Jörmungandr - Gristan - Winter 1912

The day was cold, not so cold that it would be remarkable, but cold enough to make most people wrap their coats around them tightly for warmth. Winter had come and Gristan was in the thick of it, as evidence by the light snow falling upon the station, and the massive train there as well. That train was Jörmungandr, the World Train and to say it was huge would be an understatement as even its wheels were taller than buildings and the entire population of a large city could live within its cars. The station was usually a hotbed of activity but that was even more apparent today as the aforementioned behemoth was preparing to leave shortly, ending its two week long stay at the southernmost station of Gristan, a large speaker announcing final call for boarding to the bustling crowds, prompting those not already on to begin to scramble to secure themselves a place.

Within the train there was a similar level of animation as passengers began to settle in for the long ride ahead. However, there was also another reason for this, Marik Ascot Beaumont Elswood II, self proclaimed lord and a member of the prestigious and wealthy Elswood family, was throwing a ball for his birthday. This was an event that excited and enticed both the rich and poor alike with the chance to meet the "Lord" and brush shoulders with what counted as royalty aboard Jormungandr and with well paying jobs respectively.

Alyxxia was in her armor as per-usual but with a cloak over her as the chilling snow fell from the skies above upon entering the station she looked up at the world train, she had heard many stories about the Jourmungandr, but they never really did match up with what she is looking at right now. She had previously bought a ticket prior to walking into the station and just went through customs and entry, luckily the Gristan police had a hard time identifying Valkyries from others. with a fake name that was just her nickname she followed the crowd and boarded the middle. She saw most if not all the people going toward the same place, perhaps everyone is going to the residential areas? Is there another screening? Upon entering a large room Alyx soon figured out that this was a sort of party. She had many parties with her friends although this party seemed to be extremely different. Everyone was uptight and whispering to each other and that's not mentioning the extravagant architecture of the room. She personally didn't like it, many unnecessary steps of the rich to feel better about themselves. She walked to a corner of the room observing everyone, to her surprise not everyone was rich, certainly not her, so was this a type of ceremony?

Having been on Jörmungandr for some time now Ikkian had gotten quite use to the environment of the train, whether it be the hot air filled front cars, with their heads shoved so far up there, that it's back on their shoulders. The more train-like cars of the centre cars, having gone there quite occasionally seeing how people were and the  rear cars where he doesn't go as often mainly to the areas being too cramped for his liking. At the ball Ikkian would be wearing more of a formal attire than what he normally wears, coming in a well-tailored suit that he usually only puts on for these types of occasions and quickly changes out of once the affairs are finished. Whilst at the ball Ikkian would be interacting with the other people there seeing how people are and how the are fairing on the train, staying away from Marik him being the annoyance as he was. Looking about he'd see the wealthier people and how they seemed to get a memo of out-dress each other, so he would usually stick to the edges of the ball or near the buffet.

Midday Before the Party

Lord Marik was standing on the upper most level of a balcony to his private room. His room alone could be enough to house an entire family within the Middle Carriage, with furnishing and riches dotting the entire space fit for any King it seemed. He had an aerial view towards the huge Gristan Station and far below he could make out the tiny black dots he assumed were the new wave of travelers to join the Great Train.

He was torn.

While he detested more people flooding onto his train (or at least, in his mind it was his train as was anything that he set his eyes on), it meant a new influx of Merchants, Mercenaries, and wares that he might be interested to sped his hard earned (a laughable notion) money on. For you see, Marik didn't work at all. In fact he hadn't lifted a single finger his entire life, rolling on the afterglow of his Father's adventitious Business Endeavors while he lived a life of constant grooming and luxury. And yet still the man was forever bored and looking for something new to entertain himself.

He turned on a heel as he was dressed by Chambermaid, this one he hadn't actually slept with which was unusual and as he left the room he had a hand on his chin in thought as he realized he would need to rectify that. Walking the corridors of his Mansion he gathered a small army behind him as he stepped into the still bare dining hall. "THIS! I want this full to brim with the best of everything! I want only the best table cloths, delicacies, I want a chocolate fountain, an Ice Sculpture and a full roasted Boar! With a Golden Apple in it's mouth! I don't care how you find it just make it happen!" His voice probably a fraction too high as he shouted orders and flung his arms around in an irritable manner. "And a Sea Serpent, I want one center table and cut up into the thinnest slicers our Chef's can prepare! And lots of those glorious mini tarts... AND WINE!" Even before he had finished his rant, the not small army of servants were off and away as he took a heavy sigh outwards.

Just after Dusk and the Official Start of the Party

Lord Marik did his usual as he strutted around the place sending orders to people who mostly only curtly nodded or completely ignored the pompous man, and eventually he left the worklings as he dressed himself in his most tailor made hand craft suit. The material alone worth more then 5 years travel aboard the train. He strode with a heavy click of his boots against the polished ground and made a huge entrance as he flung two huge Golden Doors, seeing the floor already filled with the Wealthy and the people who wished to be Wealthy. He came to the very corner of the Ballroom and coughed to try and gain attention.... to no avail. He glanced to Bastian who was silent as always beside him with a look that was piercing and cold, so he leveled a finger at him. "BASTIAN! GET THEIR ATTENTION NOW!" Bastian didn't even blink he simply lifted his revolver, loaded a blank and fired it into the air with a resounding BANG that echoed and drew every single eye towards their direction. The second the eyes were on Lord Marik he felt his heart race and he took a step forward as if welcoming everyone, a huge grin spreading across his face.

"I welcome everyone to my Party, I have spared no expense and today marks the day the Great Train will resume it's journey around the world and it is also my 21st Brithday! As such, I encourage everyone to Eat, Drink and Be Merry!" Though as his eyes flooded the room his expression fell a fraction as he noticed not a small portion of the inhabitants were from the other Carriages, he could tell in the simple outfits that screamed not tailor made. While that put him in a sour mood, attention was attention and it was directed at him. With a laugh he pulled out wade of notes and simply waved them before his face like he were fanning himself. "NOW! I WANT TO SEE SOME ENTERTAINMENT! I want fights! And I want women dancing!" He said with another heartless laughter that would only grind more on the ears. "And someone find me my Cousin!"

