Kaiya shook her head and she run her fingers through her hair." No, I was collecting berries before a small group of those demons attacked me and let us say that things didn't go my way and I dropped my berries and I guess you can guess the rest of the story." She laid back down and she stared straight ahead before closing her eyes to sleep once again but she wanted to give her thanks to him."Thank you, you can do whatever I guess, we can talk after I get my strength back." After she said that she fell asleep, her breathing normal for someone asleep.

He didn't move. He wouldn't move until she awoke. As much as he wanted to go hunt for food, he decided to wait until she was somewhat rested. At the very least he needed to explain how to communicate with him. Besides, she was his charge now. "Rest well. Nothing will get past me." Upon saying this, he channeled his magic and spawned a small pack of shadow dogs to circle the perimeter and alert him to anything hostile in the area. 'She doesn't seem rotten like the humans i've known. Then again, they didn't seem rotten either. Such fickle creatures.'

Kaiya was already long gone and she was dreaming, something that usually happened when she was in this state, but this time she dreamt about the one time that she had fallen out of a tree and injured herself. It was when she had decided to take up archery and she was practicing shooting from inside a tree and one arrow had caused her to lose her balance and fall down but then it changed over to something that she had hoped it wouldn't change to, the death of her entire village. Her breathing started getting heavier and she started sweating but she stayed in her dream and watched everyone die, including her parents. She couldn't take the dream anymore and so she woke up with her breath shakier and she sat up from where she was laying, her strength had almost entirely come back to her so she was in much better shape than before.

@TheWhiteLion

Was still where he had sat when she'd fallen asleep. He had heard the telltale signs of having a nightmare but kept his watch for any beasts outside. When she jolted up he only spared a glance in her direction before heading off to retrieve a glass of water. He handed her the glass wordlessly and sat back down at the bedside. 'Must have been a pretty nasty dream to make her react like that.' He had dreams like that before. Back when he had first joined the kings army and made his first few kills. He had been only... what, eight? Nine? It was hard to keep track of ones age after you figure out it doesn't matter anymore.

Kaiya took the glass of water that Kota offered and she took a sip of it before nodding. "Thank you." She set the glass on the table before going over to where her closet was and slipping on a green t-shirt and sitting back down on the bed, her movements a little stiff but she could move so that was a plus. She grabbed the glass again and started drinking it more before it was empty and Kaiya stood up once again to push the dish inside the sink and she grabbed a towel,wet it, and wiped it over her face while she leaned against the counter. "Hmm, it seems like the demons were more agitated than they usually were, a big pack like that wouldn't just attack like that but what would I know." She said this quietly to herself just that Kota wouldn't hear what she was saying if he came after her,hopefully he didn't,this girl just needed some alone time to think about what has happened so far today.

@TheWhiteLion

Unfortunately for his master, Kota had above average hearing and even a whisper in this enclosed space was like speaking normally to him. He didn't move towards her, however, and instead raised his voice to where she could hear, "Weaker demons tend to flock together in a pack, regardless of species. Strength in numbers is a sound strategy, but unless you can successfully coordinate your attacks you're only setting yourself up for failure." Sensing that she wanted to be alone, he stood and called two of his shadow beast back to defend the cabin, "By your leave, I'm going out to hunt." Being an ethereal entity he didn't require food or rest, but he wanted to at least 'pretend' he was truly alive again.

Kaiya jumped when Kota spoke to her and when he left to go hunting she set down the towel and started walking towards her bathroom before closing the door when she got inside. She started the water in her shower and she slowly took of her clothes and she unwrapped the bandages that were covering her wound. "That might need some stitches soon." She shrugged and stepped into the water before letting it go over her head and she started cleaning herself before turning off the shower water and drying off. She grabbed a fresh roll of gauze and she started wrapping her wound again before slipping back on her clothes but leaving her hair wet. She walked out of the bathroom and sat on the couch in the main part of the cabin where she could easily see the door and the kitchen.

@TheWhiteLion

He allowed himself a small smile as he bounded through the forest. The familiar rush of the hunt, the scent of his prey, and the wind guiding him along. The deer knew he was coming, but that was fine. It could not outrun him. He leapt between the trees, using them as stepping stones to propel himself forward, and bore down on his meal. The animal never felt a thing as it fell. Indulging in his bestial side a bit more than he should, he relished his kill by letting out a triumphant howl. His shadow beasts responded, though they did not join him on his hunt. After a moment he snapped out of his trance, berating himself for lack of control, and set about preparing the deer for the journey back. A bloody process, but he would find a river to wash himself in. He could use the lake, but he did not know how his master would react. Taking a moment, he opened up the mental link that the contract created to speak to his master telepathically, 'I am returning now.' And so he set off towards the cabin.

@CrystalYoshi

Kaiya jumped when she heard Kota's voice in her mind and she immediately stood before biting her lip as to how to communicate to him back but she honestly had no clue how to so she didn't. She instead went over into the kitchen and prepared water to be boiled for coffee. She eventually got her cup and she poured in the amount of cream and sweetener and she sat back down with her cup and she started drinking it slowly,waiting for Kota to come back. She eventually got relaxed and she closed her eyes before she started opening her mind up a little. 'Okay.'

