Edie looked around to see the girl sitting next to her introduce herself as Emerald, a small smile curled upon her lips as she felt her nerves slowly melt away, Emerald seemed friendly enough with her bright eyes and charming smile. "I'm Edie," She replied with a soft yet friendly tone. Edie's gaze studied the fancy room, a few girls were at the buffet already eating, one girl playing the piano and the rest chatting away. "Everyone looks so posh," She whispered towards Emerald with a slight giggle, "They all look like clowns in pretty gowns!" She softly exclaimed with bright eyes. "Hey, that rhymed," Edie muttered with a smile.

Her gaze went back to the buffet table, making her stomach growl even louder. She felt her cheeks become hot with embarrassment as she placed her hand lightly on her stomach. "Come get food with me," She giggled as she stood up, grabbing Emerald by the hand and leading her to the buffet table. As Edie passed the piano, she gave a small friendly wave towards the girl playing the piano and to Prince Marcus before standing in front of the food filled table. Edie licked her lips before picking up a sugary pastry and taking a large bite out of it in hunger, "I forgot to have breakfast," She explained before taking another bite, making sure she didn't leave a mess. "So, what caste are you?" Edie asked curiously.

Shannon Brey

She chuckled at the girl's response and immediately knew she would like her.

"Finally someone who understands," Shannon turned and held out her hand to shake hers politely," Shannon Brey, resident irritating redhead. What's brought you to this 'humble' competition? I doubt you're a gold digger."

Shannon inspected every inch of the girl's face curiously, always keeping a friendly smirk. She was definitely beautiful, but had a sour demeanor that would be unpleasant to anyone not as indifferent to the situation as she was. Shannon, thankfully, was.

Mark giggled and shook his head. Aria was the girl that he was looking for, the one that he saw next on his list. what luck "oh no, its completely fine. everything you see here is for your use and comfort". he noticed that she seemed quite nervous, but also quite exited and happy. he wanted her to feel a bit more comfortable. to show her that they had similar interests, he decided that he would play a piece of his own, and also to show off to some of the girls a little bit. sitting down on the stool, he began to play. "so, tell me about yourself Aria"

Rose nodded, agreeing to the fact that someone who gets this whole thing. "My mother forced me into this competition," she told Shannon, her voice a bit monotone. "Can't you tell I'm just so enthusiastic about it?" she asked in a high-pitched voice with a huge, forced smile on her face, impersonating a girl who is actually excited about all of this.  "No but seriously it's pretty pathetic," she said in her usual blunt attitude. But how'd you get here, Red?" Rose asked her, acknowledging her fiery, red hair. She said "You certainly don't seem like the most thrilled person here," with a simple smirk and both hands on her hips.

Rose was actually quite happy she met Shannon. She was definitely pretty. It was a different kind of beauty, though. It wasn't the stereotypical type of prettiness most people thought of. She was a fan of her red hair and her many freckles. It was quite striking and bold, much like Shannon herself. Still, she was surprised she would make a friend, especially someone so much like herself. It was not a common occurrence to say the least. She could see them having common interests. Maybe even staying friends after the Selection. However, due to Rose's amazing luck, they were probably in different castes.

Paris entered to ballroom in her purple gown. She loved the dress, but she wasn't a fan of the sequins. Her hair was puled to the side, so she's look more elegant. She decided to go with natural makeup, with purple lipstick to match her dress. She had never looked so formal in her life, normally she wore show clothing for her performances or casual formal wear. Even though she was in caste 2, she barely went to formal events. She shook away her thoughts and looked around at the rest of the girls, 'Hmm they don't look that bad' she thought. She reached up to her chest to hold the charm of her necklace. Paris sighed relieved that she had the necklace that her mother gave her on. She wears that necklace everywhere she goes, it's her good luck charm. That necklace was the last thing her mother gave her until she died.

Shannon Brey

Letting out a genuine, short-lived bird-song laugh at Rose's comment, Shannon decided then and there that they would definitely be friends.

