'Is it your first time walking?' Kept repeating in Alastier's mind as she twitched her eye. This is not the time to get worked up about that, she thought until a huge shadow loomed over her and the rest of the crew. When she looked up, she got splashed by the cold water which covered everyone. She could feel herself tumbling around the deck until the wave passed over. She harshly coughed a couple of times before getting herself up. She coughed once more and looked around to see everyone okay, or hopefully okay. She staggered back to where she saw Seito laying and knelt down.


"Hey Seito, you alright there?" She asked tapping his shoulder and wiping off cold sweat and sea water off her face, which didn't work well since it was pouring cats and dogs. She hastily put on her goggles and stared at the boy.

Seito seemed to be knocked unconcious for a while after being hit by the wave that toppled everyone on the ship, opening his eyes in a slow manner he looked to Alistier and shook his head slightly trying to lean up in a sitting position although only getting as far to poke his head to see his own body covered in some broken pieces of timber, it seemed the wave was a lot stronger than the way it was before, the storm was appearing to be growing quickly.


"I'm fine..Thanks.." he said rubbing his head and shaking it as he slowly got up stumbling a bit as the ship still rocked back and forth he looked around towards the others before looking back to Alistier and adding "Are you alright?" he asked her curiously, if he was right about her she should be terrified right about now, maybe she was just good at hiding it or perhaps he was wrong about her; It was still unclear to him but he dismissed the idea quickly being more focused on the situation at hand.

Alastier shook her head "Don't worry about me, i'm fine. Problem is, how are we going to get out of this storm? It feels as if it'll last forever!" she complained. Of course, Alastier knew they would get out, it was just a hunch, but something was bound to happen. Now that everyone was back on their feet, we'll all just have to work a bit harder, she thought in determination. She looked toward Seito and stood up.


"Come on Seito, we still have some work to do." She lent her hand ,for the second time that day, towards Seito with a smile.


(No problem! I think i'll call it a night or something, sorry if you wanted to keep going! I'll be back sometime though ^-^)

(That's fine I have friends over anyway so I have to be social, I'll make another post and leave it at that for a while until I get more time on my hands )


Seito looked around watching as the other sailors and even some other stronger individuals who weren't already taken by sea sickness and also decided to help it wasn't long until every available hand was on deck and working together to try survive the storm, Seito was often hopeful that things will turn out positive for him despite knowing he could die any second it was never a thought in his mind that seemed to get to him almost as if he didn't realize the dangers himself.


Grabbing Alistiers hand he got himself back up and nodded at her, his clothes and hat dripping wet he got back to helping Alistier getting the ship organized so they can finally reach their destination which Seito hoped was sooner rather than later.

Alastier panted, feeling the patter of the rain become slightly less harsh than it was ten minuets ago. She looked around, her hair sticking to her hair and onto her goggles. She looked around, everything was lightening up a little, but not much. She turned her head towards the sky.


Will it ever stop raining? Will we make it out and enter the Hunters Exam? All the thoughts kept swirling inside of her head, she held her head in a sort of discomfort and looked towards Seito.


"How are you holding up!?" She hollered through the rain and wind, helping crew members with whatever assistance they needed to get out of this storm.

Seito looked towards Alistier noticing her discomforted expression on her face 'She must be thinking the same thing I am..' he thought to himself looking towards the Sky as he gripped onto a rope and pulled it tying it to wherever it was meant to go he looked back and answered Alistier.


"I should be alright, but I hope we get out of this storm soon!" he said as water splashed in his face, his clothes by now would be soaking wet and his hat dropped onto the main deck as Seito ran to Alistier helping her and the other sailors.


'Why do I have the feeling this is never going to end? It just keeps coming..'

As Alastier helped the sailors, she couldn't help but notice a bit of light appearing in the dark, gloomy sky. She looked at it for a while before a splash of a wave disrupted her train of thought, and she continued to help. When will this end, she thought, the poor crew member too-


She stared at a man- captain maybe- who was over looking the whole front deck. She glared at him for a short second, then turned back to holding the sails. Who was he to just stand there? Shouldn't he be steering the ship or something? Now that she thought about it, who was steering the ship? Alastier shook her head, she shouldn't overthink these things, someone was probably steering the ship for the captain. It wasn't like this ship had auto-pilot or anything.


The sky started to turn a bit bluer, and the winds started to calm a bit. The ocean waves decided to stroll instead of run.


