Indentured

"As I said, I rather enjoyed it. I don't have much of a reason to dance anymore, so it is refreshing to see someone else take pride in the art." He didn't comment on her hair, but he thought it looked fine in a braid. He then followed her gaze to his clothes, and raised an eyebrow at her, "I see. I'll keep that in mind if I ever decide to become a pin cushion." It was supposed to come off as a joke, but his natural tone might have passed it as an unintended insult.

@CrystalYoshi

Kaiya nodded again and she moved her hands away from her braid. "Of course, I think I'm going to go back inside and make a fresh pot of coffee." She turned around and went back inside from the back door and shut it closed before pouring out the pot of coffee and staying to brew another one and got it two mugs this time, just in case Kota wanted a cup. "Hmm, I guess he might take me up on my offer, I am good at what I do." She smiled and laughed a little before she poured a cup for herself and put in the proper amount of cream and sugar again for herself and drinking some of it, before sitting on top of the counter.

Kota went about taking the dried meat down and gathered it up as best he could before bringing it inside.  (yes i know meat takes a while longer to dry, but humor me a little.) "It isn't much, but it should be enough for a few meals. Do you have a place to store this?" The aroma coming from the cup on the counter intrigued him, but as his hands were full, he didn't really have a chance to investigate.

@CrystalYoshi

Kaiya nodded and slid off the counter with her coffee in hand before beckoning Kota and leading him outside and towards the side the house was a little storage house. "It can function as a little storage area or as a refrigerator so I guess you can put it in there." She had taken note of his interest in the coffee and she took a sip before sighing. "Do you want a cup of coffee, I have enough for the both of us."

@TheWhiteLion

He places the meat inside, saving enough to make a meal for that moment. "Hmm. I don't see why not." That being said, he went about to gather sticks around the cabin to make a fire to roast the meat. "I don't believe I've ever heard of the drink back home. Wine, water, or ale were our drinks of choice. I preferred water." He couldn't stand ale or wine, nevermind that it dulled he senses the taste was horrible. Add to the fact that it was, in essence, rotten berries or grains ground up and then pressed into a bottle. No thank you.

@CrystalYoshi

Zelarous looked around himself, noticing that Velvet was shivering. There had to be somewhere that they could use as shelter. Noticing a small house like structure, he began to head towards it while carrying the girl in his arms. He was cautious, not knowing if someone lived in the house, or if it was his master's. It was close to where she summoned him after all. Walking slowly up to the front door he peaked through the cracks in the wood and listened for noises coming from the inside. Hearing nothing Zelarous slowly opened the door as it made a creaking noise, which might alert someone if they were near, yet no one came. He searched the small house before setting the girl on a bed. It was probably best that she rested, she looked drained.

Once sure they were truly alone he went outside to gather some small twigs, brush, and sticks. With this he came back to the house and started a small fire so that his master would stay warm while she rested. He sat on the floor, his back against the wall in silence. He would stay awake to make sure that no harm came to her.

@Tsukihi @SeratheUnicorn

She found rest in her own bed-once more, the presence of another brought more comfort to her restless nights. Her shivering halted, as the fire began to take shape in the cabin of sorts. A small light emitted from the cloth wrapped around her wrist, the wound was beginning to close, as it seemed the smoke from the fire began to make it's way towards her sleeping body. Almost as if she was pulling the energy from the embers itself.

In the corner of the room, the fire made what looked like to be a Bow, shine brightly. The gleam of the light, emitting off of the shiny metals. It was her personal weapon of choice. Her bow Ephix, crafted of rare metals and used to destroy most of her foes. It sat against the wall, next to a quiver of arrows, ready to be used at a moments notice. (Think I'm going to pick up tomorrow when I've had sleep.)

Kaiya shrugged and she followed him before asking him a vital question. "How do you want it then, sweet, kinda sweet kinda bitter, or bitter?" Yep, some people are very finicky about their coffee so she had to ask before she screwed it up and no one likes screwing up so better to know now than later. "I can't stand ale and I have drunken my fair share of wine before, just prefer coffee, water, and hot chocolate better but I digress." She watched as he gathered sticks to make a fire before sipping more of her coffee. "So what are you going to make?"

@TheWhiteLion

Kota considered his options, "Hmm... I'm not sure. I suppose I'll try it your way first and go from there." When he had gathered enough wood, he knelt down and stretched his hand towards the pile, "Light." A small spark shot out of his hand, igniting the wood. Saving a few of the longer sticks, he speared a portion of meat on each one and set them over the fire. "A simple roast for now. Unfortunately I'm not nearly as prepared as I once was, but sometimes it is simplicity that makes for a fine meal."

