Victoria frowns as the other girl retreats to a corner, had she really been treated that badly "Probably" she mumbles going back to moving things, once she has two areas she looks at her hands, kinda wishing she had gloves with her instead of being stuck with nothing, she usually carried some in her bag, but didn't think she's needed them "Well sleeping areas are done, I guess" she says, grabbing some snow from near the door to soothe the pain, if the others didn't return they'd have to look for them. Of course, the gods hate them and it starts snowing lightly "Serenity, this will be a heavy storm, but I don't think it will last long" she says "They should be heading back here shouldn't they?". With this weather the houses were out of the questions and unless they befriended a dragon or find a cave surviving will be difficult, she shakes her head when she starts thinking of possible scenarios, she needed to stay positive about it or they wouldn't get very far "Guys get that corner since we outnumber them" she says pointing to a smaller corner "And that one is for us" she adds mentioning to the one opposite of the other one "Everyone agreed on that? If not, it's not up for debate".

Yuki slipped off the board he was taking a nap on and landed right in serenity's arms he then got down "he guys were is Rose and Ragnar" he asked "also i'm hungry and luckily I can cook really well" he couldn't cook as well as Rose but he could cook at a good taste, he practices a lot, he looks outside and see's something with a long black body crawl past the door, it looked injured, and Yuki being the childish boy he was, without thinking he ran towards it but when he opened the door he saw something he never thought he'd see, it was a night fury black as night the only real thing you could see were it's eyes unless you were like Yuki where you stayed up all night looking in the dark, he slowly backed up into the building they were in when the Night Fury looked at him and he was a lot like a fish without a fin he had a piece of his tail missing and everything but the on difference was that his wings were a little strange they looked like they were in a battle of some sort, "serenity you wouldn't happen to have Blue Prints to a dragon tail would you" he said showing no fear toward the dragon, unexpectedly the dragon turned to Yuki and walked away, Yuki with a frown went back inside the building closed the door.

Ragnar was at attention quickly, when the dragon appeared his hand instinctively went to his weapon, he didn't make any threatening movements with it but he wanted to be prepared if this thing decided to attack them. Then he heard Rose say about that dragon she was talking about earlier. Ragnar gained a very confused expression, oh okay then. "If you're completely sure" Ragnar said, taking a step back so as not to get in the way. He figured that he should probably just let Rose catch up and hopefully the beast would remember her as well as she seemed to remember it and not kill them. The feeling of being watched had yet to leave Ragnar's back though. He turned and scanned the treeline. A pair of golden yellow eyes peered into the clearing, narrowing at the appearance of another dragon. The trees seemed to rustle as a lithe bipedal figure stalked to the right watching them but not making any movement to approach.

Rose slowly walks towards the Night Fury, trying to remember what she called it and she puts her knife in her bag "I'm unarmed" she says holding out her hand so the dragon can sniff it "Now I remember, I named you Midnight" she says and the dragon perks up hearing the name, but the sound of the leaves rustling makes the dragon growl. "Okay maybe we should head back to the others before the weather gets worse?" she asks petting the dragon carefully and the wind picks up and she gets picked up suddenly by the Night Fury "Ragnar!" she yells when Midnight flies off to who knows where, disappearing from sight. Rose gets dropped in the cove and she groans in pain as she lands on her arm "Great thanks a lot" she says getting up and her path back gets blocked "I have to get back" she says, but eventually gives up "I hope they're not too worried" she mumbles sitting near the small lake.

Gabriella just sat in the corner, quietly reciting the history of Viking heritage that she had read about. She knew there were bits and pieces weren't there or incorrect, but the victors wrote history. So she had to take everything she read with a grain of salt, but it was still the things she knew best so she kept repeating memorized words as if speaking a mantra to keep herself calm. The people she had came with were weird, different, and strange. They didn't act like the other Vikings she had been around and she was thrown off by it. There was Alva who was quieter than she was, being super gentle. Victoria who was outgoing but wasn't obvious in that fact, and was super...nice? Was that the word? Rose was also kind of supportive, but that could just be because she was to be the next Chief, so she had to be civil with everyone. Serenity, who actually seemed like she was the next Chief, but really it was only because she was the eldest of Hiccup and Astrid's children; even if she was taken in by the couple. Ragnar was definitely outgoing: so much so that it was terrifying, but didn't seem all that bad all around. That didn't mean the timid girl wanted to constantly be around the boy, though. And then there was Yuki, who was the most like those normally around her; excluding the childishness. He instantly thought he was the boss, even though it was already determined to be someone else, and then he turned into a child later on. Gabriella wasn't sure she could accurately read him, but that didn't mean she had to like him. She saw him as most likely to be the forcibly pushy, even though some would consider naïve, bully. Gabriella shook her head at her thoughts, her whispered mumbling halting as she forced herself to stop overanalyzing as she tended to do when pushed into a corner.
She instead turned her attention back to Victoria who had finished setting up the sleeping areas for each of the genders. She didn't really care either way, so she just gave a shrug about it. She didn't see Alva objecting unless he had a certain side he had to lay towards and Serenity probably didn't care much either. Her eyes slowly traveled to the child-like boy with worried suspicion as she thought he would throw a fuss about anything and everything. He was too carefree for the situation they were in, and that made him even more untrustworthy. But, even as she warily watched him, she curled further into a ball to avoid being seen as much as possible. She had had enough interaction for the time being. She was happy just watching the others react and deal with the too-loose cannon that was Yuki. It was just a matter of time, in Gabriella's opinion at least.

