Rose chuckled once again. "Sounds like quite the dedicated guy," she said pretending to be impressed by his commitment. Rose had never met a palace guard personally, but she could assume they were almost as bad as the princes themselves. Stuck up, unreliable, and in their own little worlds. Probably not caring about anyone else besides them and the royals. If Rose was her younger self, she would most likely assume they were bold, courageous, and honorable. Times change, though. She was no longer that naïve little girl who thought everyone had a purpose in this world.

Her eyes widening at Shannon's question, she looked at her like she was crazy. "No way. Had my fair share of boys, thank you very much," she said with her hands up in defense as she laughed. "I don't think any guy in here deserves an hour of my precious time," she added with a smile. Most would say Rose was vain, but she just said that she was confident. Nothing wrong with that. "Maybe you should go talk to that guard. He might not threaten you to date him. If he does, take it as a compliment," she advised Shannon. "I mean who wouldn't wanna hang out with you?"

Vanessa Nuvari

Vanessa smiled at him. As he spoke, she noticed how nice his voice was. It was silky and soft, yet still masculine in every way. In Vanessa's personal opinion, it added greatly to the Prince's attractiveness. When he explained what this first meeting was for, she made sure to listen attentively. Probably wouldn't be very intelligent of her to space out when he was speaking to her. "I understand. I promise to be as honest as I can, Prince," she said. And she would. After all, what reason was there to lie to him? Plus, Cassius seemed like the type of man to value honesty greatly. He was moral and strong and she knew he would make a great king should he ascend the throne. During the moment of silence after his explanation, she thought of what questions she had for him. She didn't want it to get to her turn to ask a question, only for her to come up blank. That would be far too embarrassing.

Her attention snapped back to the Prince when he spoke again. The questions he asked her didn't surprise her in the slightest. They were practically, and aimed to get a feel for how the girl he was asking would be like in a relationship with him. He was discovering which girls would fit with him and which wouldn't. It was practical and strategic. But, Vanessa did have to look inside herself to find the honest answer. It wasn't like she spent too much of her time thinking about being with a Prince or becoming a Queen. She was quiet as she thought, but she looked up at him with a sincere expression when she found her answer. "I believe I would make a good bride for you because much like you, I place high value upon honesty and strength. I find comfort in knowing that I have the strength to help those who depend on me. I, of course, don't have the weight of entire kingdom resting on my shoulders, but what I do have I take very seriously. You seem like the kind of man to base a relationship off of trust, someone who prefers to take things slow and get to know someone before making it official, and I wholeheartedly agree with that," Vanessa explained earnestly.

"As for what traits I believe a good queen should have, I'd say a Queen should be honest. A queen should be respectful and regal, she should always be strong and decisive. Compassion and confidence in oneself are what make a great rule. Such traits are what will make you a great king should you ascend, Prince," she continued with a smile.

Prince Marcus Jackson

"I guess your right. I wouldn't be the person I am today without them". Marcus was impressed. Not only did this woman have a keen mind for the arts, but she was excellent with her use of words and seemed kind hearted. He was impressed, however he needed to move on and meet others. Gentely grasping her hand, he  lifted it to his face. Her hand was small and soft compared to his, and almost seemed fragile. Bowing his head, he kissed her hand "It was a pleasure to meet you Aria, look forward to our next meeting" and with that, he let go of her hand and left her to the piano.

Now the next challenge was going to be finding another woman to talk to. 1 down, 13 to go. Looking around the room, he searched for a woman that caught his eye. Although they were all beautiful, the redhead and the brunette that were having a conversation caught his eye the most. Wanting to kill two birds with one stone, he approached the two. Waiting until he had an opening in their conversation, he made his intro "hello ladies. Are you enjoying yourselves?"

