Jamie smiled happily and soon drove them out to breakfast. By the time they got home he could tell that Carmen wasn't feeling the best and it was starting to worry him "Carmen? Darling are you alright?"

Max sat down and took a shaky breath as they pressed play on the tablet. She gasped when she saw the truck hit him and did her best to stay composed. She shook her head softly as they took the tablet away "Carver....That's Jason Carver's truck."

She looked over and nodded frowning a little. “Yeah I’m alright. Just ate too much.” She told him quietly and smiled a little trying to reassure him “You worry too much handsome.” She smiled again, pecking his lips and turning to head into the kitchen to throw away the trash from Jamie’s car she’d pulled out but she only made it a few steps in when she felt really woozy and stumbled for a step then passed out.

He nodded and frowned. “Thank you… we’ll look into it.” He assured her and escorted her back to the room again “You have any questions at all you give us a call okay? At the minute it’s an attempted murder charge but if … if anything happens that could escalate.” He explained then left her to it.

Aaron was sat there with Iris frowning some while she played games on his phone to keep her busy. “Mom… why don’t you go see dad.” He suggested not wanting her to end up freaking Iris out more.

Jamie got out of the car and headed inside with her giving a small sigh. He frowned deeply when he heard a loud thud "Carmen?!" He called rushing into the kitchen going wide eyed seeing her "Carmen! Shit!" He yelled pulling out his phone calling an ambulance.

Max came into the room and took a deep breath "I'll call you okay?" She said quietly before going to Eddie.

He nodded and sighed a little worried about all of them

Eddie was doing worse than before but he was awake still at least and the swelling on his face had started to go down. He was just in more pain than they could ideally handle. “Max? That you?” He mumbled hearing her footsteps but it was hurting his eyes to open them at the minute with the lights on.

Carmen came to in an ambulance frowning. “Jamie? Where’s Jamie?” She mumbled frowning some not seeing him in there with her.

Max frowned deeply as she got into the room letting a few tears fall "Hey babe, yeah its me." She said taking his okay hand in hers kissing it gently "I love you Eddie....so much." She murmured

The EMT gave a small frown as she came around "Mr. Bower is on his way to the hospital. He is following behind us." He explained gently to her.

he frowned and tried to squeeze her hand back but there wasn’t much grip in it. “Love you too. Everything hurts so bad.” He mumbled. “Where Iris?” He asked quietly

She frowned and just nodded a little, “what’s wrong with me?” She asked them shaking a little again and resting her head back worried about Jamie and how bad he would be worrying right now.

Max gave a small nod giving a heavy sigh "I know my love...she is with Aaron right now, missing her daddy." She said softly kissing his hand gently

The EMT gave a small sigh as her vitals started to spike "Ma'am we need you to stay calm okay? For you and your baby." He said softly

He frowned again and just hummed, going quiet after that for a long while, trying to take comfort in just having her there and feeling her hand in his. “I feel funny.” He slurred to her, trying to open his eyes a little but it was harder than before.

She frowned and shook her head, letting the whole thing wash over her until they got there and she saw Jamie rushing over to catch up with them once he’d parked the car. “Hey… they won’t tell me what’s going on.” She mumbled, holding his hand tight while they took her through to an exam room

Max frowned when she heard how bad he was slurring his words instantly pressing the call button repeatedly. She whimpered quietky as the nurses came in "Something is wrong, he's slurring badly."

Jamie rushed into the hospital frowning "Carmen?! Oh god you had me so scared." He said taking her hand in his "We'll figure it out okay?"

She smiled at him a little. “Hey, you gotta calm down. Otherwise they’ll tell you off.” She mumbled, resting her head back. “You really gotta clean your car out more often though. I reckon I passed out cause I was carrying so much trash.” She teased him a little, trying to keep everything light

He managed to open his eyes finally and just watched her, not having the energy to talk at all but he looked scared and it wasn’t helping him to calm down his hen they had her move over to the side.

Jamie gave a small nod and chuckled a bit at her joke "I see you have jokes." He said before kissing her forehead gently "I'll try to remember." He murmured softly before pushing her hair back "How are you feeling love?"

Max moved away from him frowning as she noticed the scared look in his big brown eyes "It's alright Eddie, I'm not going anywhere. They're going to help you." She said trying to reassure him.

He frowned and just tried to follow their instructions but he couldn’t really hear them very well until he passed out and they told her they were taking him for another scan.

She shrugged a little. “My chest hurts. And it’s a little hard to breathe.” She told him quietly, giving his hand a tight squeeze, glad they were letting him stay with her.

Max nodded and thanked them saying she would be with her daughter. She arrived at the room seeing Iris and Aaron reading a book with another woman in there. She knocked on the door and smiled softly "Hey there, came to see my little girl."

Jamie frowned more giving a small nod "I'm sure everything is okay." He whispered kissing her cheek gently before the doctor's took her into the scan room and let him go to the private waiting area.

Iris looked up and giggled. “Mommy! Look it’s Sarah!” She told her happily and pointed to the young woman sat on the other side of Aaron. “I think she too pretty for bubba.” She told her point blank whike aaron rolled his eyes.

