Fantasy Its All Up To Us

Noah gave her a salute and sighed a bit "I'll make an announcement at once dinner is done and I'll call everyone else." He murmured kissing her cheek before he went to set the table.

Max frowned deeply and gave a nod "Yeah.....yeah I think so too." She said before getting up quickly "I don't know how I got in here....I must have slept walked." She muttered standing up and trying to collect herself but her brain was fogged with feelings she didn't understand.

He frowned and went straight downstairs to get a coat on and head outside for some fresh air, rubbing at his face a little. His hand reached for a pack of smokes inside his jacket pocket and he took them out, shaking his head a little "I'm sorry I know you hated it but I'm stressing." He said out loud. It calmed him a lot to talk to her like she was still around, never having to think that someone else was around listening.

She nodded and yawned a little, getting the rice drained and calling everyone down once everything was ready, "Ciri you grab a bowl and eat sweetheart, don't wait for the others or there won't be any left." She told her, going to do the same and went to sit by where Noah was, placing a bowl in front of him as well, "What you lookin' at?" She asked, frowning a little when she saw it was his work phone.

Max frowned as she quickly grabbed her things and went down to follow him out. She listened to him and raised an eyebrow seeing him light up a smoke "Who are you talking to?" She asked as she made her way towards his truck.

Noah sighed heavily as he looked over the notification he'd just received "They want me back in two days now. Said they can't wait any longer than that." He muttered shaking his head a bit "I'll try to make it work."

He frowned and shook his head "You're a nosy little fucker aren't you? Can't just be grateful that someone saved your life." He muttered, getting in the truck and started the engine, shaking his head a little once she was in and he started the drive to get her back down to town, knowing he'd be leaving his truck there for a little while now until it would be safe to drive it back up but he just couldn't have her in his house anymore. The ride was silent until he eventually pulled up by the gas station in town and glared at her, "Good luck. Stay out of the woods." He muttered, getting out to fill his tank up while he was there.

She sighed a little and shook her head, "Fine. But this is your last one for the winter." she warned him. They all took the winter off as much as they could. There was more work to be done around their place during that time and even with the barriers up it was safer to not let people follow tracks back to the house but it was Carmen's favorite time of year, she had everyone home and safe for once

Max sat there in silence the rest of the ride to town. She tried to get herself out of the truck once they got to the gas station but she physically couldn't bring herself to do it. She gulped when she saw him come around her side and yank open the door telling her to get out "I can't....like I physically can't. I don't know why." She told him seriously before yelping some as he tugged on her arm to get her out "Hey! Let go!" She said as she tried to yank her arm away from him.

Noah gave a heavy sigh and nodded "Alright beautiful, I promise its the last one." He murmured pecking her cheek before he began to eat just as everyone else started to file in and grab their food.

She nodded and sighed a little. "Oh! I almost forgot. Ciri we gotta get you clothes don't we... You wanna take us into town in the morning? Go get that done?" She asked Noah, thanking him when he nodded and smiled at the girl, "Then after that we got work to do." She told her.

He glared at her and eventually pulled her down out of the truck, "I was trying to help you get out.... Goodbye." He snapped at her, locking his truck and going to pay for his gas so he could leave. He hated being here, paranoid as always but mostly just wanting the comfort of his home again. He told himself he avoided town in case of people noticing him but really, he had just become too much of a recluse to want to change anymore

Ciri looked at her and gave a small nod having already finished her food. She smiled softly at them and nodded "Yes ma'am." She murmured before going quiet as Noah stood to have the meeting she heard him talking about.

Max frowned deeply just stood there in that spot as he left. She gulped quietly before she started to walk. She found herself in her apartment an hour later feeling completely drained both physically but also emotionally.

Carmen sat back, letting Noah take the reins for this one. The only trouble they ever had with their own pack was the lack of respect she was shown on occasion. They saw her as less for not being one of them. It undermined Noah as well, making it seem as though he had been unable to mate with one of his own but she let him handle it every time, not about to waste time trying to prove them wrong.

He parked up somewhere as quiet as he could where he wouldn't end up with a ticket, knowing all too well that trying to drive back up the mountain in the snow was too treacherous to attempt and he walked for a little while, making sure no one else was around before disappearing into the trees to shift and start making his way home. He could come get his truck once the snow melted a little in a few days.

