Well we do not have to abyssal, it is something that I just was feeling at the moment. As I mentioned I know we have a lot of other irons in the fire.

I listened to a preview of the Sidarial book and I found it very exciting (good thing I am in on the Kickstarter)

Blades in the Dark is a cool system but I am not sure how it would play out in a play by post format here. I too have always wanted to give it a try.
Don't let me stop you lot playing Abyssals! As I say, I'm out of game slots for the time being.

I'll have to re-read Blades and see if it would work here or not... I have a feeling it'd either be perfect, or terrible.

It’s a very narrative system, I suspect it would be doable.

Hot dang I love the combo of Blinding Battle Feint and Perfect Shadow Stillness.

Psychie Psychie , please let me know if a 16 on Stealth is successful at hiding Glade (...I sure hope it does), as I get the WP refunded.
You are so hidden I don't even know who sent this message! Lol

Seriously, that is far above anything that your opponents can possibly overcome.

Same here! Go and enjoy!

Initiative order

19 - Silent Glade !
9 - Grey Stone
9 - Amara
4 - Mercy

A quick bump for Purr Purr and Rykon Rykon for your rolls
Psychie Psychie Please roll for me?
If I"m doing this right, O Mighty Fat Cat has a Wits of 5, Awareness 3, Specialization: Initiative, and Charmed Existence modified Merit.

Is that what you need or am I getting something wrong?

I love this! Hah!

...and RPNation decides not to notify me of this forum. At least it kept me up with the IC thread!
Likewise! If it hadn't been for Psychie's tag, I might not have thought to check in.

Same here! Woop! I can't say I grasp half of it, but the half that I do grasp looks thought-provoking and fun! =)

I love this! Hah!
That is exactly what I need, thank you. That gives you nine dice to roll before any Charms or stunts. I got a total of five successes, and with the +3 base that everyone gets your starting number is 8i.

Hey Psychie Psychie , is it too late to add a Charm activation to my action of charging forward? I'd like to have Increasing Strength Exercise active for the start of the next round.

BTW, did you remember the White Jade Boots that increase my running speed when you were calculating my distance to the bad guys in cloaks?

I hope to have a post here within 24 hours. Thanks for the bump, Psychie! =)

Ack. O.K.. Headache has interfered. These usually last 3 days or so but I'm going to try to post sometime tomorrow. I know what I want O Mighty Fat Cat to attempt; it's just a matter of putting to a post I can be happy with. =)

Thanks for the heads up. Feel better soon!

Psychie Psychie O.K.. My head's still not quite on straight yet to post in-game so in the interests of progress, I'd like to ask some questions here. Sorry in advance for this half-ramble here. If I'm following right, Amara is in "short range" and O Mighty Fat Cat is too unless he makes some move as not to be. We are attempting to stop the cultists from chanting. Silent Glade has killed one. Grey Stone has attempted to socially challenge them into ceasing but this has failed.

It seems to me that the cultists are going to continue until either dead or incredibly distracted. O Mighty Fat Cat would like to get them to stop chanting by way of distraction. He is on Amara's shoulder. Amara is running at them at top speed. How to distract a bunch of chanting people into cessation? O Mighty Fat Cat is a Lunar who can transform into different animal/monster shapes. He is in teeny bat form. I would like O Mighty Fat Cat to attempt the following crazy over-the-top (what I hope is) Exalted-style distraction:

1. Hop off of Amara's speeding shoulder to soar/gain altitude using her momentum as to be able to come down from above in the midst of the chanters (or on them). Kind of like as if Amara had thrown a stone at them while running full-tilt.
2. While above them, use his Heart's Blood Merit (3 ranks) to transform into a Tyrant Lizard (Legendary-sized Tyrannosaurus Rex).
3. Fall to the earth either amidst their group or on them (hopefully shaking the ground with his impact).
4. (And here's the really fun part). Immediately break into a roaring, kicking, earth-shaking song and dance routine making so much noise, earth-trembling, and using those gigantic Tyrannosaurus Rex feet to kick up debris (or kick up chanters) while doing the wildest, loudest, most-energetic jungle version of this classic Earth melody a la Spaceballs (and yes, he'll be singing and dancing in Rex form):

"Hello my Baby... spaceballs edition! :)"

I'll spend whatever resources O Mighty Fat Cat needs to boost his chances. He's got Charmed Existence to help a bit. I just don't know how to math right now. His Character Sheet is here.