@TheWhiteLion

'I'm impressed, Master. Without any explanation, you were able to open our link on your own.' He truly was impressed. Granted the only way 'he' knew how was the contract telling him. But she didn't need to know that.  His trek was rather uneventful, finding his way back to the cabin fairly easily. He rapped on the door to let her know he was back before setting about skinning and dividing up the meat. He had already gutted the thing and incinerated the remains so as not to leave a rotting, foul smelling, trail behind. It was a fairly small deer, hardly 150lbs, but would provide a fair amount of meat. 'I trust you are feeling well, Master?' He disliked the term, but he knew his role.

@CrystalYoshi

Kaiya wasn't surprised when she heard the door knocking since she knew the only thing out here for a hundred miles that would knock was Kota so she stood up up and went to grab something from her bedroom, a ponytail holder. She quickly braided her hair and she was happy with the way that it fell around her shoulders before she heard Kota talking to her again. 'Of course, I feel a lot better now that I actually got a shower in today but I need recollect my berries,I'll be back soon.' She grabbed her bow and her quiver with a few arrows she had placed in there a few moments ago and she left out the back door with a basket in her hand. She found the bushes she had been originally collecting her berries from and she started picking the freshest blueberries and strawberries she could possibly find.

@TheWhiteLion

Didn't respond, instead focusing on his work. He didnt bother to send a beast to watch her either, seeing as how she has recovered her strength. He also wasn't one for coddling. His task now finished, he hung the meat out to dry and once more headed into the woods towards the waterfall he'd heard last night. Arriving, he stripped himself and began to wash the blood off his body.

@CrystalYoshi

Kaiya eventually collected all of the berries she needed and she started making her way back home,humming an old song that her village used to sing at a time of peace and prosperity. Her feet moved along to the beat of the song and when she ended up at home she went inside and set the basket down before going back outside and continuing to dance, her movements graceful and the rest of the world blocked out of her mind,the only thing that mattered was the dance.

@TheWhiteLion

“M-Mother… P-Please st-stop… I-It hurts… No!” She shouted, desperately awaking from her nights slumber. Her crimson eyes stained with a dark red, as the black circles under her eyes showed her lack of sleep. Sitting up upon her bed, covering her face into her own scared palms. The porcelain skin was scarred with crimson cracks, and the same went for her legs as well. Obviously mana-burns from a previous incantation.

“That’s it, I can’t take this anymore!” Angered by her nightmares, she grabbed the glass sitting on her night stand and threw it against the wall. The sound of shattering glass echoed through the room. Storming out of her house, grasping an arrow-head and headed outside towards the fire-pit behind her house. Or what you would consider to be a house. It would barely suffice to be a Shed. All it had was a Bed, and a bathroom.

A sharp pain rang in her mind, collapsing into the field of grass. Anger, Hate, Sorrow and Despair. Memories of a horrible night came crashing into her head like a freight-train. “I-It’s not r-real… It d-didn’t hap-happen…” Tears began to form in her eyes once more, the pain becoming excruciating to her. “I-I said… STOP!” Dragging the arrow-head across her wrist, a yelp in pain escaped her lips.

Bright sigils and incantations formed around her, creating a literal ring of burning fire. Using her blood as a Catalyst, she began to form a contract seal. “Please whatever God is listening… Hear me out, I will give you anything I have in my possession… Just let me learn to love again…” Clenching her wrist tightly, the fire roared around her, creating a cyclonic-rift of fire. The contract was formed, and her pleas answered, as within the fire, the ash began to take shape. Into not one but two separate figures.

@SeratheUnicorn @Zelarous

Zelarous weighed the options that the foreign figure before him had proposed. He could rest now, or be given the chance to live again. The only thing the bothered him was the idea of being erased. 'Is there something beyond death?' he asked himself silently. He threw the idea out of his head, he wanted to live. His very soul cried out and he accepted the offer, though he his how anxious he was. The man before him continued to explain '...a master to serve?' he thought before a blinding light overtook him.

A dark figure began to take shape in the flames before stepping out before the poor woman. Zelarous looked at her scarred body. He felt an odd connection with the seemingly desperate woman, and it was then that he had realized it was his 'master'. He decided he would server her and this contract as he would have in any other contract in his past life. Though to be honest, he wasn't too sure on what exactly he was supposed to do.

He noticed that blood was dripping through the woman's clutched fingers. His eyes lit up for a moment, knowing that if she were to be harmed or killed, that he would be 'erased', the word echoed in his mind. He walked towards her and gently grabbed the woman's wrist with his left hand and applying pressure with the right. "Let's get something and stop this bleeding." he said realizing he had not introduced himself to his new master. "I am your servant Zelarous, and I will do what is needed of me."

