Mentions: saxon saxon Slowpokie Slowpokie Elijay Elijay

Izuru felt relieved the moment he stopped laughing. Laughing itself burnt a lot of energy in addition to flushing out his tear ducts. Any more and he might have needed to worry about a serious case of dehydration. Walking at the back of the group so that he could recover his stamina a bit. The dragonkin was incredibly concerned when the tower itself began to morph and shift around. Originally they had been in a quaint little hallway with six doors. Now they had a single path forward through what presumably was the Mad Mages library. Given that his moniker was the MAD Mage. Izuru wondered if they would be able to find anything useful in there. Hopefully the Mad Mage had some books on otherworldly abominations that he wouldn't mind Izuru taking off his hands. After that the floor shook rather violently and Izuru could only furrow his brow at how the Mad Mage had prepared his place of residence for intrusion. Sighing for a moment given that the path ahead led into even more magic related danger. The dragonkin mage tapped his cane against the ground and did his best to move without allowing the tower to get him down. Once they reached the end of this all, the Mad Mage himself would no doubt appear to challenge them either martially or intellectually.

John listened as Eiru admitted she didn’t know how long the laughing would last. He glanced back at Carmel and Izuru, still laughing to themselves in uncontrollable fits, and sighed. “Uh, yeah… real reassuring. Guess we’ll find out eventually,” he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. He tried not to think about what would happen if the curse didn’t wear off—laughing themselves to death didn’t sound like a great way to go.

When Eiru mentioned the Mad Mage was probably long dead, John tilted his head thoughtfully. “I mean, if he was powerful enough to enchant this whole place, why couldn’t he just prolong his own life with magic or something?” He shrugged. Maybe if he dabbled in necromancy or something, he could definitely do something like that right?

As they climbed to the next level, John took a moment to run his fingers along the vine-like decorations on the walls, admiring the green and gold details. His attention was drawn to the paintings, especially one of Ryken’s royal castle. Was this guy a noble or something perhaps? John thought to himself.

A faint vibration underfoot snapped him out of his thoughts. He paused mid-step, glancing around. “Uh… is it just me, or is the floor shaking a little?” he asked. But before he could say more, Carmel and Izuru’s laughter finally began to taper off. He turned to look at the duo, relief washing over him. “Oh, hey, look at that! It really did stop eventually!” he said with a grin.

Then, just as things seemed to settle, the hallway began to shift. John froze in place, his eyes widening as the walls rearranged themselves like puzzle pieces. The green and gold vines vanished, replaced by dark blue walls painted with silver stars, while the six doors disappeared entirely. At the far end, the room transformed into what looked like an enormous library.

At Eiru’s obvious question, John crossed his arms and answered sarcastically. “Nope, no room change here. Eiru, you sure you didn’t eat any weird fruits lying around that's making you imagine things?” he said, raising an eyebrow at her with a faint smirk.

As two of the others both agreed, the room change happened. She paused for a moment. Then camp the tapping from Iruzu's cane, as the dragonkin tapped and moved forward he would hear the solid thud from the hardwood floor. There were no loose boards, and he would be able to make it past the threshold and enter the Library. The walls were lined with bookshelves filled to the brim with books; some of the books looked like many you would find in any sort of book collection, and then there were even stranger books. Textbooks on various subjects such as history, science, medicine, and others. These books, however were not native books and came from what could only be described as from another world. There were even a few manga books that lined the far wall.

"Yeah, yeah I'll remember that the next time you think you are going crazy," Eiru replied to John with a smirk as she followed Izuru into the library and let out a low whistle as she she was caught off guard by the place. "I bet you could find any book ever written in this library and then probably some, I wonder if there is any books of magic here or if they are somewhere else," She stated walking over to a table of books.

There were several long tables with books spread out across their surface; some of them were closed, opened, and the occasional stack. Though much like the rest of the tower seen thus far there was no speck of dust. To the left side of the room stood a sprial staircase that went up to the higher levels of the library. The higher levels had walkways made of wood with railings which every so often would shift their placement and change direction by turning a different direction. To the right side of the room there was a podium with a book sitting open upon it. Behind the podium was a large painted glass window that depicted a battle with a dragon and the same figure from the earlier carvings from the previous area.