Ragnar's eyes were glued to the moving in the trees when he suddenly jumped as the nightfury growled and grabbed his companion before dragging her off to who knows where. "HEY! WHERE DO YOU"! Ragnar began to yell after the beast when there was suddenly a shrill roar from the trees and he felt a huge weight slam into his back, sending the viking sprawling across the field. Ragnar got to his feet and unsheathed his axe, facing the beast that had been watching and stalking them. The dragon stood on two legs and had a trio of short horns along its head. Its arms looked like lobster claws and it had what looked like three tails lashing behind it. Each one of those tails was tipped with a wickedly curved stinger. The dragon's hide was silver and it shined like metal. Ragnar couldn't put a name to what sort of dragon it was and it didn't seem to be making a move. Without the advantage of surprise it didn't seem willing to attack. "It is not nice to attack people" Ragnar told the animal though he didn't know why. The dragon growled and prowled to and fro staring daggers at Ragnar. Ragnar wanted to go try and find Rose, he couldn't go back alone, what would everyone else say? But he couldn't turn around and look in the direction the night fury had flied off in with this thing here. It'd probably charge at him again if he turned his back on it. Ragnar sighed, and sat down. Maybe the dragon thought he was on its territory or something and if he showed himself as no threat it'd get on its way, though he didn't have much faith in his plan. Ragnar wasn't sure he had it in him to attack and kill the thing just to get it to leave him alone. The dragon took a step towards Ragnar. "No" Ragnar said loudly. The dragon stopped and made a hissing noise. He looked up at the dragon which was watching him intently though not aggressively anymore. "I think we got off on the wrong foot, though that was your fault. Do you want to try again"? Ragnar said to the dragon which made a chittering sound which was the least aggressive thing he'd seen it do. It sunk onto its belly as if trying to imitate what Ragnar was doing by sitting down. It slithered forward until it was within arms reach of Ragnar. The viking looked into the dragon's eyes and he gained a theory of understanding towards this dragon. "Are you... Lonely"? Ragnar guessed cocking his head towards the dragon. The dragon looked down as if it'd understood the word and it huffed. "Would you like to be friends? I'm willing to forgive you for the headbutt, as long as you don't make it a habit" Ragnar told the dragon. The reptile seemed to consider his words before it gave a loud huff and backed up a bit. Okay then, at least it wasn't growling and roaring anymore.

The storm slowly moves closer to the small ruined village, the wind starts blowing harder and the snow starts falling so hard you can't see anything two feet in front of you, the dragons take shelter, even the wild animals start taking shelter from the weather as the wind blows against the doors of the great hall, some snow getting in through the opening of the door as they can't close as they can lock themselves in and the others out.

Rose shivers and she moves closer to Midnight, who doesn't seem to be bothered by it "Stupid dragon being immune to this cold" she mumbles earning a slight growl as the Night Fury raises her wing to cover the young viking and she makes a small fire in front of them "Thanks" Rose mumbles, at least she would be warm now, she wondered how long the storm would last though "My arm still hurts though" she mumbles laying against the dragon which had kidnapped her for whatever reason. "Why did you take me from there?" she asks earning a confused look "I'll guess, you didn't like Ragnar?" she asks, but she gets hit with the tail "Okay... you didn't want me to stay in this weather, I'm still in it though..." she trails off and Midnight growls hearing another dragon "You wanted to protect me" Rose says, it's not a question this time and she earns a purr "Thank you" she says and she slowly falls asleep from the warmth her new friend is giving off.

Victoria moves away from the door and she says "Well we're not going out anytime soon" she says "And the others won't be able to see in this weather either" she mumbles sitting down against a wall and she takes out a book, which she opens at the page she stopped at on the boat "So what now?" she asks, they couldn't do much with this storm and there was no way they could go out to search for the others either, so she hoped they stayed together at least, since both were very eager to explore "They're probably still alive" she mumbles before stretching and she sighs, at least she'd be able to finish her book on dragons species now.