They came to collect him a while later and let him through to see her. “We’re just going to keep her here another couple hours for observation then she can go home. She needs to be on strict bed rest and very little travelling. If she doesn’t stay careful being pregnant will cause her heart to deteriorate faster and she will need the interventions in a year rather than in ten to fifteen years.” Her doctor explained as he took Jamie to her room

Max smiled widely and laughed a bit before shaking the girl's hand "It is very nice to meet you Sarah, I've heard nothing but good things." She said happily before looking at Aaron "You two go get something to eat okay? I'll keep her company." She said happily trying to keep her facade up.

Jamie gave a heavy sigh and nodded a bit "Thank you very much...so this means she cannot travel until the baby is born?" He said before thanking them again when they agreed. He walked back into the room and gave her a smile "Hello gorgeous."

Aaron nodded and frowned. “He’s not doing good?” Be asked her quietly, just nodding when she shook her head and took his girlfriends hand, heading out to the canteen with her. “Sorry this visit isn’t what was planned.” He muttered, rubbing at his face.

She smiled tiredly and reached for him. “We need a cuddle. That was… a lot.” She sighed quietly, resting her head against his shoulder once he was sat down.

Sarah held Aaron's hand as they walked and smiled some "That's alright babe, I understand that this comes first, especially with the severity of it all." She murmured before giving his cheek a quick kiss.

Jamie sat on the bed with her and nodded softly cuddling close "So I guess England will have to wait for now....and you ma'am, I am here to wait on you hand and foot."

She frowned and pouted some. “But I wanna go back there.” She grumbled. “Don’t do drugs kids.” She sighed, holding onto him a little tighter, resting her head on his shoulder. “I’m ready to go home.” She mumbled.

He smiled and just pulled her into his side tightly. “I love you.” He smiled. “I can’t wait for you to meet my dad properly.” He told her gently unaware that Eddie was going downhill quickly and that his nurse had gone to speak to max and let her know that they had moved him back to the ICU as there had been another bleed and he had had a stroke

Jamie gave a heavy sigh and nodded softly "I know love, I'm ready to get you home." He whispered kissing the top of her head gently. He sighed softly as he rubbed her belly softly "Maybe they will be our only child?"

Max let a few tears fall as she sat in Eddie's room when Iris was asleep. She texted Aaron to let him know and sighed heavily not knowing what to do because Iris would be released tomorrow.

She sighed a little. “Maybe. But we will see.” She sighed quietly, falling asleep against him until he was nudging her awake to take her home, following him out to the car.

Aaron had gone straight there from the canteen after Sarah had left to go to the hotel she was staying in just to get freshened up from her drive. He stepped into the room and frowned watching his dad carefully. “How bad is it?”

-6 months-

Jamie got home early that day smiling widely when he saw Carmen sitting on the couch watching TV. Things had been going okay so far but he could tell Carmen was starting to get a little stir crazy with the bed rest. He came into view of her and immediately he crouched infront of her kissing all over her baby bump "Hello my two beautiful loves." He said softly.

Max sighed heavily as she got home with a sleeping Iris in her arms. Things had been hectic to say the least these past six months. Iris was fully recovered now thankfully but Eddie was still very much on the mend. His physical wounds were nearly healed but the tole it was taking on his body to heal them made things worse. He was barely awake most days, and when he was awake his energy was so low that all he could really do was give small replies and sit on the couch.

She looked up at him frowning some. “Baby gets a kiss before me?” She grumbled a bit. She had four weeks to go and by this point she was uncomfortable and bored and hormonal. It was proving to be a really bad combination. “Did the agent call yet today?” She asked him. They’d put an offer on a house in the uk and they were waiting to hear back about it still.

Eddie saw them come in and smiled tiredly, reaching for Iris. “How was school?” He asked her. He was relieved to finally be home but at the same time he was miserable and the only thing keeping him going really was his girls.

Jamie smiled happily at her before kissing her gently "Mmm called and said they're working out the last details but soon enough it'll be ours." He said happily moving to cuddle her some "How are you feeling beautiful?" He asked rubbing her bump

Max smiled and handed a very sleepy Iris into his arms "They said she did good, thankfully she seems to have my school behavior and not her daddy's." She teased before sitting with him

He smiled a little and just held her close, trying to ignore the fact it felt like someone was splitting his head open. “What time for Aaron?” He asked. “For the weekend?” He had tried to get good at shortening his sentences not so they still made sense and he didn’t use up what little energy he had.

Carmen shrugged. “Pregnant. Max said we’re still good to come over for dinner tonight. And I want out of this house so we’re going.” She told him. “They accepted the offer then?” She smiled and nodded happily. “Good. So did you book in the surveys and searches and stuff?” She asked him.

Max gave a small smile and watched him some "He said around noon, Sarah will be with him as well." She said before kissing him gently "I'm going to start on dinner okay? Carmen and Jamie will be here later." She murmured softly

Jamie gave a nod and smiled happily "All of it taken care of love. Let me go shower real quick before dinner alright?" He murmured happily