Ikkian would be enjoying himself, at least until the blank was shot, in a momentary panic he would look about for where the shot came from, seeing that is was Bastian, his expression changed to that of annoyance,  what is that dumbard doing now? Ikkian though before hearing what Marik had to say, the same thing he always does then, he thought to what Marik said. Walking up to Marik, Ikkian would look somewhat annoyed, "Marik if you keep spending so much money, two things will happen, your father will find out how much money you've been spending and the other thing will be that you'd find out what it's like to live without money once your father cuts you off as likely punishment." Ikkian said with a sigh before continuing, "If you were the one in charge of all the money that your father had, you'd be bankrupt in a week." Ikkian said before neatening up his attire, "Just relax with the spending or a letter will be sent." With that, Ikkian would return to the party, going to fetch himself some wine, now back at the buffet table.

Jörmungandr- Middle Carriage lower level

The two week stay had done wonders for the Dokkalfs' business as stock was running low, resupply was always a bit tricky on board the train while it was on the move, there is only so much you can salvage *legally* of course. His good fortune in securing a shop front with a little luck and some deceit of course, moment after winning the deed to the store and a decent sum of money the previous owners of we none too happy. Not wanting to loose his newly acquired assets he hastily enlisted the services of a Mercenary also at the bar not too far away, also having bumped into her before hand.

His new store security and bodyguard made quick work of the sore losers and after doing so Seidhr promptly hired the woman indefinitely. Much to the delight of the bar owner and Seidhr himself, drinks were had and the evening ended in a haze as any good night would.

As the last of the passengers shuffled on and worked their ways to their designated quarters the dokkalf decided to close early due to the upstarts little party he was having everyone had been scrambling to get something presentable to wear to look as nice as they could in hope of seeing Marik and some of his money.. taking the earnings from the till and placing them in a well hidden safe among a nondescript pile of junk not too far from the counter. Looking over to his somewhat bored looking but slightly distracted and tense bodyguard. "hey Rota we'll be closing up early and head over to Drogan's dishes again, might even get the courage to try the tall bastards *special* that he keeps telling me about? Since we all the customers are at that this rich boy's party" hoisting himself off the stool and walking over to the front door waiting for the his bodyguard to follow him out the door before promptly locking the large assortment of locks on the door followed by a metal roller door over the whole shopfront and locking that also.

Once the close up of the store was complete Sides (seidhr) and Rota made their way to drogans' bar propping themselves down at a random table and set about ordering some drinks and food as they normally would at the end of trading for the day, albeit it much much earlier today.

Aeron Edgar Elswood

[A few hours before the party]

Within another mansion under the Elswood family, though a portion smaller, in the east wing: A young, blonde-haired young man knocked onto the door. "Mother," he called. Hearing an affirmative woman's voice, he opened the door with one hand and beamed at his mother. "You look lovely today." he said, while the lady of the house rose from the soft chair that she was sitting in. By her side, it was a list. Without a doubt it was list of things to prepare for attending to Marik's party tonight.

"Aeron... shouldn't you be getting ready soon?" His mother looked at him while walking up to him. "Make sure not to forget about your gift for Marik."

"Of course not, mother," Aeron assured.

[Before the party]

Along with many packages that had been brought with them, it had been handed over to the servants that were waiting. The servant that was taking care of it gave a polite bow. Aeron gave him a look of pity, imagining how many other gift packages he was going to have to handle. Turning his attention back to his family, he followed behind his father who was escorting his mother, like a 'dutiful' son. Looking around by giving rather subtle glances, he could see that there were some already interesting people around. Most looked rather presentable. There were some where you can tell had less financial circumstances. There was a loud of bang, and everyone turned towards a single corner in the room.

Lifting his head, from the corner where he was leaning against the wall, he couldn't help but give a small silent laugh to himself seeing Marik using such an energetic speech to kick off the party. Clapping along with the other participants, he began to make his way towards the corner. Along his way, he saw a rather respectable Alf walking away. Now where have I seen him before, he wondered very sure that it was a face he had seen before. Perhaps in someplace where I was networking for 'business' or investment.

As he had walked away, he approached his cousin from the front. "Hi, Lord Marik," Aeron said to his money-waving cousin in a slight casual manner, while giving a small salute. For today, he decided it was best not to sneak up on a surprise greeting.  "Someone looks rather excited. Happy birthday, cousin. Father and the rest of us have handed birthday gifts for you to your cousin, I hope you enjoy them. "

Drogan Icebreath

Drogan was living life as usual. Tending to the bar and dealing with the little punks trying to cause trouble. Basically he's a self employed bartender and bouncer. At the moment the bar was fairly quiet... Well... More like almost empty. But that comes to no surprise since that pompous ass known as Marik was hosting a ball. Well... Pompous ass or not Drogan probably wouldn't attend anyway. He'd most likely stand out too much. Not a lot of people have actually seen a Jotunn in person let alone heard of them. So it's probably for the best. Regardless though Drogan prefers this life over being stuck in the Northwest Peninsula. Although he has considered going back one day to see his family, that is currently impossible, one of the downsides of facing voluntary exile he supposed. As time passed the few people that were in his bar had already decided to go so now it was completely empty. With a sigh he began cleaning the glasses. "Looks like I'll have to close up soon..." Although almost as if on cue, Sides and Rota made their entrance and made themselves comfortable at a random table. It seems the regulars have decided to drop by. "Heh... I guess it would come as no surprise that you two wouldn't go to that boy's party. Well anyway what do you two wanna have? A drink? Some food? Or perhaps one of my fabled Jotunn delicacies." Drogan has always seen his homelands culinary expertise as the best food he's tasted. But for some reason, the few people who ordered it from his bar always had the same response. It just took one bite before they started shivering uncontrollably as if they were standing in a frozen wasteland in nothing but their underwear. Although they did say the meals were good, they never ordered it since.

