Seito placed his hand over his eyes as cover looking out into the distance seeing the same black figure Alistier did, he could feel that she wasn't comfortable in telling him just yet and was fine with that, after all they did just meet today he dismissed the idea but still had concerns for her, yeah she could handle a storm but storms are the least of a Hunter exam applicant has to worry about.


Seito was glad to see they were nearing land, it was about time too they had been stuck on this boat for what seemed like forever.


"Well, I'd just like to say revenge isn't a good goal to have."

 

[Cartonale]

Alastier snapped her head to his direction once he said those words. She had it ebbed into her mind, but she couldn't change her decision, she fully believed that she have to avenge her family. Knowing that her sister is still alive, wasn't exactly something she was happy with.


A few hours passed by, and they ended up docking sooner than she expected. Her eyes lit up as she felt land under her feet. She would kiss it if she could, but that would probably creep everyone out. The captain approached the two of them.


"Since you two are the only ones that have passed that storm without getting sick, i'll give you a hint..." Alastier leaned in to hear "Go to that big tree up there," he pointed up at the tree.

Seito hung back a little behind Alistier and remained quite, he wasn't sad or excited about anything more just too worried about his own thoughts, in fact he was lost in them. After the short amount of time spending with Alistier Seito was surprised he had felt some sort of attachment to her, it was as if he felt the need to be with her I don't get it.. he thought to himself shrugging off the feeling not long after looking to Alistier again


"Well, I guess we should start walking then hm? It looks pretty far away." he said towards Alistier taking the lead as he walked off, seeming to forget to thank the Captain for his help or perhaps he just didn't care; It was hard to tell.

 

[Regna]

"Take a left toward the station, and you should be there" Muffled voices were heard in the alleyway as I tried to decipher the map. 'Oh how I'd love to kill this map', Aeone thought as she blindly walked through the streets, pushing and shoving until she could make it through.


"It's pretty far away." She heard. Whipping her head in that direction, she tried to think of a plan to follow what looked like two teenagers that would be participating in the hunter exams.

Alastier felt a gaze, making the hairs on her neck prick up. She turned around to see a girl with white hair and blue eyes staring at her. Alastier quickly turned around and poked Seito.


"Seito, do you know her?" she asked.

Seito turned his attention to Alistier as they were walking, he felt an odd presence too; It wasn't exactly as if he knew someone was watching but felt an odd feeling as if he was, it was just a natural reaction. Seito turned around to see the white haired girl and shrugged back at Alistier "Nope, don't know her either" he said casually before turning around and facing the white haired girl behind him "Is there a reason you're staring?" he asked trying not to sound hostile which normally isn't hard for Seito.

 

[Regna]

The two people that she was certain were going to participate in the hunter exams took a peek at her, and she didn't look away, she stared in their direction until they looked away. 'Good' she thought, subliminally concealing her presence. She was raised as an assassin. "Don't let them hear or sense you. If they can sense you, you are done for." Was what she was always trained to think.


She casually walked into an alleyway, making the lightest footstep that even an ant couldn't detect. It was a dead end, and in a flash, she climbed up the brick wall. Jumping across the rooftops, she spied on the two teen-aged folks, participating in the hunter exams. Glaring at passer-byers for limiting her vision of the teens.

Alastier looked around for the mysterious girl, but the minuet she blinked, the girl was gone. It ticked her off that girl was spying on them. Seito and Alastier were walking on a pathway to the big tree on the hill, when suddenly they met up with an abandoned village. People with masks came out with random items, putting a table with an old woman down.


"What is this?" She mumbled to herself in confusion and looked towards Seito for any help on what was going on.

Seito looked down to the items that had been handed to them, he wasn't that bothered about the fact someone was spying on him he believed that it was probably another examiner spying on them to see how they fared, after all the exam had started as soon as they got on the ship that much was clear by now.


