I’m Not Over
Agravain really didn’t appreciate the tone that Christopher took with him. Now was a very inopportune time to grow a backbone. Agravain hadn’t planned to let anyone see him with the knights. He wanted to catch those coming back on quests before they reached the castle and the older ones? He was sure he could get them away somehow. And he didn’t need to sneak, they wouldn’t expect to be attacked by another knight so he had the element of surprise snd the gift of incredible power behind him. They would already be too injured to fight back once they realised what was going on.
”I don’t need you looking out for me” Agravain insisted, he wasn’t a child and he was perfectly capable of making his own decisions. The king was busy, had other things to worry about, he didn't need to know. But…Chris had given him an idea, maybe he should speak to Gavin. She’d clearly gotten away with her murders for a long time, she might have some tips to give him and he couldn’t imagine she’d disapprove of his plan. They weren’t really on the best of the terms at the moment though. Still, this was important and they could maybe bond over it.
Something told him Chris was going to continue to bite back for the moment and he didn’t want to spend his morning getting no where. “We still need to talk to James. We can decide what to do with the information then” He said, maybe it’d fool Chris into thinking Agravain would consider his words. “or are you going to throw a fit about me talking to an old man now?” Agravain muttered. “We need to know who we can and can’t trust. I’m hoping you yourself are in the trust category Chris. I’d hate to have to change my mind about that” he really didn’t want a rat on his ship. Caleb would not be happy with him if he killed Chris, but….it might be necessary to stop further pain coming to his family.