Is it finally ending!? Alastier thought in joy and excitement, her eyes -she could feel- were starting to glow in happiness.

Seito panted wiping off his face what would be a combination of sweat and sea water, looking to Alistier he gave her a casual thumbs up winking at her as he looked up to see that the sky was finally clearing and the ocean had calmed down. Thank god...I was beginning to think it WOULD last forever.. he thought with slight relief walking over to Alistier "What you looking at?" he asked her turning his direction towards the Captain.

When Alastier saw Seito give her a thumbs up, and a cheeky wink, she laughed until he came over.


"What you looking at?" he asked at Alastier narrowed her eyes at the captain.


"That man, he's the captain, right? Even if he wasn't, all he was doing was chilling here while all of us did all the work!" She exclaimed and spread her arms wide. She didn't like the guy, he seemed lazy, but she couldn't judge until she met him personally, which she wasn't looking forward too at all. It was coming sooner or later.


"Aren't you suspicious of him too?" she asked him dubiously.

Seito rubbed his head picking up his sloppy wet hat from the deck placing it swiftly on his head as he took another observing look at the captain Now she mentioned it, the Captain did just stand there and did nothing..That's more than laziness something is fishy here he thought to himself before looking back at Alistier "I don't know, but we will find out sooner or later." he said shrugging.

She looked at Seito with a brow up "How do you know? For all we know, he could be some old grandpa that got on the wrong ship..." she trailed off and looked at the old guy again. He was wearing a captain suit, was there any need for more convincing around here?


"Why don't you go talk to him?" She asked and pushed a soaking Seito towards the geezer "Have a one-on-one bro talk!?"

Seito blinked and put on an expression of curiosity, he looked back and grabbed onto her hand, his eyes widened slightly when grabbing a hold of her hand, it was an unknown feeling to him still and it caught him off by surprise I could get use to that.. He thought to himself, looking up at Alistier with a stubborn look over his face "If I'm going, you are too." he said walking towards the captain pulling Alistier along with him.

Alastier groaned and tried to go the other direction limply, which obviously didn't work. Seito kept dragging her until the reached a fair distance away from the captain. The captain was a burly man in a blue uniform, and a big red nose. He had a gruff voice, pretty normal for your average captain.


"How about you ask the questions, i'm only coming because you made me~" Alastier said, and hid behind Seito- or tried to anyways.

Seito stood straight, although he appeared to be nervous when speaking he was rather straight forward "I'm guessing you're the captain. I'd like to ask why you stood here the whole time during that storm and did nothing as everyone else worked to get 'your' ship out of that storm." he tried making the captain feel bad before going ahead and insulting the man "As a captain you should be more responsible." Seito placed his index finger in the captains tummy as if pointing to him as Seito looked up at the man who towered over him.

Alastier silently snorted at Seito's antics and laughed a bit. She learned that he was a guilt-tripper and pretty straight forwards with his talking skills. There was no beating around the bush with him, just straight on the bulls eye. She still happened to remember earlier today, when he didn't accept her handshake.


It was odd She thought to herself, and focused her attention at the scene in front of her.


The old captain eyed Seito, and with his old, hoarse voice, asked "What's it to you, boy?".

Seito glared at the Captain, still maintaining a serious expression on his face taking out a piece of paper he took a quick glance at it before placing it back into his pocket and sighing to himself "Now who said it was you asking the questions captain? I believe in fair trade, you answer my question and I'll answer yours." he didn't seem to show much fear of the man despite the way he chose to tower over him, Seito remained to keep serious expression to make sure it was clear that Seito wasn't messing around; This is usually a problem for him due to his small size.

Alastier stared curiously at the man as he gestured them over inside the deck.


"You two follow me," he said and walked inside, probably towards his cabin or the steering room.room. Seito walked first as she trailed after, was she right about this being a test? They kept walking until he made them both line up, fairly close to the wall. Alastier put her hands behind her back and suspiciously looked at the captain.


"Give me a reason why you two want to be hunters," He demanded, not a drop of a questioning tone in his voice. Alastier answered first, not telling much.


"I want to be a hunter to avenge my family," she stated simply, and looked over to Seito, awaiting his answer.

When the captain had led Seito and Alistier to the cabin before they entered Seito looked back and gave her another thumbs up with the same wink as before, he felt that Alistier might have been a little unnerved going inside the cabin where no one can see with some big old captain, I mean what kid would feel safe..Seito turned his attention back in front of him as he walked inside expecting Alistier to follow behind him.