Anyone attuned to magic could feel the mana pulsating, the air was almost electrified with the presence of mana. Almost to the point of it being intoxicating, everyone in the room would feel the thickness of the atmosphere and the pressure that was exerted on them. The longer in the room there was the ever slight feeling of the pressure increasing however it didn't feel like it was going to crush them.

The hairs on the back of his neck stood tall as they wandered into the library, the magic inside feeling imposing and strong. "Eehh... Feels like I'm stepped on..." Murmured the young pyromantic, keeping close to the group as they ventured through.

Thousands of books laid out before them, so much knowledge in one place. Carmel can't help but gawk, that mage-ish curiosity festering inside of him. "Ooo... Just imagine what all these books hold. Do you think there's anything here about raising the dead? Or dimensions, or..."

As quickly as he had been with the group, he's just as quick to lag behind once more. Plump fingers ghost over several books laid out on the table, examining each one with careful but brief eyes.

“Whatever you say, crazy dragon lady.” John replied Eiru, still feigning ignorance. Stepping into the library, John scanned the massive shelves packed with books. The air inside was thick with magic that felt like it was pressing down on him. Even Carmel was starting to feel it. “Seems like another one of the Mad Mage’s tricks. Although this one’s more like a free shoulder massage.” John said, rubbing his shoulder jokingly.

As Carmel wandered off, gushing about the books, John took a glance at him. “Raising the dead? Dimensions? That sounds like fun.” he said, watching as the young pyromancer eagerly examined the shelves. “Although the real challenge here may lie in actually finding those books in this huge library.”

His eyes skimmed over the shelves, and something caught his attention—books from Earth. Or well, at least they covered similar topics from Earth. He paused, his brows knitting together in thought. His memory of his time there was fuzzy at best, but these books felt oddly familiar. “Hmmm...” he hummed, glancing at the titles. Could the Mad Mage have come from Earth too? Had he somehow brought all these books here himself? If so, how did he do it?

Then his eyes landed on the manga stacked along the far wall, and his jaw dropped slightly. “No way…” He broke into a grin, standing straighter. “I’ve cracked the case, folks! The Mad Mage’s true identity—he was an otaku all along!” he declared proudly, pointing dramatically at the manga. If there was one thing John remembered clearly about Earth, it was manga. But well... judging from Eiru and Carmel’s oblivious reaction to the books, maybe they weren’t from Earth themselves and didn’t know what an otaku even was.

When Eiru mentioned the magic book they were searching for, John let out a groan, gesturing broadly at the endless rows of shelves. “You’re telling me the book we’re looking for could be somewhere in here? Great. We’re basically looking for a needle in a haystack. I’d say we take one of these random science-y books and just hand it over to our guy, and throw in some manga books while we’re at it. Who knows, maybe he will like the manga.” he suggested with a cheeky grin.

As he rambled, his attention shifted to the podium at the far end of the room. Curiosity got the better of him, and he wandered over, peering at the open book resting there. “Well, well, well,” he muttered, leaning closer. “What do we have here?”

Izuru

The moment Izuru saw the vast library full of magical books. His inner arcane scholar jumped for joy. No doubt a single tome of knowledge from the mad mage would fetch a decent price in some circles. Looking around at the many kinds of books. Izuru was surprised to see that they were seemingly penned in another language he couldn't quite recognize. It was neither the common tongue spoken by the majority of people nor was it the terrestrial language spoken by many among the human races. Unfortunately Izuru wasn't exactly an omniglot, given that he felt he could barely speak the regular language let alone whatever this was. He was apparently an otherworlder according to his father but that didn't give him any kind of benefit that would help here. "I'd avoid anything too out there Caramel. Playing around with death and dimensions should probably be something you handle after a few weeks of research at the very least. We wouldn't want to punch a hole in the world or summon a bunch of zombies now would we?" said Izuru while casting his eyes about for knowledge relating to his own research on abominations. He hoped the Mad Mage would have something useful that would assist in summoning one of those to this plane so Izuru could keep one as a pet.

Noticing John wandering over the the book at the end of the room. Izuru naturally made his way over there. Looking on at the strange open tome. His adventures in the Caelia Barony came back to him. The dragonkins instincts were telling him NOT to mess around with something that looked like an obvious trap. Hence why he decided on a much safer plan. "John, I'll give you a magic apple if you touch the book" stated Izuru while wiggling his cane in the air between them. Unlike the strange apples he and Caramel had eaten. Izuru could guarantee that the apple he summoned was PROBABLY not poison. He'd only learned how to summon it the other day while chewing on some leaves he bought from a witch. John was the group tank so letting him take the brunt of whatever was about to happen if they touched the book was perfectly fine as long as he received adequate support.