Of course Alva helped where he could and softly smiled as he did. He was always good at being quiet when around people. After all, if he ever opened his mouth, it was usually an apology or a very weak defense for himself. With the snow starting to fall and coming down quite heavily, it became quite a concern for all within the hall. Especially for Serenity and Yuki most likely. Of course, he could tend the fire and cook for the group, that was easy enough but the worry about the two remaining Viking teens outside was going to get to everyone pretty quickly with this weather.

The younger boy landed safely in Serenity's arms when he jumped from the high situation. She hugged him a little in relief that he was okay before setting him down and letting the youngest of the Haddock family run off to do whatever it was that he wanted if it wasn't too much of a problem. Afterward, she helped to make sure everyone had a place to sleep but Serenity's place would be exactly where she was last night, behind the chair of the chief. She would not take the position of chief, even if it were available to her. She felt she knew her place and was happy to look forward to it. She would dedicate her life, that was saved by the Haddocks, to their service and the service of the village however she could.

When the snow starts to fall it sets off alarms in Serenity'sc head. She doesn't like that Rose was out there still and it was starting to get really late. She went over to the door and looked out. Already the snow was starting to stick and the wind picking up. "Not good," she said to herself then nervously started to gnaw her thumbnail, "Where are they? They need to come back now... Rose... please be okay..." after a little while longer she couldn't stay still anymore. She grabbed her cloak lined with fur and ensured she had her warmest clothes and furs on before heading to the door once more.

"I'm going out to find them. I'll be back soon." she said and sheathing a sword to her hip and grabbing a lantern she managed to fashion out of some remains, "Yuki, Gabriella, Victoria, and Alva. All of you stay here and wait and see if they manage to return on their own. Yuki, don't argue too much and try to make sure everyone stays safe, okay? Gabriella, you'll let me know if anything happened while I was gone upon my return, right? Vicky, do me a favor and help Alva with supper? And make sure that fire doesn't go out. It's going to get REALLY cold tonight by the look of it."

The dedicated Viking girl then went through the opening and into the violent snowstorm, unknowing that she was soon to be leaving the others in a desperate situation and run across her fate's path. The wind was so cold it stung her face and the snow blurred her vision but the lantern would not be hindered as the glass and iron casing had been prepared and sealed properly so that the flame would not go out in this wind but not die from lack of air. She hugged her cloak close to her heavily-dressed body to keep as much warmth as she could in this disastrous, chilling weather while looking for her little sister and Ragnar.

Gabriella stayed in her little corner, debating on what Victoria actually meant by her words. Sure, almost everyone acted differently than what she was used to, but that could just be an act since they were all they had at the moment. Their attitudes could very well change the moment they headed back, so she shouldn't take too much stock in their actions right now. Especially since it seemed they were in a do or die situation and it would look bad if one of them died. Yeah, that had to be it. There was no way they would actually, genuinely be nice to her because that's just how they were. Even Alva, who seemed the quietest alongside herself was avoiding her, so there couldn't be any other answer! With that figured out, Gabriella let out a soft breath of relief, her eyes refocusing on the small area that the group had decided would be their home until this whole ordeal was over. And that relief quickly sank when she heard what Serenity say. Why was she in charge of reporting anything occurring? Why not Victoria, whom was a better communicator? Why couldn't she help with supper so there wouldn't be any awkward silence among the two parties? And why, in all the Gods' names, was she going outside? That didn't seem smart, considering the weather outside was turning very bad, very quickly. But she, of course, didn't voice out against it, as she just wasn't looking to go out to follow the girl to try and stop her. Heck, she wouldn't have been able to voice her opinions on the matter even if she had! But she did have to wonder what the eldest Haddock was thinking, going out in this weather. Even if it was looking like the other two weren't coming back, they would have taken shelter by now, right? They wouldn't be that stupid to keep exploring or try to find their way back.....right?

Victoria closes her book and wants to put it in her bag again, but she pauses, deciding not to do it, if talking didn't gain someone's trust actions always worked, so she walks over to Gabriella and puts her book near her "In case you get bored" she says with a small kind, but also slightly sad smile before walking to Alva to help out. To be completely honest, she would rarher have to protect everyone with her hatched than let Yuki do it, he didn't take it too seriously, as least she knew how to use her tool and hence could make it a weapon against other viking and maybe small dragons "We could make another-", not even is Serenity long enough gone for them to get started on dinner or the door is blasted open by a dragon, of course, the wind blowing hard enough to nearly throw them all off balance. She narrows her eyes and she grabs Yuki and Alva, pushing the two outside, where, unless there's a bloody Snow Wraith, they'd be the safest in one of the other houses, next she pulls Gabriella up while putting her book back in her bag at the same time "Stay with the other two" she says pushing her the same way as the others after reaching the door "Find shelter in one of the houses if needed" she says taking her hatched from where she left it to face the beast, which seemed to be angry and she dodge a plasma blast before she has to take cover behind her setup from a magnesium fireball "Shit Dramillion" she mumbles "Shot limit of fourthy, at least the others are safe, as safe as they can be outside anyway "Thirty eight" she whispers and with each shot she counts down. The dragon roars loudly, making the more scholary viking stop moving, according to her father Dramillions were smart, she can't outsmart one, all she can do is hide until it either goes to sleep or leave, but neither seemed very likely at this point.