After the Captains question Seito was left pondering about it It's clear this guy has something to do with the Hunters exam, but what's so important about why we want to be hunters? The thought baring in his mind it wasn't until Alistier answered the captains question that Seito snapped back into reality answering not long after "Knowledge." Seito answered casually also hiding the real story behind his intentions and adding afterwards "Why is that important Captain?"

The captain pointed a thumb to himself and gave a chortle .


"I'm one of the examiners, that's why. Me and some others are here to cut some people who aren't qualified out of this exam," Alastier questioned the man.


"What's going to happen to them then?" She asked him. The captain shook his head.


"We're going to ship them back where they came from, but for now, you two are the only ones who are qualified for taking the exam."


Alastier gave herself a short pat on the back, she knew something was odd about this ship, and had a good hunch about this being a test. She started to give a goofy grin and fist pumped the air.


"Test one is d-o-n-e~!" she sang proudly and quickly turned to Seito "Aren't you happy Seito, we're taking steps towards our goal!"

Seito looked to Alistier seeing her being so cheerful, he had the thought this was a test afterall his father Shen had always told him the Hunters Exam was tricky for first timers and that even when you don't know it you're being tested; Most would feel like this is a lot of pressure but Seito just seen it as an extra long test and didn't worry much of the pressure that was on him.


Despite not being that 'proud' or excited in any way for the sake of Alistier he decided to smile and nod answering her "I'm pumped, can't wait till the next test that comes our way." he said in an innocent manner, closing his eyes gently smiling long and wide at Alistier the smile could have come off some what cheesy. Seito looked back to the Captain and questioned him again "So that whole time you were standing there to see how we went huh? Smart but a better disguise would have been acting as one of the Sailors; I could smell the suss on you." he said poking the captains bloated stomach again.

The captain threw an annoyed look at Seito.


"Yeah, well, you better stop being a know-it-all or i'm not sailing you to the closest docks near the exam," He spoke in a gruff tone and turned away "Alright you two, you can head on up now, as I said before, i'll ship you two to the closest docks near the exam."


Alastier smiled and poked Seito before running out and into the hallway where they could go outside.


"Come on, your so slow!" she hollered to him and made her way on deck.

Seito smiled at the Captain and giggled "Your just upset a kid thought of that and you didn't~" he said in a cheery tone looking back at Alistier as she made her way to the deck Why is she rushing for? he pondered following behind although keeping a walking pace "Yeah, yeah." he said brushing his hand towards her in a way of saying 'Whatever I'm not doing that' and caught up to her soon after as she stopped "So what now?" he asked Alistier with a curious expression on his face.

Alastier sat on the edge of the ramp from the boat, sightseeing the ocean blue. Seagulls started to squawk and fly around, and the breeze smelled salty. Alastier grinned, seeing Seito come out of the ship's entry way.


"So, what now?" he asked her as she turned to him.


"It's obvious, we wait until we get to the docks so we can continue" she said and put her cheek in her hand "This is gonna be boring though, we're just gonna sit around with sick people on board... I hope we get there soon, so much has happened in so little time!"

Seito walked and placed himself next to Alistier leaning on the edge of the ramp as support as he also looked out the ocean noticing the sea gulls Seito answered Alistier


"Well seagulls are a good sign, that means we should be getting close to land." Seito said casually smiling at Alistier he had also thought of her answer to the Captain earlier Vengeance huh..It would explain why she wants to become a hunter but what's revenge going to do? It's pointless.. he thought to himself not understanding what it felt like to want to have 'revenge' on someone, throughout his life Seito never really had anything 'that bad' happen to him and often lived his life learning to respect others even if he doesn't like them.


Seito turned to Alistier and added "Back there you said you wanted revenge, why?" he asked her, an expression of curiosity appeared on his face

Alastier felt uncomfortable with the question, and looked down. She didn't know whether or not to tell him. Sure, they were friends, but they only met today! She didn't have anything against him though, it's just logical.


Should I tell him...?





"I don't feel like saying so,yet, but i will tell you sooner or later!" She forced a laugh out. She looked up at the seagulls for a way to change the subject "So, you said land should be near, right? Is it that dark sliver there?" she asked and pointed to- what she thought was land- a dark figure out in the distance. She started to grow excited as they drew nearer to the figure. She would take one step closer to becoming a hunter.