"Well, that is putting it mildly, though I wonder if its a trap or if its another enchantment placed here?" Eiru questioned as she looked up to the higher levels seeing a few books floating about and there was another doorway way up at the top. "Well I think I see the way out of here but, there might be books on undead but where exactly they would be I have no idea, just try to not start a undead invasion or something," Eiru joked as she turned her attention to Jon as he started to speak.

Then the room shook much like the hallway had and the way they had come rotated and a stone wall closed the path they had come off. Needless to say no one was going to go back that way. Which she still found the concept fascinating she hoped there might be some kind of book on the enchantments that were used here or at least she hoped. "What is an otaku?" Eiru asked as she hadn't heard the term before as she brought one of her fingers to her lip. "The book we are looking for could be here or it might be on a different level, and there is a door all the way up there that might lead somewhere. But I'd imagine the book we are looking for would be guarded by something at least," She theorized.

The book on the podium as Jon got closer, he was able to read the title and only him due to it being written in Japanese: A Hitchhiker's Guide to Another World. So far, nothing happened as he approached the book. Those attuned with magic wouldn't feel any mana or enchantments coming off the book. So far it seemed like a regular book. However there was a strong sense of mana that was coming from somewhere up above though the source was currently unknown.

Izuru on the other hand was attempting to get Jon to touch the book with the offer of another Apple. "I mean I wouldn't touch it after the whole apple thing but that doesn't mean everything is bobby trapped. Though does anyone else feel the mana coming from above?" She inquired.

"I do!" Carmel said with a raised hand when Eiru mentioned feeling magic above them. "I didn't know if I was feeling magic, or feeling those apples not sitting right with me."

Carmel turned away from Eiru, his obscured eyes zeroing in on a small, red book tucked away between the shelves. He looked over the title, 'Necromancy For Dummies.' and took to combing over a few pages briefly.
Despite growing up in a place where the necromantic arts were a staple practice between everyone, the Pyromancer had never been good at it.

"You guys think anything bad will happen if we- I dunno... Took a few things with us...?" Carmel asked the group as he held onto the manual in his hands, slowly inching it into his hat.

"Oh I've felt it for a while now. The Mad Mage certainly had some interesting choices when it came to his own personal tower" said Izuru to Eiru's observation; whilst nudging John. The strange book would no doubt have secrets which could prove lucrative to the group's pockets. He then turned his gaze to notice Caramel looking at a book on Necromancy. Izuru had no talent for the craft himself so he could understand some curiosity on Caramels part. As for taking some of the books with them. The dragonkin was all for making some money off of the Mad Mages collection. Plus there was his own research to look into. "We should probably get a move on to the higher levels if we're serious about getting that book. As we are right now, we simply don't have the time or stamina to peruse the collection AND deal with whatever guards the thing we were actually sent to find" stated Izuru after taking a moment to adjust his coat. The rain that had gotten into the neck area earlier was making it a bit uncomfortable to wear. Wanting a more concrete direction on where to proceed. Izuru decided to try some magic of his own. Combining his environmental magic with his arcane knowledge. He hoped to find a relatively safe path towards the thing they were supposed to find.

When Eiru asked about the term “otaku,” John let out a chuckle, crossing his arms. “Oh, that’s easy—it’s like a super fan. Someone who’s really into those books you see on those shelves.” Saying this, he pointed towards the shelf full of manga. He was pretty curious to see how a native of this world would react to reading manga for the first time though. Maybe they’d be disgusted by all the lewd fan service.

When Carmel inched the book into his hat and asked if taking a few things might be a bad idea, John shook his head. “Uh, yeah, I’d say that’s probably a bad idea. I mean, so far, we’ve had enchanted apples, a hallway that shifts and turns as it pleases, and a library full of books from another world. Add to that the fact that these books are still left untouched after such a long period of time is just suspicious. You best hope that the books you take aren’t cursed with any weird magic.”

