YAY FOR FOURTH WALL BREAKING!SolisNighsun said:@GreenEyedStranger
Let me explain the tree-man, because Dhaylian is unaware of him.
The giant ash tree man, is a Dryad, basically an elemental tree nymph. Due to Dal's bloodline, (it isn't on there yet... sorry ;w he is of the
Tuatha Dé Danann, pretty much the original fae before the Seelie and Unseelie courts. Dal is a bastard child of one of them and an enslaved faye-born elf. When Dhaylian used his magic on the dormant Dryad, it awakened him, and bound himself to Dal as a servant and guardian. Due to the school's arcane, many mythical creatures are attracted to it, yet when they enter the Earthen Realm, they fall dormant due to the lack of magic. Only faye that have magic within themselves can roam Earth unhindered. Since the Magic within Dal awakened the dryad, he feels indebted to Dal, and believes that he is a Prince of Danu or the Aos Sí.
I couldn't figure out how to clarify this within the text with out breaking the fourth wall....
