Fantasy Hybrid, Magic Camp

[Alstromeria]

SARTHISS


Sarthiss let the sunlight wash over him, absorbing its energy. "It's a beautiful day Eevee, full of the prospect of blood, gore, and imminent death. What could be better than wartime?" He picked up a pebble from the ground and flicked it at her playfully.


CUTS


Cuts found a rabbit. He shot it with an audible 'pop' of ice from his fingertips. He also bagged a squirrel, two more rabbits, and a groundhog. He'd eat the groundhog and the squirrel, the others could have the rabbits. He came back to the group, his prey slung over his shoulder and handed the rabbits to Sarthiss. "Cook these if you want. Share them with the girls." He then sat down and tore into his squirrel ravenously, not really chewing before swallowing. Such was the eating habits of the Inus, much like the dogs they resembled.

SUREA


Surea watched Cuts come back with rabbits and 2 other animals slung over his shoulder, the. She watched him tare into the animal without even chewing. 'Savage...' She thought.


EEVEE


Eevee didn't paying attention to Sarthiss, just looking out at the forest, trying to see where the other hell-hounds could be. If there were dogs, there were Akumas. She knew that ambushing them at their hideouts would be a bad idea if there were too many, but if you time it just right, you could easilly kill off the area by killing the leader. Simple sounding? Yes. Easy in real life. Absolutely not.

CUTS


Cuts had finished the squirrel, that is, no more edible meat was left. He promply started gorging himself on the groundhog. Groundhog was his favorite, but he had to be careful not to get any on himself, the innards took forever to clean out of his fur. Much like a dog, he was almost impossible to talk to until he had finished his meal.


SARTHISS


Sarthiss knew Eevee was thinking about something, she usually was when she sat in a tree quietly by herself. "Care to share your thoughts honey? You don't seem allright." Sarthiss looked at his arm wound, it only looked nastier in the full light of the cool fall day. "If you're worried about me, I'm fine. But something tells me that's not it."

 

[Eevee Shadow]

EEVEE


Eevee still didn't say anything, just shot him a look that told him that he guesses right. She was concentrating on this movement in the trees that seemed to be moving toward them, but it would Change it's direction every once in a while, so she couldn't tell what it was up to.


SUREA


Surea leaned on the tough bark of a tree, seeing that Sarthiss was talking to the Neko girl. She didn't want to interfere with their conversation so she kept to herself.

CUTS


Cuts finished his meal and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. Looking up and cocking one of his ears, he took in the sounds of Sarthiss chatting, some rustling, all the woodland creatures going about their buisness. His hearing was so acute, he heard Surea breathing. He smiled to himself, she was a calm individual. He walked up to Sarthiss and tapped his shoulder. "I don think she wants to talk now man."


SARTHISS


Sarthiss had cooked one of the rabbits. He handed it to Cuts. "Yea, but she's more of a three's company person. This is usually where I just sit next to her quietly. That's for Surea." He motioned to the rabbit. Jumping up, he grabbed a limb close to Eevee and swung his leg over, using the momentum to spin himself up and quickly give Eevee a peck on the cheek. Settling himself next to her, he realized she was watching something. Sarthiss scanned the woods in search of what she had her eye on.

EEVEE


Eevee noticed that Sarthiss had sat next to her, but she didn't mind. Then, she saw it. A quick movement in the trees that could only have been made by a much larger person, or creature. She knew that there was no way to find it that easilly, but she knew where it was, and it was really close. The noises led down to the ground, and her left ear flocked, telling her that it was coming from the side. She looked in that direction. Seeing a red outline hidden in the trees.


SUREA


Surea noticed that everyone was a bit tense, or at least, the Neko was. She hadn't said a word all morning, and the fact that she kept looking around told her she was probably trying to find something. She grunted in annoyance at how attentive she was, and decided to tell her so. "Hey kit! There's nothing out the-" she was stopped by a flash of red at the corner of her eye, and then turned to look into the woods.

SARTHISS


Sarthiss saw it as well. He jumped back down from the tree, flames licking up his spine, down his arms, a few coating his hair. He tensed, ready to brawl. He assumed the flash of red was another Akuma.


CUTS


Cuts had just offered the rabbit to Surea when she snapped her head in the direction of the woods. He did so as well, switching to heat vision. It was moving so fast he couldn't get a fix on it. He held a hand behind his head and the other below his knee, charging up two ice shots

 

[Eevee Shadow]

EEVEE


Eevee growled lowly, then jumped from the branches into the rest of the forest, tracking down the Akuma quickly. It was close enough to the others, so she jumped down and kicked it from behind, sending it to the ground. It got up and attempted to bite her, but she thought quickly, taking a single strand of the black string and grabbing it's ankle, tripping it. She used the first to split into smaller ones, tying its arms and legs together so that it couldn't get away.


