EEVEE


Eevee wasn't surprised about Sarthiss's comment, touching the burn. She waited on the others to gather and smiled, playfully punching Sarthiss's arm and standing next to him.


ROU


Rou became annoyed at Cut's language. He didn't like it at all. "Fine. I'll find someone else to fit the bill then." He said, then began to walk off towards Surea's cabin.

 

[Alstromeria]

CUTS


"Hey, I fit the damn bill. I never said I wouldn't go." Cuts didn't like being challenged, he put his smoke out. "I'm not smoking anymore, and I won't till I kill some of the little shits." Cuts glared at Rou. "Let's start now, so far I've got three gangbangers, a mexican inu, five nekos and a white boy under my belt. What's your body count?" He growled. Not waiting for an answer he followed Rou, scratching his neck agitatedly. "You said Sarthiss was going too?"


SARTHISS


Sarthiss stared at the sun untill surea, Rou, and Cuts arrived. "Cuts? Good to see ya man!" He said, clasping hands with the Inu he'd met earlier. "You've got the run down?"


CUTS


Cuts nodded. "Yep. Let's raise hell and flip shit. That's what I'm fuckin' here for." He ignored the angry stare from Rou.


SARTHISS


Sarthiss turned to Rou, smirking. "So, we got any parting info, where are they showing up more of lately?"

 

[Eevee Shadow]

ROU


Rou turned to Sarthiss with a semi-angry look. "They travel all over. There's no telling where they are."


EEVEE


Eevee stares at the Girl that was standing off to the side a bit, but was still close to Rou. She tilted her head, seeing her clothing style and that se was not really that talkative at the beginning, not questioning anything.


SUREA


Surea noticed the weary glare from the Neko that was standing in front of her, farther away. She returned her state and questioning look.

 

[Alstromeria]

SARTHISS


"Allright, seek and destroy! My specialty." Sarthiss blinked hard, keeping alert in case an unknown heat signature showed up.


CUTS


Cuts noticed Sarthiss blinked hard and did the same. "You know that trick too man? You sense heat?" Seeing the surprised look on Sarthiss's face, he barked out a laugh. "Ice man, remember? Children of fire aren't the only one who seek temperatures. My vison's probably the oppasite of yours though..." They clasped hand again. "I'm starting to like this 'let's fuck up some Akumas' shit. Let's get this party started yea?"


SARTHISS


Sarthiss nodded in agreement. "Let's kick some ass." He was liking the bond that he and Cuts were developing, opposites attract as the old saying went. He motioned to Eevee and Surea, waved goodbye to Rou, and climbed through the hole in the wall.

 

[Eevee Shadow]

EEVEE


Eevee wasn't really too fond of the whole thing that Sarthiss and Cuts and going. It was strange to think that they could become so violent when around each other. She kept the thought to herself and walked behind them, but decided it would just be easier to jump the wall like she always does. Without a second thought, she jumped up onto a branch of a tree above her, landing without a sound, then proceeding to jump from the trees, doing as best she could not to make a sound.


SUREA


Surea watched as Eevee jumped over the wall, but decided that it wasn't worth the effort and just climbed through the hole that Sarthiss and Cuts had gone through. The Neko wasn't heard, but Surea knew that Nekos would eventually make themselves noticed if they found something of interest to the group. But then again, Surea never really liked Nekos. They stayed by themselves too much and always seemed isolated. Dogs were different. They loved being around people, well...all except Cuts. He liked to be alone.

CUTS


Cuts continued observing. "I ain't gettin anything." He said, sniffing the air. "I don't smell nothin either." Cuts was lax as ever, but the fur on the back of his neck stood up, attentive. Night was falling, and that was when the Akumas were most active. He was glad he caught a few winks of sleep before they had to leave.


SARTHISS


Sarthiss usually got tired around this time, but he was excited. His arms were tense, a few flames licking up them once in awhile.


CUTS


"Stop that bruh."


SARTHISS


"Sorry man, it's a reflex." Sarthiss extinguished the flames, then saw the faint heat signatures of hellhounds in the distance. "There's some hellhounds up ahead. Wolf, where are the Akumas relitive to packs usually?"

 

[Eevee Shadow]

EEVEE


Eevee was sitting above them on her heels, watching from the height of the tree to see where everything was and where they might be.


WOLF


Wolf looked at Sarthiss and then looked back to the deeper part of the woods. 'Usually near the deepest part of the forest, and they tend to stay away from Hell-Hounds so that they couldn't be easily seen. Pretty petty I'd say.' Wolf then turned back to him and nodded in that direction.