@CrystalYoshi

Zelarous examined the room as he sat. The girl seemed to have an affinity with fire. The embers, being summoned in flames, the smoke, etc. He didn't know what she was though, he didn't try to draw any conclusions. He simply watched his master from the other side of the room, and slowly his head began to sink. He jerked his head up realizing that he was falling asleep. Perhaps coming back from the dead was taxing on his body, he felt zapped of his energy. It wasn't long after that he succumbed to sleep. He couldn't help it, after all he was human.

Aquata came through late, having taken longer to reassemble in the ashes. Water was more her thing. She didn't want to do this, to help out another person who would probably name her a devil and make her do horrible things... But she had no choice, if she wanted to get back to...Him. She stepped out, brushing the Ashes off herself.

"Sorry I'm late your Royal..." Aquata trailed off, her sassy explanation ruined by the sight in the room.  There were not one but two sleeping people in the room. Was that supposed to happen? Two masters? Something told her that this man was not her summoner. The voice wouldn't be right, and his face was too... Cold, and detached. Then who was he?

Was he a thief, or assassin? Unlikely. A thief wouldn't pick this house, by the look of things, and an Assassin wouldn't fall asleep. Was he a family friend of the girl? No. That didn't match her summon.  What then?

Aquata teleported silently into a chair in the corner of the room, and started levitating the water in the air, manipulating it and watching the patterns. She would wait until they woke up, and until then, watch over her.

@Zelarous @Tsukihi

Sorry, just woke up, my time zone is different.

The morning sun, broke through the curtains of the shack. The feint smell of cinder and ash made her nose tickle for a moment. Cracking her eye's open, she seemed to only remember a few details from the previous night. She glanced at the ceiling of her room, and rolled onto her side. Sitting up rather quickly she counted the number of people in her room. Starting with her self. "One... Two... Three." Oh right, she had forgotten she made the pact.

The slight pain in her wrist made her wince for a moment. Carefully untying the cloth around her wrist, in an attempt to not re-open the wound. Tying it up once more, climbing off of her bed, dazed and still slightly confused. She spoke to the two. "Good morning... I'm Velvet it's a pleasure to have you." In a good Gesture to the two Servants. Bowing her head in respect, following up with a curtsy.

Aquata released the water into the air as her master awoke, leaving only vapour. She seemed to be injured, but healing, so she didn't need assistance. Hmm. Interesting. She did feel a connection with this girl, and she hadn't even spoken yet. She spared barely a glance for the man on the floor, as the girl introduced herself. Velvet... Nice name. Unique, like hers.

Aquata raised her eyebrow. Polite. Huh. That was more than most people gave her, but she didn't know she was a Siren. She decided then and there, she would do this properly, but with as much sass as she could muster. She sank into a slightly exaggerated curtesy. "Aquata, your humble servant. Oh, you should know, I'm a siren. Just out of curiosity, what do I look like to you?" She asked. She appeared differently to everyone, and sometimes that was an indication of what a person was like.

Zelarous was awoken , hearing voices in the room. He blankly stared looking over the room. It seemed that Velvet was awake and the other one was too.....wait a second. He jolted up out of confusion and put his hand on the handle of his katana. It took him a few seconds to realize that this was the other 'thing' that was forming. He looked the new woman over and his eyes widened for a moment before returning to normal.

He had seen this woman before, it was brief but he would never forget that woman. On one occasion Zelarous regretted one of the contracts he had carried out. It wasn't an emotional thing for him but the girl was absolutely beautiful. He had the most odd feelings after he had dispatched her that night. He remembered her pale face, light blue eyes, and her long black hair. Had she been summoned back to life as well? This would make for an interesting situation, but Zelarous was sure the woman would not remember him. She had never seen him, and she had not seen him that night either. He couldn't help but feel a sense of....guilt if you could call it that. He shook off the feeling and just stared for a moment before returning his gaze to the master.

@Arius LaVari

 (I really must apologize to everyone and most of all to you Arius, I've been indisposed due to...personal issues, which will be resolved within the next couple days.)