Varen Label.PNG

Varen gawked at the the overwhelmingly large construct that was the World Train, Jörmungandr. Although he had seen it's grandeur once before, he still couldn't help but bask in awe of what could easily be called the greatest marvel of the world, hence the nickname. Even with his extensive experience with machinery, the young man couldn't even begin to comprehend all of the work and expertise that was put into the colossal train. However, that didn't intimidate him one bit. Varen was determined to one day become a renowned engineer, one that would be able to keep up with even the alves and their countless technological secrets. Thinking of working alongisde Alves inevitably reminded him of Rein. He still missed his Alven friend greatly but he already promised he wouldn't be sad just because she wasn't around anymore. Instead, he would keep to the last promise they made to each other to become the best inventors the world has ever seen. After all, that's why he was here right now. He would leave Gristan, his home, in favor of expanding his horizons and exposing himself to the knowledge that the world had to offer.

Varen was pulled from his thoughts when the loudspeaker announced the final warning for passengers to board the train. Returning his focus to reality, Varen proceeded to hurry torwards the boarding platform for the middle section of the train.

"Come on, Sven! We're going to miss our chance!" Varen shouted, and the little fox who was chasing the pidgeons who frequented the station immediately bounded and caught up to the young man and settled onto his shoulder. After boarding the train, Varen was at a loss as to what to do first. He did't have much luggage so he didn't feel like going to his sleeping quarters just yet. He was a bit hungry though so he opted to enter the first non-expensive looking eating establishment he could find, a bar/diner called "Drogan's Dishes". As he entered, he noticed that the place actually looked quite homey and comfortable. That was definitely a positive in his book. However, the real decider would be the quality of the food. The young man took a seat while Sven hopped off his shoulder to wander about the place, not straying too far from Varen should something happen. Now he waited for someone to come and take his order.

Adrenias had sent the students to go have some free time as today was a dry day, no doubt thanks to a certain rich boy's ball in the lower levels. he had shut the store down for today and and decided to walk about the train, he noticed that a bar was still up and decided there was nothing else to do so he told his spider to lay on his head and walked in. The first thing he noticed was the very large... Jotunn, was it? Then the few customers no doubt cause of the rich boy's ball. He walked over to the Counter and sat down a few seats away from a male Dokkalf, what looked like a female Human and another male Human. He nodded at the bartender as the Jotunn walked over to Adrenias. Simply looking up at the intimidating Jotunn completely towering over Adrenias, Adrenias gave a friendly smile. "hey there, what do you have for sale?" He doubted it will taste very well but it wasn't a bad thing to try something new was it? just then some scurrying caught his attention and his pet spider saw it too. was that a.. a fox?

Sarma watched the others go as they said that no one is coming into their shop Adrenias also left somewhere, she pondered about following after him but decided not to as he was not a interesting person outside the shop instead she left the shop and followed one of the few passerby's hidden of course. this passerby was with a group of 3 friends, all female talking about some male human. Perhaps this was the rich boy Adrenias was talking about eariler? She followed them to what looked like a large gathering, she debated on wether to stay around or not but then a loud gunsound caught her attention. she peered through the door only to hear the male Marik's words then she became increasingly disinterested and vanished from the ball room she had a few eyes look at her but it didnt matter.

Walking about the ball, he would see a few interesting sorts, mainly just pompous front car passengers but he would see some other people that were as equally enthralled by the event, meaning they'd rather be elsewhere, walking up to one of them, it was a woman, dressed in a more practical outfit that looked like she wanted to do a tactical retreat, "I take it you're not one of this type of event, I can't blame you, they're all basically just a bunch of dullards trying to out money one and other instead of actually using that money on things that are needed." Ikkian said trying to strike up a conversation with the woman, "Apologies, my name is Ikkian, a pleasure to meet you." He said extending a hand to greet her.

Lord Marik etc etc II

ccmh0HQg.jpeg

According to Marik his party was going swimmingly! There was hundreds of people, all infinitely less rich then him, there eyes were focused on him (well on Bastian's gun shot mostly and his follow through speech) but regardless this party would never have even been organized without his hand and dabbling in every little aspect. Though as he peered around, the buffet table looked amazing, and ice sculpture was superb but he couldn't help but start to feel a little... bored. There were no women grovelling at his feet, for some reason the people that would suck up to his Father for dealings hadn't approached him at all with their endlessly boot licking, and no one was jumping at the chance of the wade of cash in his fingers. Did people not trust him? Despite him being completely focused on himself and no one else, when he offered to pay people for their services he always paid for them. Did people not appreciate money as they used to? Perhaps he should make a trip down to the Middle, or *gasp* the Lower Carriage for some amusement but the idea alone of that grotty, dirt covered side streets and people that bathed barely any had his face turned up like someone had shoved a poo right in under his nose.

It was with this exact look that Ikkian had approached him and at first Marik didn't even acknowledge him until he first said the word 'money'. Being a trigger word for the boy, his attention instantly diverted as his eyes went slightly wider. Did he know this man? A waiter perhaps? Serving boy? Shoe Shin? His eyes idly traveling up and down the man's suit.... well he tried to look the part, he supposed, but it still looked like a cheap knock off imitation to him. He listened to the words coming from the man with a raised eyebrow, still trying to figure out why this nothing man was trying to talk to him and what he was trying to get from him. Then the guy had the nerve to suggest he might, one day, live without money Marik blinked before a heartless laugh escape his lips that ended a fraction too high. Almost like a "Ha!". That will be the day. He wasn't much intimidated by, whoever that man was, or what he said. A letter? That will be the day.

As he walked away Marik only made another high pitched heartless laugh, for all his talk about disliking Marik's spending, he was rather enjoying his 50year old Wine and buffet.....

