He frowned and shook his head. “We don’t know that she did. Cops are searching for her sti- Aaron,… Aaron buddy come on.” He called quickly as a few alarms went off and he rushed into the hallway, yelling for help as Aaron went into cardiac arrest.

She shook her head and just held tighter. “How many more secrets are there Jamie? I can’t keep doing this if you’re always gonna be hiding something.” She whimpered.

Max went wide eyed shaking her head "No no no no! Aaron don't do this!" She begged shaking more when Eddie tried pulling her away "No! No don't take me from him! He needs me!" She yelled

Jamie shook his head kissing the top of her head gently "There aren't any I promise." He whispered taking a deep breath "I am going to get this divorce, and then if you would have me....I'd like to marry you."

She frowned and looked up at him, cupping his cheek gently. “I got a few conditions on that front. But we will talk once you’re out of here. Get some rest okay? I’m not going anywhere.” She mumbled holding onto him tightly.

Eddie shook his head and kept her pressed tightly to him. “They need room to help him.” He told her quickly, “our daughter needs you as well love I know it’s really hard but I need you to try and relax just a little for her sake.” He coaxed gently, waiting outside quite impatiently until they were finally being allowed back in once they had him stabilised again, letting max sit with him while he stepped out with the doctor. “Is he gonna make it?” He asked him frowning.

Jamie gave a heavy sigh but nodded softly "Alright love, I'll do anything." He said truthfully before he started to drift off.

The doctor gave a heavy sigh as the boy's father came out to him "We will be very surprised if he makes it through the night...we're working on trying to get a blood transfusion right now." He explained quietly "I am very sorry sir."

He just nodded slowly and made his way back in, dropping into the other chair and staring at his son trying to hold it all in

Carmen slept through to the morning and got out of the bed by the time his nurse made it in to check up on him. ‘I’ll get your doctor in here then we can let you go but you need to take it easy for the next couple weeks.’ She told him seriously.

Max looked at Eddie and took his hand in hers "Let it out Eds...don't hold it back." She whispered letting another few tears fall.

Jamie woke up the next morning and groaned softly. He sat up some when the nurse came in and nodded as he listened to her "I will." He murmured

Carmen nodded and gave him a pointed look. “No driving either. You’re not allowed to drive for six months.” She told him. “You get to be a passenger princess.” She giggled.

He frowned and took a shaky breath, gripping at her hand tightly before he completely broke down feeling like this was all his fault, sobbing into the sheets, his shoulders heaving.

Jamie gasped softly and shook his head some "Oh lord...remind me of this if Eddie ever tries to take my somewhere." He murmured softly

Max went over and held him giving a heavy sigh. They slept there that night, well tried at least. She woke up some when she felt the baby starting to kick groaning softly. She looked at Eddie and sighed softly "How long have you been awake?"

He was staring at the bed and just frowned. “Um…. Few hours.” He mumbled. “He had a seizure. I didn’t want to wake you.” He mumbled

She nodded and sighed a little. “We should go see them before we take you back to the hotel.” She mumbled, rubbing his arm and frowning some.

Max frowned deeply as she looked at Aaron "Why? What made him have one?" She asked doing her best right now to stay calm.

Jamie nodded softly and gave her hand a squeeze "Yeah I think that would be good." He said quietly frowning some "Have they been looking for who did it?

He shook his head "Lack of circulation to his brain... he's trying to breathe on his own but it's taking a lot more effort than it should.... they don't know if he's going to make it through today." He mumbled, staring blankly at his son, numb to it now and just feeling a sense of dread.

She shruggged "I've been here love... I don't know." She murmured, going to splash some water on her face while they were giving him a final check and the all clear to go home, coming back out to find him in scrubs and just smiled at him a little, "Come on... let's go see them then get some breakfast."

Max took a shaky breath and gave a small nod "Oh god..." she whispered. She took a deep breath trying to keep calm "Eddie....what are we going to do?" She whimpered

Jamie gave a heavy nod and got up once the doctor's let him go "You got my clothes from the show?" He asked realizing he was still in a hospital gown.

She shook her head. “They cut your jeans off baby. Scrubs it’s gonna have to be.” She told him quietly as they handed him a spare set and waited til he had changed and she walked with him to find Aaron’s room, heading in and just staring at her nephew in shock. “Oh my god.” She mumbled, starting to cry

Eddie just shook his head staring at him. “I don’t know… I don’t know.” He mumbled looking up and seeing Carmen and Jamie there. “Hey man, you doing better?” He asked standing up and hugging his best friend tightl.

Jamie groaned but gave a small nod and got dressed. He frowned some as they got into the room and hugged Eddie "I'm fine, just over did it....Eddie shit man...I'm so sorry." He said quietly

Max looked over seeing Carmen and Jamie come in. She took a deep breath and gave a small wave "Hi..." she whispered

He frowned and just shook his head. “He’s uh… shit… he’s not doing good. They don’t know if he’s gonna get through the day.” He choked out, sitting back down and holding his sons hand tightly worried out of his mind

Carmen frowned and hugged her tightly then went and gave eddies shoulder a squee3 as well. “We’re heading back to the hotel but you need anything at all just call me okay?” She told them both, heading out with Jamie in silence the whole way back to the hotel until they got into their room and she went to sit down.