John squinted at the book on the podium as he got closer, the strange characters on the cover catching his attention. He tilted his head, muttering under his breath. “Wait a second… I know this language…” As the title clicked in his mind, his eyes widened. A Hitchhiker’s Guide to Another World? He read aloud. “If the mad mage was a hitchhiker originally from planet Earth, then maybe this is his guide to this other world. This could very well be his diary. Let’s see… ‘Dear Diary, today I booby-trapped another apple for future adventurers,’ he joked, pretending to be reading from the book.

As Izuru dangled the idea of a magic apple in exchange for touching the book, John rolled his eyes. “Oh sure, and how do I know you're not offering me one of those laugh-inducing apples from earlier,” he raised an eye at him. But deep down, he wasn’t one to back down from a challenge—especially one that might lead to some answers. "But I accept the challenge."

Taking a deep breath, John stepped up to the podium, his hand hovering just above the book for a moment. “Alright, here goes nothing,” he said, grinning nervously as his fingers brushed the cover. “If this thing explodes in my face, you’re covering my hospital bills!” he added, jabbing a finger in the dragonkin’s direction for emphasis before fully placing his hand on the book, bracing himself for whatever might happen next. Still though, Eiru said that not everything was booby trapped, so maybe he'd be fine?

"Well, considering the fact the apples were cursed, I wouldn't be surprised if something would happen if that book or any of these books left the tower." Eiru pointed out as she moved closer to one of the shelves, though there wasn't any book in particular that had caught her attention. Carmel, as he touched the book and pulled it from the shelf, nothing happened to him or the book. The air in the room continued to thicken as well as the mana continued to flood the area. However as he attempted to put the book in his hat the book instantly got super heavy and he was forced to drop it. However the book landed with the thud it should have and if he went to pick it up again he would notice the book's weight was back to normal.

As for Izuru, as he attempted to divine the path, he would get the sense that they were going to need to go up toward the door above them. However, what happened after that fact was he felt a firm slap to the back of the head, which was audible to everyone in the group. But the direction at least was fairly direct upon which way the group was needing to go. "Yeah we should get a move on and right now the only way out of here is up for the moment," She suggested before heading toward the staircase that was going to led up to the higher levels of the library.

After taking a few steps, she paused for a moment. John's hand was unimpeded as he waved it over the book. So far, the book has not reacted. As he touched the cover and looked back at Izuru, the book slightly shimmered for a moment. The area around him experienced a sudden gust of wind that blew past them not doing much of anything besides move the air and ruffle some hair. Once the group was ready they would continue on going higher up until they reached the top where the door was. By this point, the mana in the air was supercharged. One could almost get intoxicated from it.

Eiru slowly approached the door as she opened it the door slammed shut. There were two sigils that were on either side of the door that started to glow, the symbols were runes that any magic student would notice. One was the glyph for lightning and the other was a glyph for earth. One wouldn't need to use their senses to feel the mana coursing through these sigil. Eiru attempted to pull the door open once again but there was no movement from the door.

"If I had to guess I believe we are going to need to find a way to divert the mana to shut off these glyphs if we are wanting to go forward," Eiru mentioned as she went to touch the glyph and was shocked letting out a small yelp as she pulled her hand away from the glyph.

Carmel was about to pocket the book before it suddenly grew heavier, making him drop it. He hummed before reaching for it again and doing the same thing, only to get the same result over and over for about 6 more times. With that, he pouted, his posture drooping "Aw man..." He whined quietly as he was forced to leave it behind, before snapping back up in position when he heard Izuru being slapped by some invisible force.

He watched the interaction between John and the book, curious to see what would happen. Besides a sudden gust of wind and a ruffled appearance, nothing much else happened. "This crummy book came from some place called Earth? What does it contain exactly?"

Eventually, Carmel and the group moved upstairs. This time, he actually sticks with them, even going ahead occasionally. But he pauses when feeling the immense mana in the air, a weak sense of intoxication coming over him.

When they reach the door sealed with elemental glyphs, he looked at them curiously, having never seen these kinds of things before.
Carmel, being largely self-taught in the magical arts, focused primarily on what he was good at while ignoring everything else. A bad decision in hindsight.

"Uhh… how? Would we have to hit with the opposite kind of magic, or are these things linked to something?” Carmel asked with a brow raised, before turning around “If it gets too complicated, we could always just grab one of those big books and give the glyphs a good bash! Brute force is always effective.”

As Izuru’s spellcasting earned him a loud, audible slap to the back of the head, John couldn’t help but burst out laughing. “Alright, I don’t know what magic you just pulled, but I think it’s got a mind of its own!” he teased, clapping a hand on the dragonkin’s shoulder. “At least we’ve got a direction now—up it is.”