His thoughts stilled though as he spotted his cousin walk up to him from the front, which was unusual but not really considered Marik had situated himself in the farthest corner so it would be nigh on impossible to sneak up on him... well then again, Marik wasn't the most observant of fellow's so maybe someone could if Bastian wasn't keeping at eye on his immediate left. Marik pocketed the huge bundle of money as it half fell out of his coat, before he stepped forward and wrapped his arm around Aeron's shoulders and started to drag him through the center group of people with a heavy grin all over his face. "Gifts?! Yes I adore gifts! I mean... you couldn't possibly buy me anything I don't already own, or could afford myself but, you know, the thought is nice and all I guess..."  Snatching at one of the party platters and something akin to a marinaded chicken skewer before it bit into it and waved it around in the air like a conductor as he continued to speak.

As his eyes drifted through he spotted someone that completely stood out from the crowd. Or rather stood out as they were hiding in the corner of the room. Because she was wearing armor, that while was shiny was really not something someone attended to these sorts of functions, he approached with an arm lazily slung around his cousin's shoulders and ate the last of the chicken on his skewer. Then he noticed that, whatever man, approach the girl and his eyes narrowed a fraction. So in a typical fashion he un slung his arm from around his cousin's shoulders and pushed his way past the man, knocking his hand back as he wedged himself between them both, before he leveled the stick at her face. "Now, This is something you don't see everyday... Why would a girl wearing that outfit be doing at MY party?" Reaching out with the stick as he slid the very tip against her the shoulder of her cloak almost as if to try and peel it off in a curious fashion.

Completely ignoring the man had practically thrust himself between Ikkian and the Valkryie.

Zeke Hartfield

Few weeks prior

It was like any other day, Zeke was, at the time, busy sorting out the information gathered from his network of informants. It was tedious work, shifting through a myriads of information that may or may not be relevant, trying to form a picture on the rival family's movements in his head, trying to find discrepancies between the seemingly most irrelevant of information as to not let anything slip through his intricate web. It wasn't easy being a spy on the Archipelago, the place isn't that big after all and once your enemies learn of your face, your career is sure to be done. That is why Zeke had to learn to keep his distance, watching the rest from afar with help from the contacts and informants build over the years. Only those in the family knows who he really is, and even them he keeps his distance, especially them, will all the back stabbing that occurs through the years. Really, managing all of this is truly a headache, he'd much rather be just a simple hitman like when he's still a kid, things were less complicated back then. Or so he thought anyways, but on that day, unbeknownst to him at the time, would be the last day he'd be working with the network he's grown so used to having.

Present

The world train, Jormungandr, he had seen it on the Archipelago's station before, but he had never boarded in himself. Walking about on the middle car of the train, Zeke felt quite blind, after all, on the Archipelago he had always knew where to find what he exactly needed and where absolutely everything is. Here, he was blind, completely, and being so used to having his network of contacts and informants to work with, there is an almost crushing sense of helplessness that he hid skill fully behind a confident grin, all the while trying to convince himself that he'll be fine.

Dragging along with him are two trunks, one containing his clothing, everyday goods, and money of which he'll live on during his stay here, though it's not that much and he'll have to find a way to gain more later. In the other one, is his beloved collapsible bow and arrows, taken apart and mixed with various other junk parts so that no one could tell what it is supposed to be before he reassemble it. On his person, he wears a red, traditional looking grab over dark, formfitting clothes to make himself appear to be a traveler of some sort rather than wearing his businessman-like tie and suit getup, blending in with most of those in the middle car.

Zeke has one mission here, and that is to establish a branch of the declining Wagner Family on the train. Thanks to the action of the current Don, Johannes Wagner, of declaring that he would no longer wage wars to expand the family's territory, he had gained much opposition and had been the cause of infighting and double-crossing, steadily chipping away at the family's strength, and now, it was almost certain that they would either find a way to expand and regain its strength, or let it end with the current generation. This is an important mission, many nothing will ever be more important that this, which is why Zeke thought it was odd for it to be handed to him, and worse, him alone. He thought the the Don didn't trust him. Is this how they plan to get rid of him? But then again, wouldn't tossing him in a barrel and dumping him into sea be more efficient, not to mention cheaper? Well, most likely, it was judged that it was something only Zeke could pull off. It's either him, or the stubborn old geezers and the inexperienced youngsters left in the family. He may not be trusted, but he's the only one with the necessary skill set to make this work, not to mention that establishing a new domain in someone else's is never easy and would perhaps take a long time if one isn't fortunate, a Dokkalves' longer lifespan would be extra insurance against the ever changing odds.

Drogan's Dishes

Bar and Grill

First thing's first, lodgings, and while he's on that, he ought to get to know the place and it's people. Having contacts are, after all, the basis of creating a network. While Zeke does feel a great deal of loss having to leave his old network, build and expanded over the years, he was equally exited about building a new one. If maintaining one has the comfort of familiarity, building one has the excitement of new challenges, and currently, for that exact purpose, the best place to be would be the party everyone is talking about. Zeke, however, isn't so inclined, after all, he hadn't the time to prepare for it, he doesn't know who to talk to, who to avoid, and what to even talk about, he had just gotten on board after all. As he was thinking about that, his eyes were caught by a certain shop, "Drogan's Dishes Bar and Grill" it's called, and somehow surprisingly lively considering that just about everyone had gone to this comparatively much more luxurious party.

Zeke walks into the shop, looking about to see an assortment of... interesting people to say the least. Dokkalves, Humans, Jotunn, Alven, a great variety of races gathered here in one place. Zeke wonder is this is a common sight on the train. Regardless, despite his slight surprise, Zeke nevertheless puts on a friendly smile as he walks in.

"Well, this place is surprisingly lively. And here I though everyone had went to some rich kid's party. Is there a special occasion here as well or are the food here just that good?"

Alyx jerked away from the rude male and gave him a low growl. This male obviously isn't disciplined, hell, even the mercenaries she used to hang out with knew their boundaries. "It is cold outside and i wish to stay in my cloak thank you." She stepped back from him a little more. He glanced apologically to the Alven male that was far more intellectual than this human one. She had half a mind not to assault him, if he was this pompous he would probably be the one either hosting this party or someone clearly rich enough to be considered an Aristocratic. She then glanced at the door, noticing a red glow that quickly disappeared. She mentality shook that detail away as it was not important for her current situtation.

