The nurse frowned more as she watched them shaking her head a bit "The policr will be here soon to talk with you and the gentleman who brought him in." She said in a bit of a sour tone before leaving her just as Wayne came in.

Wayne gave a small frown as the nurse left and he found Carmen. He took a shaky breath as he looked at his nephew shaking his head "Good lord.." he whispered before sitting next to her.

She frowned and just watched Eddie silently for a while until she couldn’t bear it anymore. “He would never do this on purpose… I don’t… did they talk to you?” She asked him quietly.

Wayne shook his head as he watched Eddie some "No...no one has said anything." He muttered giving a heavy sigh frowning when he finally noticed the bruises on his arm "Where did those come from? I know you kids get wild, but I doubt you'd do that to him." He said before pointing to his arms

She shook her head and frowned “I don’t know. There’s one around his throat too.” She mumbled just watching him carefully, refusing to leave his side for the next couple of days and letting the whole tbh f wash over her h tik she finally felt his fingers close around hers, hearing the whine that was undoubtedly Eddie and she looked up to see him finally start to wake up.

Eddie came to a few days late whining quietly as he opened his eyes and the lights blinded him. He squeezed whatever was in his hand before blinking a few times and looking around. He relaxed a bit when he saw Carmen next to him but was still very confused "Huh? Carmen where am I?" He asked quietly

She frowned “hey, hey you’re at the hospital babe… you overdosed big time… you were on like three different drugs.” She told him quietly, rubbing his knuckles soothingly. “Ed do you remember what happened?” She asked him quietly.

Eddie frowned more shaking his head some relaxing only just a bit "No...I...fucking overdosed really?" He said before taking a deep breath "I was trying to fucking sell it. Get rid of the shit for good. They fucking hit me from behind." He muttered before going wide eyed "Shit. Those fucking photos.."

She frowned as he tried to get up and just pushed him back “Baby stop. Who hit you from behind?” She asked him quietly, leaning back and calling for the nurse, just trying to keep him calm. “Eddie look at me and slow down.” She coaxed

Eddie tried to get up but frowned as she pushed him down "Jason and his fucking friends! Goddamn it I have to go Carmen before they put those pictures out!" He said frantically. He frowned deeply though when the curtains pulled back and a nurse came in followed by the police chief and his deputy.

She frowned and just held his hand a little tighter. “Shh it’s okay… just try to relax okay? Im everything’s fine.” She coaxed, rubbing his arm gently, looking up at the the cops and frowning. “Can’t this wait? He’s only just woken up, he’s not in a state to answer questions.” She told them but frowned when they said that it was her they needed to speak to and she just nodded, following them for a minute “what’s going on?”

The chief sighed heavily as he watched them "I actually need to speak with you Carmen." He muttered having known the girl since she was a kid. He took her out before handing over the paper and photos "You wanna tell me about this so called Ritual Sacrifice that happened in the highschool?" He asked crossing his arms

She frowned and took the paper, staring at the front page in horror. “Tell me that’s not the real paper…. That’s not… there was no ritual no nothing… that was… oh my god. Did this go to print?!” She asked them panicked. “This was some stupid fun that is all. The stuff on the table is from a DND game… I … I swear there was nothing happening. Eddie just said something about photos… the same people who took these tried to kill him! Because were a little different?! How is that fair?!” She questioned thrm

His nurse frowned hearing the girls yelling while she checked him over. “She hasn’t left your side. Threatened a staff member when she barged in here after you were brought in. Wouldn’t leave.” She told him. “You got lucky Mr. Munson. I’ll go make a call to your uncle now.” She told him as they heard more yelling and watched the cops dragging carmen out cuffed.

The chief frowned more shaking his head a bit "I wish it weren't, but it is. Those are the more um...savory photos. Listen I need you to come down to the station for a report. Your boyfriend is fine, we'll have the deputy take his statement." He explained but frowned as she started resisting. He gave a heavy sigh and soon put her in cuffs making his way out

Eddie gave the nurse a small nod but frowned when he heard Carmen yelling. He looked at the deputy when he saw Carmen being taken away as he pulled back the curtain "Hey! Come on! Where the hell are you taking her?!" He yelled

She shook her head and looked over at him. “Tell them everything.” She told him seriously, letting him push her out the front doors, swallowing back tears seeing all the people stood out there holding the town paper and shouting at her while she was pushed into the back of the car.

Officer Callahan sighed some, setting the paper in front of him. “He’s just taking her to make a report. No formal charges yet… I need a statement from you on what happened seeing as everyone here seems to think you didn’t overdose yourself.” He pointed out.

Eddie frowned more as he looked at the paper dropped on his lap. He ran his hands over his face groaning loudly "Jesus H. Christ!" He yelled before taking a deep breath "We were fooling around after the D&D club." He spat shaking his head "Jason Carver and his friends, they wanted to buy from me. My friend had given me some shit and I wanted it off me. They brought those photos and told me to give them a discount or they'd give the photos to The Post." He explained taking deep breaths "They....they struck me from behind when I tried to burn them...they held me down and shoved everything I had down my goddamn throat."

He just nodded slowly and took it all down. “So no rituals? Kinda boring if you ask me.” He chuckled but stopped when he saw him looking unimpressed. “Alright well I’ll get this all written up. There’s probably not enough evidence to prosecute anyone so you get to live and the high schoolers get to play ball…. We’ll have to see what happens with miss Sanchez.” He told him and left.

Carmen finally got back to the hospital late into the evening and went to sit by eddies bed again, taking his hand in silence and just staring at the sheets.

Eddie looked at him unimpressed shaking his head a bit "They get to play ball? Are you fucking kidding me? They try to kill me and get my girlfriend arressted yet I'm the bad guy?" He muttered shaking his head more as he left. As the hours passed by he started getting bored out of his mind. He perked up a bit when Carmen came in "Carmen! Hey beautiful they let you go?" He asked giving her hand a squeeze

She didn’t answer just gave his hand a squeeze back, staring at the floor ad she tried desperately to keep it together. She wasn’t mad at him. Never could be over that but she couldn’t live here anymore. She flinched when she felt his hand on her cheek and just leaned into the touch

Eddie frowned when she didn't even look at him "Carmen?" He asked worriedly cupping her cheek trying to get here to look at him "What did they say?" He asked softly

She just shook her head, gripping at his hand tighter. “I can’t do it anymore. I need to get out of here.” She whimpered. “Everyone has seen the paper.” She told him, swallowing hard again still not looking at him

Eddie took a deep breath starting to grow angrier at the situation. She shouldn't have to feel like this. They shouldn't be treated this way. "This my fault...had I fucking graduated on time. Had I not been a horndog. I'm so sorry Carmen."

She frowned and shook her head. “Just pass this year for me… that’s all I ask.” She mumbled frowning, glancing up finally when she heard Wayne’s voice sounding relieved when he arrived to find Eddie doing a lot better

Eddie nodded softly at her "I will, I promise." He said softly before looking up at Wayne. He gave a frown at how serious he was giving a nod "Yes sir, I promise." He said quietly

She frowned and just nodded, getting up to go use the restroom, leaving them to privacy.

Wayne sighed heavily and shook his head. “They’re gonna let you go here in a little bit, wanna clear the space. I’m gonna head on in for an extra shift later but the fridge is stocked. If you need anything, call me. Don’t either of you go out anywhere right now.” He told him frowning, “Randall has seen the paper.” He muttered.