Cassius looked at her nodded almost accepting completely of what she said, she seemed to have the exact same agenda at him which oddly enough rubbed him the wrong way to an extent simply because he'd never med anyone like himself before. "Well I see how that works.. but a Queen also has to be weak time to time. Same with a king, if they don't have weakness then how could one be there to hold the other up when times got tough on both them and their kingdom?" he asked this holding a kind of wise tone as though it was how he had been taught to think, his mother always had been a good teacher despite her not seeming happy with her life for the most part. But that wasn't the thing he was currently focused on, in fact he had much bigger things to handle currently than speaking about stories and things he had previously heard of his mothers past. After he cleared his throat quietly and decided he should probably speak again as to make sure the conversation didn't just die off with a silly statement he'd proclaimed previously.

That in mind he decided to speak on his next point not sure as of what else to say outside of the statement he had made. Though he was making notes in his mind about who had felt what so he could get a rough grasp upon everyone's personal tastes and their personality for the most part. That would allow him to know who was actually right for him among all others and how exactly he would be needing to get things done here, that was pushed to the back of his mind now as he gave Vanessa his full attention once more. "So. Sorry to have that moment of oddness there, Do you have any questions for me? If not then don't fret I understand that sometimes it happens to people and they don't exactly have a direct question for someone to answer them" My voice sounded calm once more maybe even soothing if someone was nervous from my general blend not sounding immature for a moment as best I could. Though everyone has some immaturity even if they were like me and burried it beneath their normal personality to make sure they didn't seem like an unfit person to rule... or was that just him?

"I'm not entirely right, you figured it out on your own." She tells him as she watched him smile as if he was excited about something. Aria loved to think and when she thought, she began to talk and talk forever which is why she tries her hardest to not do so since she is afraid that the same thing would happen to her like her past relationship. Aria had only been in two serious relationships and the last one didn't go so well. It turned her into a broken mess, and therapy was the answer for her which is why she isn't overthinking too many things so that she doesn't doubt herself during this Selection. Aria watched as he gently grasped her hand in his, his hand was as warm as can be and it was felt rather nice as to where she didn't want him to let go of it. Aria blushed when he planted a kiss on her hand. She smiled once more and stood up to say goodbye to him,"It was a pleasure to meet and talk to you." She tells him," I will be looking forward to it, thank you." Aria said politely as she watched him leave.

Aria felt great about the conversation, but the conversation left her wanting to go to the bathroom since her stomach began to grumble. She thought it was probably because she felt nervous after the conversation and made her way towards the door wanting to go to the bathroom but she didn't know whether or not she was allowed to go so she sat back down on the stool that was in front of the piano and gently pressed on the keys.

"Not a gentleman's lady i see," she teased," and you flatter me. Before you no one bothered to put up with me for more than a record of fifteen minutes."

Their conversation was cut off as one of the princes, the younger, approached them. Standing at her full height, about the same as the prince's with her high heels on, she onced-over his appearance and let her face settle into a reserved smile. By nature, Shannon immediately settled into her formal way of addressing someone, from years of being forced in front of dignitaries and other powerful people due to her mother's social butterfly tendencies. Shannon wouldn't be surprised if her mother had met the royal family before.

"Quite. It's nice to have some time to get to know the other girls," she greeted.

She wasn't confident that the princes weren't just spoiled brats looking for a plaything, so she'd be passive towards them both for the moment. Shannon was just hoping Rose would say something so that Shannon didn't throw any sarcastic comments the prince's way. If she got kicked out the first day, she'd never hear the end of it from her mother or her brothers.

The Prince dismissed her rather swiftly and she got up and curtsied as a goodbye before making her way out of the couch area. A new name was called and a girl with dark hair walked past her, but she didn't seem nervous at all except for a slight red tint that was on her cheeks. Most of the girls were either talking in small groups or just sitting in the chairs they were sitting in before. Whitney let out a breath of relief now that part of this was over, or the beginning really yet, she could still be sent home on the first day so it wasn't exactly time to be too relaxed yet. The buffet took over her attention as she heard her stomach grumble quietly as she was figuring out where exactly to go or who to talk to. A couple girls were standing near the buffet so she figured that was a good place to start. Most of them looked friendly enough so maybe she could actually make a friend.

