I’m Not Over
(Yeah, Arthur does his best to ignore it and realises That it’s all too much for him and he does want to be with Silas even with the risk of everything)
Silas wasn’t too upset it seemed which was a relief, even managing to joke with him. Arthur made a face as he talked about Galehaut hurting him, things had admittedly been very rough. Arthur nodded in understanding and stood back up to start getting fully dressed again. “I will” he promised, he’d make it up to Caroline however he could. Something warm blossomed in him as Silas didn’t ask him to move out and instead admitted he enjoyed The company, as if the man hadn’t just admitted he liked Arthur and would be happy to pursue something with him.
Arthur gave him a sideways glance though as he talked about taking partners again, tamping down the brief flame of jealousy at the suggestion. He would learn to be alright with it, because he had to be. “I am not into bruises” he clarified, as much as it appeared otherwise at the moment. “Besides, I don’t want Caroline asking what I’m getting up to” So he wasn’t shooting down the idea of meeting some of Silas’ ‘fun friends’, maybe it’s help him learn to be more casual and relaxed with his emotions, even if the idea wasn’t straight up calling to him. “She’s going to think I’ve been in a fight or something, maybe fallen down the stairs” he complained. He’d just have to stay well clothed around his wife for the moment, although he still had his limp but hopefully that’d wear off soon.
”Silas…..thank you” he said, reaching a hand out to squeeze Silas’ before dropping it and finishing getting dressed. “I need to go to Caroline, do you think she’ll still be in her room?“ or maybe she’d gone to breakfast but being upset and possibly sick might make her miss it. Arthur went to open the door and well, Caroline wouldn’t be the first one he Saw because Galehaut was still out there, leaning against the opposite wall and smirking at him. “Sleeping beauty” Galehaut drawled “awoken by Prince Charming” Arthur did not need this, Galehaut was going to be insufferable, he could just tell. It was bad enough he had to do the walk of shame, but Galehaut was making it ten times worse. Silas was right, Galehaut had been a bad choice, next time he should at least pick someone he’d never see again.