Blinded, Yukine stumbled back into the realm of existence. It hit him like a brick to the head, memories flooding back in a blur of sights, sounds, smells, emotions...all so fast he felt some of it slipped away, like water cupped in his hands. As he emerged, he could feel the start of a pounding in his chest, the rush of air pushed through his lungs." I...I'm alive! This really is a second chance.", he whispered in amazement. His vision clearing rapidly, he first inspected himself-dressed in his usual white t-shirt, blue  jeans and green overcoat. Curious. This must have been what he was wearing when he died, but strangely, he couldn't remember what happened. This thought he brushed aside, convinced he'd soon recall. I wonder where I ended up. And when for that matter. He looked about the room with soft, strangely bright orange eyes, finally coming to rest on the figure across from him. Yukine bowed in greeting and ran a hand nervously through his blonde hair as he spoke up, "I heard your wish through the void and I am to help you achieve it. My name is Yukine." The left corner of his mouth curved upwards in a awkward smile.

She took a step back, as the male had place his hand on his weapon. She was fearful of having to fight so soon, but as he quickly lowered himself so did she. Turning her gaze back towards the female. Her eyes widening as she began to take shape of someone who Velvet knew all to well. "You, look like my Mother... When I was just a girl. Short brunette hair, hazel eyes. The same scar on her neck." It was like she was staring into a ghost. She already had pale skin, if any more color would leave her face. She be translucent, turning her gaze to the male figure. "I remember you, from last night... Thank you for taking care of me." Bowing her head in respect once more to the figure. "If you'll both please pardon me, I need to change" A light blush stained her cheeks, as she had forgotten she was still in her Pajamas.

@SeratheUnicorn @Zelarous

Aquata noticed that the other man had awoken. She was about to ask him who he was, when she noticed the way he was looking. He looked shocked, then intrigued. Why... Oh. She had seen this reaction before. He must recognise the girl he saw. She sighed. Either this girl was very important to him, or the most beautiful thing he had seen. If the latter, he must not have the best imagination.

Her master clearly recognised her too. Her mother? That was actually sweet. Most people saw an ex girlfriend or something equally as dumb, or whatever their imaginations could come up with. It was kind of touching actually.

Best to clear this up before the man got really confused. "Hi, my name is Aquata. I don't know who you are seeing, but I am a Siren. Please remember that it is just an illusion, and I am not her." She had told people this many times before. It usually lead to shouting and screaming of 'Demon' or something similar, but considering the situation, it shouldn't be too weird. Judging by the fact her master found this man completely usual he must be another servant. She frowned. Surely that wasn't supposed to happen.

"I'm assuming you are a servant as well, since she hasn't asked me to beat you up or anything similar." He told him as an afterthought. She turned to her master. "Feel free to change,I will wait here." She told her.

Being somewhat surprised that Velvet had thanked him for doing something he was contracted to do came off as odd to him. He had never been thanked for an assassination, unless the money counts. Either way he bowed his head for a moment without saying anything to acknowledge her before turning to the Siren. 'So, it wasn't her after all.' he thought. He had mixed emotions about the whole ordeal, as subtle as they were, but in the end he felt somewhat relieved.

"My name is Zelarous." he answered her. "I suppose I am a servant, or at least that is what that man called me before I came back to life." he was still somewhat confused about the whole ordeal. He had never heard much about servants, masters, or any of that. He wondered if this was perhaps a future where such things were common place. He sat back down and silently waited for the master to change into something more suitable. He wondered what a servant was even supposed to do. Did they even have a true purpose?

Kaiya nodded and she listened to what her said they were going to have before nodding again more firmly and going back inside without a word before she poured him his coffee and putting in her amount of things in there before stirring it for him. She always liked her coffee a little bit sweet and a little bit bitter but maybe her wouldn't like it like that but she didn't know that answer and neither did he it seemed. She sighed and took both cups back outside and gave the full one over to Kota. "Well, here you go, just how I like it."

He took the cup, thanking her before taking a sip. "It's.... Not what i expected." It was certainly going to be a acquired taste, but he kept sipping and watching the meat. "Forgive me. I feel like I was projecting my anger towards the people who betrayed me onto you. You do not deserve that."

Kaiya looked confused for a second before watching the meat cook, she shrugged and went across from where Kota was so that she could look at him from the other side of the fire. She could tell that the embers were reflecting onto her eyes but she kept drinking until the mug was completely empty. "It's okay, I thought coffee was weird when I first tried it but you just have to keep drinking it and finding out your own balance." She looked up at the sky for a second before closing her eyes and sighing a mix of a happy and sad sigh. "Well, I think that whoever betrayed you made a mistake and that I think I can understand why you would not trust me because of it." She walked back over to where Kota was and stared up at him before giving him a small smile, something that was rare for the girl nowadays. "You have to remember though that I'm not them, I can't change what they did to you but believe me when I say this, I will never betray you ever, got it?" She didn't wait for an answer as she went back inside and sat down on the floor, making sue her mind was closed off so Kota couldn't hear her thoughts, and just started thinking about the day so far and what tomorrow would bring.