She found her feet taking her over towards the buffet and near a girl that had chocolate brown hair and another girl with almost an ombre with pink and brown that suited the girl rather well. "Hey guys. My name is Whitney though most people just call me Whit for short but you can call me whatever you would like." she says in a rather friendly way and just trying to start a conversation up with someone which wasn't easy no matter who you were.

"Whats your names? Oh my god and I absolutely love your hair. " she compliments the girl with the pink ombre. Whitney was just trying not to be so awkward since she didn't want to feel like she interrupted them though she probably did.

Dakota Kolton

Dakota hadn't expected anyone to talk to her so soon, so when a pretty girl introducing herself as Adelaide came over to her, she had a full mouth. Knowing that pure disaster would ensue if she tried to talk, she quickly swallowed the food and smiled at her. "Hi! I'm Dakota." Putting her hand over her mouth in case of a rogue burp, she looked at the girl and listened to her raves about the food. "Oh, I know, right? I can't get enough! Thank goodness I never really cared about my weight anyway!" She giggled at this sentiment, even though it was the truth. Since she'd never taken an interest in gussying up for no reason, and only taking care of herself, she ate whenever she could, if only to stay healthy and energized.

Taking a closer look at Adelaide, Dakota's eyes seemed to brighten as she gushed, "I love your dress! It suits you really well." Dakota knew that she and Adelaide would get along. She had that feeling that someone was perfectly nice, and wouldn't go out of her way to sabotage her. Unlike the two girls who were now with Prince Marcus, who radiated a sort of scary confidence, like they'd lash out at her if she made one misstep. The lack of piano music saddened her, though. The girl who had been playing it was very skilled--certainly better than she could ever do. With a sigh, Dakota ached for her easel and watercolors. Something told her that after this day was done, all she'd want to do is either curl up with a book, or paint a landscape.

Queen Julianna Jackson

The maid returned to Julianna's chambers, panic etched across her face. "M-my Lady," she squeaked out, "the Princes have introduced themselves to the girls, and have begun conversing with them."

Julianna frowned, and set down her quilting. She was hoping that Cassius and Marcus would have spoken to her before commencing the Selection, but she understood if they were in a hurry. And besides, this was not in the maid's control at all. "It's alright," she said, looking the maid in her eyes. "This was not in your control. You may go."

The maid visibly calmed down. "Thank you, my lady!" she exclaimed as she walked out.

Julianna then decided to go visit the ballroom, to check on the princes. She also wished to scope out the girls, to see who she would have to spend her days in the Women's Room with. Standing up, she examined herself in the mirror, and smiled. She looked every bit the queen she was supposed to be, and the ruler she was when Andrew was "unfit to rule", which was, unfortunately, most of the time. With her back straight and head held high, she exited her rooms and headed to the ballroom.

When she reached the ballroom, she spotted Enzo, Santiago, and Alexandre. Instead of entering straight away, she decide to ask them about the girls, and how the princes were handling them. If she didn't enter, it wouldn't embarrass anyone, and she didn't want to do that.

Approaching the three guards, she said "Good morning, sirs," in a kind voice.

"Not at all." Rose said, addressing Shannon's remark about being a gentleman's lady. "Fifteen minutes, huh? My record's ten minutes," she joked. The conversation was very loose. There was no forced smiles or pretending the two liked each other. Instead, their words came smoothly, like they knew each other since they were children. It was a bit strange for Rose since nothing like that had ever happened in any of her conversations.

Her smile faded a bit as one of the princes approached them. She fought the urge to roll her eyes because of the way he introduced himself, reminded her of a waiter. Letting Shannon speak first, she looked at the prince. he was quite handsome, but it didn't surprise Rose because of course they would be attractive. "Yes," she agreed with Shannon. "It's nice to meet a girl who actually has common sense," she said with a strained smile.