Aaron was up and down the whole morning until just after midday when he was starting to wake up a little, managing to open his eyes enough that he could see his parents in the room and he could hear the ventilator but wasn’t sure what it was and he managed a loud groan.

Max went wide eyed when she heard Aaron groan. She quickly pressed the call button repeatedly while Eddie rushed to go get a nurse "Aaron...Aaron baby calm down okay? Calm down baby."

Jamie spent the afternoon in the hotel with her sighing heavily "I will get those papers signed as soon as possible." He explained quietly to her as he thought everything over.

He just kept trying to move but the pain that went through his throat each time was making him jerk and he wasn’t working it out that it was hurting because he was trying to move until his doctor came in and they were checking him over for a solid half hour before they finally agreed to take the ventilator out and he lay there after seeing his parents coming back in. “Mom?”

Carmen just nodded and frowned as she came out the bathroom and went to lay with him, holding onto him tightly. “Jamie I have three conditions before I will marry you… one you gotta get divorced fully before I agree to anything. Two I need you to take care of yourself better and three… that we leave Hawkins.” She told him quietly. “I don’t care where we move to but I can’t live there anymore.”

Max tried to keep him calm but moved out of the way as the doctor came in. She burst into tears when she heard his voice "Oh my baby...oh it is so good to hear your voice." She whimpered cupping his face in hers.

Jamie gave a small nod as he listened to her before smiling softly "I think I can do all of those. I was wondering...California has worn me out, I don't think I can handle it anymore. What about maybe England?"

He frowned a little and just leaned into her hand. “Everything hurts…. I don’t feel good.” He panted to her, licking his lips and groaning when he tried to swallow but there was still a tube down his throat for nutrients because of the damage to his stomach he couldn’t even have water at the moment.

She turned to look at him and smiled a little. “We’d have to wait until we were married but then yes…. I’d try England with you.” She murmured, kissing him gently. “Mmm I love you.” She told him quietly.

Max nodded softly and kissed his forehead gently "I know baby, you got attacked....its going take some time for you to heal, but you'll be okay." She assured him looking over at Eddie who was standing in the corner "Eddie come here...please." she pleaded

Jamie smiled happily at her before kissing her gently "When I am cleared I want to take you on a holiday there, to make sure you'll really like it." He explained quietly while he cupped her cheek.

Eddie frowned shaking his head and nodded towards the doctor he was speaking to, going over to them after a while and sat down. “Hey bud, oh it’s good to see your eyes open again” he mumbled, taking his hand and watching him struggle to squeeze it “Get some rest Aaron, we aren’t going anywhere okay? I promise.” He coaxed, smoothing his hair back for him until he was asleep again and looked up at max. “Honey I…. Don’t… he just said don’t let this get our hopes up too much okay? He’s really far from out of the woods yet.” He told her gently

Carmen smiled and nodded just holding onto him. “Mmm I love you.” She murmured to him, burying her face into his shoulder. “You smell like a hospital.” She grumbled.

Max frowned deeply as she listened to Eddie after Aaron had fallen asleep. She took a shaky breath before nodding some "We have to have hope Eddie, we can't...we can't....we can't loose it." She whispered letting more tears fall.

Jamie pouted some but as he ran his fingers through her hair "I guess I should bathe huh? They say if its alright for me to shower?" He asked softly

“I know… I know but don’t get…. Don’t get too excited.@ he told her quietly, kissing her head and just held her close.

She nodded and smiled a little. “Yeah… or we could have a bath and I’ll keep an eye on you:” she told him quietly. “Cause I’m quite cold and I don’t want to let go right now.” She mumbled tiredly.

She took a shaky breath but nodded softly. The next few days had been touch and go, but it was looking like Aaron would be on the mend soon enough. She walked into the room with arms full of snacks "Don't judge me....you're daughter wanted this." She said noticing Eddie's wide eyed expression.

Jamie sat back in Hawkins with Carmen giving a heavy sigh as he tried calling Mary again. He wouldn't stop pushing until given his divorce, even if he needed to take this to the courts.

He frowned and shook his head. “In front of our son who is on a smoothie diet for the next two months? Really?” He chuckled rollong his eyes a little.

Aaron grumbled a bit and just rest his head back. “He has a point mom.” He muttered, closing his eyes a little as a wave of nausea rolled over him like he was getting used to. He immediately became aware though when he heard his name at the door, coming from Chelsea’s voice.

Carmen had been quiet since the show, barely talking to him but insisting on always being somewhere near him when she was at home on top of the nightmares and she just wasn’t herself. She got up when she heard Mary pick up the phone though and went to get a drink from the kitchen.
