Fantasy Its All Up To Us

Noah nodded some as he tended to the cat but tensed and shot up immediately when he smelt Phil. He shot a glare his way and started storming over "You! Did you do this?! Did you take her?!" He yelled pushing him a bit just concerned and scared about his mate. He could tell she had a barrier up because he didn't feel her, but that worried him for her safety and health even more.

Max frowned deeply as they came up to the burnt down home. She watched as another younger man came over and pushed Phil forcefully, though it surprised her that Phil barely budged. She stayed back like she had promised, just listening as much as she could.

Phil shook his head and held an arm up, keeping him back "Hey, hey! Don't come at me like that starting something you aren't ready to finish. I haven't seen her since two days ago when she brought over some banana bread she made and asked if I would come talk to you civilly this time once you got back." He told him frowning. "She seemed fine then." He pointed out, "There was the smell of a bonfire when I left my place this morning. Figured you lot were burning something." He told him, "You think it could've been that group that lives out on the other side of the forest? I know they've been active recently, they attacked her not too long ago." He told him, nodding towards Max. "But I'd be surprised if they'd got one up on your mate."

Ciri watched the whole thing unfold, soon heading back to the car, too overwhelmed to handle it on top of having flashbacks to the accident that had taken her parents from her, looking up and seeing the man he'd called Nick walking towards her. "I had a dream that she'd been hurt... So we came back early... He said it's her blood... I want to go home." She frowned.

Noah frowned deeply as he listened to Phil shaking his head a bit "I can't catch a scent...all I smell is her blood but its not leading in any direction further than what the snow shows." He explained taking a deep breath "I just....I can't loose her again."

Nick frowned deeply and rubbed her back a bit "I know, Carmen filled me in on what happened and I wish there was a way for us to take you home. If I know Noah, I know he'll get you a home." He said gently trying to cheer her up.

She frowned "She was really nice to me." She told him quietly, "I hope she's okay." She told him frowning.

Phil nodded, "You should come back to my place... Clearly you can't stay here." He muttered, "And the blood goes to the road so my guess is she was put in a vehicle or something... Come on." He gestured for them all to follow him, hearing one of the others making phone calls about getting back as soon as possible while he turned to Max and nodded. "Would you like me to take you back to town? I don't.... This is about to be a lot thrown at you all at once but if you want to stay you're more than welcome to." He explained.

Nick gave a small nod "I'm sure she is, we gotta just try and stay strong for her alright?" He said softly before looking towards Noah when he called to them "Come on, we need to follow him."

Max bit her lip hard as she watched him "I don't want to leave you again, but I also don't want to be in your way at all with whatever is going on. I'll only be a distraction and in the way, so I guess going home would be the best thing." She said softly

He frowned but nodded. “I know already that you don’t like being told what to do but for the love of all that is good in this world don’t you tell a soul about any of this. For your safety and ours.” He told her gently but being deadly serious.

She nodded and stood, walking with Brian and keeping an eye on Noah the whole time, watching how he kept stumbling and now the adrenaline was wearing off she could see he was struggling to stay on his feet at all.

Max nodded some and crossed her heart "I won't tell a soul." She said quietly before walking with him towards his truck "Do you think it was the same people who attacked me?"

Noah made his way towards the car Nick had come in stumbling a bit as everything set in. The feeling of utter guilt and loss was now starting to weigh heavy as all these terrible scenarios played out in his head about what was possibly happening to Carmen.

He shook his head "No... They've... It's a long story but they've been hidden for so long and they've not been visible long enough for them to take note... But that's almost more concerning." He muttered. "You call me if you notice anything strange in town alright? I can't spend much time there but I can come get you." he promised. He hated to admit it but the relief was palpable since he'd just accepted that he had a new mate.

Nick was watching him closely, eventually having to catch him before he hit the ground too hard, "Let's get you back to Phil's. You need to lie down." He muttered, shaking his head a little, looking back to Brian. "We hear back from everyone yet?" He asked him, hoping it was only Carmen who was missing, getting Noah into the passenger seat of his car and chucking the keys for the other car at Brian so he could take Ciri down there.

Max nodded softly and sighed "Alright I promise." She said softly before pressing her hand to his face gently "Be careful." She murmured before getting in the truck to leave.

Noah came to a little later groaning as he held his head "Where are we?" He asked quietly seeing Nick sitting across from him

"Phil's place. Just stay laying down. You passed out before we got to the car... And you don't look so hot." He told him worried. "He's gone to drop off his mate in town... Ciri is upstairs asleep. Everyone else is accounted for. They're on their way back. Nadine is organising us somewhere to stay as close as she can." He explained frowning. "Noah I really hate to ask but with everything going on with her lately and how weak you are.... You don't think she's cut ties and left on purpose has she?" He asked him frowning.