SUREA


Surea noticed the fight and rushed Over after Eevee had gotten it pinned. She stood on the other side of the creature, messing with a string of water in her hands.

 

[Alstromeria]

SARTHISS


Sarthiss caught up to Eevee, flames still tingling across his body. He spotted a few other blurs of heat moving around them, but he couldn't tell what they were, they moved so fast. These must have been the ones that fed on the hellhounds earlier. Sarthiss switched back to regular vision, rolling his arms, ready for any that came in the viscinity to threaten them.


CUTS


Cuts slunk in behind Sarthiss, still charging his ice shots. He had noticed the other ones, but he doubted he could hit them through the trees. He tried anyways, managing to kill one and graze another, but the rest up and fled. He stopped, but was still on gaurd. He noticed Eevee was tying up her Akuma. "What are you doing that for, kill it." Cuts snarled, "It's not a mouse to be played with, cat."

 

[Eevee Shadow]

EEVEE


Eevee glared at Cuts, warning him that she was not as innocent as she looked. She ignored him after that and didn't say anything else, just pulling out the blade she kept in her pocket, slicing the creatures chest and then snappi it's neck. She walked past him, going to wash the blood off her arms.


SUREA


Surea noticed that the cat still didn't even protest Cuts, just shot him a deadly glare before walking off. 'Someone needs to calm down.'

 

[Alstromeria]

CUTS


Cuts grunted and got a cigarette. He looked at Sarthiss when he pulled out his lighter, but Sarthiss made no motion to light it himself. "I'm serious," he said, "She can't go fuckin tying these guys up like children. She's gonna get killed."


SARTHISS


Sarthiss glared at Cuts. "She knows what she's doing. She has diferent ways of going by things, but she's allways right." Sarthiss folded his arms. "She also doesn't like being called cat, kitty, or other demeaning names. She's a Neko. Learn the word mate." Sarthiss's stare could melt steel beams.


CUTS


"Well that ain't my goddamn problem. If she's sensitive, then she needs to learn to develop a thick skin." He took a drag on the cigarette


SARTHISS


Sarthiss's expression intensified. "Yea it is your 'goddamn problem.' She's my girlfriend. You need to lighten up."


CUTS


Cuts shrugged. "Ligten up? You and your bitch haven't got a taste of what's to come yet. Yea, you fight. Yea, you have a little scratch on your arm." He grimace-smiled again, lifting up his shirt, showing off his scarred torso. "You haven't been in any BRUTAL conflict yet. That little line on your arm ain't shit."


SARTHISS


Sarthiss growled louder than any Inu could. Cuts eyes widened and he shrank back a bit, but still kept his cool.


"You want to know why I don't have scars?" Sarthiss threatened, spitting sparks, "It's because I'm a better fighter than you. And that's going to be apparent if you call my girlfriend a cat again!" Sarthiss ripped Cuts smoke out of his mouth and burnt it to a crisp in his hand. "You can't even shoot straight if you aren't hopped up on nicotine! Get your fucking head on right." With that Sarthiss strode off to follow Eevee, catching up to her, leaving a stunned Cuts to think about his actions.

EEVEE


Eevee looked at Sarthiss, showing no emotion towards what he did. she then quickly turned back to where she was going, watching and listening to the different things that could be in the forest. "Thanks for sticking up for me." She replied, smiling a little.


SUREA


Surea was shocked at how agressive Sarthiss was when it came to his girlfriend. "Well damn..." She said quietly, but kept her nose out of it. She wasn't nosey like any of her other friends.

 

[Alstromeria]

SARTHISS


Sarthiss nodded, and rubbed the area between her ears. "Yea." He still wore a scowl on his face, but whenever he looked at Eevee a grin tugged at the corners of his mouth.


CUTS


Cuts fingers shook as he took out his packs of cigartetts. He pulled out one and lit it, staying in his spot. That hothead needed to cool down. Cuts knew Sarthiss had a hot temper, but this was the first time he witnessed it for himself. He was just glad they bonded fast, or else he would have another scar by days end. Sarthiss would too, but Cuts couldn't see himself winning against that firey brawler. Even in his time on the streets, he had never seen anybody beat anyone else to a pulp with their bare hands.