SUREA


Surea was watching the others from behind and then noticed that the flame boy had asked the dog something. 'Like it'll respond...' She thought to herself, crossing her arms.

CUTS


Cuts dropped into a crouch and moved forwards to examine the hellhounds. "You guys wait here. Doggie, you can come if you want, but they'll smell the rest of you. I wanna get a closer look."


SARTHISS


Sarthiss nodded and leaned against a tree nonchalantly. "Fine by me bruh." Sarthiss ran a hand through his hair, then grimaced a bit when the moonlight toughed his arm, moving away from his spot to a more shaded area.


CUTS


Sneaking up on the hellhounds, Cuts noticed that all but one of them appeared to be sleeping. The one that wasn't was moaning fitfully, moving its legs in a sideways running fashion. Coming closer, he realized the sleeping hellhounds weren't sleeping at all, they were dead. "Damn bastards..." he whispered. They had to be close by, they were feeding off of the live one's suffering. They appeared to have done the same to the ones currently dead. Cuts swiftly ended the lone survivors pain by shooting a small ice spike through its brain, shaping his fingers in the form of a gun, crystalizing the moisture on the end and propelling it forwards, his hand recoiling with a quiet but audible pop. Sneaking back to the group, he reported his findings. "The hellhounds weren't alive. The Akumas have fed."

 

[Eevee Shadow]

SUREA


Surea's eyes widened at the mention of the Hell-hounds being dead. "So they're going by suffering now?" She questions, walking forwards and standing by the dog. "Seems kinda suspicious. No wonder Rou was so worked up over it."


EEVEE


Eevee's ears picked up the conversation between the two and then looked over towards where the dead Hell-hounds were. If they were dead, then the Akumas couldn't be far off. They were known to stay close to their kill after they took it's life as a bait for more victims. 'Vicious beasts...' She thought. Staying in her spot, she felt the string wrap around her arms again and they were more mist then solid. She knew that it wouldn't be smart to try and hunt them down if this was their plan to hunt for the night.

SARTHISS


Sarthiss stepped over the corpses of the dead hellhounds. He didn't care much for hellhounds except for wolf, most of them tried to kill him on sight. "Heh," he chuckled, remembering something a little girl had said to him after he had killed her dog. The dog was hostile of course, but the words stuck with him. "I hate you," he said quietly to himself in a high voice, "I hate you! I hope monsters come and eat you!"


He wandered a bit too far from the group, and was grabbed from behind. He flung his assailant over his shoulder, slamming it to the ground and sitting atop its chest. Flames ran from his fists to his elbows, sparks flying with each blow as he beat the beasts face back into its skull. Sarthiss cracked his knuckles, flames tingling up his spine as he remembered his responce to the little girl. "They tried."


CUTS


Cuts hadn't seen Sarthiss fight before, but he had now. "Dude! Fuckin' savage!" he whispered, tensing up. Sarthiss was attacked by an Akuma, so there was bound to be more nearby. "Keep your gaurd up, we need to move. Away. Sarthiss, you took one down easily enough when it got tha jump on you, but it won't be that way if we all get ambushed." Cuts raised a hand behind his head, frost coating his fingertips. He was charging up for another ice-shot, he didn't think he needed it, but 'better to watch yoself' as his gang had taught him.

 

[Eevee Shadow]

EEVEE


Eevee watched Sarthiss beat the crap out of an Akuma, as if he was waiting to let his anger out on it. She jumped down from the tree and listened carefully to the sounds, hearing a slight whisper and howl from a long off distance, but knew how close it actually was. She crossed her arms, flicking her tail and throwing her ears up. "They're closer that you think. They know we're here by now."


SUREA


Surea listened to Eevee words and knew that she was right. No way did those things not hear the cracking of bones. She looked around, noticing that Eevee knew where they were and kept on her guard.

 

[Alstromeria]

CUTS


Cuts flicked his ears around, listening to the howls and noises in the distance. Swithcing to find heat signatures (or the opposite of cold signatures really) he did, but they were faint. They were growing stronger by the minute. He shivered, pointing his finger gun in their direction. "Let's head east. Uphill. Surea, water right?" His gears were turning, revealing the streetsmart, coolheaded combatant he really was. "As we go up the hill, get water to soak into the ground. Make it slippery. I'll cover us as we go."


SARTHISS


Sarthiss saw the heat signatures too, and smiled. "Things are picking up eh? This is more entertaining than I originally thought..." Nodding his head at Cuts plan, he began in the specified direction.

