I Put A Spell On You

Lucky Laki Malakis
@WildpeltTheCat x ThatGuyWithSouvlaki

She never wanted to join the cult, however Gloria had power she couldn't control and this place had the only one who could train her to use it. Even in her first day she could realize this place was not just in training of magic but for something much darker.

Hlllin walked in under a black cloak. A small purple aura of mirth seemed to trace his every movement, as though it was a leech on him. His smile was both terrifying and beautiful, every tooth sharp and perfectly aligned. He pulled his hood down to reveal pale skin with spellbinding blue eyes. He smirked as his cold voice protruded into the room of his new mages.

"Greetings my followers." He smirked, "today you pledge yourself to the true power of the world. You pledge yourself to the only true force of might this pathetic world has to offer."

Hillin laid a single finger on Gloria's chin and seductively traced her jaw, then pulled back, "If You feel you you are being.... degraded, then get used to it. Magic is a special thing."

Smirking, he turned and suddenly a purple sword appeared in his hand. He grabbed his servant nearby and stabbed him. Coating his sword and him in blood, hd threw the dead servant away, then licked the blood from the blade.

"This is what your life is now. Do you wish to back out?"

Gloria felt a chile go down her spine when she saw Hillin enter, more so when he traced her skin. She stood there with the others, nervously she played with the her shoulder length brown hair uncertain how she was meant to react to him. It was strange there was a sense of revulsion when she saw him but something inside her was intrigued and she questioned herself into why. She was shocked when she saw the man stab a student in front of her hazel eyes, her almighty pale skin turning white as she placed her hands in front of her mouth. "You... You.." She muttered.

Hillin bent down right in her face, his blue eyes piercing into her soul. His magic aura enveloped them both, chilling her skin to her very core. He growled, "in this world, death is the almighty force. To kill is a gift we were given. We will exercise that gift until it cannot be performed anymore." He stepped away, his aura leaving her and allowing her to warm up again, "follow." He walked into a small door.

Gloria was frozen by fear and awe as the display of magic which felt like all good things were sucked. See wanted to turn away not look away at the blue eyes but she couldn't. It was a mistake coming here and she needed to leave as soon as possible or risk getting killed. However when warmth was restored she could do nothing more then follow.

"Kill for nothing... What is the point it?" She asked meekly finding her voice.

Hillin blinked and he stopped, "kill for nothing?" He sat down, "I do not kill for nothing. I kill for purpose. Fear is what drives humans. Hope stems from fear. Fear is the essential force of everything in the world." He smirked, "what is your name, mage?"

"G..G..Gloria..." She replied though she didn't like his view on fear."You... You have hope despite fear... Not from it... Fear makes people say nothing... When they should..."

Hillin looked to the other students, "leave us." He looked at Gloria, "please, take a seat." Hillin used his magic to make a small diamond appear in the center of the room. It was emerald green and perfect in every way, "tell me, why does this emerald have any value?"

She was confused for a moment wondering why the others were dismissed. At first she feared that he would kill her but reasoned if he intended it he would have preferred to do it in front of other making her an example. She sat down as he asked." Its rarity, I figure."

He smiled and picked it up, "every stone and gem is the foundation of economics, buildings, and industry itself. We build fortresses to protect ourselves. We build these things to protect ourselves out pd fear. You don't have hope if you have nothing to fear."

Hillin leaned in, "imagine if you had no fear. Imagine if you were in control of that fear." He smiled, "I'll teach you how to turn fear into your ally."

"If I couldn't control my fear... I wouldn't be able to talk to you..."She said trying to regain some of here composure and save face."What will be involved?"

"No, I mean true control. To not feel fear at all." He lifted his hand as it began to glow red, "Make fear your ally. Rid it from your body and become one with the very essence of fear. Fear will become you, you will become fear. And then, you will hold the power of gods." Hillin looked at her, "Will you learn this power?"

She remained silent as she considered his offer. The way he made it sound made her believe that it was indeed possible to learn such things. It was tempting to say the least but a nagging doubt and moral issue in the back of her mind made her pause. "I just wasn't to control my power... I caused enough trouble because of them." She looked down sadly for a moment.

Hillin smiled to her and he leaned in, putting his hand under her chin and lifting it up to look at him. He smirked a little and he whispered, "I'll teach you how to control your magic. I'll even teach you how to double, triple, quadruple your power." Hillin smirked and he pulled away, "So, Gloria, do you want to learn how to be the most powerful mage ever?"

She remained quite for a moment, mostly to recover from him touching her again. She shrugged and nodded."I doubt you will take no as answer too well... Dont want to break that little black heart of yours."She said cheekily trying to add break the oppressive atmosphere." You have an apprentice i guess... What about the others?"

He smiled, "Oh... they'll be my servants. You'll be my personal apprentice." He stood up, "My name is Hillin. If I had a last name, I no longer remember it. You will be mine from here on out." He smiled widely and handed her a small staff, "This shall be yours. You may turn it into anything you wish."

"Yours? Ok... Fine... Just last time someone said that he landed 100m away from me."She said with a smirk, recalling the first time she discovered her powers. It saved her life. She took the staff and looked at it."How? I wouldn't mind something more akin to a wand." Before she new it the staff began to srink and morph to the exact wand she had in mind. "Wow."

Hillin smiled and he slowly raised his own staff. It was long and slender, with intricate runes spiralling around it. Towards the top was one sharp blade that curled up towards the bearer. He smirked, "That is made of a special material known as Teraxium. It is a blend of obsidian, metal, copper, iron and magic spells. It recognizes your aura and reacts accordingly. You can change it to anything, and weild your powers through it."

"It is quite something, i would never have though this was anything bit wood. Shows what i know." She said before standing up and trying out her wand pointing it at one of the rooms decoration. She tried to think of what she felt when she was attacked... Fear... Anger... Self preservation. However nothing came out her wand. Maybe she just didn't have the right feeling. She looked back at Hillin."Where do we start?"

"Your magic is triggered by emotion." He sat down, "Willpower is a force of hte mind. There is a certain point in your mind that the magic stems from. You have to search for it. Open it up. When you do, you'll feel the magic flowing through you, then out the staff." Hillin smirked, "Try to unlock it."

"Ok.."She said holding her wand up again. It looked like she was in the right track just needed to concentrate. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to concentrate like she did back at the attack. She opened her eyes with new focus as she felt an energy running from her head to her arm gathering up in the tip of her wand. She flicked her wand releasing the energy as a gust of winds knocking an object to the grounds."Haha!"

Hillin gave an evil smile and he lead her out of the room, "Come, you shall see your quaters, before we continue." He lead her down a confusing twist of hallways and rooms until he showed her a large grand chamber. It was across the hall from an even larger chamber, "You're here, I'm across the hall. Be glad I choose you." He smiled wickedly.

"Wow, i see... Will take me a while find my way back here." She said in slight awe at the size of this place, it didn't even seem this big when she arrived to the place. She looked back at his last comment feeling uncomfortable on what he meant by it. "I am sure you will be as well."

Hillin laughed and he pointed to the wall, tapping it with his staff. For a brief second, tiny green dots flashed, "When you find a wall, tap it with the end of your wand. Go down the one where the green dots appear. Only you and I will be able to see them." He smirked, "I thought you'd need some help getting through this place."

"Thank you." He said with forcing a small smile before raising her want and trying the trick herself. Sure enough, there were the green dots." Okay, Hellin, what else have you got for me?"