Looking at the masked men placing the woman down, he was slightly confused about the situation looking to Alistier, although he didn't give an answer straight away he gave himself time to think, coming to the conclusion it must be another test; Seito leaned in close to Alistier whispering to her "It's probably another test, be careful." he pulled back and looked to the old woman "So what do you want?" he asked her being straight forward like always.

 

[Cartonale]

The old woman squinted her eyes at us, and explained.


"This is a two question test, if any of the three of you get something wrong, than everyone fails. If you do not answer, you fail. If you leave, you fail." She listed all- or most- of the rules. Something caught Alastier's attention, she knew she felt a stare on them since they came here-and she most definitely knew that if she could sense it, than Seito could as well. She turned her head to look behind her, and smiled.


"You can come out now, we're in this together!" she called out, and waved her hand with a cheeky grin.

Seito noticed turning her head and yelling out to the girl that had been following them, Seito didn't really seem to mind whether or not the girl had decided to join them and set his attention on the task at hand, listening to what the old lady had to say So it's just a quiz, simple enough he thought to himself, although gave a second thought that it probably wasn't going to be as easy as they thought and had waited to see what the first question would be.

 

[Cartonale]

The woman looked at the two of them- knowing there was someone behind them- and stared at them.


"Here's the two question quiz. You can only save one person, do you choose 1. Your daughter, or 2. Your son? All the rules apply." She stated them, and pointed at the third party.


"And you must participate as well, or you automatically fail."

 

[Regna]

I was still in the shadows, they didn't bother to look back at me, although they knew I was here. I eyed the people in the gas masks, checking for any potential harm. 'Nope, we're good'. "I will count to five and you must have your answer set by then." She said. I walked out to the two older teenagers, sucking on my favorite green apple flavored lollipop. I walked towards them, my hands in my pockets and whispered in each of their ears, starting with the girl. "Stay silent, or you will fail."

Alastier looked stunned and quickly turned to see the same girl from before. She examined her, taking in her white hair, blue eyes, and her baggy outfit of whites and purples. She looked like she could pass the exam, or overachieve it,


Stay Silent? Well, okay... Alastier was slightly doubtful and hesitant. They just met, unlike her and Seito, they didn't build any sort of trust What if she was trying to fail them all. That wouldn't sound right though, all three of them would fail if one of them answered incorrectly, or didn't answer at all.


I'm overthinking this! Alastier cursed at herself and glared at her feet.

Seito didn't seem to say much at the time when asked the questions, he was compelled about the decision giving it the random guess that it would be some sort of trick question after all in this situation there should no right or wrong answer. Once the white haired girl had decided to join it was the first time Seito had actually payed any attention to her, giving her a glance and slight wave he remained silent not in the thought of it being the right answer but in the fact he wasn't sure what the answer should be.

Alastier looked toward Seito, a drop of sweat running down her jaw. They were out in the sun, and she could basically hear the heat baking the ground. She waited for him to look at her, and when he did, she gave him a look that asked whether or not they should trust their new buddy. The girl looked alright, but looks can be deceiving. She was a young girl, licking a green lollipop, but from what Alastier had learned a long time ago.


Never judge a book by it's cover.

Once seeing Alistier, it wasn't hard for Seito to tell she was feeling nervous; unsure on what she meant by the little girl Seito was compelled himself on what answer he should give once giving it much deep thought he came to the conclusion that the only 'right' answer would be to break the rules, it was then that the realization of the nature of the question was rather simple, these question the old lady asked must be a question that has no answer in fact, these questions are impossible to answer and will never suggest the truth and the fact that the nature of the question could be the difficult choices of life the only correct answer would be to remain silent.


After giving these thoughts Seito looked to Alistier and smiled, placing a single finger over his lips he gave off a cheeky wink when doing so as if trying to pull a sneaky one so that the other girl didn't notice, the old lady didn't seem to really matter; No rules stated you couldn't help anyone.

Alastier nodded to herself, Seito just confirmed that the answer was silence. It was logical now, you couldn't save just one of them, because none of the choices were correct. She felt confident now, and smirked a bit, the old woman then said to the three of them:


"You three passed, you may go on ahead."