Adrenias

"hey there, what do you have for sale?" He doubted it will taste very well but it wasn't a bad thing to try something new was it? just then some scurrying caught his attention and his pet spider saw it too. was that a.. a fox?

Sarma

Alyxxia

Alyxxia didnt notice the playboy on the other corner of the room until the man beside him fired a gun, that quickly caught her attention and she almost threw her shield infront of her for protection if it was not for hesitating with the mass of people around. She wanted to simply walk away abut decided that would make too much of a scene, so she stayed at her far corner of the ballroom waiting it out until she can leave without anyone really noticing.

Rota Ravven.png

Rota was sitting at the very corner of the workshop that Sides owned with her characteristic blank look. She would have looked asleep at first glance except for the body, even while sitting and rocked back slightly she looked tense and ready to spring into action at any point in time. Her piercing Golden eyes constantly peered around the room and any inhabitants therein. Did her Boss have any idea how often any form of light bounced off the various forms of Metal Scraps around the place, the shining light triggering the girl with a hand flying down as if to pull out her shotgun only to realize that... once again... a lamp light had bounced off that one silly piece of metal just resting on the nearest workbench to her position. It was more then irritating but she would never voice her concerns, just make something akin to a disgruntled gruff as she tried to peer elsewhere. She could still remember the night she came under the Dokkalf's employ, or at least half it. She remembered the card game that ended with him winning the deeds to the site where the shop was situated right now, and she remembered him offering a large sum of money to 'take care' of the men who weren't altogether pleased with him winning the deeds to the place. Furthermore he offered her a full time position as Body Guard to his shop and half the winnings up front. A Mercenary girl couldn't really say no could she? Then drinks were had by all and the night got decidedly hazy after that.

Her mind still pondering idly on that as she had a screwdriver rotating on the very tip of her index finger, something mostly to just pass the time with the same irritated look on her face, the girl turned her head slightly as she saw the Dokkalf go through the motions of packing up his till as if to close up shop. Even before he had fully secured the businesses money, the girl had rocked her chair forward from it's two leg balance to stand up tall, throwing the screwdriver up in the air then catching it and flinging it not unlike how someone might toss a dart of a throwing knife to land with a dull thud and wobble into a cardboard box he had resting against the wall. Without a word, as she very rarely used words, the girl simply nodded and readjusted the rifle slung over her back a fraction before positioning the cloak more heavily over her shoulders to ward off the cold. She followed without protest behind Sides as they came upon the warmth of Drogan's bar, and while they sat down at a random table Rota couldn't help but grin a tiny fraction as interestingly this was the same table that Side's had won the deeds to his Shop. You could tell because there was a very specific mark where the man who lost the Card Game had dented it's surface in a rage.

Coincidence, really, that she had been reminded of that day 2 months ago yet again in such a small space of time. Rota glanced up as the Jotunn approached there table, something about the boy's party? Ahhh... he must have been talking about Marik Elswood II's party... it had only been the most talked about thing on the Train for the last month when he first announced it. To bring himself attention no doubt, and got all kinds of it. Either people dying and biting at each others throats to try and attend and look the part, or people that didn't really care. Rota somewhat sat in the middle of both. While true she was the observing type, she had never been to a very fancy ball and not one of this magnitude so in a way, she wanted to go. Though it seemed Sides and Drogan had plans to simply stay put which caused the girl to take a half frustrated breath outwards. Well she couldn't go without escorting Sides, he literally paid her to protect him. As the Jotunn offered food and drink Rota found her eyes slowly closing in an almost bored fashion. "Just a glass of water, I'm not hungry." She said in a hurried tone, which was the truth really. "Besides if this one gets blasted, someone will have to escort him home." She said as her eyes slowly slipped open again and she flashed the Dokkalf a glare that would send most reeling.

Though Rota's eyes flicked about as a young man entered with what looked like a fox creature, her quick eyes watching the creatures movements. She had never seen a Fox after all and was trying to work out in her mind if it was more Cat or Dog. It could have been either, really. And then ANOTHER customer came in with something mechanical on his shoulder. Was that a spider? The girl's eyes continued to narrow and almost subconsciously she slide her chair over a tiny fraction to move more to Sides...well, side, crossing her arms and legs though she still looked as tense as one could be. Not that anyone could hurt her Boss with her sitting next to him. They would certainly have a big gaping whole where their chest would be if they tried.

Then if that wasn't making the girl tense enough yet ANOTHER guy walked in the door and a much more aspirated sigh left her lips now as her eyes focused in on him. "I thought everyone was supposed to be going to that Elswood Son's party?" She said in a low tone and quite so that only the Dokkalf beside her could hear. "Isn't that why we closed up Shop in the first place?..." The girl wasn't the most friendly of people, so it was lucky she was a Mercenary and not a waiter or serving girl, hey?

Seeing Alyxxia glance between himself Marik and the door Ikkian would interject himself between Marik and Alyxxia, "So Marik, why don't we talk about the new toys and presents you've got, I'm sure you'd love to talk in great detail about how you have them and I don't, I'm sure you cousin would love for you to show them off, why don't we go talk with him?." Ikkian said as he subtly gestured to the door for Alyxxia to make herself get out of the situation rather quickly. Gordan  Bennett, why am I doing this? Because you're nice and you don't want Alyxxia to put up with Marik, fair point, as he thought this he would move, trying to divert Marik's attention away from Alyxxia, he knew how Marik could be and the likelihood of her wanting to throttle him would be near certain.

drss.pngdrss2.png Sorry for the whole thing being blue rather than just the dress, It NEEDED to be blue to match my baby <3

Lilianna was standing in front of her mirror, staring at the dress that had been made for her by her mother. It was something that the older Alf wanted her to wear on a date so she had given Lilianna the dress just in case she found someone while on the train. It was comfortable, elegant and was perfect for a ball that this rhich kid was planning. Marik was his name? The spoiled brat that the Alf wanted to teach this kid a lesson but knowing her, she knew that just attacking the man out of the blue would get her in trouble. Closing her eyes, the Alf drew a deep breath and then let it out "I'm only going there just to see what happens. Maybe meet some others who may be hanging around there." she said to herself before walking out of her room and locking the door.  Since my Cafe is closed Rota should be somewhere else, right? she thought to herself.

