Gawain looked up from messing with his shield as he became aware of the metal Kurikara approaching him. Looking up at the larger figure he felt an odd sensation. The look on his helmet was expressionless, but the way Kurikara spoke and the slight change of tone was enough to show his concern. His comment, that Gawain was an honorable man and that he didn't want another death to weigh Gawain... it was genuine. With out thinking Gawain's hand went to the small cloth pouch at his hip that held the ashes he had collected. With a slight chuckle he nodded his head in gratitude, "Thank you Kurikara, your words show that you are much more of an honorable man then I am."
Looking past the suit of armor he watched the priest heal Ray's wound. Turning back to look at Kurikara, "She has the spirit to put up a good fight, and in our current predicament we could use any help that we can get. If she can back up her words with action then she will be fine." Worst case scenario she was an archer, that meant she should be at the back line. Either she would be able to escape or Gawain would die first on the frontline, that meant he wouldn't have to feel any guilt about bringing this random woman to her death. Of course these were thoughts he kept private.
Noticing that everyone was getting ready to head out Gawain motioned towards the rest of the group, "Let's go my friend, we have an evil to stop and people to save." It might have been a bit presumptuous to call the armored Kurikara a friend, but they were about to fight a necromancer for an evil artifact, so there was at least a level of companionship.
The march through the forest was torture. Every second felt like an hour, and the skeleton could feel his impatience return with a fury. He was actually delighted when the enemy appeared, finally the could make some progress. drawing his blade and raising his shield the Skelton selected his target. While his companions opened fire, Gawain advanced forward to meet the enemy at the front. Whichever enemy would reach him first Gawain would swing his sword down onto them and raise his shield immediately afterword to try and block what ever counter attack was coming his way.