Vanessa Nuvari

Vanessa was silent as the Prince spoke. She listened to what he said, paying close attention to his eyes. She could see something in them, something that vaguely resembled the way someone looked when they were offended or suspicious. Vanessa shied into herself slightly,  shifting in her seat. Had she said something wrong? She'd been honest as he'd asked. Did he not believe her? Vanessa Sighed,  folding her hands in her lap as she waited out the awkward silence that had formed between her and the Prince.

When he finally broke the silence, it was to ask her what questions she had. She wracked her brain for the question she'd had, finally remembering after a moment of focused thought. "I have plenty of questions, but I'll stick one for now so that you can get to your next interview," Vanessa said. She looked up, meeting the Prince's eyes. "How do you feel about the possibility that you will ascend the throne? I mean, what does becoming king mean to you?" Vanessa hoped her questions weren't out of line.  She'd already screwed up once.

With a brief delay due to him having to think he had made the answer he believed was necessary for such a question. Though he did know he should be absolutely honest with whatever he was going to state, in his mind there was no sense in keeping the information from her if she could be a potential bride for him. But considering everything he could've said he needed to make sure he said exactly what he wanted to ensure he didn't mess up and have it taken the wrong way to the point she hated him for no reason. Because for him that would suck majorly in more ways than one, but he supposed that the main reason that would reign true is because it would make him feel completely awful if he knew he made someone hate him a bit more. But then again he already knew that there was at least someone out there in the crowd who scoffed each and every time they spotted him, or some kind of girl who just assumed that they were extremely awful though she hadn't even spoken with them and that would more than likely raise a few eyebrows around the castle to him.

But he was thinking off topic now and needed to get back to it, He noticed how Vanessa seemed to be kind of fidgety and nervous from how he much have looked or acted.. maybe it was the sound of his voice. But he knew better than to just assume the worst so he smiled kindly to her and decided to speak and break the once again awkward silence, "Well.. I feel that if the responsibility falls upon me it would be a good thing.. My brother would be just as suited for it as I would be but. I also don't want him to loose who he is just so the kingdom has a king. As for what being king means to me. It means I can do the best for everyone, maintain the order among people and hopefully, make sure that everyone regardless of caste is able to live the best possible life they can" He said this his tone honest and noble as every word escaped his lips then nodded. He had made note of this girl exceptionally well and as for a fact knew what he could process about her for a future date, she was a kind woman and seemed very proper so that was another few traits of hers that stuck out to him.

Aria was playing ever so delicately on the keys, but she played nice and quietly so that when people were talking they could still hear each other over the melody. Aria hadn't played the piano in a couple of months and when she was playing it, it felt great to her. Aria stopped playing for a moment when she closed her legs tightly and began to tap the heel of her one shoes very rapidly on the floor. She really couldn't hold it, she remembered that she was in front of a group of people so she had to remain calm. She got up slowly and breathed in as she walked over to the door and saw a couple of guards standing there. They looked to be well dressed, and pretty handsome if you asked her. She held her hands in front of her as she approached the men. Aria only knew the name of one of the guards since the other was unrecognizable, and besides that she was assigned to one of them, and his name is Santiago. "Excuse me," Aria said politely as she waited for them to turn around and face her. She knew they were talking to someone but she couldn't make out who was talking to them since she couldn't really see the person's face that well because the boys were in front of her. "Excuse me, I know you are currently talking to someone and I apologize for interrupting but...may I ask for Santiago's presence?" Aria asked as nicely as she could. She knew that if she left alone it would cause suspicion and plus it was said that none of the girls were allowed to walk alone without an escort. She wasn't going to say where she wanted to go out loud because it was a bit embarrassing to say that in a time like this.