"Well, to be honest, my brother's dared me to," she replied, recovering from her laughter with a relaxed smile," two of them, anyway. They thought I wouldn't get in, I guess I showed them."

Shannon tugged slightly at the top of her dress and frown, but it quickly transitioned back to her relaxed smirk-smile as she laid her hands across her chest casually. It was in a friendly manner, almost as if to say to Rose 'keep talking, I like you' and to everyone else 'leave me alone, can't you see I have company?'

"Did we really have to get all gussied up for this? We're just talking to them, but they're acting like this is somebody's wedding day or something."

Aria was a bit out of it for a bit and her nerves might have gotten to  her but she quickly came back to reality and listened to what the prince was saying. She was the type that asked for permission before she could use something that isn't hers and she clearly didn't know that everything for their use and comfort which slipped her mind. Aria was going to be living here, under the same roof as the Princes', Queen, King and the other girls from the Selection. Aria stood next to the piano as she watched him make his way towards there and sat down. She was pretty amazed to see that he knew how to play, she thought he would be more of a guitar kind of guy but she was surely mistaken. Aria listened to the melody that he was playing, it sounded rather sad yet soothing as well. It was a beautiful piece and truly well played by him, Aria had forgotten that he had asked her to tell him about herself. She closed her eyes for a moment and gently swayed to the side just a bit following the rhythm of the notes. "I believe you will have to be more specific Prince Marcus, if you aren't then you are going to be left with be talking forever about my life." She said with a slight smile as she was still swaying just a bit with her eyes closed.

"...I'm seventeen years old, I like to read books in the most serene places, and I like to wander into nature. It's just that something about nature leaves me questioning what we could have ever done to deserve such a wonderful gift." Aria said as she opened her eyes slowly to make eye contact with him. "I play the piano and paint during my free time, I know...it sounds a bit bland but it's what helps me." She added. Aria was really having a conversation with him but she didn't want to keep on talking about herself since she didn't want to seem self-centered, which she isn't. Aria walked around and sat on the edge of the seat with him as she began to add into his song. "What are your hobbies?" She asked him, wanting to know more about him and who he truly is.

Alexandre St. Clemente

Alexandre woke up fairly early the morning of the Selection. He wanted to goof off a little bit before he had to get serious. He got up and dressed in loose shorts and a t-shirt before heading into the training yard. The guards had a section of the gardens that was exclusive to them for training purposes. The Archery range was out there, for example. Only one guard ever used it though, and that was Alexandre. He simply didn't like firearms. He found them too violent and irritating. He worked better with a bow and arrows. Standing fifty from his target, Alex raised the bow and drew back his arm until his thumb brushed his jaw. Taking a deep breath to steady his hand, Alex's released the string, sending the arrow soaring into the dead center of the target. Smiling to himself, Alex ran through the obstacle course with his bow, using the arrow targets that were normally meant for firearms. When the sun began to rise over the east horizon, Alex headed back to his room to prepare himself for the day. He stowed his bow away and then showered before taking time to arrange his tousled hair on his and make himself look presentable. Then he ventured into his closet and shrugged on his uniform. Once dressed, he headed to the room of his assigned girl, Acadia Sung.

As he escorted Lady Acadia to the ballroom, he couldn't help but notice how elegant and beautiful she looked. Of course, seeing such women wasn't a rare occasion for a man who spent the majority of his time guarding the royal family. Alexandre especially did this, as well as Enzo Stockholme. Enzo was the personal guard to Prince Marcus, and the temporary one to Prince Cassius. Alexandre was the King's personal guard. He'd been promoted to the position when he turned eighteen and the King learned he'd been the top of his battalion during most training operations. Alexandre nodded respectfully at the guards who waited at the door to open it for the Selected ladies as they arrived. He pointed Acadia to where she needed to go and then walked over to where two other guards about his age stood. He nodded respectfully at Enzo and Santiago, leaning against the wall rather than railing since it was the more respectful thing to do. Alex didn't talk to the other palace staff much. Most thought he was boringly moral and bland.