@Tsukihi @SeratheUnicorn

Finishing his bath, he washed his clothing and dried them out long enough to wear again and redressed. As he made his way back to the cabin, he caught the scent of his master nearby and, with nothing else really to do, followed it to her. What he saw when he reached her... made him stop. It wasn't anything spectacular about the dance, or the way she dance that froze him. It was a memory that held him in place as surely as the one who danced with him in it. It wasn't rare for the King to throw parties after a successful campaign. Or just in general. And since he was a figure of importance, Kota was also required to attend. He smiled softly, watching her. It was probably one of the few things he'd found enjoyable in life.

@CrystalYoshi

Kaiya failed to notice that Kota was watching her and she just kept going, speeding up where the song started going faster. Usually this dance required two people but she improvised almost the entire thing just because she enjoyed the song so much. Her smile was clearly visible and she also failed to realize that she looked genuinely happy, the first time since her parent's death. She finished the song facing away from Kota and she moved her braid back into place before turning to face the other way to find Kota staring at her. Kaiya's cheeks flushed a little and she looked down at the ground. "I assume you saw me dancing, I'm not that great at it am I?"

She was shocked, that the incantation actually worked. Thinking this to be impossible, she was more so surprised than anything. Her crimson eyes simply stared at the male. This was something new to her, she hadn’t anyone ever care for like this before. His hand wrapped around the open wound, sent a sharp pain down her arm. “Plea-Please it hurts…” Keeping her head low, her main focus at this time was to get the wound close. A bright light poured out with her blood, small specs of what looked to be embers.

“I’m Velvet, nice to m-meet you…” The continued pain that came from her wrist, and the extensive amount of Mana she had just spent summoning two servants. Happiness filled her sullen heart, and exhaustion. Her crimson red hues, quickly turned glossy, and her vision faded to black. She collapsed in the males arms, suffering from a lack of energy to continue. She was out like a light, the wound still bleeding profusely, as the embers that stained her blood, began to grow dull.

Just like that, his mask tried to snap back into place, but he held it a bay for a moment, "On the contrary. I rather enjoyed it..." He entered the clearing now, finding his legs able to move once more, "It reminded me of the times when I danced. Time where I could forget the war... the death and bloodshed in the name of the undeserving." He frowned, the bitterness resurfacing but he squashed it down. "I... thank you. For reminding me of better times."

@CrystalYoshi

Zelarous felt the white haired girls head hit his chest. 'I have got to stop the bleeding.' he thought. That is when he noticed something. He had on the same exact things he had on the day he died. 'That might mean...' he thought as he held the girl with his right arm and rummaged his pockets with his left. Surely enough he found what he had been looking for. He grabbed the piece of cloth he had carried on his 'missions', if one could call it that. He wrapped it around Velvet's wrists, keeping them tight in hope to stop or at least slow the bleeding.

He held the girl and knelt down before hearing a roar in the flames. It had taken him by surprise, and instinctly he looked towards the noise. A figure seemed to be taking shape in the flames. "What is going on..." he muttered to himself, wondering if it could possibly be another servant being raised. Perhaps it was something else, he did not know. He held velvet closer to keep her safe if anything happened. If she died, he would be 'erased'.

The blood began to coagulate at the opening of the wound, as it seemed she was in a more peaceful state of mind. Sleep is what she needed, the consistent nights of nightmares. The lack of sleep, and nutritional substance was taking a toll on her body.

This was the first time in weeks, she slept like the term “Dead as a Door-nail”. The fire around them began to fade, and quickly disappeared, as it had arrived. The second figure, still having its shape take form. Perhaps this will take some time. She tensed, as the cold-breeze once again began to whip past her. She was cold, shivering.

Kaiya nodded and walked over closer to where Kota was before stopping at a  comfortable distance for the both of them and she smiled again. "Well thank you, I've never gotten a compliment about my dancing before so I just assumed that I was bad at it, I only danced by myself when I was absolutely sure no one else was watching me." She shook her head to clear those memories out of her head and brought her hand up to her hair,intending to take out the braid. "I also did my hair but I'm thinking I should take out the braid and let it be straight for now. She then remembered something important then and she looked over Kota's clothes, she still hadn't taken out the braid yet but her hand was still on the tie that was keeping it held together. "By the way, I'm very good at sewing so if you ever have something that needs to be sewed back together then I'm your girl to fix it."

@TheWhiteLion

Zelarous looked around himself, noticing that Velvet was shivering. There had to be somewhere that they could use as shelter. Noticing a small house like structure, he began to head towards it while carrying the girl in his arms. He was cautious, not knowing if someone lived in the house, or if it was his master's. It was close to where she summoned him after all. Walking slowly up to the front door he peaked through the cracks in the wood and listened for noises coming from the inside. Hearing nothing Zelarous slowly opened the door as it made a creaking noise, which might alert someone if they were near, yet no one came. He searched the small house before setting the girl on a bed. It was probably best that she rested, she looked drained.

Once sure they were truly alone he went outside to gather some small twigs, brush, and sticks. With this he came back to the house and started a small fire so that his master would stay warm while she rested. He sat on the floor, his back against the wall in silence. He would stay awake to make sure that no harm came to her.