The cold starts setting in quickly with the doors wide open, granted she counted on cold weather, but not this bad "I hope the others aren't going to be stupid enough to come back here" she mumbles pulling her knees to her chest and using the reflection in her axe to keep and eye on the dragon, if the dragon doesn't kill her the cold certainly will, at least with the dragon it'd most likely be painless.

Gabriella was in the midst of freaking out over the stupidity of whom she thought was one of the smartest people here when she was pulled up and pushed out into the cold when a dragon burst into the temporary shelter that was the Great Hall. One quick look back in that direction showed what she thought could be a Dramillion and she just couldn't understand what Victoria was thinking either. But she definitely wouldn't argue it if it meant getting away from a very dangerous, possibly hungry dragon. If Victoria wanted to be an idiot and face it alone, she was more than welcome to. Besides, Gabriella was now outside in one of the worst winter storms she had ever seen; or felt, for that matter. She pulled the sleeves of her outfit down as far as they would go, not caring if it stretched the material or not at this point. She was really only wishing she had worn something more cold resistant on her legs. Her eyes narrowed as she tried to make out the other two that she had assumed the second idiotic girl threw out into the cold for their protection, but she would admit that her eyesight wasn't the best among the Vikings currently on this death trap of an island, and the raging snow storm didn't help in that fact either. So, as she didn't want to catch cold looking for two people who, realistically, didn't care about her, Gabriella began heading toward the abandoned village huts. If she could find one that was reasonably in tact, and wasn't hosting wild dragons, that would suffice until the storm settled. She could then go looking for a more permanent shelter that wouldn't get kicked in by the first giant, ferocious dragon that caught their scent. But, of course, given her inability to see really anything, she headed past the huts and into the forest, wandering further from her target and closer to what she considered would be impending doom if she could only get her bearings.

"I should get going, I've got people I need to regroup with. Follow if you want" Ragnar said getting up. The dragon got to its feet and immediately ran forward and bumped its head against Ragnar's chest. This time it obviously wasn't attacking, but apparently being spiteful because that was the specific thing Ragnar had asked it not to do. Ragnar pushed its head away, he turned around and for the first time realized just how bad the storm was. Could he even find his way back to the main hall. He began to shiver in the cold and he could feel his teeth beginning to chatter. The dragon stood still swinging its tail from side to side as it watched the human curiously. It took a few steps forward and pushed its head against Ragnar's side as if trying to get his attention. Why the dragon had decided to be friendly so quickly wasn't entirely clear but it might have something to do with worry or pity. It looked down and let out a little blast of fire. Which went onto the ground and began to light, creating a burning campfire. Ragnar looked at it confused before he took a seat, he'd have to hope that dragon that took Rose kept her alive instead of eating her and wait out the storm. The dragon laid down behind the young viking as if trying to give some protection from the wind.

Victoria takes a deep breath, was this the Dramillions sleeping place before they interrupted or did it enter for a reason, the dragon was smart, in the reflection she sees it trying to lie down, only to get up again and roar in... pain? She slowly gets up and peeks over the stacked benches and she ducks when it looks her way, slowly making her way to the dragon and she hides behind the fire pit and she sees the cause of the dragons anger, a dragon tooth is lodged into it's stomach, but the issue is getting close to it, it doesn't seem to be in that deep, well not now anyway. She stops hesitating and she runs over, dodging the tail and she grabs the tooth, but she gets knocked to the side with a claw, hitting the wall and she groans "That hurt you know!" she yells sitting up "That's how you thank someone?" she asks seeing the tooth laying away from her, at least it's out of the dragon's stomach, she groans feeling her back hurt like crazy and she gets up, stumbling slightly and she walks over "Let me see that" she says and the dragons looks at her curiously "Nothing too bad" she mumbles "At least you can sleep now", she couldn't exactly see her back, but she's not sure she wants to, she couldn't treat it either "I'm a viking for Thors sake", she looks at the dragon and sighs as she sits a bit away from it, closing her eyes for a few seconds, until she feels something hot at her back and she jumps up "That freaking hurts" she mumbles, at least it was closed now, she pulls a dusty blanket along and sits back down at her previous hiding spot and she slowly dozes off, whether that's from exhaustion of the warmth of the now relit fires she's not sure, at least the dragon wouldn't kill her since it's going back to sleep as well, maybe she should try to clean up the blood a bit when she wakes up, she hoped the others were alright though.