EEVEE


Eevee saw that Sarthiss was still a bit mad from it, and rift as she was about to say something, a bark and a yelp was heard in the woods far off. She looked in that direction, perking her ears to hear the noises better.


SUREA


Surea almost laughed at how scared and shaken Cuts was. She still kept to herself though, careful not to piss any of the others off, well, maybe Eevee. Surea thought about how Eevee was pretty laid back, not much of a talker and doesn't do anything in defense, yet.

 

[Alstromeria]

SARTHISS


Looking around, Sarthiss noticed one of their companions was not with them. "Shit... Was that Wolf?" Sarthiss tried calling out to Wolf with his mind. 'Where are you bud?'


CUTS


Cuts was still mulling over Sarthiss's threat, but he disguised it as grandios apathy. He stuck his hands in his pockets, trotting behind the group from a distance.

 

[Eevee Shadow]

WOLF


Wolf heard Sarthiss, and he was still sitting by a tree. He noticed that they had left and ran towards where he sensed they were. 'Where are you?'





EEVEE


Eevee noticed that Wolf was gone and started to look around frantically, but then saw him running up and sighed in relief that he wasnt the dog that yelped.

 

[Alstromeria]

SARTHISS


Sarthiss was relieved that wolf was allright, but that only meant they were moving further into the unknown. He cracked his knuckles, staring ahead. The Akuma that had survived their last Encounter were bound to be close.


CUTS


Cuts realized too late that away from the group wasn't exactly the safest place to be. He was grabbed from behind, and close combat wasn't exactly his specialty. The Akuma holding him opened a good long gash in his neck, but moisture froze against his skin, sealing and healing the wound. He returned the favor, scratching at it with his long black claws. The differance was, the Akuma couldn't heal itself. He switched to heat vision, charging up two ice blasts, and shot one into the mouth of the still writhing beast that had slashed him. He weilded the other dangerously, identifying three others in front of him, no telling how many were behind.

 

[Eevee Shadow]

SUREA


Surea noticed that Cuts was attacked from behind. She was about to rush over and help but saw that Cuts could take care of himself. She turned to her side, seeing another Akuma and shot a stream of water at it, making it fall back.


EEVEE


Eevee saw an Akuma not too far of, and she immediately reacted by throwing a black flame at it quickly, then turned around just in time to block a bite from a third with the blade from her pocket. Slicing the inside of its throat made it stop immediately in its tracks. Then, she threw the dead body over to the side, hissing at it and then seeing almost twice as much blood covering her arm as before.

CUTS


Cuts managed to shoot one more before the other was on top of him. Cuts was knocked flat on his back, grappling with its arms while keeping his neck away from the snapping jaws. He head butted the Akuma repeatedly, his hands growing colder in an attempt to freeze the Akuma, but he didn't have the grip on his powers that Sarthiss did.


SARTHISS


Sarthiss smiled dangerously, the Akumas were coming to him now. No more searching, no more lurking. He was on the open field of battle, and the open field was where he excelled. He pulled his arms towards him, elbows pointed down. Flames coated his body now, hissing and spitting as they licked at anything in range. With a gleeful roar, Sarthiss smacked into the Akuma on top of cuts, pulling Cuts up and curb-stomping the monster. Laughing, he swung his arm around and nailed another. Some of the akumas had spears, and they began throwing them at Sarthiss. Sarthiss picked up the akuma who he had just floored and used him as a human shield, the demon sputtering its dying breaths as it was impaled. Throwing it to the side, Sarthiss charged, ripping one's arm off and literally beating him to death with it. Sarthiss grabbed the other by its horns, flinging it into a tree. One more tried to take a bite out of him, so Sarthiss dropped an elbow then swung up with his knee, shattering its jaw. He slammed his fists together down atop its head with a sickening crunch and a wolfish grin.


CUTS


Cuts got up and brushed himself off, switching to heat vision and looking around. "Any more?" he snarled

 

[Eevee Shadow]

EEVEE


Eevee was calm for the most part, but as she saw what exactly Sarthiss was capable, she stopped in her tracks, staring in complete shock. 'Well then. Remind me never to piss him off by mistake.'





SUREA


Surea noticed that Sarthiss was a full killer when he wanted to. A bit Psyhcotic if you bothered to ask. She noticed that the movement stopped except for a quick bolt from behind her.