If the dice are with O Mighty Fat Cat and he succeeds in doing this, it'll be one heck of a scene (at least in my head). And that's what Exalted is all about, right? If this doesn't distract them, I don't know what will. =)

Is this O.K.? What do you all think? Eonivar Eonivar jaydude jaydude Rykon Rykon Sherwood Sherwood Think it'll work?

I'm onboard just for the sheer spectacle of this.

Psychie Psychie Thanks!

Still, I really don't know what I'm doing system-wise. O Mighty Fat Cat is using Heart's Blood 3, but what should I be spending/rolling? How do I improve my odds? Remember, I don't know what I'm doing in Exalted. =)

Thanks for liking this idea everybody! I wanted something sudden, loud, and dramatic. I had a fun time putting it together. =)

Some of what you are doing to up your success is going to be done in a well-described stunt. For a dice pool, you are looking at Charisma + Presence, plus any motes you wish to spend in a Cha Excellency (if you have it, that is), and knowing how well you write, you will have another 2 dice from a stunt with a probable auto success from a level 2 stunt.

O.K.. Then all I need is enough brain to provide something akin to a worthwhile post (today... has been a challenging day... but it is over and I am home with my Kaerri). =)

I have forgotten what an Excellency is. All I remember is that it is not a Specialty and that I believe Rykon said they are potential game-changers (if my memory serves?). Help here, please? Sorry, I'm having a hard night but I still want to post this so I can stop holding up the game. Plus, this is fun. I could use some fun right now. This counts.

O.K.. Mathematically, this is what I'm coming up with. Sorry in advance for any oopses. =)

Charisma 4
Performance 0

Charmed Existence (remove a single 1).

I would like to spend a single Willpower point for an automatic success, please.

Glance Oration Technique (used earlier - should help here? Being a Tyrannosaurus Rex means O Mighty Fat Cat can't speak, but he can probably roar out the tune well enough that those who know it could identify it?)
Cost: 3m; Mins: Appearance 1, Essence 1
Type: Supplemental
Keywords: Mute
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: None

Through perfect control of her body and demeanor, the Lunar is capable of great expressiveness even without speech. She uses body language to convey an influence roll or a single sentence, ignoring the Resolve bonus for using body language (Exalted, p. 221). She can convey far more than usual through body language, though highly abstract concepts or complicated technical information remain beyond her.

Heart's Blood to perform the transformation into the Legendary-sized Tyrant Lizard.

• Two-Point Stunts: A two-point stunt stands above and beyond other stunts. These are intended to be less common than one-point stunts; to be a two-point stunt, the action needs to stand out memorably as a highlight of the scene.
Exceptional stunts on rolled actions are rewarded with two extra dice and one automatic success. Exceptional stunts on static value applications raise the static value by 2. A player might get two or three of these in an evening of play. Whenever a player describes a two-point stunt, her character gains a point of Willpower, up to a maximum of her permanent Willpower rating.

I don't know if Ties have anything to do with this. I imagine O Mighty Fat Cat is embodying the following three:

Defining Principle: I hate no one. (Da Chonk could be trying to kill these evildoers outright, but instead he's not giving into those emotions. Instead, he's trying to break their concentration in an effort to try and get them to surrender instead of die like their first buddy already has.)
Major Principle: I am a cat and I will do as I damn well please. =) (Da Chonk could care less if this is somehow not the "proper Lunar way" to go about doing things; this is the best idea he can come up with and to hell with any rulebooks that say otherwise.
Minor Principle: I never take myself TOO seriously. =) (Who could attempt something like this otherwise?)

Excellencies are the dice adder Charms that make you need buckets of dice to roll for your attack. Here is a quick excerpt from the Lunar's book about them:

Gaining Excellencies: Lunars automatically gain
the Excellency of each of their Caste and Favored
Attributes they have at 3+, or for which they know at
least one Charm. For each other Attribute, they must
either have it rated at 5 or know two Charms to unlock
its Excellency.

This means you have an Excellency for Str, Dex, Sta and Wits. I don't see any Cha-based Charms in your list, so it would seem that you don't have a Cha Excellency. What you can do with the stats you do have an Excellency for is this: You can double your Attribute for an instant, be it for an attack, defense, a feat of strength, or anything that you can use your Attribute for. This makes Lunars very tough to beat in any category that they have the Charm for.

In this case, you can also spend a temporary point of Willpower to get an Automatic Success, and if you manage to score a level 2 Stunt, you get that Willpower back to use again later on.