When the gust of wind blew through the room as John touched the book on the podium, he froze for a moment, half expecting the ceiling to come down on them. But when nothing else happened, he let out a sigh of relief. “Phew, guess that’s all the excitement for now,” he muttered, stepping back from the podium. “Alright, let’s move before this place throws something else at us.”

As the group ascended the staircase, the heavy atmosphere became almost overwhelming. John found himself taking slower breaths, the thick mana making his head feel slightly light.

When they reached the door at the top, John hung back as Eiru approached cautiously. The sudden slam of the door made him jump slightly, and he frowned as the glowing glyphs came to life. “Lightning and earth… yeah, those definitely don’t look friendly,” he muttered, narrowing his eyes at the runes. “Anyone feel like guessing what happens if you try to force your way through that?”

Eiru’s attempt to open the door earned a yelp as she was shocked, and John winced. “Alright, so that’s a no-go,” he said, stepping closer to inspect the sigils. “Divert the mana, huh? Sounds like a magic problem, which means I’m not your guy.” He glanced at the others. “This feels like your department, wizard squad. Any of you mages know of lightning or earth magic perchance?”

The moment Izuru felt his own magic smack him in the back of the head. He felt incredibly confused. Magic could have a will of its own. However the method Izuru had used hadn't at any point suggest that it was that kind of magic. Yet the fact he had weaved zen magic into it may have altered it slightly to the point where causality may have taken hold. Currently there were a few too many variables to understand what was going on. Luckily Izuru had something far more important to look into. "Unfortunately as you saw earlier, I'm a Shadow Mage. Lightning and Earth are a bit out of my wheelhouse. However here's hoping I can figure out a little more about this here mechanism with a bit of study. Mage puzzles tend to operate according to either logic or the personal tastes of the mage in question. Considering this guy was literally called the Mad Mage. We can infer his own quirks will take precedence in solving these" said the dragonkin while crouching down to inspect the door. Izuru was by no means an expert in magic, far from it. He was barely an elementalist and even less of a scholar. All he could hope was that he could at least figure out something that would help the group proceed. Not figuring out anything useful as the comparatively more experienced mage would just be sad.

"Well it could be or it might be the same element, but I know lightning magic however earth is not something that I know anything about. But I wonder if there are spell scrolls or tomes in the library here?" Eiru questioned as she stepped off to the side and looked at the runes herself. Though the puzzle seemed straightforward, that didn't always mean it was, and with the falling armor, the apple, and the smack, there still were many questions as to how magic interacted within this place.

Then the room shook once again like before; however, there was still no other exit down on the floor they had entered on. However, some shelves had shifted, and new books appeared on them. This caused her to cock an eyebrow as the whole place seemed to have a revolving stock in the books, but that didn't explain where they were coming from or how this was happening.

Izuru's inspection of the door noted that a field of mana was coating the door that was coming from the runes on either side of the door. Looking at the runes, he would theorize that yes, if you hit the runes with the same element, it would turn them off, but there was the chance the magical circuits could be overloaded with enough mana if one wanted to brute strength their way through the puzzle. However, the consequences of such an action were unknown.

Carmel wobbled in his heels when the room shook with mystical might, new books lining the shelves where the old ones were. He wondered what was providing these items, but he simply couldn't come up with anything - magic was capable of some unexplainable things sometimes.

Carmel examined some of the new books and tomes, his plump fingers ghosting over a few of them before halting at what appears to be a scroll with a symbol resembling the earth glyph on the puzzle.
Curious, he takes out the scroll, running a thumb over the hilt. Then, he unravels the scroll… and is instantly blasted in the face with dirt.

“Blahh!!” Carmel spat out a mouthful of soil, sealing the scroll of ready-made earth magic up. He had at least found a piece to their puzzle, albeit by eating dirt in the process.

John steadied himself as the room shook again, glancing over at Carmel, who wobbled on his heels. “Alright, I’m starting to think this place gets a kick out of messing with us,” he muttered, watching as more books appeared on the shelves.

As Carmel wandered over to inspect the new arrivals, John couldn’t help but smirk. “Found anything good, Carmel? Hopefully nothing that's impossible to pick up this time.” His amusement turned to stifled laughter when Carmel grabbed a scroll, curiously opened it—and got a face full of dirt for his trouble.