Maybe she'll find her along the way. Who knows?  Either way, she was going to check out any place that Rota might be staying at. Of course it didnt take Lili long to come across a place called Drogan's Dishes. Just by looking from the doorway it was a bar and people were already inside. Taking this chance, she walked in and looked around to spot one of her best friends: Rota. A woman who visited her cafe quite often to where they soon became best friends. "Hey there, Rota." ( @Zuka ) called the Alf as she made her way over while her lighter part of her dress flowed within the wind caused by her walking. Her purple-blue eyes moving over to the Dokkalf ( @Halffix ) who was sitting at the table and she gave a warm smile in greeting before glancing around really quickly and then back at Rota.

"I was wondering where you were hiding since my cafe was closed down early." she said with a soft laugh "I wanted to get your opinion on this dress before I headed up to the party. I'm only going just to see how the rich kid makes a fool of himself. And if he's lucky i'll give him a nice punch in the face if he lays a finger on me." Being the most positive Alf, there were always some flaws that ran within her veins. One of which seemed to be blood of her own race and another. Rota was the go-to girl when it came to her opinions even though she would nod or shake her head and barely use her words. Maybe that's how they got so along and became best friends... Maybe it was the drinks she was serving Rota that made her become friends with her. Either way, Lilianna enjoyed her company more than anything else.

"I do hope i'm not interuptting anything." she said, looking between the Dokkalf and the Valkyrie. Lilianna hated to be rude in any way possible. If she was rude, she'd apologize and flee the scene to allow it run on its merry way without her. Unless it was battle tactics... Then she may stay and try to help out. The Alf couldnt help but look at the very large man who was also standing by the table and she smiled "Hey there" @Jackaboi

Lord Marik Elswood II

Marik still had his skewer held outwards towards the girl with a typical cheeky grin covered over his entire face, though he was altogether surprised when the girl growled at him like some sort of rabid beast! He jerked his head back a fraction as he dropped the stick in surprise, no one in the Upper class just growled at him, none would ever dare! So who WAS this girl and why was she growling to him, Lord Marik of all people! As he still gaped his mouth in half shock and before he could really respond, the man from earlier, Mr Letter he was talking to him now. At first as per usual he looked at him but didn't really care all that much, but then he mentioned toys and presents and like a kid who heard about Candy, the boy's face suddenly lit up. A huge grin spread along his face as another heartless laughter escaped. He was literally the world's most unobservant person to ever grace the lands (or train in this instant), so he threw a hand out in a pompous gesture and nodded enthusiastically as he completely dismissed the girl he had been interested in a moment earlier.

"AHHH well, I think someone might have created with weird flying bird mechanical doovey thingo but honestly unless it can send me bottles of Wine or is encrusted in Gold then I am not that interested... speaking of Wine!" Clapping his hands and out of no where some young Maid come forth and held out the bottle to him with her eyes lowered. Once he took the wine he popped the cork and in a rather uncharacteristic display he started to drink the liquid straight from the bottle!! After a huge swig or two he reached and grabbed the maid's derriere for a grope before she gasped and reefed herself away and ran off before he could do anything else. Marik didn't seem to notice or care, he was already back to drinking his wine and enjoying his party.

Drogan's Dishes Middle Car Lower level

Sides hadn't been seated very long ordering a bottle of what he normally does and a glass he felt a little fancy an opted with ice, normally forgoing it as it gets in the way of drinking. He did turn to ask Rota if she wanted a glass for herself just shaking her head slightly while still keeping hers eyes trained forward. "she'll have some ice water then I guess," the Dokkalf said to the tall Jotunn bartender as he handed the usual amount of coin for his request "I might be tempted to try that special food you keep raving about to Drogan." Returning soon with ice water and a separate clean glass and a bottle of brown liquor it had a worn label and covered with dust Sides poured himself a glass as another patron walked in Rota immediately locking eyes on them scrutinizing as she did so along with what looked to be some kind of dog but it was orange?. It wasn't long before another few entered one with some kind of spider somewhat hidden within their hair.

A somewhat plain looking man entered and greeting everyone before querying about the food from the establishment. Rota had moved a great deal closer to his boss more for ease of protection of him than of attraction asking about lack of customers and why are they here. Leaning over to rota "I'm not sure the street was completely empty for hours I haven't a clue where they all came from, by the looks of them they aren't customers for me well maybe the one with the orange dog over there" he said his eyes glancing over to varen quickly, just enough for rota to get the jist of whom he referred to. looking to the latest entrant "I'm just here for the drinks of course, might as well try the food while your here then" ( @revior) Placing his arm around Rota in a friendly manner a slight grin in the corner of his mouth as he did so knowing what her reaction was going to be to the act.

not long after that Lilliana entered wearing quite the dress for the rich kid's ball saying hello to the two of them, "oh hey Lilliana closed up early no customers I think drogan *was* about to close as well but there is s few of us here now, dress looks good and we might have to go along just to see someone slap some sense into the kids or a least rattle the rocks around in his head." he chuckled grasping the bottle "care for a quick drink one business owner to another?"

Alyxxia

Alyxxia quickly walked toward the door as the rich, Child, had forgotten all about her. She glanced back at the Alven man and nodded for his attempt at assistance before promptly leaving the crowded room. She then let out a breath she didnt know she was holding and decided she better find a place of residence. Her standards for a living space weren't high at all living with mercenaries on the road lets you learn how to deal with no privacy or sleeping on the cold hard ground. So she throught it would be best for her to simply find the cheapest place to live in and aimlessly walked about reading the various signs and such.

Adrenias

Adrenias could only look at the large jotunn be busy with the other customers with a rather disappointed look. He sat there gathering information from the various customers apparently the Jotunn's name is Drogan, now the name of the bar makes sense. It seems the Dokkalve and the human woman had a relationship together or at the vary least somewhat close. The other human seemed to be new judging by the Dokkalves behavior. Soon enough another Dokkalve walked in, what is it with this part of the train and Dokkalves? He waved at the newcommer "i'd like to say the food here is great but i havent had any just yet." Adrenias's pet spider mimicked his movement and AGAIN another person opened the door.