EEVEE


Eevee saw an Akuma dash past Surea, and reacted quickly, pulling out the switchblade and throwing it at the creature, impaling its head. As it dropped to the ground, she walked over, was going to pull the weapon out, but instead, yanked the blade down. The sound of metal rubbing against bone could be heard for a second, and now her arms were completely covers in the blood of the kills.

SARTHISS


The flames died down. "Naww, I don't see any. Can't hear any either." Sarthiss looked around wildly, then calmed himself. He saw Eevee's arms, and came over. "You allright? Is that blood yours?" He examined her, but he didn't see any open wounds. "Guess not. Everyone else allright? Wolf? Surea? Cuts, you good?" Sarthiss's worrying, protective nature came out again.


CUTS


"Yea, I'm good." Cuts had a few bruises, and some new white scars on his torso from the demon that mauled him, but other than that he was okay. He pulled out a cigarette and lit it. "Good fight."


SARTHISS


"Good fight." He agreed cheerfuly. It was only halfway through the morning and he'd allready taken down five of the enemy. This brough him back to the days he was hunted by authorites in the time space between Flare and the camp. Who was Flare? The one who gave him all this. He was glad he'd met her, now he had friends, a family almost, of badass teenage renegades. "Well. They seem to have a way of finding us don't they?"


CUTS


Cuts exhaled the smoke from his cigarette. "Yep. They do that." He inhaled deeply again. "Only way we can stop them is to take out the patriarch. That's gonna be fuckin' impossible tho." Cuts knew a bit about Akumas from folklore in the city, but not anything trustworthy or worth while. Some said the Akumas had a king, others said they were rambling barbarians led by a chieftan. Either way didn't make a difference, but there was a strong male leader behind the Akumas.

 

[Eevee Shadow]

EEVEE


Eevee glared at Sarthiss, pulling her arm out of his grip, looking at the blade in her hands which was now covered in blood. She wasn't used to the idea that she could take something's life, but this was an exception.


SUREA


Surea noticed that Eevee was a bit tense, and the state that she gave Sarthiss wasn't a happy one. Once again, she stayed out of it. It wasn't her business to interfere.

SARTHISS


Sarthiss was a bit hurt at the glare Eevee gave him, but he knew he shouldn't have been so concerned. "I'm sorry." He apologized quickly, "Iknow you can take care of yourself." He was a bit concerned after that though. Eevee was strangely more quiet than usual. Was it because there were two other people around? Sarthiss couldn't guess.


CUTS


Cuts cocked his head. Sarthiss and Eevee seemed to be going through a particularly bumpy part in their relationship. Cuts shrugged, frost vapor trailing from his fingers, still attentive.

 

[Eevee Shadow]

SUREA


Surea noticed that there was something going on between Eevee and Sarthiss that she couldn't really put her finger on. Eevee sent him a glare, and he quickly apologized. She was very distant, and the fact that she never spoke much kinda bugged her. "Hey Kitty-cat. You OK?" she asked mockingly, being the rude individual that she usually was.


EEVEE


Eevee's ears picked up on the name that Surea had just called her, turning her head slightly to look at her from the side, she growled, tightening her grip on the switch in her hands.


SUREA


Surea laughed at how aggressive Eevee seemed, but had a feeling that she wouldn't actually do anything. "Oh c'mon Kit." She said, making a hand gesture that showed she really didn't give a shit. "I'm only asking a question." She smiled at her own comment, nearly chuckling at the look the Neko was giving her.


EEVEE


The area below her eye twitched and a hiss escaped her lips. She hated the names and snide remarks that the girl was giving her. She already had gotten tired of Cuts's bullshit, and now she was basically being doubled teamed. Surea was pushing the boundaries. Eeveee turned to face her, and one last growl rose from her throat before she spoke. "I dare you to call me Kitty again..."


SUREA


Surea was amused by the Neko's threats, and laughed at it. "Kitty..."


EEVEE


That drew the line. Eevee cracked her neck and then pounced on Surea, throwing punch after punch to teach her a lesson about calling her names, pushing her button, and thinking she would get away with it.

CUTS


Cuts eyes widened at the conflict between the two girls. He worked the cigarette to the other side of his mouth and mumbled in Sarthiss's ear; "Dude, your girlfriends wild. Is she like that in bed?"


SARTHISS


Sarthiss did nothing. The first words Eevee had spoken since they left the camp were threats. Something was up with her, what was going on in her head? "Better stop or you'll be next." he mumbled back, folding his arms. Eevee had warned Surea, and that was her problem. He didn't like to see Eevee angry though, maybe she needed something sweet. Like chocolate. Girls liked chocolate right?