Lorenzo Tobias Stockholme

The first time Enzo heard the sound of the door opening, he stood still, listening to see if the selected girl would be addressing them, debating the wisdom of turning to her. As she spoke, it seemed his prayers were answered. Enzo then let out a heavy sigh, lowering the hand that rested on his head as he glanced back at her. She looked familiar as he slowly realized it was the girl Santiago had been talking about just before. So this is the girl Santi said he liked, eh? He joked in his head as he analyzed her features. Beautiful dress, flowing brown hair, eyes just as blue as the ocean and seemingly perfect skin. She had to be at least from caste 3 or higher, it wasn't a surprise Santiago would fancy a woman like her, she was gorgeous-- perfect. He turned fully to watch her standing there, she didn't seem that bad. "So, this is your selected, eh, Santi?" Enzo said, turning back to Santiago, a mocking look on his face as he looked to Alex then back to Aria. "It's a pleasure, m'lady." He said, a tinge of egoism in his voice. "Lorenzo, hope the pleasure's mutual though, aye?" He introduced, taking her right hand with his right, bending down as he gave it a light kiss. He wasn't one to follow tradition but he guessed the selected would be used to. "So you're the one Santiago's been talking about. Aria?" He asked, it didn't seem like it was truly a question though. "Santiago wouldn't mind escorting you but may I ask to where? Might just be my curiosity but... it is my curiosity."

Alexandre St. Clemente

Alex rolled his eyes at Enzo's attempt at humor, nodding at Santiago when the guard told him good morning. He had never found Stockholme particularly funny, but he supposed his childish attitude did lighten things up a bit from time. Being a guard for the royal palace, especially one who worked directly with the royals, could get very stressful at times. The conversation the two guards had been having about the Selected girls didn't go unnoticed to him, but he chose to ignore it. His input wouldn't stop them from talking. Alex leaned his head against the wall, drumming his fingers on the wooden trim absently as he waited for the Princes to go through their interviews. He had to admit, he was curious to see which girl or girls would be sent home after these introductions. Alex's bored actions and train of thought continued for a few more minutes before a voice he knew all too well spoke from behind him.

Alexandre's back went ram-rod straight and he stood to his full height, his body as rigid as steel. Slowly, he turned to look at the Queen where she stood behind him. She was dressed to look like the queen she was, jewelry peppering her gown and tiara as she smiled kindly at them. Alex nodded respectfully at her, bowing slightly to show respect. "Queen Julianna," he said through a tense jaw. His voice was blank, void of almost all emotion, and his expression was no different. After a moment of tense silence, another voice was heard. Alex was relieved. He turned his attention back in Santiago's direction, noticing one of the Selected standing there shyly. He wanted to slap Enzo when he asked her what she wanted to do, as in where she wanted to go (I mean, how rude!), but he stopped himself, reassuming his spot against the wall in the corner where no one bothered him.

Edie giggled at Emerald'ss comment, "Please don't faint!" she jokingly cried with a smile on her face, "I'm from caste five, are you a dressmaker?" She asked with a bite from another pastry, keeping one hand underneath the crumbly pastry to stop from crumb spreading. Edie had a habit of leaving food crumbs on her floor, something she learned from her father but today was not the day to be messy, especially in front of a new friend let alone the Princes. The feeling of hunger soon left Edie alone as she filled herself up with pastries and a green apple, it was always important to balance things out and Edie didn't want to feel like a pig in front of everyone.

As she continued to chatter with Emerald, she noticed another girl come up to them. A sheepish smile etched into Edie's features as the girl complimented her hair, making her cheeks turn into a light pink from blushing. "Thank you! Your eyes are beautiful!" She quickly replied, making a mental note to ask if she could paint a picture of her eyes. "I'm Edie and that's Emerald." Edie explained as she nodded towards Emerald's direction, "What caste are you from?" she asked curiously with a smile as she took a bite from her green apple.

Aria thought that Santiago would be the first to speak to her since she did ask for his help of escorting her but she was wrong, instead, a tall somewhat dark brown haired guard spoke first. His looks could fool any of the girls here but he seemed a bit like a douche since he was teasing Santiago and clearly, they had been talking behind her back which she could care less but she certainly didn't like knowing that they were doing so. Aria waited for a while before speaking to him and she saw the way he was looking at her and observing it, it made her blush lightly but not entirely. Plus it did make her wonder what they were saying about her but she let that thought go. She watched as he took her hand and planted a kiss, Aria gave him a somewhat quick smile but removed her hand from his grasp slowly. "I hope he speaks good of me," she says as she looked at Santiago and then back at Enzo. Aria's face turned a bright red color instantly when Enzo asked her where she was going. She pulled her hand close to her chest and looked straight at him before she turned her face towards Enzo,"I know you are a part of the Palace Guards but that does not mean that you get to ask me where I am going. I was most certainly not addressing you and furthermore it is none of your business." She bluntly yet in a soothing and calm voice directed it to Enzo.