This time it was a rather Beautiful Alf that is appearently friends with the Jotunn and the Human-Dokkalve pair. So the human's name is Rota? And this Beautiful Alfs name is Liliana, Adrenias then pondered why an Alf would befriend a Dokkalve but soon rushed that thought away. "You two run a few busniess? I happen to run one myself." Adrenias non-Chalantly leaned against the counter in a relaxed form. The pet spider however got up and sat down ontop of it. "I own the Clockworks Imporium, what of you two?"

Sarma

Sarma debated on wether to go home or to Check up on Adrenias, she walked through the mostly empty hallways with the few being with people attempting to hide or simply freeze at her sight. To any normal person it might've been impossible to find another on the Train but Sarma has been keeping a rather close eye on Adrenias's habits. He should either be looking for someplace to shop for scrap metal or tools, that or he found a new place to gawk at. She reached her home of the Clockworks Importium then traced Adrenias's usual goings. The first thing she noticed were the lack of stores available. They must've went to the room she was at eariler. She then turned a corner to see one shop open, a strange Alf female was at the door with a rather lavish dress. Sarma simply stared from a far.

Drogan Icebreath

Drogan nodded when when Rota and Sides said what they wanted. Leaving to grab a worn bottle and two glasses, one of which was filled with Ice water. Upon coming back however the whole place suddenly started to fill up. "And to think I was going to close up soon..." There is a few people he didn't recognise. An alf with a pet metal spider, another alf who seemed to be quite friendly with Rota and Sides, a human with what looked to be a fox and a Dokkalf who came strolling in asking why it's so lively here. "Honestly I have no clue why it's so busy. But I would like to assume most of the people are here cause they hate Marik's guts. Also the food here is only as good as your taste buds want it to be. Feel free to order some if you want." Drogan made his way back to Rota and Sides to hand them their drinks and looked at the Alven woman who decided to say hi upon his arrival. "Hello. I hear your going to that spoiled brats party. I assume you don't want anything before you head out? Maybe I could give you a bottle to whack him over the head with, free of charge." Drogan awaited for the Alf's reply before heading to each of the other customers he hasn't spoke to and taking their orders before heading to the next one. The first one being the Alf with the pet spider then the man with the fox. After taking their orders Drogan walked over to the Dokkalf to check if he's made up his mind too.

Rota Ravven

Drogan's Dishes Middle Carriage

Rota continued to look on edge, then again it was very rare the girl looked anything but tense even after a drink or two. Speaking of which, Drogan approached and placed a iced Water in front of her so she nodded to him as she reached forward and wrapped her fingers around the glass with condensation dripping down it, peering to the ripples in the water momentarily as she became lost in thought. Normally she was the first person to take in a whole scene and everyone around her, but something keep distracting her mind and pulling her attention. Though as Sides spoke she lifted her head to peer to the side of him. She was going to say something along the lines of 'customers or not as long as none try to hurt my Boss and I have to step in, I don't really care who they are' but was then Sides did that.

Rota watched in slow motion as the Dokkalf slid his arm around her shoulders and if her body wasn't tense before it was positively as stiff as a board now. Her eyes went wide like saucers before they just as quickly narrowed and she turned to the side to look at him in a creepily slow motion like any killer in a horror movie, her teeth gritted under her lips and jaw tense. "How much do you need that arm to do your job mmm?" She said in a threatening manner with a dark tone. "No one said anything about paying me to refrain from hurting you Myself..."

And if that wasn't awkward enough it was at that time that Sparks wandered in and spotted her, and Rota almost had the forethought to slam her forehead into the table from the timing but decided against it, being she was dignified and refined. "Not interrupting a thing." She grasped onto one of his fingers and gently peeled his hand and along with it his arm up and off her shoulders to place it back against the table before she turned her full attention on the Alf and nodded. "You looked divine." She answered simply but the smile that peeked on the corner of her mouth told the girl her words were genuine.

Though it was as Sides offered the Alf a drink, Rota glanced to the side at him with her golden eyes huge, did he say he wanted to go to the party after all? She didn't expect that, not at all. She figured she would have to beg or plead to go and check it out for herself, otherwise she could have dumped him into his room after a bottle of liquor and locked it from the outside before she left herself. Though the first option was better overall. As Rota glanced around the room she finally rested her eyes back to Sparks and slowly brought herself up to a stand as she did. "Well, I think I might get changed then if we are going to this Ball. Would you like to come with me?" Turning slightly on her spot to face Sides as she did. "Just come back to your room when you are finished here and I can escort you from there. Women take longer to get ready anyway." Putting a hand to her chin as she did. "And try not to drink too much while I am gone...."

With that Rota held out her arm for Sparks to loop into so they could walk together back to her room.

Dorgan's Dishes

Bar and Grill

The place is certainly lively, all things considered, there was even one here who claims to have never eater the food here before. Is he here only for the drinks or perhaps on a whim life Zeke is? Regardless of why he's here, the more eye-catching aspect about this one about this one is the spider shaped clockwork doll by his side, mimicking his gestures. How quaint, thought Zeke, entertaining the thought of making his life much easier if he had something like this, the application for such a doll is possibly endless in his line of work.

As he moves further into the bar, he note a young man with little presence, perhaps too young to be in a bar, and by his side, a fox. How odd, is this an establishment that allows pets? Well, the fact that it's even in here must mean that it's fine right? Then there's the Dokkalve with yellow eyes and a left ear with a missing tip, and rather distinct looking fellow. And beside him a human lady with dark hair and sharp eyes, eyes that gave of the impression that she had killed before and isn't shy about hiding it, though that impression my be a mistake on Zeke's part. A lady who would nudge so affectionately close to her man as if afraid that those around would steal him away could never be a killer... Or could she? Then, just as Zeke was thinking about this, the Dokkalve with yellow eyes boldly placed his arm around the dark haired lady, a lovely scene if only the lady's eyes doesn't just plainly screaming "brutal murder" the moment the Dokkalve touched her. Perhaps she's just shy, Zeke continues to humor himself in his head while clearly avoiding getting close to those two, taking the long way around with his higher brain telling him that she's bad news.