John doubled over, clutching his stomach as Carmel spat out the soil. “Pfft—oh, man! You okay there, buddy?” he asked, wiping a tear from his eye. “But hey, looks like you found the earth magic we needed.”

He stepped over, peering at the now-sealed scroll in Carmel’s hands. “Alright, so now we’ve got lightning magic from Eiru and dirt magic courtesy of the scroll. We’re all set, right? Unless the tower decides it wants us to jump through more hoops.” John grinned, clapping Carmel on the shoulder. “Good work, though. Eating dirt for the team—now that’s commitment.”

Squinting his eyes at the magical puzzle with enough intensity to shoot proverbial lasers out of them. Izuru was able to figure out the basic function of the puzzle. Once Caramel got a taste of dirt, the dragonkin was sure this would work. "Eiru and Caramel need to feed magic into this thing. We're gonna need some synchronization. The puzzle can only handle a certain threshold of magical power. We push that too far and this thing might break, preventing further exploration. Plus we gotta take into account Caramels operating through a scroll, which may not last very long" said Izuru while tapping the butt of his cane against the ground a few times, passing it from hand to hand. Normally he'd want to leave the final decision to Eiru, given that she was the elected leader of this little party. However she would have to focus on synching with Caramel. John had to watch their backs as the party tank. Izuru really didn't want to be the one to make this call since positions of leadership seemed like kind of a drag. The dragonkin didn't have much of a choice if he wanted this quest to actually make progress beyond this point. "Eiru, Caramel. Both of you start pumping that thing full of magic on my count. John, you keep an eye on our six. This thing leads deeper in and I'm sure the Mad Mage has more surprises in store for us. We need to keep this on time and from breaking the puzzle" stated the mage while pointing at the door. Utilizing his dark magic, Izuru painted a circle over the spots where the pair of mages would need to channel their elemental energies.

"Wait maybe-" Eiru tried to stop Carmel from opening the scroll and then watched as he ate a face full of dirt that had come out of the scroll. To which even she had to crack a small smile about. However the sigil for earth was still glowing which signaled that probably something else needed to be done with the element. As John was tending to Carmel, Eiru approached the sigil for lighting. "Lightning Magic- Taser," She spoke as lightning flew from her fingertips into the sigil that represented lightning, and it slowly went dim until there was no light coming from it any longer. Cocking an eyebrow she tossed the dirt from the scroll at the sigil and it went dim as well.

"Well that was easy I suppose now what were you saying about syncing?" She asked Izuru as the door opened to a large circular room resembling an arena. She passed through the door and waited for the others on the other side of the door to follow before continuing. When everyone was on the other side of the door, it closed behind them leaving on the path forward. The ground shook for a minute as a large set of armor the size of a 7 story building came into view. "Im going to guess that is a guard and we are going to have to defeat that monster," She theorized as the door behind them disappeared and the wall pushed them into the area which then curved to match the other other walls with only one exit out that anyone could see.

Carmel stumbled backwards when he ate a blast of dirt, immediately dropping the scroll and scrubbing his tongue of earth. He cringed and hissed at the taste of soil, but he kept up an easy persona when John joked. "A-Ahaha, yeah. Always happy to take one for the team...!"

He wipes off the dirt still clinging to his visage, although some grim will definitely need to be scrubbed with water. He kicks away the earth scroll once again and follows after Eiru, hoping to be done with this mission already.

The group find themselves in a circular room, with the door behind them vanishing into thin air. Then, the ground beneath them shakes, and from the darkness of these enchanted walls, a large, towering mass of ancient armour comes into view, wielding an axe and sword in its hands. Behind this figure was the exit.

For the first time since this whole mission, Carmel's eyes bulge so widely that they can be visibly seen from under his hat. "We have to fight THAT?! It's huge!"

John stood at the side watching as Eiru demonstrated her lightning magic and expertly dimmed the lightning sigil. “Well, that was… surprisingly straightforward,” he said, watching as Eiru casually tossed dirt from the scroll onto the earth sigil, dimming it just as easily. “Guess we don’t gotta do any synchronizing after all.” He turned to Izuru, shrugging.