Aria noticed a guy that was standing a couple of feet away and it seemed like he was ready to jump at Enzo for whatever reason. Aria didn't like staring at people for so long because she knew that was rude, so she looked away and looked back at Enzo and Santiago.

"Yeah, I am a dr-" Emerald was on the verge of answering Edie, when another girl approached both of them. The girl, Whitney, was unbelievably beautiful. Her hair fell in soft waves, framing her porcelain skin. Her hair was both light brown and blonde; a nice combination. She had a friendly smile and kind eyes, also. She'd been the first one to talk to Prince Cassius.

Though it was a bit rude, Emerald couldn't help but keep staring at Whitney. Her name and her appearance were so familiar. Even the nickname that she gave them.

Years ago, Emerald was close with a girl in her caste. Both had passions for sewing, and they were apprentices for the seamstresses at the factories. But, as they got older, they grew distant. They had become young adults, and they had their own responsibilities. There wasn't enough time to keep soft and innocent friendships, especially in their low and poor caste.

Emerald's hand slowly darted out, tugging on a lock of Whitney's hair, which she did to her old friend when they were younger. Nobody questioned why she did it. It was another one of the weird things she did.

"If you talk to one of the Selected, outside of your responsibilities, I'm sure you can get in a great amount of trouble with His Majesty. But, by all means, if that girl you were talking about keeps you satisfied, then go for it," Santiago tells Enzo, in regards to the girl he'd pointed out earlier. He wasn't blind, now, so he took note of how both their cheeks brightened a hot red.

The sound of heels clacking on the floor startled Santiago, but he knew right away that the heels would either be from the Selected girls, or the Queen. To his surprise, it was one of the girls; in fact, the one he'd been assigned to. "Lady Aria? Is anything the matter?"

Her request for his presence was odd. And, judging by how she looked, her delicate features tight with something, he just couldn't put his finger on it. Enzo began to bother her, like always, and Santiago was about to say something else, but Alexandre greeted Her Majesty, and Santiago whirled around, facial expression stiff and emotionless. One hand behind his back, the other on his stomach, he bowed, eyes trained on his boots for three seconds, before rising to his full stature.

"Your Majesty. Might we offer any assistance? Is anything the matter? Do you need the prince's?" Santiago tried to keep his nervousness down, but if she overheard what him, Enzo, and Aria were discussing, he could be in serious trouble.

Vanessa Nuvari

Vanessa smiled at him, tucking her hair behind her ear. She was still nervous that she had done something to offend him or put him off, but once he got around to answering her question for him, it seemed as if some of his sudden bout of awkwardness had dissipated. Vanessa was thankful. She perked up as he answered her, reveling in the sincerity and honesty she could hear in every word. It was hard to find men like that this day and age, and it was unbelievably satisfying to discover that's how the Prince was. She contemplated his answer and tried to put herself in his shoes, think about what becoming Queen would mean to her. She found her response, had she been asked that question, would've been quite similar, but she decided against bringing it up. The last time she'd brought up something they may have had in common, Cassius had clammed up and shied away and she didn't want to push her luck even further.

Turning her gaze to the room full of girls and then back to the Prince. "I don't want to see like I'm in a rush for this to end, because I'm not. I enjoy talking to you. But is that all, Your Highness? I know you have several more girls to get through today," Vanessa said, cringing inwardly when she realized how bad that sounded.