"Enzo, Santiago," he said in acknowledgement.

Whitney kept a soft smile playing on her lips as she spoke with the Prince in not exactly a casual way, but not in the most ladylike way either. He wasn't as bad as she originally thought he might be but he was just so....up-tight. The polar opposite of how Whitney generally acts but maybe that was the front he put up because he was the Prince and everyone was always watching him, constantly judging. It could just be because it was their first meeting but just something in the way he carried himself, he was a product of the kingdom, there is no doubt about it. None of these were bad things, it's just the way it was. There was a slight pause after he introduced himself but a question was asked and she really was at a loss for how to answer it.

"Honestly? I don't even know if I can answer that question because I know nothing about this lifestyle that you have been born and raised in. I see the kingdom on the small, crappy, T.V. I have at home and I see how orderly and elegant everything is." Whitney starts but then pauses and thinks carefully about her next words. Were they appropriate to say? Was it too personal? It was honest and you can't go wrong with honesty. Taking a breath, Whitney starts talking once more. "I am in no way proper or elegant and my life is a mess, I am a mess and maybe that's just part of being young but, at this precise moment. I have no idea how to answer that question, but if you do let me stay and I get a grasp on all of this, I will let you know the answer to your question when I figure it out myself."

Whitney was actually generally proud of herself that her voice didn't shake and that her words didn't falter. Her confidence was still there and even though she was looking at possibly one of the most powerful individuals and she wasn't intimidated in the slightest. The Prince had a kind smile that rested on his lips as she talked and she was able to hold eye contact with him.

Vanessa Nuvari

Vanessa's breath caught in her throat as the princes entered the room. She'd seen them plenty of times before when she watched the report on her small T.V. at home, but they were different in person. They were....handsomer somehow. There could be no doubt that they were princes. Both men carried themselves with confidence and poise; they radiated elegance and leadership. Vanessa looked both of them over thoroughly, as if seeing them for the first time. Both were gorgeous men, but Cassius was smaller and more mature-looking then Marcus was. Vanessa was shaken from her thoughts when Cassius spoke, and she listened to prince attentively. After he'd introduced himself, his younger brother repeated his actions and the meetings began. Vanessa giggled when Cassius called the first name. She felt a lot like a young teenager waiting for her chance to go backstage and meet their favorite pop star. Nessa's thoughts calmed her nervousness and she looked around as everyone began conversing, beginning to enjoy herself.

She wasn't the type of girl to approach someone randomly and start conversation, so instead she looked around for something to draw on. Eventually she decided to just use one of the paper napkins situated on the long buffet table. Swiping a couple, she sneaked over to where Jonas, her guard, was standing and asked him for a pen. The older man handed her a ballpoint pen and sent her back to her seat. Vanessa glanced around, making sure no one was attempting to gain her attention, before beginning her drawing. She didn't actually know what she was drawing, but as her mind relaxed and her imagination took over, sending her into her own little dreamland, the small intricate designs began to form a butterfly.

"Wow a dare, huh?" Rose actually sounded interested for once, quite uncommon when she was talking to someone. "Very interesting," she said, dragging out the "i" in "ing". Rose liked that she joined on a dare, made her more intriguing than she already seemed. But she was a bit taken back that her brothers thought she wouldn't get in. She was easily the most fascinating person compared to the others. Especially since she was most like Rose, which was a plus, of course. Listening to what Shannon said, she wasn't surprised she didn't like all of the dressing up. Rose smiled a bit at her comment about going to someone's wedding.

"I dunno," Rose started "I kinda like dressing up. Never got much of a chance to before." She then added "We are just talking to them, though," ageing with Shannon. Looking around, she noticed one of the princes, she didn't know which one since she didn't pay attention, sit at the piano with one of the selected girls. "Bet you contestant number one has already chosen his winner." With a gesture towards the prince and the girl, she acknowledged who she made a snarky remark about. She had no shame about the rude comment. Rose hadn't even given the guy a chance and she was talking behind his back, it wasn't uncommon for her.