The people in masks opened up a large tunnel, to what the woman said the three of them would arrive at the cabin in 2 hours, where the next exam would be. As the three of them plunged into the darkness, Alastier turned towards the little girl and asked her the basic questions.


"How old are you,and what's your name?"

Seito let out a small chuckle after the old lady passed them; That was pretty tough. Having to find out the answer yourself whilst trying to make sure the others don't say the wrong answer it was a bit of pressure, lucky Alistier wasn't reckless in these kind of situations they would have all been doomed he thought to himself. He was a little suspicious about the little girl she gave off a bad vibe and that's never good news, he wouldn't make a move yet though and allow the girl to tag along but Seito kept a close eye on her at all times.


Agreeing with Alistier he also added "Yes, and why were you trying to spy on us earlier?".

 

[Regna]

"Nobody said I was trying to spy on you," It was true, spying was an exaggerated term, because if she spied, they wouldn't have noticed. "I was simply following you." She walked like a boy, hands in pockets, taking long strides. Nowhere near being lady-like. "Aeone's the name, killing's the game. Age 12." They weren't getting this information for free(bag). "What about you two?" She said, sucking on the lollipop, and eventually crunching it, making loud popping noises.

 

[Cartonale]

Alastier looked at Aeone in surprise, she was only twelve, taking the hunters exam. Then again, Alastier was 14 and taking the exam for revenge, the equation was pretty much equal. She laughed at Aeone and patted her shoulder.


"You know, I like you! You're pretty cool and tough!" She exclaimed and looked towards Seito "Even though all three of us met now, we should stick together, don't you guys think? I've hung around Seito long enough to know that he- hopefully- doesn't wanna kill me," She explained and put on her thinking pose- holding her chin and propping to one leg.

 

[Regna]

Aeone blushed at the embarrassment of the girl's cheerfulness. "I still don't trust you, you know." She mumbled, turning away. She thought the boy- No. She knew the boy was suspicious. He was definitely hiding something, she knew she liked these people, but felt the urge to get away from them, yet wanted to protect them at the same time. 'I'll stay cautious for now, and if anything turns into definite trouble, she'll leave immediately. "Anyways," She stated, the embarrassment completely diminished from her voice. "We should get going and you can tell me stuff about you guys on the way there, if we aren't already there." The three walked off to their destination.

Seito sighed, the girl didn't seem too bad but he still couldn't shake off the vibe she gave off but agreed with Alistier "I guess we should, I'm Seito." he didn't want to say much, unlike Alistier this girl seemed off but then again I guess he shouldn't judge a book but it's cover although; There was something he felt he knew about her just couldn't place a finger on it.


As they walked off he kept pondering on what he was missing, deciding to give up mean while he looked to Alistier "What makes you think I'd want to kill you?" he said rubbing the back of his neck looking off in the opposite direction.

 

[Cartonale]

"Well, we only just met today..." Alastier said with a thinking face "and some people tend to gather people's trust, and shove it down the drain, so don't take it personally. I don't dislike you, it's just logical, you know?" She explained to Seito and snapped her fingers quickly.


"Did that old hag say it'll take two whole hours to get to the big tree! That's a lot of time!"

 

[Regna]

Her feet made small padding noises as Aeone walked with the company of Alastier and Seito. He really does seem strange, and why in the world is this girl so, uh... bright? Uh, I'm not sure that's the word, she is really unexplainable. "Okay Seito," She exaggerated. Wanting to test him, she also wanted to know the girl, Alastier's age, so she wouldn't seem as suspicious as she already was, "What are you and Alastier's age, relationship?"


She wanted him embarrassed and to actually check out the information he had to give. sent a murderous glare full of bloodlust in Seito's direction. He didn't see it, but she caught him giving a barely noticeable shiver and a blush, she wouldn't have seen it if it weren't for her sharp senses. She gave a small smirk of satisfaction, closing her eyes and enjoying the satisfaction of making someone shiver, although it wasn't the first time. 'Huh, he must not have a lot of experience with girls.'
