Lets not be crackheads here, please and thank you. We already have a place for that. Lets not bother the nice people who don’t go monkey mode 24/7

Yea Fire is right and im trying my best to be sane

Personally I'm used to RPs where I control dozens of characters to develop independently amongst a living breathing world.
Comes with DMing for Dungeons and Dragons, if you want to make things believable you get used to it.

Props to you! I've played a total of one (1) complete D&D campaign, and honestly, I cannot imagine the effort it takes to get players to stop monkeying around and actually do stuff.

The trick is not too. Instead, be flexible.

What I usually do is prepare elements with a vague plan, but something that's malleable. Like I know what's going to happen in a situation, and I have the characters written out well enough that I know how they'll react to any given situation. Then I just present a problem and let them tackle it, then improvise based on how they do. Figure out good moments to slip in monster encounters I had planned, or just naturally let consequences happen.

Oh, also just expect your players to adopt a random NPC you've made.
I had a goblin that stole their stuff.
They hunted him down, then intimidated him into crying and handing everything back.

Then they adopted him.
He now lives under the floorboards of their guild hall as their banker watching all of the gold they gain and gaining player levels.
His name's Stench.

Omg I love Stench

Under the floorboards- STENCH DID YOU COUNT TH' MONEA?

To be fair he's made an expansive tunnel system under there now where he stashes their gold.
He fends off Dire Rats and stuff because his tunnels keep breaking into animal dens and like secret catacombs under the city.
So every time they come back from a major adventure Stench has had some adventure of his own keeping their gold safe.

Aight ill brb gang got a commission for a drawing on a Facebook page for b u i s s n e s s