Shannon snorted in response," Interesting is one way to put it. The two of them owe me when we're through with this at least."

She was glad Rose wasn't some desperate bachelorette in all this, she didn't seem the type, but Shannon had met enough actors in her day to know people aren't always as they seem.

"I guess I do, but my parents have been forcing my brothers and I to formal dinners all of my life. Plus, strapless dresses are torture no matter who you are."

She chuckled slightly and listened interestedly as Rose changed the subject to one of the princes. Swiveling her gaze to fix in his direction, she couldn't help but roll her eyes and nod in agreement to her new friend.

"Watch, tomorrow they'll announce the wedding."

Shannon was glad to find someone else who was willing to express their feelings, even if they weren't the best ones. Sure, it made her seem like a bitch to many other people, but then there were the Rose's of the world; the others willing to share their opinion no matter what it is.

He looked a bit surprised that she spoke with such genuine honesty, he figured she'd just give him some lies or actually have a reason but it seemed she was being honest with not having a reason at all. It was almost reinforcing the fact she needed time to stay in the selection before she could figure it out at all, that made sense though considering the fact this was likely new to her, so he decided to make his next question and actually be able to learn more about her. "Thank you for the honesty. It's honestly difficult to find people who won't lie directly to your face anymore so I genuinely appreciate it." He held the kind smile since that was realistically the kind of guy he was and there was little to change a persons personality if they believed who they were and stuck by it without a doubt.

He then remember it wasn't time to just praise her and decided to ask another thing that would hopefully be allot simpler, "If you wouldn't mind to.. could you tell me about yourself and don't be afraid to mention anything at all, but only if you feel ok doing it. Afterwards you're welcome to ask any questions you have for me and i'll do my best to answer them" He spoke in a calm and gentle tone knowing not to make issues or else it could end up being something more invaluable to him. For example if he spoke with a more aggressive tone then it'd be more likely that people wouldn't want to speak about said topic with him. But if he held his current tone maybe people would be more willing to talk to him and actually go out of their way to speak with him, but time was one of the major things he had to concern himself with.

He knew he had more people he had to get through with speaking to them, though he would like to take time and learn about all the girls he'd have to get through the basic introductions today and then he'd have more time to talk with each of them individual to learn about the kind of people they were and how they lived and learned.

The look of surprise on his face made her smile grow just a little bit. Who has he been talking to lately? Whitney never, ever really told lies since she didn't find the point in them. Especially with gossip and all that, she never understands the point because most of the time, gossip comes from someone who doesn't even know what they are talking about or who the person even is. What also helped Whitney was that she was an awful liar and the one time she managed to pull off lying, the guilt ate her alive so she just decided to be as blunt as she could be with just about everything. That doesn't mean she doesn't have secrets, everyone has secrets. The most she will do is conveniently skip over details that she doesn't want the particular person she's talking to, to concern themselves with anything that was unimportant.

His second question was easier than the first one but still not the easiest. "Well.." Whitney starts, pausing to see where she could start and also keep it short and to the point. "I am a six, though you probably already know that. My mother, while I was growing up, taught me how to sew and tailor clothes ever since I could  walk. I actually tailored quite a few things for the palace but not anything that's all that recent so I doubt I would see it around here" Whitney says but pauses again not knowing what she should really tell him without getting too personal. "I'm 18 years old and I absolutely love the sound of the piano and I've always wanted to learn but I just never had the opportunity to." Whitney finished not really knowing what else to say about herself really.

It was her turn to finally ask the questions even though she was probably only going to ask one. "So answer one question for me and then I'll get out of your hair so you have a chance to talk to all the other girls here." Whitney starts and then she sits up a little straighter and smooths out her plum colored dress just a little bit. Then she asks, "What is your biggest pet peeve?"