He nodded, taking the others to his place and making sure that everyone was settled and safe before starting to drive back down to town with Max. "There's a whole lot more to my world than I wanna bombard you with right now... But I will come get you tomorrow if I can. If it's possible, I will meet you at the gas station I dropped you off at. Six am sharp. If I'm not there within fifteen minutes you go back home alright? I'm okay I promise but I don't want to drag you into something dangerous.... Just... stay safe alright? No late night trips to the woods again." He told her, his mind racing through all possibilities.

Max gave a small nod and leant over kissing his cheek gently "I promise no late night trips. I'll talk with you tomorrow." She said gently before getting out of the truck and making her way into the gas station to grab a few snacks before heading back to her apartment.

Noah held a hand over his face groaning some "Good, don't need anyone else hurt." He muttered before shooting a warning glare Nick's way "Don't. Carmen would never do that." He said seriously before closing his eyes again "Someone attacked her, and I need to find out who."

He frowned and watched him. “What can you feel right now? Anything at all? Cause the amount of blood in the snow you should be feeling it. Should have been feeling it from the beginning. But you haven’t. Noah you need to accept that she has probably left. Doesn’t mean we won’t look for her but you need to be prepared for what you find.” He warned him.

He headed back up to his place and walked in to hear two of them arguing and just glared at them both. “You gonna waste your time or figure this shit out? You need information on the Sanchez coven right? Let me go find what I got.” He muttered, heading up to his ‘library’ room which was really just a glorified closet

Noah frowned deeper about to snap at Nick again but stopped when Phil came in "My mate says you're powerful." He muttered as he followed him to the so called library "Who are you exactly?"

Max got home to find her roommate getting ready for work "Hey anyone called in tonight?" She asked just wanting to try and distract herself from everything she had found out today.

He nodded and frowned. “She’s got a good sense. Phil Brooks.” He told him. “I’m guessing you and her were part of that vein of the Sanchez coven that got taken out. People seem to think it was an inside job.” He told him.

She shook her head and frowned. “Hey. Where did you disappear to? You said you were grabbing a snack and never came home. It’s your day to take out the garbage.” She reminded her, watching her suspiciously.

Noah gave a small nod frowning deeply "We don't know the full story. We just know we lost everyone." He said quietly before watching him some "Brooks.....like the council family Brooks?"

Max nodded some and went to get the trash "Yeah I was, but then I started to just wander around town. I'll get this taken out right now, sorry about that."

He nodded and frowned, looking for the book and pulled it off the shelf. “Here. That’s her entire family information. That might be a good place to start. She was talking about things shifting recently. Said she’d been noticing tensions coming up from the academy. She came over to let me know that we would talk once you got home.”

She nodded and frowned. “You’ve been disappearing a lot lately. Everything okay?” She asked her, half knowing the answer alreadu

Max nodded some and gave a small shrug "Yeah I've just been feeling the need to get out more." She said hoping that her friend would drop the issue.

Noah took the book and frowned more "Yeah she told me about the tensions as well. She. Has been hitting the fan up there apparently. I'm guessing you have nothing to do with the council any longer?"

He shook his head. “Not for years. Probably worth your while to take a trip to the academy. But for everyone’s sake leave the girl here with the rest of your pack. She’s stronger than she knows and they’ll sniff her out in a heartbeat. Keep her safe.”

She just nodded slowly “right. I’ll see you later.” She told her, heading out to get to work, going to see their manager to let him know the latest, another member of the cult

Noah nodded and thanked him quietly before going back downstairs to read through the book and see if they could find anything.

Gerald frowned when he saw Amy come in "Any news on what happened to Maxine in those woods? She should be dead, yet here she is walking around like nothing happened.....why didn't the wolves kill her?" He asked in a stressed out voice.

She shook her head. “Nothing concrete. But she disappeared again today. Left to run to the store and came back just a bit ago with nothing from the store…. You don’t think he’s chosen her do you?” She asked him

Nick went to find him and frowned. “You think we can trust him?” He asked Noah glancing towards the stairs.

He frowned deeply and shook his head "Impossible, they said he needed to feed. His mate died long ago, they don't get another. She of all people can't be the chosen." He muttered feeling like their world might be spiraling with this thought.

Noah gave a heavy sigh shaking his head "What choice do we have at the moment?" He asked quietly before opening the book
