"No, you deserve better than this, Tallah." Mac said, as he looked over at the elf boy. It hurt him to see his caretaker like this.

"I mean, everyone has gone through a heartache. It's just what happens. And we all end up paying the price. But at no point should you blame yourself for something like this. I mean, if Garren can't see you for how awesome you are, that's his fault. Not yours." The large man chuckled to himself. "Hell, you healed me without question when he just dropped me in here. You are amazing, Tallah. I'm sure that there is a way that could bring you back. I wanna help you." The man smiled a hopeful smile, and patted his back.

"Okay?"

Tallah was silently stunned. He had not expected someone like Mac to have such a soft heart, and it showed plainly on his face. He drew back from the man to get a better look at him. "Why do you feel such a need to comfort me? We know nothing about each other, and there is no reason for you to care." He asked the large man in a voice overflowing wuth acute curiosity.

"Whoa, that's cool! Let's call it... Hmm... Badass Mountain!" Lyla said, "I like that name!" She grinned, looking at the dusty barren wasteland. "Everything's so red, I bet some awesome story teller could come up with a cool myth to explain that"

"I think you'll wind up being the only one to ever call it that." Garren laughed heartily as he led Lyla along the path her hand still intertwined with his. "I bet the planet was once the battleground of a great and powerful race. They fought themselves into oblivion until only the blood they'd spilt remained. Don't forget to keep walking. We're on a tight schedule."

"That's what I was thinking!" She said. "Hey, why do we gotta hurry? Are we going somewhere else?" She asked, "Aww, wait, do we gotta go back so quick?"

"Well, you saved my life. That's a reason to care for your well being, is it not?" Mac said with a laugh.

"That's what I was thinking!" She said. "Hey, why do we gotta hurry? Are we going somewhere else?" She asked, "Aww, wait, do we gotta go back so quick?"

"We aren't going back, yet. There's an earthrise to watch, so come on." He led her through a portal at the end of the corridor to a grayed out landscape surrounded by a black sky and countless stars. The horizon was closer still and the ground was pocked with many craters. "We needed to see that." Turning Lyla around while also slowing their steps to a leisurely pace, he let her watch as the brilliant blue and green radiance of the Earth poked up over the horizon. Surrounded by such darkness, the Earth appeared almost too real.

"Well, you saved my life. That's a reason to care for your well being, is it not?" Mac said with a laugh.

"No, it isn't. Healers save lives because it is what we are good at, what we enjoy doing. We expect nothing more than a thank you and recompense for what we'd lost in doing so. Few are willing to pay anything more than trade items or their money, especially not their attention."

"Alright then, I am just a generally caring person, and I think that you are absolutely amazing, and also adorable."

Lyla couldnt believe it, her mind was exploded. "Wow! It's so cool and pretty!" She said rather loudly in her excitement. She almost stopped walking, watching the earth rise.

((Bold aren't we? It won't be that easy.))

Tallah looked at Mac with open shock. "Adorable? Who gave you the right to think that I'm adorable?" Tallah feigned indignation as he stood up hurriedly and snatch up Mac's cup to refill with tbe healing tea. His cheeks flamed slightly as he strode to the hearth and grabbed the pot. "Y-you don't exactly project an image of kindness and caring, especially not when you're separated from your gun." He poured to pot with the slightest shiver in his grip.

Garren nudged her into a snail's crawl pace. "Nuh uh, keep walking. This portal path stays in affect only if you are taking it. If you stand still,  you'll be exposed to the harshness of whatever's out there,  and trust me when I tell you that this path wouldn't be here if out there were safe for people to walk around in." He swung behind Lyla wrapping his left arm around her waist and hold her right hand out. "Earth isn't the only thing pretty around here." He leaned in close and whispered into her left ear.

Lyla tensed up and instantly her left arm bent and shot up and back, her elbow connecting with Garren's face. That reaction was not really planned, it was instinct to attack. And when she realized that her body moved faster than her brain thought, she instantly apologized. "Holy crap I'm sorry! Don't scare me like that!"

Garren saw her elbow coming but decided it was best to just take the elbow to the face since he'd gotten a little to fresh with her. What didn't see coming was the gusher of a nose bleed that resulted from the elbow making direct contact with his sniffer. Grunting lightly, he stepped back cupping his nose with his left hand. He didn't stop leading Lyla however. "Uh, nope it was my fault. You're a fighter. I should've figured your instincts would kick in with an unfamiliar individual." He smiled at her apologetically even as a red river began leaking through his fingers.

(( that was good! LOL))

(Hehe it was the first thing that came to mind)

"Well, be more careful next time bucko" She reached back and opened the pouch that was tied to her hip, bringing out a green cloth and offered it to Garren. "I didnt break your nose, did I?"

He refused the cloth nonchalantly. "Yep,  definitely broken, but Tallah can fix this easy when we get back. Next time, I'll woo you real good. The only instinct you'll have is to get closer." His liquid began shifting into reds and yellows and browns, like a fire, literally smoldering. Somehow, he managed to still look handsome with his nose bleeding. Pulling a clamp out of his pocket, Garren placed it on his nose to halt the bleeding. There was a sickening crunch and pop as he reset his nose in the process. "Ooh, That stung a bit."

Nothing worth while was around her... Well, maybe not. The further she walked, the more violent and shaky the ground got. It was in rhythm, shake, pause, shake, pause, shake, pause. Soon enough, a large stone hand landed beside the female, and large stone creature lumbered into view. His one glowing blue eye stared at her as he looked down upon her.