Gabriella continued walked, her eyes squinted as she slowly made her way to where she thought the huts were. She would take shelter from the storm and then go check to see if Victoria was still alive when it cleared. If not, she’d feel bad, of course, but it would be her own fault for trying to be the hero. But, she was smart, so maybe that Dramillion would would become her dragon? Gabriella figured that would be it since Victoria was a lot smarter than the rest of their mix matched group.
The timid girl cracked a small smile as she thought about likely fates of the others as she walked. It kept her mind off the impending cold, at least. Alva might get by; he seemed smart enough. Yuki....she didn’t have high hopes for if his attitude towards actual survival was anything like how he was acting before. Serenity was already dependable just making their small group work together, so she would be fine. And as for the two explorers, they would be fine. One was the Chief’s daughter and the other carried around a battle axe and had already befriended the Terrible Terror that was still in the Great Hall....or she thought was in the Great Hall...Now that she thought about it, she hadn’t seen the little thing in a while. She hoped it was okay. It was the cutest one out of their group and she hoped they didn’t lose it.
As she trudged deeper and deeper in the forest, Gabriella began growing suspicious. She should have reached the abandoned village by now, right? She stopped in her tracks and she looked around, even if she couldn’t see much. But now that she was focusing all her energy on looking at her surroundings through the snow, she noticed the dim, very blurred outlines of the trees. And with this realization, Gabriella’s widened in the immense panic that was quickly raising and pushing her heart into her stomach. She felt like she was going to be sick. Why hadn’t she noticed sooner? And now she was lost, unsure which direction was which. She couldn’t believe she had been so stupid! She pulled her jacket closer as she turned around in circles to try and find her way, but it was pointless. She wasn’t finding her way back, and she was going to die out here.
But what if she found a cave? There might be something in them to start a fire with. And so, with that small glimpse of hope, she began walking again in a random direction. And as she walked, her limbs began feeling numb. Stiff. And she was feeling more hot than cold. That wasn’t a good thing, but what else could she do? She just...kept walking...It was the only thing she could do. And as she walked, she saw something...glittering? It was so pretty! She made her way to it, her mind only focusing on that. And then...she regretted it. The really pretty glittering? Yeah...it was a Flightmare! Why it was here, she wasn’t sure. They normally didn’t stray from their food source, right? And if they did have to drift, they would have done it as a pack...or did they travel as packs? She had never gotten the chance to read the Book of Dragons, so she wasn’t entirely sure. But it still seemed odd. And, since she was sure she was going to die anyways, she would try to get closer.
As she made her way closer, she could hear each and every of her footfalls; her increasingly uneven breaths.
When she got close enough, she froze. It was looking right at her, but it wasn’t doing anything? What was wrong with it? Again, she didn’t know much about the dragon as a species, but she did know that they usually let out a paralyzing mist that would literally freeze their targets with fear. But this one wasn’t doing that. And she couldn’t help but wonder why. She took a couple steps closer, freezing again when it roared in what sounded like anger and...and something like fear. What was it scared of? She kneeled down to look the creature in the eyes, and couldn’t help but wonder what it was thinking. But then she came to regret that decision as she found she could no longer stand back up. Looks like it was a mistake to give her legs rest where they could lock in the numbness and stop herself from moving. Gabriella couldn’t help but laugh, falling back onto the hands that she could no longer feel. She looked at the dragon with a tired, but amused look. “I never thought I’d be dying with a dragon by my side. Much less a Flightmare.” She laughed again, her eyes shutting in the process. “And I thought you would be the scariest thing I’d ever meet out here, but you’re scared too, huh? Were you separated from your pack? But I’m sure you’ll find them.” She smiled in the dragon’s direction, reaching out to run her hand across its scales as if assuring the beast. As she did so, she found she no longer finding the strength to keep herself up. She let herself fall to the ground, smiling at the hopeless situation she had found herself in. And, as she faded, she heard something shifting and then it felt like she was floating.
When she woke up, though it hadn’t been too long since the storm was still raging, she found herself in a cave. She was confused at how she got there, but then she realized she was leaning against something warm. She looked over at it and saw the beautiful glowing blue that she had been drawn to in the forest. The Flightmare was laying beside her, also sound asleep with its wing wrapped over her like a blanket. She stared longer than she probably should have, but she ended up just settling back in and closing her eyes. She guessed not all dragons on this island were ferocious and out for blood. And she had made a new friend! She didn’t understand how, but she wasn’t going to question it at the moment. She was safe...and she was tired.

