Realistic or Modern I need more than your Photograph

Max gave a small nod and kissed him gently "I promise I will get you home soon enough." She said softly smiling a bit at him "I'm just happy it was easy to reverse."

It was a couple months before they managed to get out to the states to go see her family and he was doing ten times better, hadn't had a panic attack in a few weeks and aside from the headaches which they had been told was completely normal he was pretty much right as rain, "You wanna drive or me?" HE asked her once they'd put their bags in the back of the rental at the airport in Dallas, pulling her in close and kissing all over her face. "I ever tell you I love you?" He grinned at her.

Max smiled happily as she held him giggling as he kissed all over her face "I'll drive, this traffic is a bit crazy. People drive like maniacs." She said happily before kissing his face as well. The past few months had been a struggle at first, but thankfully he didn't take long to bounce back. Added to the fact he hadn't had an episode in a while made things all the better. She was so happy to have him back to being nearly his normal self. She was a bit worried about her family, they were worried about him and how he would fit with their daughter.

He nodded and smiled “I see.. don’t trust my driving.” He pouted, setting her down and went to get in the car, frowning when he realised he was getting in the wrong side, going round to the passenger side. “Do I get to pick the music?” He asked her, spreading out in the front seat. “How long tik we get there?”

She laughed a bit and nodded some "Yes thats totally it. I trust you in Georgia just fine." She said giggling as he went to the wrong side "Already forgot?" She teased before kissing his cheek and getting in the car. She started on their drive and smiled happily "About 30 minutes if traffic isn't too bad." She said giggling as Kas barked happily in the back "Yes I know you're wanting out."

He just nodded and yawned. “That flight wasn’t too bad at least… what do I need to expect? Should we stop off somewhere so I can get them a bottle of something?” He asked, stretching out and placed a hand on her thigh while she drove

She laughed a bit and shook her head some "No no, nothing like that. My dad may seem off, he is just trying to be intimidating. They uh....they're worried about your health and if we are good together." She explained sighing as she squeezed his hand "I know once they meet you though they'll love you."

He nodded and sighed a little. “I know… and I worry about it too… but I’m doing everything i can to stay on top of it.” He promised her, leaning his chair all the way back when Kas continues to whine and wriggled to get him out his crate, bringing him to sit on his lap in the front. “Don’t shit on me ya hear?” He chuckled, playing with his ears.

Max laughed lightly and smiled as Kas went to lick on his face "I know you are babe." She said softly before yawning some "I know we haven't traveled in a few months, but I'm getting tired of planes." She murmured trying to adjust herself

He sighed a little and nodded. “I know babe but you’re back in Georgia after this… I’ve got meetings in LA then I’m just sending out auditions til the next job.” He told her quietly, making kiddy faces at Kas.

Max smiled happily as she glanced at them "Yeah, hopefully we can relax again." She said softly before she went on humming to the radio. As they parked at her parents driveway she began to grow even more nervous "Well....lets go." She said softly before getting out of the car and walking with him and Kas to the door.

He nodded and went straight to the back of the car to dig through his rucksack for some paracetamol, taking it quick then headed inside with her, taking her hand in a gentle squeeze.

She smiled widely and knocked loudly on the door. She smiled widely seeing her mother open the door engulfing her in a hug "Hey mom! This is Joseph." She said happily as she pulled away and gestured to him.

Her mother smiled wide as she looked at the young man "It is a pleasure to finally meet you sweetheart." She said happily to him before leading them inside "Now Joseph, do you go by that or by Joe?"

He nodded and smiled, gesturing for max to go first, walking behind her still holding her hand tight “uh either one. Yeah either one.” He mumbled, keeping an eye on Kas that he didn’t go to the bathroom in their house.

She squeezed his hand happily giving a bigger smile as her father came into view "Dad! Dad this is Joe, my fiancé." She said happily pulling Joe up to shake his hand.

Her father looked Joe up and down raising an eyebrow at the frog bucket hat that sat ontop of his head "Good to finally meet you." He said a bit coldly as he shook his hand firmly

He nodded and smiled. “Good to meet you too.” He told him, shaking his hand. “Heard a lot about the family. All good things.” He smiled, winking over at max, frowning when she just laughed at him, looking above his head. “What? Oh … god I’ve still got this thing on.” He muttered taking it off quickly and chuckled, blushing out of embarrassment. “Sorry. Was keeping people from noticing me.” He chuckled.

She smiled and laughed a bit when she realized his hat still on "Oh! And this is Kas!" She said happily picking up the dog who was looking aroumd confused at who everyone was.

Her father gave a small nod "Yes, Maxine has said you're a very popular actor now. Said you're also having issues with fans bothering you. Caused some health problems." He muttered and flinching when his wife hit him as a sign to shut up.

He nodded slowly, scratching his nose. “Uh yeah… yeah they think the head thing was more of a predisposed thing and the stress just sped it up.” He explained. “But I’m doing a lot better. All thanks to your wonderful daughter.” He smiled over at max, thanking her mum when she brought him a glass of water and he stayed practically glued to maxs side.

Max blushed lightly as he complimented her and moved them to go sit on the couch 'Maxine dear come help me with dinner real quick!' Her mom called leaving Joseph and her dad alone.

Her father frowned a bit was he watched Joseph and shook his head a bit "So just out of curiosity, what made you think to propose to my daughter and not ask or meet us before hand?" He said sternly.

He swallowed thickly and shrugged. “We’ve been together a while. Busy schedules… plus I figured she was old enough to make her own decisions… I don’t really believe in the whole asking the father thing. Bit archaic.” He told him, enduring another twenty minutes of being berated by her father before food was ready and they went to sit and eat, quieter than normal throughout lunch and then quieter still when her dad continued to tell him how much he didn’t like Joe, loudly in front of everyone, eventually Joe just stood up and kissed her cheek, heading out to the car.

Max frowned deeply as her father berated Joe infront of her. She watched him finally leave and shook her head some "Why?! Why did you have to do that huh?! He is a good man Dad, a VERY good man and he makes me the happiest I have ever been. Expect to not be invited to our wedding and just so you know, I plan on moving to the UK with him as well. So goodbye and thank you for ruining this night." She said furiously to them quickly gathering her things and Kas going to Joe.

He was sat on the hood of the car trying to keep himself calm but relaxed when she came out, wiping his eyes. “You wanna go get a hotel?” He asked her quietly, pulling her to stand between his legs and just held her for a minute.

Max walked out to him with Kas on her tail and nodded as she wiped her eyes. She threw her arms around him and cried quietly as she held him "I am so sorry. I told them off....I would have never brought you had I'd known he would act that way." She said into his neck

He shook his head and held her tightly. “It’s not your fault love…. Come on, I’ll drive us.” He murmured, giving her hand a squeeze and got in the car, giving her time to get situated before driving to find a decent hotel. “He told me to leave you so that you could get on with your life. Cause you’ll just end up looking after me.” He muttered sighing a little while he held her hand and followed signs for a Hilton

Max scoffed and shook her head some "Why would they care if that were to happen? It's my choice and if it means being able to live my life with you then I would give everything up." She rambled before sighing heavily. She kissed his hand and made her way inside with him when they got to a hotel frowning as her phone started to ring her mother's number.