Finally, Zeke reaches the second furthest seat on the bar counter, keeping some distance between the rest of the customers and himself, or namely, his luggage. Sandwiching his luggage between his second last seat and the very definite last, he bagan talking to a Jotunn that looks to be the owner, who told him the the food here is "only as god as his taste buds want it to be" like some tagline for an advertisement of some sort. Regardless, it certainly got him interested.

"Well you've certainly have my curiosity, what do you recommend here? Oh but first, I'd like some coffee, with cream and plenty of sugar, I've had a tiring trip you see."

As Zeke was placing his order, an finely dressed Alven lady showed up, in he had to describe he attired, he would say that she looked like a blue fairy from some magical land, a rather fine beauty with a fine senses for color coordination, either that or she just likes blue a whole lot. One thing is for sure, she look damn good in that color.

Zeke was quite glad he had found this place so soon after he had come aboard. This certainly seems to be a popular place for an assortment of characters to gather and he could easily imagine himself coming here often to get to know people and listen to their gossip. To a man in his line of work, such a place in invaluable.

"So," Zeke turns his attention back to the owner, trying to strike up a conversation, "you've been on this train for long?"

Lilianna waved her hand in a dismissing manner towards Sei ( @Halffix ) "Nah, I dont need a drink before getting ther. Though I will probably be needing one afterwards. That's if the kid bothers me." she shrugged as if it wasnt a big deal and her eyes moved back to the Giant who she could only assume was Drogan and let out a laugh "A bottle to hit him with sounds like a nice idea. I'll be sure to pay you back if you get me the best bottle I can hit him with." ( @Jackaboi )her smile seemed to always brighten up a room just by how happy and cheerful she was outside of working on mechanical items. The Alf then looked back at Sei and Rota but more towards Rota who complimented her "Why thank you, Rota." the smile had still been on her lips

Looking over her shoulder, she noticed another Alf who hopped into the converstation. Not that she minded, he wasnt being rude. He was being friendly in his own way! Plus he was against the counter so he was quite a distance away "I own Sparks Cafe. Best Tea and coffee around from what all my customers have been telling me. Sei here owns the Repair and Scrap emporium... Am I corrct Sei?" the alf looked towards the Dokkalf just to get confirmation since she wasnt entirely sure seeing as she never visited much.

Her attention was grabbed as Rota rose up from her seat, Lili tilted her head just slightly in curiousity before it was soon content "I wouldnt mind going with you at all! I'm sure Sei wouldnt mind either, would ya?" ( @Halffix ) a giggle left her lips "Lets go and get you nice and dressed up, Rota." when her best friend let her arm out, Lilianna instantly linked her arm with hers and looked towards the Alf who had spoken to them "I'm Lilianna Sparks, but you can call me lili, sparks, sparky, anna. Anything you could come up with really. Rota and I are gonna head out to the party going on upstairs and I gotta get working on prettying her up. Maybe next time we can hang out? I like to meet more of my fellow Alvens." ( @Petroshka ) once he answered, she nodded softly with a warm smile

Then she headed out "I didnt think you'd want to go to the Rich Kid's party, Rota. I'm quite glad that you're coming along." ( @Zuka from here on and to the end of my post) Lili was shorter than Rota only by 2 inches. Which was surprising since Alves were quite tall no matter the gender they were. For the human height, it was quite odd that she was taller than an alf by two inches... Then again Lilianna was shorter than the normal Alf due to the genes from her father.

The two best friends walked out of the bar and and had headed to Rota's room "What made you change your mind if you dont mind me asking? Was it because I came in and peaked your interest with my dashing looks in this dress?" she teased, releasing a laugh and nudging her "C'mon, dont be shy. You know you can tell me anything. We're friends for a reason you know." she said in a singsong voice. Rota may have been the quiet one but Lilianna was the one who always spoke, always had fun and tried to be the positive one in a group and did what she could to push people (in a good way) and lead them onward!

It didnt take her long to see a large clockwork doll with a red light staring down the hall towards Herself and Rota. Sparky wasnt scared but she was kinda shaken by how intimidating the doll looked...

((Please let me know for Nite Life users if the white highlight for my character talking is too much! I just want to make it easier to see in the dark bit))

After a relatively short wait, a towering Jotunn came to take Varen's order. he was a bit startled at first but quickly shook it off. he shouldn't have been surprised really. A name like 'Drogan' was a pretty big hint that it was a Jotunn who ran the establishment. In truth, Drogan wasn't the first Jotunn Varen had ever seen since he grew up in Gristan where the races lived together rather peacefully but that didn't mean the frost giants weren't intimidating. He always did his best to mask his slight fear to avoid being rude.

"U-um. A hamburger with a side order of fries please. Oh, and a glass of water too." the boy said with a nervous smile, handing Drogan the money. Once the Jotunn walked away Varen let out a relieved sigh and called Sven, who promptly perched himself on Varen's shoulder. For a while, Varen just sat there relaxing while absentmindedly stroking the fox Doll's head. It was then he overheard some of the conversation going on around the relatively quiet bar. At the mention of a 'Clockwork' and 'Repair and Scrap', the boy immediately perked up. Varen quickly got up out of his seat and ran up to the Alf who had mentioned owning something pertaining to Clockwork. He had an extremely excited look in his eyes as he approached the Alven man with a...robotic spider.

Wait...

Robotic spider!?

"Oh. my. gosh." the boy whispered in awe as he gawked at the little construct.

"Did you build this, sir?" Varen said without looking up, his gaze fixated on what he thought was the most amazing thing in the world at the moment. Meanwhile Sven was still clingign to Varen's shoulder, his staring at the the fellow Clockwork Doll before him in curiosity.