( I legit ship everyone )

Pop-eyed, Niklaus pivoted on her heels, trying to create distance between her and the.. creature? Without hesitation, her bow was drawn from the side with fumbling hands. An arrow was extracted from the quiver, making her prepared to shoot if there was no other alternative. However, she doubted that any projectile she fired at the being would penetrate its body. She had difficulty believing that it wouldn't harm her either- for she knew that she would've been pulverized if the hand had been an inch closer, just like the mosquito she had associated herself with earlier.

(Oh god I remember when I broke my nose. I can never unhear the bones grinding together)

Lyla grinned, "Oh is that right? You seem rather confident about that statement" She said, commenting on his sentence that he'll get her next time. She put the cloth away, and flinched when she heard the bones and she shuttered. "No matter how many fights I've been in, bone grosses me out" She muttered.

Rumble saw the weapon and tilted its large stone head, leaning down and 'sniffed' her, then growled. Seemed pretty darn threatening.

(she isn't one to be scared, but I don't think even I would be calm with a giant mountain almost crushing me)

Niklaus couldn't move from her position, as if frozen. Never before had she come across such a being, and now, she wasn't positive if she had the right to call herself a giantess. A growl tore her from the trance, causing her hands to release the thread without purpose. The projectile swerved through the air, doing its best to insert itself in the body of the giant.. stone-thing. It failed, of course, and the arrow slipped to the ground in shambles. "Oh gods.."

(Yea, scary stuff)

Rumble snarled, now realizing she was trying to hurt him. He raised his stone fist and brought it down in her direction, missing her by inches and causing the earth to shake violently.

((My cousin used to pop his nose really loudly just to freak my family out, and I don't mean the thumbnail against teeth thing either. He'd literally press his nose between his thumps and *POP!* it was cool and gross.))

Garren's cocky grin got more intense. "Oh, I can be pretty persuasive when I'm of the mind." He chuckled deeply before winking suggestively. "Anyway,  if you're done looking at the Earth,  we should be getting back to it. My nose is actually kinda annoying."

(Oh no! CRINGE! That reminds me of that guy who broke his thumb by bending it backwards)

"Yea, let's go." She nodded. "Hey, out of curiosity, where else can we go?" She asked. Like, could they go anywhere anytime? That'd be cooool!

"My gun holds the soul of my father, so yeah, I'm a bit protective." Mac said, with a bit of sass in his tone. But he cooled down as soon as he politely took his cup back, and took a sip. The sweet flavor of cinnamon and peppermint always calmed him down.

"Plus you're different. I like you. A lot, actually. I think you're pretty cute."

 ((gross))

"In my experience? I can go anywhere, but the only way to be consistent with where I appear is to have traveled there before or have an object with a strong affinity for where I'd want to go. Come on. We'll take the scenic route." He pulled her into another portal and soon,  they were flying through a portal tube over the sea and through island ruins.

Their hands brushed as Mac took his cup, and Tallah snatched his hands back without making it obvious. "That's an interesting way to honor your dead." He blushed visibly as Mac called him cute. "No one ever calls me cute. Everyone's afraid that it'll offend me somehow.  Also, my people tend to give me a wide berth. They're somewhat afraid of me." Tallah took his cup and sat down on the couch proper. Noticeably closer to Mac but still a respectable gap.

(Shoot! I tried to initiate a joke, 'where else can we go?' 'hmm, the nearest bed' lol)

Lyla yelped as she was pulled through another portal, and it startled her even more to see ocean under her. And guess who was deathly afraid of swimming. "You had better get us to dry land" She said, starting to shake a bit. "I aint joking either"

((He's a gentleman.))

Garren noticed Lyla's uneasiness and flashes them through a portal so that they were flying over fields of wild roses of all colors. "Sorry, I didn't realize that you were uncomfortable with water. Is this a little better?" He looked at Lyla with concerned eyes.

(But the joke was therrrrre)

Lyla started to feel a lot better once they were above dry land. She took a couple breaths to calm herself down, then nodded to Garren. "Yea, a lot better. Thanks" She was glad she wasnt afraid of heights or anything like that, its not often when swimming is in her profession. She noticed all the different colors and it easily distracted her from her thoughts, "Whoa! That's really neat looking!" She commented.

((Garren's a flirter, but I'm really not.))

"These are the Remembered Fields. Legend says that each rose is a memorial of a soul that has passed beyond this world. No one ever comes here because it is a place of absolute peace and quiet. We mortals are never truely peaceful or quiet and would irk the flowers fiercely. Luckily, I got thrown by a giant over these fields once, and into a tree. It hurt like no one's business, but at least I get to travel here whenevr I please now, and I don't ever have to worry about troubling the flowers." As they flew over a small patch of tiny flowers, Garren bent the portal tube into several loop-de-loops. As they circle the patch, they burst into flurries of petals and disappeared into the sky. "Looks like a couple babies were just born."

"My dad was Vulcan. When he kicked the bucket, his soul transferred to the gun. It made it extremely powerful. If it sounds dumb, you're right." Mac said, sipping his tea. He almost laughed when he saw Tallah blush like that. This little elf boy was adorable.

"I don't mean to offend you, but I don't see why people would be afraid of you period. You're a cute little elf with an expertise in making tea and healing people. You live in a quaint shack in the woods, and you protect a forest. If that isn't adorable, I don't know what is."

"Your father was a god?" Tallah cast Mac a questing glance. "That explains much." He whispered under his breath. "All you see is what I am now. Before, I could bring about thunderstorms and earthquakes with a single spell. I also think you are not aware of the role of the Voice. We Speak for Tree and Sky, passing judgement on the mortals that live beneath the two. Though rarely does a Voice Speak, the fear of their power is palpable."