 

[Eevee Shadow]

SUREA


Surea nodded at Cuts's plan, walking up the hill and bringing the water out of the ground, then spreading it back as she went up the hill.


EEVEE


Eevee walked in from of Surea, but behind Sarthiss, listening to the sounds and the. Remembered something important. "Sarthiss," she started, jogging up to walk beside him. "Don't let them bite you. It's like a werewolf effect." She looked at him, showing no emotion, staying calm as the sounds got closer.

 

[Alstromeria]

SARTHISS


Sarthiss continued trudging up the hill. "Well then. Looks like the face isn't the best tareget after all..." Sarthiss processed this new information. They were getting further up the hill, but the Akumas seemed to have picked up speed. They were just now visible from their vantage point.


CUTS


Cuts was behind Eevee and Sarthiss, running alongside Surea. He sensed the Akumas behind him. Whirling around, he planned to lease two shots, these were louder, and emulated the sound of ice cracking. They were also more powerful. He spun on his heel, the first shot impaling an Akuma in the chest. He slipped a bit, the second shot finding its place in anothers leg, crippling it and stopping the chase. There seemed to be about six more. He loosed another hail of icy bullets, but these only knocked their hunters back a bit, ice splinters sticking out of their torsos. Cuts shrugged, and continued his path up the hill, nearing the top. Two more shots charging in his hands.

 

[Eevee Shadow]

SUREA


Surea heard the shots and looked back at the Akumas that followed them, and nearly laughed at how they seemed surprised by the shots that Cuts and thown at them.


EEVEE


Eevee nodded at Sarthiss and looked forward, hearing the fire that Cuts must've let off. She ignored it, knowing that there was no way that the creatures were gonna catch up to them. However, she was wrong when she heard a loud growl and looked to her side, staring into the eyes of another Akuma, taller than the others. She froze in her own fear, stepping back a bit, but she pulled herself out of her state and a black string came from her wrist, flicking out from behind of its legs and causing it to fall back. Walking over, she pulled out the switch that she kept, slicing it's chest and leaving it to bleed out. She walked back over, putting the blade in her pocket.

 

[Alstromeria]

SARTHISS


An Akuma lept at Sarthiss, knocked him over, and fell on top of him, snarling and grunting. Sarthiss tried to keep its mouth away from him, heeding Eevee's warnings about the werewolf effect, but this left him open for it to slash at him with it's claws. Sarthiss managed to block the majority of the swipes, but it scratched his arm up, tearing it open. Bleeding profusely, Sarthiss broke its neck with a sickening snapping noise, throwing it to the side. "Dammit," He said, looking at his arm. He heated his hand, pinching the three deeper scratches closed and cauterized the wounds. He felt a bit weaker after loosing so much blood, but could still continue.


CUTS


Cuts grinned the grimace-smile that he was stuck with because of his scars and leased two more of the shots. One stuck straight between the eyes of one of the Akumas, the other smacked into the shoulder of another. The remaining three were slipping and sliding to get up the hill. Cuts touched the wet ground, gathering moisture that he froze around his fists in sharp blades, enhancing his natural claws. He slid down the hill, leaving a path of ice in his wake. He dragged his claws across ones exposed stomach, making mutiple fatal wounds. He whirled around and literally stabbed his hand through the seconds chest, his fingers poking out the other side of its back. The last one turned and fled, so he charged up a powerful ice blast between both of his hands, shooting the fleeing creature in the back. He grimace-smiled again. "That's the last of the bitches." He grunted.

EEVEE


Eevee looked at Sarthiss, a concerned expression spread over her face. She didn't move, still thinking about the Akumas. She couldn't keep fighting them if they kept getting closer, and if they touched her, they could scare her bad enough to bite or kill her. She decided that that wasn't going to happen, and knew to keep her focus from now on.


SUREA


Surea watched as Cuts killed the last Akuma, then taking the water out of the ground and putting it into a bottle for healing purposes. She knew that it was going to be needed later. "Well. So much for the rest of the night. Should we take shifts? Watch for a couple hours then switch?"

 

[Alstromeria]

SARTHISS


Sarthiss was breathing hard from all the running and fighting, and his wound didn't help. He did a pretty bang-up job deciding to burn it shut, but then again, he was a child of fire. He sat down at the top of the hill slowly, letting his tense muscles relax a bit. "Sounds good to me, but I doubt anymore will show up after so many of their own were killed. Badass work Cuts, the scent of their own blood in the air should keep them away." He held out his undamaged arm for a fistbump.


