Spoiler: Bit of backstory for Artemis maybe?

"What? Whats your problem, huh? Are you afraid to look at my scars? Disgusted? You think youre to good for me now that im 'damaged'?" Artemis' eyes glimmered with tears as her mask was discarded on the grass.

"I - Of course not -" Aaron replied and kept his gaze on the ground.

"Then look at me like im still a person! Look at me like you used to!" She shouted. Her blood was simmering. She just wanted to feel normal again. She just wanted to feel loved.

"I cant Artemis!" He whispered and flinched back from her outstretched hand.

Artemis' face fell and it felt like her entire world was crumbling. She started to tremble and tucked her arms around herself. "P-please just look at me.." She whispered as a tear rolled down her face.

"How can I you lied to me.." He said and went to walk around her small form.

"If you really loved me you wouldnt care how I looked." She said and crumbled to the grass with her back against the tree.

Aaron turned and tears bloomed in his eyes. "I do love you but I cant bare to look at your scars and not think about how it happened.." He said.

"Please dont leave like everyone else." She whispered trying to keep her voice from cracking. He shook his head and with that. that was the last she saw of him.

And with all of that Artemis vowed to never get close to anyone again. She refused to get hurt over and over. She slid her mask back on and walked out of that forest, leaving her feelings behind. She now knows she has to be tough to make it.