Noah sighed heavily as he did his best to get everyone to listen to him. He frowned deeply though when Folio made a remark about Carmen needing to stop pretending to be sick and fix the barriers. He went over to him slamming his hands on the table infront of him "Excuse me? You want to say it louder for the rest of us to hear?" He said in his alpha voice his eyes boring holes into the young wolf.

Max was at her job that evening hoping that she would still have one. She bit her lip hard as she entered her managers office "Joe? Hey, um....I'm sorry for disappearing recently. I had uh, a bit of an emergency come up." She explained quietly

She frowned a little and shook her head. “They will go back up. But not the same. We will not be invisible to the outside world but we will be safe as I can make us sustainably.” She told them all calmly. “But that will happen once I’m done sorting some other things out because some of us… keep causing trouble.” She muttered, looking to Folio pointedly.

He looked up and sighed a little. “Jesus Max where the fuck did you go? We’ve all been worried sick. Just disappeared on us.” He told her frowning. “Sasha thought you’d got lost in the woods. We figured you were a goner if that was the case with that storm we just had.” He frowned

Noah glared at Folio shaking his head some "You need to get it together Folio. My wife has done everything in her power to keep us safe for years now and its taken a tole on her. If not for her you wouldn't be here right now." He said in a deadly serious tone before going back to Carmen.

Max nodded giving a heavy sigh "I was going to go there, but I got a call from family about an emergency. I'm sorry for just disappearing like that. I promise it won't happen again." She explained to him just hoping she still had a job.

He nodded to her and frowned. “I gotta give you a write up about it but just give us a heads up next time that you’re okay and you’ll be back when you can.” He told her, waving her off. “I didn’t schedule you tonight but I’ll sort out your hours for the week and send it over later tonight.” He told her.

She stood quietly and began clearing bowls and plates, taking them to the sink, not sure who was on duty for cleaning the dishes but she collected ciri and took her upstairs, going to her room with her to check she had everything she needed. “We keep the heating up as much as we can but if you’re cold just let me know and I’ll sort something out. Plus there’s always extra blankets in the cupboard in the hallway… get some rest sweetheart, Noah and I are just down the way if you need anything.” She told her, finally heading to bed to find Noah sorting out a fresh dressing. “Here. You’ve never been good at this.” She smiled a little at hi

Max nodded and thanked him repeatedly before leaving to go talk with Sasha. She smiled giving a small wave when she saw her friend cleaning glasses "Hey there..."

Noah grunted softly letting her get the dressing done properly "What all are you going to teach her?" He asked once she was done wrapping his long arms around her and pulling her in close to him.

“How to make salves. Herbs. Safe plants to heal…. Nothing that could endanger any of us. Not til we know we can trust her.” She told him, “but I want to get more of a feel for her.” She explained, yawning. “But first. Bed.” She murmured tiredly, leaning against him some more.

She looked up a little shocked for a moment before composing herself. “Where the hell have you been?” She asked her frowning. “Disappearing on us like that!” She scolded her.

Noah gave a small nod and kissed her gently before laying down. "I love you beautiful." He murmured before starting to fall asleep with her.

Max sighed heavily "Family issue, came out of nowhere." She said softly before running a hand over her face as she sat down.

She hummed quietly and rest her head against his shoulder as she finally fell asleep. She had a mostly peaceful night into the early hours of the morning, laid up close to him still with her hand flat against his chest and dreaming but when she heard him yelling out in pain she jolted awake, staring horrified at the handprint burned into his chest, completely unaware it hand been happening while she slept. “Shit. Shit. I’m so sorry.” She told him quickly.

She nodded slowly and frowned. “Alright… I guess I’ll see you at home then, go get some rest and you can fill me in tomorrow.” She told her, smiling sympathetically and turning to pick up her phone and send out a couple messages.

Noah was sleeping as soundly as he could when it happened. He yelped loudly feeling her hand burning into his skin. He quickly tried to scramble away without hurting her panting softly as he shook his head at her apology "Its okay, don't worry." He told her calmly while he took deep breaths.

By the next morning Max was feeling even more drained than the day prior. She didn't want to move and for some reason her mond wandered to thoughts of Phil, wanting to know what he was doing and if he'd made it back safely.

