I... kind of dont know where the Cipher arc is going next. Because... it's just that. The Cipher arc. Our characters are... mostly just people with swords/guns. He is in a power class way above us all to where I see no easy way for us to defeat him without doing some bullshitting.

For Kenji, two months is both a long time and not much time at all. He's managed to scrape together something resembling a stable living in this time, leveraging his skills to acquire a rather cramped apartment and a steady job working as a low-level security guard in a shopping mall. The mall cop life is a terrible fit for him, but he has to admit it's a great way to get acquainted with the technology of the future (or is it present, now?). Just about every other store and kiosk in the mall is hawking some futuristic product, after all.

Once he's resigned himself to the realization that there's probably no going home any time soon, he devotes most of his spare time to getting accustomed to said technology. Kenji's favorite innovation is the mobile phone. Not even in his wildest dreams could he conceptualize a portable telephone with a camera attached to it! His meager wages are only enough to afford him an absolutely basic model, but even the most bare-bones phone is an impossible wonder to him.

He's emerging from a subway station when it happens. The world shifts itself once more, not into the future but into a nightmare that defies understanding. The scent of blood hangs heavy in the air as everyone goes about their business as if it's just another day, the sight of which is enough to cause him to seriously doubt his sanity. He breaks out into a run, his cheerful pink coat and hat quickly staining with red.

"Hey! What the hell's your problem, asshole? You almost ran me right over!" A woman's voice calls from behind, yanking at the back of his coat.

"What's your problem, lady? Don't you see this? Don't you smell it?! I can't be the only one who notices this happening!"

"Are you on something? It's just a little rain! If you're going to try weird drugs out you should probably do it somewhere safe, you know." The woman shakes her head, walking away because she does not want to get involved with Mr. Bad Trip over here.

"Damn! I don't have time for this!" Though really, does Kenji even know where he's going? The creeping dread in his heart is compelling him to do something, anything, but all he can do for now is run.