Around five hours later the storm finally passed and it's getting dark.
Rosa wakes up thanks to the feeling of something nudging her, but all she sees is a black wing "The others!" she says and she sighs, she's pretty sure they're fine though "Right dislocated shoulder" she mumbles as she blocks her eyes from the light of the fire "Thanks girl, now, I'm quite hungry" she says petting the dragon "But we should find the others, I hope they're still at the great hall", when she finishes dusting off the snow she sighs "I don't think dad knew though" she mumbles to herself before putting her shoulder back in place and she starts walking only for Midnight to stop her, again "My sister is out there, my annoying little brother too, just let me see if Ragnar's alive at least". Midnight mentions to her back making the young viking laugh "Oh no, not happening, I'll be fine climbing... Know what, lets try this flying thing" she says getting on her friends back, the dragon flying up to go through the forest, back to where Ragnar is, hopefully still in one piece, she yelps in surprise when Midnight flies up above the trees and high in the sky. After a short while Rose slowly sits up and she looks around "Amazing, this must be how dad felt" she says "Although it's pretty scary" she says, she pets Midnight who seems to be gliding along the clouds "Alright, can you take me back to Ragnar now?" she asks, so Midnight shoots down and soon they arrive, but Rose doesn't see him, than again, there's a huge layer of snow in the entire area "Ragnar!" she yells and Midnight looks around.

Victoria wakes up and she gets up before stretching as best as possible and she picks up the tooth she had dislodged from the dragon's stomach, but freezes when it's standing right in front of her "I'm just going to clean up" she says, only to realize the dragons looking at her hatched "That's for the firewood" she explains as she chops an unusable bench into pieces, trying not to feel the pain too much. Once she's done she takes string from her bag and some other tools "You can camouflage, so giving that to you isn't the best idea" she says, she might not be a blacksmith like two of the others, but she could improvise, when she's finishes she holds up the object, yep, she'd have to ask the chief for advise later, so for now she'll put it in her bag along with the things she didn't use and of course the tools. "You know" she says sitting next to the dragon "I don't know how the chief is expecting us to fly back home when we can't make saddles or know how to fly at all, I'm not even sure you guys will let us fly on your backs anyway" she says, great, she's talking to a dragon that can't talk back, but with the others gone is pretty lonely "My back is fine, thanks for asking though" she mumbles feeling the dragon nudge her back lightly, it wasn't fine, but her trademark cloak covered it, since she didn't want to worry the others when they got back she doesn't know how cold, after a moment she sighs "Must be nice, flying a dragon" she says looking outside to see a few dragons fly around, completely forgetting about the fact she wanted to clean the blood from the floor in favor of talking to the dragon "I know the perfect name for you" she says earning a confused look "Spike. It suits you" she adds and the Dramillion lays his head next to her as she talks about her parents and her village "You'd like Rose" she says "She's always eager to learn new things, Yuki might be too hyperactive for you... Gabriella's nice, she's just... treated to so badly that she doesn't even believe I want to be her friend, I don't know how to change that" she says with a sigh "We both have common interests and prefer reading over fighting, both don't have much friends, if any at all... I mean, you're my friend, but I'm talking about human friends".

The quiet young man seemed a bit relieved that he was only asked to make supper while the foolish temporary leader left them to their own devices while she went to look for the two that were undoubtedly lost in the storm by now. It wasn't too long after Serenity left them that the Dramillion burst into the hall and made them all run to escape. Of course, Alva didn't want to leave anyone behind but he admitted to himself that he was a coward and ran to save his own life. If Victoria got hurt because of this he would blame himself for the rest of his miserable life but what good was it to stay and possibly get eaten or killed. While normally people would see those as the same thing, to Alva being eaten didn't necessarily mean you were dead. One could be eaten but still remain alive somehow.

Now out in the snow, Alva shivered and trudged through the heavy snow and whipping wind. He needed to find a place to get out of the storm and warm-up or he would die from the cold. He found a small undergrowth that had an entrance just big enough for him to squeeze into. A few trees had seemed to have fallen and piled perfectly so that the branches and trunks blocked the wind from the inner branches and left an area untouched by the snow so inside was quite warm. He crawled in and curled himself up on some strange, blue, and purple colored rock bedding that seemed to radiate warmth. He was tired and cold so without too much thought, the boy curled up and closed his eyes. His mind quickly slipped from reality and left him dreaming and defenseless.

While Alva had slept he didn't think to notice that the rocks were so tightly packed, nor that they slowly moved up and down even as he lay on them. He did not feel the hard shifting under him nor the long spiny tail moved to wrap around his defenseless body and keep him warmly embraced through the cold snowstorm.