She got up and quickly went to get a cold compress for him, coming back, still half asleep but passed it over. “I don’t… I don’t know what happened.” She told him quietly. “I don’t… I’m so sorry,” she told him quietly, sitting as far away from him as possible without being on the floor, watching him carefully. “I thought it had stopped.”

Sasha brought her some tea and knocked on her bedroom door, going to sit near her. “So what happened? Cause last I heard you were going to take photos in the forest. I told you it was dangerous but you went and then you disappear for a few days.” She frowned, wanting to hear exactly what had happened to her.

Noah reached out for her frowning softly "Its okay love, come here. I'm going to be okay." He murmured frowning more when she didn't come to him "Carmen....please come here, you aren't going to hurt me."

Max frowned a bit and took the tea sipping at it "I was, but then my mother called me and made it seem like all hell had blown loose. So I had to leave instead of going there." She explained with a small shrug "Shit's fucked with my sinuses though."

She shook her head and frowned, "No it... it wasn't happening anymore and now I... I had it under control." She mumbled, not really noticing that he was next to her again, subconsciously leaning into his arms though even if she felt like she should be the one comforting him. "I'm sorry." She whispered, laying back down when coaxed and eventually fell back to sleep, keeping her hands in fists to avoid hurting him again.

She frowned but nodded, "Alright.... Why don't we call in a pizza tonight? Just chill out. You're back on the schedule from tomorrow but we both got the night off." She suggested and smiled at her a little, "I'm gonna go for a run but rest up so you're back to yourself soon as you can be." She smiled, leaving her to it and headed out to go meet with a few other people.

Noah was up again the next morning looking over the burn in the mirror. He was relieved to see it was nothing major. He yawned before going to use the restroom grumbling quietly when he heard the door open "Mornin."

Max nodded some "Yeah that sounds great." She murmured before her friend went off. By the midday she was up and in town trying to find some snacks and other small groceries she needed. She frowned though when she turned the corner seeing Phil's truck sat there.

She sighed quietly, walking over to check him, waiting til he finished up using the toilet and washing his hands, “it won’t scar. With you it’ll be gone by this afternoon.” She mumbled, wrapping her arms around his neck, “I’m sorry.” She told him quietly. “I’ve had it under control.” She told him frowning, the large calico cat that was her familiar, wandered into the room and rubbed himself all around Noah’s ankles. “I don’t even think my dreams were that bad.” She frowned.

Phil had been heading home when he caught the scent, opting to deal with it in the morning but now he was awake and miserable as ever, especially realising there was a pack nearby, ready to warn them off if need be but he needed to deal with it before it got out of hand, unaware that they’d already been there four years. He eventually found the house, banging on the door and not caring who he woke up. Since dropping max off in town he’d been not been feeling great and it wasn’t helping his mood at all to feel under the weather.

Noah held her to him and swayed gently with her "Shhh its okay. It might just be from all the stress going around at the moment alright?" He said quietly before kissing her gently "I love you, more than anything." He murmured but frowned when he heard a loud knock at their door followed by an unfamiliar scent hitting his nostrils "Stay here." He said in a low voice before quickly leaving and going to find Jolly at the door. 'That lone wolf is here, says he needs to see you.'

He made his way downstairs quickly going to find the other wolf stood at his door step. "Mornin....how can I help you?" He asked keeping his stance and presence tall and proud like a normal alpha would. He wasn't about to let this wolf jeopardize what they had right now.

She frowned but nodded, half listening in the way that she went to Ciri’s room instinctively, wanting to make sure she was alright.

Phil glared at him a little and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Course it’s a fuckin young pack… you all look a lot more settled in here than I expected… areas taken. You gotta move on. Newcomers not welcome.” He muttered to him. He was feeling rough with having turned max away but trying to ignore it. He was convincing himself that if he just ignored the whole thing it would go away.

Noah frowned deeper as he looked over the man. He could tell her was definitely an older wolf, but he wasn't about to back down. "We know who you are, you live far enough away that we won't cause a disturbance. My family is safe here, we aren't leaving." He told him seriously and took a deep breath

Ciri looked over at Carmen as she came into the room giving a small frown "Who is at the door? They knocked pretty loud." She said quietly while pulling the blankets tighter around herself.