"At least you'll actually have an excuse to dress up." Talking to Shannon definitely was a lot better than sitting there by herself. Of course, Rose had no problem with being alone. She just preferred someone who was smart and had common sense, which both Shannon and Rose had, making them instant friends. Her hands were still on her hips as she continued to look around the room. At least her gaze wasn't as icy as it was before. She also noticed the other prince and another girl sitting together as they talked.

"And we have our winners," she said in a low, unenthusiastic voice. With another indication towards who she was talking about, she turned only her head to look at the pinkish skinned girl and the first prince that came out. Turning back to face Shannon, she said "Why else would they pick her first? Luck?" Being lucky had nothing to do with this. Some maybe saw this as a competition, but Rose saw it as a waste of time. Something made up to fill the empty hearts of the princes. Of course it had to be fake. It had to be scripted.

Prince Marcus Jackson

actor-beautiful-boy-boyfriend-Favim.com-2204107.jpg

Mark was amazed that Aria and himself shared such similar interests and hobbies. he looked into her eyes the entire time she was talking about herself, not needing alot of focus for the piano since he knew the keys like the back of his hand by now. he was taking mental notes for use in later conversations and get a sense of who she was. she seemed vary sweet and kind, although he didn't want to get that attached to her. after all, Aria was the first woman he had talked to. He became a bit more surprised when she sat down beside him and added to the song.

Mark giggled a bit at her question "believe it or not, your interests are vary similar to mine" he said with a warm smile. "you see unlike my brother, i was never given big responsibilities. as the little brother, i was treated like i couldn't handle such things and was put in the background. this gave me the space to peruse my own passions and Music and Art were a big part of that. my parents had me classically trained in the musical and visual arts, and i love it" he then did a beautiful piano rift, then going back to the song

Shannon Brey

Turning her head and sending her firey hair cascading over her shoulder, Shannon couldn't help but scoff at the other prince and his choice.

"It makes you wonder if everyone else here is an actor and we're the only normal ones."

It was nice to have a sarcastic conversation with someone, since many of her brothers would have gone back to their games or dragged her along into it with them by now. Thinking about it, Shannon had never really had a female friend in her caste, they were all too stuck-up and prissy for her liking.

"This place is all a little over the top, but at least they do everything to make it comfortable. The luxuries of being a One, huh? I've got some nice stuff back home but, nothing like this."

Cassius J.

With the question that was proposed to him he had to think about what exactly his pet peeves were but he also knew that he'd need to talk to the others or else he wouldn't be able to know more on every single girl who was there. So he took a brief moment of thought to take into consideration the fullness of the question and exactly what he should answer to that, so eventually he decided to say one that could probably be counted as a pet peeve so he could actually express it a bit more. "Well.. I suppose my biggest pet peeve. If you can even call this that, would be having people put too much on my shoulders. Like having someone tell you you were going to do this and then on top of that another extremely high expectation. Either that would be my biggest pet peeve or people who chew with their mouth open and smack their lips.. it just seems wrong to do so" He spoke on that with the utmost respectful tone as not to shame her if she had done or currently preformed such actions.

That's when he knew he would need to part ways with Whitney so he could converse with the others as well and actually learn a little bit about each of them. Though he did plan to be diverse with his questions for every one of the girls as not to seem unoriginal and as though he were on some sort of set goal to the point he was only thinking of one thing, though it was possible he'd use the same question on a few girls since everyone runs out of things to ask most of the time. Especially when you're expected to talk to numerous people and learn traits from them within a limited span of time. "Thank you for your time though Ms. Costello, I do hope we can talk more in the future but sadly our time must be cut short here. Since.. as I know you likely understand, I have to speak with many of your comrades as well" He sounded kind even in saying something like this but he did know it was right and afterwards stood with a slight bow to her.

After saying such he pulled a piece of paper from his pocket, he had already gotten through one of the names on his list now he had quite a few more to call. "You're free to go and enjoy yourself now" He said with a smile before looking out at the crowd again. "Would Ms. Vanessa Nuvari please come over to the couches.. I would like a moment of your time" He announced outwards so whoever that girl was could come over and actually be interviewed per say.