When the door opened, revealing the circular arena beyond, John stepped through cautiously, his eyes scanning the massive room. “Right... This doesn’t look suspicious at all,” he muttered, glancing up at the towering walls and the empty space beyond them. As the door shut behind them and the ground began to shake, John stiffened, bracing himself. “Here it comes…”

His jaw dropped as the enormous suit of armor—taller than a seven-story building—stepped into view. The earth trembled with each of its massive strides, and John’s face twisted into a mix of awe and disbelief. “Well, that’s just fantastic,” he said, running a hand through his hair. “Because figuring our way through a magically enchanted library wasn’t enough, now we’ve got to take on that!”

Hearing Carmel’s panicked outburst, John chided in. “Hey, hey, relax. It’s just a giant walking death machine! No big deal, right?” He gave a shaky grin, clearly not as calm as he was pretending to be. “As the saying goes, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.”

He stepped forward, squaring his stance as he stared up at the colossal armor. “Alright team, time to show this oversized bucket of bolts what we’re made of!” He cracked his knuckles, glancing at the others. “Magic-users, do your thing! I’ll distract it—or, well, try not to get stepped on!” Saying this, John rushed towards the big golem using [Fast F], before throwing a [windy punch] at it.

Izuru watched as Eiru outright ignored his advice and casually brute forced the puzzle. She was the leader of this quest so he couldn't really say much without risking his pay. However it was obvious he was less than pleased that she just up and did something so reckless. Sighing for a moment while Caramel coughed up some dirt. The sight of the next room brought Izuru back into the right mindset. It was close to the end of their mission, he could feel their target just out of reach. No doubt they would have to face some kind of serious threat in order to proceed. As if on cue, another animated suit of armor dropped from the ceiling. Much larger than the last and wielding some rather chunky looking weapons. Izuru would have panicked if he didn't feel so jaded.

Resting his cane behind his head and observing the massive hunk of metal actively coming at them with lethal intent. The dragonkin clicked his neck from left to right before focusing his gaze on it. Appraising this thing would take a little time. Time which was easily bought with John's noble sacrifice of his comparatively less squishy flesh compared to the rest of them. Once that was done and it was time to attack. Izuru pulled out a cigar he had swiped from a shelf before lighting it with his magic. He had never smoked before, it tasted horrible. Yet there was nothing better to ease his mind while dealing with this kind of situation. Drawing a triangle in the air with his cigar smoke. Izuru then cast a binding spell on the armors feet. Hopefully it would either trip up or at least get slowed enough where Eiru and Caramel could do something.

"Well, no time to waste, I suppose, can't get through until this thing topples." She replied as John rushed toward the giant suit of armor that had stopped at the center of their arena. The Burst of air hit the armor and went around the armor without making a scratch. Which caused Eiru to cock her head as the armor looked like it didn't even take a scratch from the punch. Something lackluster from the last suit of armor that had a whole punched through it.

As for Izuru's Aprasial, he would see that the armor had super strength D, Wind Resistance D, Fast F, Unarmed Fighting Style X, and Magic Resistance F. The tendrils of darkness lurched up the Armor's legs, holding it in place at the moment. The giant clasped its hands and slammed them on the ground sending a shock wave in all directions. [D Grade Attack]

Eiru now quickly went to work she used lighting magic: Taser sending lighting toward the suit of armor, as the shock wave was rushing toward her she quickly used another spell. She then used blinking Railgun sending a rock charge with lightning magic at the suit of armor and then blinked 10 feet diagonally forward placing her 10 feet from the giant suit of armor.

Carmel watched as Eiru sent thunder at the armour that was fastened to the floor thanks to Izuru's spell. Seeing Eiru prepare another spell, Carmel works in tandem with her.

Waving his hands and muttering his spell, a magic circle forms around the giant armour set that causes a large circle of red flowers to blossom around it. Their petals release and and ignite into fire, swirling around like an inferno.
Their flames heat the metal of the suit and weaken its solidity, causing the energized chunk of rock Eiru fired at the last minute to greatly damage their foe.

But Carmel isn't able to counteract the shockwave in time. He gets sent up from the floor and then lands with a harsh thud, groaning into the floor as he laid down. "O-ouch..."

John watched as his wind was easily dispersed by the giant armor. It seemed like he shouldn't be relying on his wind ranged strikes anymore as they were useless against it. As the shockwave was headed towards John's way, he braced himself for impact using [Shrug it off+]. Next, he charged towards the giant with [Fast F] again, before launching a punch on its leg with [Normal punch].