Hours later he finally woke up to find himself wrapped in the warm coiled tail of a monstrous nightmare that was a dark turquoise in color. When his blue eyes opened the first thing they were met with were the golden eyes of the dragon that had him wrapped comfortably in its clutches. Instead of feeling afraid or even startled, Alva felt quite calm and comfortable. He smiled at the dragon who lowered its head to rest on his lap and closed its eyes to restore. He didn't even have to do the hand gesture that normally initiated a bond between a dragon and their rider. They seemed to have skipped that part and became a pair the moment he crawled into the nightmare's resting place. "I guess we're a pair now, huh?" he asked and the dragon gave an almost melodic coo from deep in its throat and they continued to nap comfortably.
1589347136548.png
Of course the young Viking knew that it wasn't the smartest move to make going out alone and during the storm but, Serenity was just too worried to sit still. Had she stayed though, she would have run into the Dramilion and been able to witness Victoria's amazing display of intelligence understanding for the pained dragon and how she was able to get the others out of a potentially dangerous situation. She would have also seen just how quickly the girl would bond with the dangerous dragon.

The wind whipped and the snowfall was blinding. There were no tracks left to fallow because of the snow covering everything it could touch. Even through the cloak, Serenity's body was chilled and shivered. She had to keep going though. She couldn't g up. She had to find her little sister and Ragnar. She didn't want anything bad to happen to either of them. She was the eldest Haddock child and had to be responsible for them. Protect them. She was determined to do that too. Even as the crunch of the piled snow was muted by the howling wind. She couldn't see even three feet from her face anymore.

Being blinded and muted by the snowstorm she couldn't see the sudden drop in front of her. The ground under her feet vanished and left her to fall through the air. Within seconds her body collided with cold earth hard but she kept falling. Over and over again, rolling and pounding against the ground only to eventually stop at the bottom of a deep ravine. She was able to protect her head and most of her body by curling up and covering her head with her arms so only her back and arms were injured. Once she was safely at the bottom and able to sit up she tried to stand but her leg got badly hurt so she was forced to stay down. That was when something moved in the snow.

Down in the ravine, it was quieter but colder. She could see somewhat and that allowed her to see that she wasn't alone. She drew her sword for her own protection but the movement made her whole body ache so she dropped it. That was when she heard a low growl coming from the snow. This made her heart race a bit faster in her chest as the sound got louder and the snow crunched and shifted in front of her. She couldn't make out much more than shifting white and a pair of bright blue eyes starring back at her. The shock made the girl try to scoot back and flee but the pair of eyes immediately shot forward and she felt a heavy set of clawed paws on her chest and press her down into the snow. The warm air of the dragon's breath suddenly blew against her face and the loud roar in her ears. She stared up in shock and fear. A lightfury. A lightfury was on top of her, holding her down in the snow but this wasn't like any lightfury she had ever seen or heard of or even a nightfury. Actually.... this dragon wasn't like any other she had ever seen before. As far as she knew, no dragon ever had what this one did. This dragon.... had feathers and small patches of fur in certain places. This creature was extremely beautiful and was definitely at least a kind of Lightfury.

The girl gulped down a lump in her throat while the dragon continued to stare her down. Was this dragon really not like others? Would it kill her here and now? After what seemed like an eternity in that tense situation, now that snow had started to gather on the girl's face and her lips turning blue, the dragon let the girl sit up but then grabbed the girl's cloak in its bared teeth and lifted her up to carry her to the top of the very highest point of the island, where the wind was hardest and the snow the heaviest. The lightfury plopped the girl down painfully and watched as the girl tried to get up but was still injured from her fall. The dragon slowly stalked and circled around the human girl. Watching her and waiting for something. Almost threatening the girl to try and escape or fight and attack. The two stood in that strong weather with locked eyes. When Serenity tried to move, either way, the dragon would growl and his while slowly lighting a fire in its throat in warning. She was trapped and stuck. She couldn't move in any form. Ironic that she would go and try to save others but wound up needing saved herself. If this dragon didn't change its mind soon, Serenity would freeze to death where she stood.