Aria smiled when she heard him tell her that they shared similar interest. Aria didn't expect for this to happen nor did she know that the Prince had a love for the arts. Aria could already see herself sharing a few art interest with him since she was an art fanatic but her mind belonged to great thinking. "I was just like you as well...but I am a bit more on the passive side of things which is why when I was younger my mother and father would not let me do most of the things that I would like to do." She said to him as she slowly took her fingers off of the keys and placed it on her lap gently. "In life, you cannot let others define you, the way I showed my mother and father that I could do big things is by creating something called The Box of Hope and this really did show them that I could be independent and do most of the things that they do every day." She said to him and turned her face to look at him.

"But I mean, everything happens for a reason and if they had not done that to you, how could you have ever found the passion for musical and visual arts?" She said to him with a slight smile. Aria was pretty motivational but sometimes she had a hard time motivating herself since she used to doubt herself in the past but those days are a bit gone now. "You should thank them, all of our parents do things for a reason, but I feel as if they do it just to push us, for us to show them what we are truly capable of," Aria added.

"They do look like clowns! But, we're just as dressed up as they are. Does that mean we're clowns too?" Emerald asks Edie, raising an eyebrow, curiosity etched in her delicate features. There was obviously a difference between the girls part of the Selection, and the guards and aristocrats scattered around the ballroom. The girls weren't accustomed to such luxury as the guards, maids, and higher-caste folks were. Emerald was surprised she wasn't dreaming about being in the beautiful dress, in the castle, about to meet the princes'.

Emerald giggled when Edie's stomach rumbled. She'd by lying if she said her stomach hadn't done the same at the sight of all the food. She had glanced at the buffet twice while being here, and for both times, it took everything out of her to not rush over to the table and eat everything. When Edie grabbed Emerald's hand, leading her to the tables of food, Emerald had a smile on her face. She could already tell that her and Edie would be good friends.

As they made their way, Emerald couldn't help but notice that Prince Marcus was in deep conversation with one of the girls. Her smile quivered slightly. He'd only been with one girl, and he was clearly enjoying his time. How would that leave the rest of the girls?

No Emerald! You shouldn't act like that! You'll have your chance soon! She scolded herself, replacing her scowl with a smile once more.

"I haven't eaten either," She tells Edie, grabbing a plate from the end of the table, and looking at the assortment of dishes. "These all look so good! In my caste, we don't get a lot to eat. Gosh, I think I'm going to faint!" Emerald began to fill up the plate with pastries, cheeses, and meats, and answered Edie, "I'm from caste six. Though Santiago tended to push people away, afraid they only wanted to use him because of his looks, or because of the money his parents had. Santiago pointed at a red-headed girl, who was in a conversation with a brunette. Both were beautiful, but something about the red-headed attracted Santi.

She chuckled while nodding. "If that's what being normal is," she shrugged nonchalantly. Rose was already over all of this. It was clear who would win. Spoiled princes like them never changed their ways. Or at least they would say they would give everyone a chance, when in reality they already had their choice embedded in their mind. The other girls might as well forget they ever had a chance. Rose wouldn't be sad or shocked if it happened since she knew it would happen from the very start. "Over the top is an understatement," Rose told Shannon. It was so bright in the room alone. It was filled with marble and luxuries she could never dream of, but she wasn't complaining.

"I'd imagine you've got some good stuff," she smirked. She wasn't being rude. She's only rude when she wants to be and she'd never be rude to someone like Shannon. However the two of them being against each other would definitely be a show to see. Though she wouldn't dream of it. Shannon seemed like the only person besides Rose who was smart enough to realize what they were actually getting into. "I'd also imagine you would have a secret admirer," she said after she took another quick glance around the room to notice one of the guards pointing to Shannon. "Guards, huh? They think no means yes and yes means you're all theirs," Rose joked with a wink.