Aria looked at Enzo when Santiago was speaking, but she quickly turned the other cheek and looked at Santiago when he had mentioned a girl. Aria felt a bit uncomfortable but she was also feeling more uncomfortable when she tightened her fist together trying to hold it in and this process of asking for Santiago to escort her to the bathroom is taking a longer than expected. When he finally gave her his attention she stepped forward a bit closer and whispered it into his ears,"I need to use the restroom...could you please escort me there?" She asked him as she stepped back and gave him reasonable space between them two. Aria's face was red and she didn't like the idea of always being escorted to places but since she is in the palace it is a safety precaution for all of the girls so that they don't go off wandering and also so that they can be protected as well.

Aria tilted her head a bit when she heard a voice and she saw how Santiago's body behavior changed rapidly when he turned around. She saw a glimpse of the woman and it was the queen, Aria bowed her head and her body followed as well when she saw that she was in the presence of the queen. The queen was a beautiful lady and she truly fit the role of being queen, there's no doubt there. She carried herself with so much poise yet so much authority, and if Aria were to be Queen she would have to follow in the footsteps of the Princes' mother. "My queen, it is truly an honor to be in your presence. Forgive me if I have interrupted your conversation with the guards," Aria said as she blushed knowing that the queen probably heard everything that she had said to Enzo.

A smile played on her lips as the other female attempted to swallow the food she was previously enjoying. When Dakota made a comment about weight, she chuckled. It was nice to know that there was someone here who wasn't stuck up and vain. Though, she didn't chat as much as Dakota was. After all, Adelaide was still an introvert and not really the best in conversations, or holding them. Her mind wandered back to the guard who was glancing at her before, and her eyes followed to where he was, finding him still there. Though now there were a few other people over there as well, but she couldn't depict who due to being a little to far away. But it seemed one of them was a selected, so Adelaide took note that she may be able to chat to the guard at a later point and not be executed for it.

Adelaide timidly glanced down at her own dress when she got that strange feeling someone was looking at her -- which was Dakota -- still feeling self-conscious about wearing it. "Oh, thank you." she gave a small smile towards Dakota, before her soft brown eyes surveyed the other female's dress. "Yours is stunning too. The simpleness is divine." Adelaide added, her creative eye shining through. Her main passion lay in photography, but Adelaide loved creating other art and music. It was true she had a flair for the arts, some even called her a jack of all trades, though she denied it. When it came to anything else, she liked to believe she had a tendency to fail. That was probably one of the reasons why she was so surprised her attempt at making a conversation didn't go miserably.

She turned to pick a small, bite sized pastry, and within two of her bites it was gone. Since the food was so delicious, it almost made her jealous of the people living in higher castes. What if everything they had was this much better u?othan what  she had experienced in her caste? On the thought of castes, she wiped the stray crumbs from around her mouth with the back of a bent thumb, before asking, "So, what caste are you?"  she gave a small, seemingly awkward smile as Adelaide attempted to not loose the conversation. Though, judging by this girl's attitude so far, it didn't seem like it was possible, which was relieving.

Cassius J.

A small nod signified that it was the end of their meeting of sorts as he smiled once more at her, "I understand exactly how you feel in that regard. I look forward to talking to you  more in the future. I do hope that we can become at least acquaintances.. maybe even friends if you'd permit me as much" He said this before standing up and giving her a respectful bow in order to make sure he didn't look disrespectful towards her or anything of that regard. So with that in mind he smiled, this time showing a bit more of a care-free self and yet still highly reserved in the absolute best way he could do such a thing. "As I had stated prior though, It's been a blessing to talk with you Ms. Nuvari. I hope in the future we can a more.. in-depth talk on whatever matter picks at our minds" He stated then began to think about what else he had to do and he still felt like absolute rubbish inside for having to brush off his mothers request but then again.. it wasn't exactly the easiest for him to control at the moment they were introducing themselves.