@TheWhiteLion

He stared after her, one part stunned, the other part grateful. And a bit sad. "I want to believe you..." He this says aloud though he knows she cannot hear him, "Truly, I do. But scars run deep, and do not heal as easily as other wounds. Something I feel we might have in common. However, when the men and women who fought by your side, bled with you, laughed with you, and sang of battle with you... then cry out for your death because of something you had no control over..." He returns to tending the food, but it is clear his mind is elsewhere now.

Kaiya grabbed her bow and her quiver of arrows before going outside, her intentions clearly about archery practice. SHe didn't go far from the cabin so that Kota wouldn't worry too much about her but far enough to be properly alone. She stopped and got out an arrow before wincing when she pulled back the arrow, her back sending up a jolt of pain. She stood there for a few moments before dropping the arrow and kneeling on the ground. "Crap, I can't pull back this arrow the proper length, well I can't do anything about it except for trying not to get into many fights now until my wound is completely healed." She started to make her way back to her cabin before going inside the front door and setting her weapon carefully on her bedside table before lying on her bed and opening the connection back with Kota just in case he needed to talk to her.

Kota watched her go and return, noting the slight limp as a result of her larger injury. Feeling their connection reestablish he does not bring up the wound, no need in mentioning something she no doubt already knew of, and instead informs her that their food is done. A rustling in the bushes nearby makes him spring into a combat stance immediately, however. 'Master, something is here. Stay hidden for now.' His hand gripping the hilt of his blade, he called out, "Show yourselves."

At his word, two mages stepped out into the clearing hands raised in a show of non hostility, "That was our intention, I assure you. We mean you no harm." Similarly, two mages also presented themselves to the other groups in the same manner.

( @StormyDay You're fine! I try to be as courteous as possible when in a group. Real life comes first.)

Yarisa lifted their gaze, lavender eyes lifting as a boy appeared in front of them. The kid didn't look very helpful, but they could sense the chaos in the boy's head. Long white strips of hair fell around their face, with a slight body but harder facial features it was impossible to tell if Yarisa was a man or woman, they were in a hospital gown right now though. A very soft voice, so close to a woman's, suddenly rose to his ears, hard to hear except there was utter silence in the room. "Yukine...that's a nice name. You may call me Yarisa." Lavender eyes narrowed on him slightly before their head tilted to the side a little, "My wish? What are you...? A familiar...? No familiars are mindless, you're not, I can hear it, the chaos in your soul..." They mumbled softly before sitting up fully then pulling them self to their feet, taller than they had appeared. "Well you can answer my questions, stay with me for now, yes?" They pulled the hospital curtain around the bed and changed into their normal clothes, they just needed to fill out the paperwork and they could leave, which was a fairly quick process as the pair made their way outside into the city, the one leading not speaking but still waiting on the answers to their questions.

They were stopped suddenly though when two people stood before the pair on their way to Yarisa's home. They had just been beaten down and were not looking forward to getting hurt again, so instead of freezing Yarisa flipped out their fan and glared, the voice suddenly powerful and stern, "Just who might you be and what are you doing blocking our path?"

Lakyta had been silent for far too long, as she had made her way into the city while carrying the girl she was bound to for the moment, she wasn't overwhelmed so much as she stood out like a sore thumb and she realized that very quickly, what she didn't understand was where she even was, but she pushed the thought away for now. "Ashara...I need so-" Her voice stopped suddenly as people stepped in front of them and Lakyta moved to stand in front of Ashara, they apparently meant no harm but she was already raising another small ball of silver from the pouch on her hip, as a safety precaution, though she didn't speak a word, simply kept angry red eyes focused on the problem before her.

Sorry for the delay, had a lot of shit to deal with. @Zelarous @SeratheUnicorn

Velvet did not want to keep her guests waiting long. She would have to explain her whole situation to them. And more importantly who she was. Looking in a broken mirror as she began to put her hair up, into a side-ponytail. She dropped her hair-tie, looking down to retreive the small wrap, she looked back up the two figures standing in her room. Immediately she clenched her fist, the sudden flash of light, and the feint scent of cinder. "Zelarous! Aquata! To my aid!" She shouted, loud enough for someone even outside to hear her. Keeping her battle-stance faced to the two mages she paused for a moment. "Who are you..." She questioned the strangers, who had just trespassed into her home.