CUTS


Cuts nodded, switching to heat vision and looked around. "The only things I see are a rabbit, two squirrels, and a family of mice." He switched his vision to normal again. "Surea's right. Here's as good a place as any, the top of this hill is clear, and it gives us a nice vantage point. I'll take first watch if there's no objections." Being a child of ice, his affiliation of energy to the moon wasn't as strong as a child of waters, but he still had enough energy to last a couple more hours in fighting shape. Some cold water vapor trailed from his palms and mouth, his tounge was hanging out a miniscule amount. The only problem was the moonlight hitting Sarthiss, so Cuts fetched a big limb off a nearby tree and handed it to him. "Cover yourself with this man."


SARTHISS


"Thanks bruh. You fight good, we should call you marshall dillon by the way you handle those guns." Sarthiss incinerated the branch, turning it to an ashy blanked and sheilded himself from the moons light.

 

[Eevee Shadow]

EEVEE


Eevee knew that she wouldn't be able to sleep, so she climbed into a tree and sat on her heels on the branch, putting a hand to the rough bark at the base and looking out over the land that was lit by the moon. She was becoming a bit more distant again, not wanting anything to do with the rest of the group. She just wanted to go back to her own people.


SUREA


Surea noticed that the Nekonwas offly quiet, not speaking much since this mission had started. She looked at Cuts, beginning to speak once again. "Mighht as well get some sleep Sarthiss. Not a good idea to straign that cut of yours."

 

[Alstromeria]

SARTHISS


"What do you think I'm doing sweetheart?" He chuckled, curling into a ball under his moon-shield. He was still giddy with adrenaline from the fight, and the combat occupied his mind completely. He was not in control of anything he might say or do until he was well rested. He knew he sould have been thinking about Eevee, but his mind couldn't do it. He was thinking about the terrified moans of the Akumas he tore apart. "Take off your pants cowboy." He giggled in his sleep, along with other threatening nonsence.


CUTS


Cuts went to light up, but thought better of it. The Neko was off on her own, he could care less. He was sure she could too, he was an Inu after all. He thought Sarthiss and the cat girl had a kind of romance going on, and he was usually never wrong. He noticed Surea was paying a bit of attention to Sarthiss, so he made a noise in his throat a bit and motioned for her to get some sleep too. Cuts didn't think he could sleep if he tried, he didn't have any nicotine in his system at the moment.

SUREA


Surea heard Cuts' noise that he made and gave him a look that showed she really didn't care, but did anyways. She sat down on the ground under a tree. She quickly fell asleep.


EEVEE


Eevee heard Sarthiss's comment but didn't pay any heed to what he had to say. She just payed attention to what was going on around her, and a slight whisper in the distance told her that the other creatures had picked up on the scent of fresh blood.

 

[Alstromeria]

SARTHISS


Sarthiss slept like a log. He drempt of nothing.


CUTS


Taking first watch was a bad idea for Cuts, but so was sleeping. He shivered, fingers trembling as he tried to get a cigarette out of his box. He succeded, but failed to light it. Sighing, he pressed the end to Sarthiss's hot skin, causing the tip to burn slowly. Cuts smiled, even in his sleep Sarthiss was good for something. He practically sighed in relief as he inhaled the tobacco smoke, breathing out normally.

 

[Eevee Shadow]

EEVEE


Eevee watches as the trees moved and there was no signs that there was anything moving or coming closer. She squinted her eyes at a sudden movement in the trees, but she thought it was nothing, not hearing anything out if the ordinary.


SUREA


Surea slept well, dreaming of future encounters with the beasts.

 

[Alstromeria]

SARTHISS


Sarthiss woke with the sun. He noticed Eevee was in a tree. He checked his wound, it looked like it was scabbing over, and headed towards her. "Morning sunshine," he beamed.


CUTS


Cuts didn't sleep the whole night, but he was ok. The combination of Inu blood and tobacco would keep him going forever. He was getting hungry, so he decided to tell the others he was going to hunt. He shook Surea awake gently. "I'm getting some meat. I'll be back." He popped his collar and stuck his hands in his pockets, trudging down the hill and into the woods.

 

[Eevee Shadow]

SUREA


Surea cocked her head to the side at his words. "Uh...bye?" Age ignored him, standing up and stretching, brushing herself off.


EEVEE


Eevee looked to Sarthiss, but quickly looked back at the woods, seeing Cuts leave. She didn't say anything, just looked out at the horizon that was covered by the trees.