He watched out upon everyone as he knew what he should do and though he didn't want to be rude he knew he should call over the next girl so that she could head this way and then Vanessa would be able to go on her way and converse with the rest of the girls and actually maybe even enjoy herself a bit more. So he made himself a bit louder so that the next girl would be able to hear him over the rest of the crowd, "Ms. Rose Empson please make your way towards the couches please" He said before standing and waiting so he could assess exactly who everyone was and manage to get everyone he was needing to talk to handled as well.

Quissiella Eva Angelica Genovia

Silently Quissiella had sat on her chair following the others with her eyes, judging them by their interactions and their movement. She followed the women by the food, guessing they came from low castes. She followed the woman at the piano as she seduced the younger prince, acknowledge her as either a good fighter, or an innocent girl who would not know her place. She followed the women who seemed unwilling to compete in the game. Quissiella wondered why they even had signed up to the Selection if they did not want to be here, there were thousands of others who would kill for their places. And finally, she followed Cassius and his process through the other selected. She noticed him being quiet before answering, she liked a man who thinks. She noticed him being honest, or at least he was a really good liar. As he finished off with the girl called Vanessa she finally stood up from her chair, trying to flatten out the puffy skirt and wandered off towards Vanessa.

"May I borrow you for a while?" Quissiella asked Vanessa while she held her arm out for Vanessa to take. She thought that this woman had gotten longer answers and Quissiella wanted to know what she had asked, and mostly what had been the prince's answer. So with a bright smile, she stood there with her arm out towards Vanessa and waited patiently for the woman to grab it.

Lorenzo Tobias Stockholme

Enzo rolled his eyes as Aria refused to tell him where she was going off to. "Fair enough." He replied bluntly. This girl's got a lot more goin' than she lets off. He thought, looking down to his gloves for a moment then back up. He'd noticed she looked troubled, shaking his head slowly. "It was a joke, aight?" He responded, glancing back at Santiago who he'd thought would've budded in by now. As she went over to whisper something to Santiago, Enzo himself felt a bit out of place, adjusting his uniform to take his mind off of what'd just happened. He adjusted his collar once more, moving his hands up to his head as he stroked his hair back even though it was already slicked. He sighed, letting a simper cross his lips as he stood there. Enzo glanced back at Santiago and Aria to check if they were still there or not before looking back down at the selected.

"Hey, you two still going?" He asked, turning back to face the two. He noticed the other guard had somewhat stiffened before he looked around to see why this had happened. As his eyes darted around he'd realized Queen Juliana had joined them. He looked up to her highness, bowing politely-- yes, he still has some iota of respect. "Your highness, there something we may be of help with?" He asked as he rose up, placing his hands behind his back. He may have been a "rebel" type, one not to follow rules but Queen Juliana demanded respect. She'd earned her role in the castle with not just her kindness but her rough discipline and high expectations. She was a figure-- standing for women and equality, one not to be taken fun of. "Seems you were late for the beginning of the selection." Unlike Santiago though, Enzo was perfectly fine with the challenge that was Queen Juliana. He stood upright, a smirk formed on his lips as he watched.

Queen Julianna Jackson

Julianna watched as the three guards bowed. The young girl next to them, no doubt one of the Selected, bowed as well. Alexandre had his usual thousand-yard stare, with no affection in his voice. She had often wondered why that was. Santiago looked nervous, almost as though he didn't want her to hear what he was saying to the Selected. From what she had heard, it didn't sound they were planning a romantic rendezvous after the curfew.

The Selected girl looked as red as a summer tomato. Julianna wanted to tell her that she hadn't heard anything troublesome or embarrassing, just a simple request to be escorted to the restrooms, but she knew that such statements would only make the situation worse. Instead, she only said "You weren't interrupting much, dear." Again, she thought. This is the third person other than Cassius or Marcus that I've called 'dear'.

Enzo, though polite, seemed at ease around her. She let out a small laugh when he asked her if she was late. "It never said that the queen had to appear on the first day, only the princes," she said jokingly. Then her face turned a little more serious. "As soon as the introductions are over, could you please send Cassius and Marcus to my rooms?" She liked Enzo, and almost felt like she could be a bit more of herself around him.