Vanessa Nuvari

Vanessa had completely spaced out of reality, so when Prince Cassius called her name, it startled her. She was able to refrain from jumping but her head swung around to look in his direction fast enough that her unruly mane of dark hair swung around like a lion's mane. Her cheeks reddened slightly as she stood up, patting down the skirt of her dress. She looked down at the pin and napkin butterfly in her hand. She probably shouldn't bring it with her, but she shrugged to herself anyway, walking over to the Prince. When she reached the couches, she smiled at him and curtsied respectfully before taking a seat on the couch across from him. Good lord, he was even cuter up close. Vanessa's smile widened slightly and she brushed a lock of stray hair behind her ear before she spoke.

"Hello, Prince Cassius," she said softly.

Enzo used his tongue to lick the sides of his cheeks, nodding slowly as Alexandre introduced himself. "Alex." He said softly, his eyes still scanned the large ballroom as he spoke. "You're late. Did you and Santi switch sleeping schedules?" He teased, letting out another short laugh, rubbing his chin before pulling his hands back into his pockets. It was another act of disrespect though no one really took note of it anymore. "Saw you bringing in your selected." He snorted, whistling into Alex's ears before glancing back at Santiago. "You gonna help me roast him or what?" He joked, brushing his hand through his hair. His hand continued through his curls and down onto his neck, his other hand still rested in his pocket. With that he sighed, his eyes observing his surroundings lazily.

"Eh, so we're playing royal guard again, huh? The princes are occupied, your selected are... socialising." He finally looked back at the two other guards, curving his lips upward playfully. "I'm already feeling bored, sure we aren't allowed to talk to the selected too?" He asked, tapping his feet against the floor tiles impatiently. "I don't want to have to stand all day. There ought to be something we can do, aye lads?" He said again, rubbing his chin once more. "What do you think they'll do to me if I do talk to one of the selected. D'you think they'll back off or banish me?" His lips curved into a smile at the sudden dare. Enzo's eyes looked back into the crowd, searching for Adelaide. As he found her, he noticed she'd blushed, his own cheeks blemished with red as he looked away. They haven't chosen her yet. How convenient. "You gonna answer me?" He asked, glancing back at the other guards.

"Oh lord, don't get me started," she replied to Rose's comment about the guards,"He's allowed to look. From afar. The last castle guard I talked to threatened me unless I went on a date with him. I still turned him down, but he wouldn't leave me alone the entire day."

Chuckling, she looked at the guard curiously, her brown eyes pointed directly to his, searching for any inkling of a personality behind all of the armor.

"Hm... if you could pick a man in the room, pretending we weren't in the selection and all, who do you think you'd give an hour of your time to?" Shannon asked her friend, genuinely curious. Shannon herself wasn't sure which man she would approach if she had a choice, but thinking about it now, the one that she was currently staring down was rather dashing, in that troublemaker way.

Cassius J.

Cassius was seated across from Vanessa now which made him think about exactly how many times he was going to be doing this. But he didn't mind as long as he was capable of speaking with each of them on his own terms. "Hello there Ms. Nuvari, My deepest apologies that we don't have too awful much time but I am required to speak with multiple ladies." He said before offering a rather kind smile to her. He was unsure as of what to ask but slowly a thought came upon his mind for a question to ask her but he should probably explain exactly what was going on first before he just began spouting off questions and speaking like some sort of uneducated buffoon. "So for the short time we do get to share together within this moment.. I would like to ask a few questions and after you answer them you're more than welcome to ask any variety of questions that you have for me" He said his tone sounded smooth and the words almost like a silk fabric woven together simply by his vocal cords to be delivered to whomever he spoke to. In this case it was Vanessa.

He quietly breathed for a moment before a few questions had officially rose to his mind, "You can be as descriptive and insightful on these as you'd like. First off, How exactly do you believe you would make a good match as a bride for me? Also, What qualities do you think the future queen needs to have?" He asked with a smile hoping that she'd answer honestly since he had a slightly uncanny ability to detect if someone was lying to him. It was freaky in a way but also kinda cool if you could use it to your advantage if you could find a way around it but that would take some time since no one here really knew him outside of what the media said.