Gabriella awoke to the sounds of birds and the soft snoring of her new glowing companion. She held completely still, frozen in place without the help of its paralyzing mist. At least, until she remembered what happened the day before. As she calmed down, recalling events in as good clarity as she could manage despite the almost life ending experience the day before offered, she moved to sit up to look at the dragon in more detail. It was still sleeping, rather soundly than what would be expected of a wild dragon with a Human it had never seen before. What made it trust her so much? It wasn’t like she saved its life or anything major like that...right? The details after seeing the glow in the storm were all fuzzy, so she guessed she couldn’t be sure?
Oh well, that was important. What was important was getting back to the Great Hall now that it seemed like the awful blizzard was over and done with. She went to stand up, which seems to have roused the dragon from it's own sleep. It looked around seeming just as confused as she had been, which made her laugh. The glowing beauty looked over at her with a look of confusion but also hunger, which all but stopped her laughter. That wasn't good. She didn't think they ate meat, but it would probably be best not to risk it. Maybe Victoria would know since her father studies dragons?
With that decided, she sat her hand on the back of the dragon, really feeling its scales instead of just watching them glimmer in whatever light they had in this cave. Oh! That gave her an idea! She looked at the dragon with a small smile. "Would it be cool if I called you Glimmer? That way it's not just Dragon?" She asked. The dragon now known as Glimmer let out one of the cutest roars that made Gabriella beam. Did she just find a dragon roar cute? Well, how couldn't she when Glimmer seemed so happy about her name? Gabriella was all smiles as she headed out of the cave, Glimmer walking right beside her. "You know, you could just fly away." She says, looking over at the dragon with a worried look. "Wouldn't your pack worry about you?" Glimmer gave a small roar, which just caused Gabriella to shrug her shoulders. "Well, alright. If you say so. Though I will say you have a poor judge of good company." She commented as she made her way through the forest. With it being pretty clear, it was easy to find her way back. No getting lost today! Though it was quite a walk; she had been farther away than she had initially thought. Guess that's what should have been expected though, seeing as she stopped feeling anything because of the cold.
When Gabriella finally made it back to the Great Hall, she wasn't all too surprised when she fully saw the state of the giant doors. It was to be expected, seeing as a Dramillion burst through them. She peeked inside, looking to see if the coast was clear, and low and behold, the Dramillion was still there. She had been thinking of just backing away and just waiting elsewhere for everyone else, but Glimmer had another idea. She just walked right in, sniffing around before her attention was focused on the Dramillion. Gabriella panicked, rushing in to try and pull the giant creature away from the other dragon. "Oh no! I really don't think picking fights is the best idea! We can just leave!" She tried to reason, though her efforts were in vain as Glimmer refused to budge. Stupid whatever instincts this was! It was not helpful!

Victoria perks up hearing Gabriella and she gets up in record time, running over and hugging the other girl "You will never believe what happened" she says "So after I got you guys out I decides to take a closer look, carefully of course, so after getting a dragons tooth out of his stomach, which he had a funny way of saying thanks for, he calmed down and I think we sort of bonded?" she says, the Dramillion inspecting the scene before deciding he doesn't have to get up "And I'm so glad you're alright and I'm sorry for forcing you out in the storm" Victoria says, she feels guilty because of that, she's relieved Gabriella's alright, but the others could still be dead, two because she forced them to leave the hall "And I guess we need food" she says, the hunger hadn't registered earlier "Hey Spike, can you get some fish?" she asks earning a confused look, she had to get dinner ready "I would go with you, but I'm not confident enough to go flying just yet", she starts on the stew and curses under her breath and Spike heads out of the hall, flying towards the nearest fishing spot. With the sky now clear it's easier to see the chaos is had been after Victoria got the others out, the scorch marks on the wall the small bit of blood, from when she pulled the tooth out and the blood on the wall and near the wall from when she had hit it after her new dragon had tried to get her away from the tooth, granted he couldn't know she wanted to help out in the first place, but all in all, it was a huge mess.

After a few more hours of rest, Alva got up and so did his new dragon. At least his father should be happy that his dragon was the same as his own. He smiled at the fearsome but calm dragon he gently touched the dragon's snout and got up, the nightmare following. Once out in the fresh snow where he could see the massive dragon in full he couldn't help but notice how well taken care of the spines and horns it grew were. He smiled again and suggested the name Thorn to it and the large dragon drew closer and lowered its head a bit to let the boy touch his hand to its snout and form their bond. This massive and scary-looking dragon with its black and teal colors accepted him right away without any kind of hesitation or thought. It was a first. There were no judgments between them. A new feeling he would have to get used to.

Together, the pair trudged their way through the impacted snow towards the great hall once again, hoping the group would be able to return and regroup here. His worries were put to rest when he saw Victoria and Gabriella together but even more fascinated and happily surprised that they seemed to have their own dragons as well. It was the first time in his life that he actually ran towards people happily. He was relieved and ecstatic. The Monsterous nightmare following closely behind him and slightly roaring because running on the ground was not its particular forte.

"Victoria! Gabriella!" he called brightly while running and waving one arm in the air to get their attention, "You're both alright! I'm so glad! And you found your dragon partners! Amazing!" he then congratulated them cheerfully. It was a first for him. He had never felt so happy nor looked such. He had never been so brightly shining with joy before. He was even sparkling if one had an imagination. It was quite a shocking transformation, "This is Thorn." he introduced.
1589524304666.png
For the longest time, the dragon and the Viking stood and stared at one another intensely. The dragon was the first to move. Stalking closer to the girl who stepped back only twice before the lightfury charged forward and slipped under the girl's legs and quickly jumped up into the air and spread its wings wide, taking the girl for a ride with a low and angry growl. Serenity, of course, screamed in shock at the sudden movement and grabbed onto the dragon's body as quickly and as tightly as she could. She couldn't suppress her fear as the two kept climbing higher and higher into the air. Into the clouds, they flew and Serenity had to shut her blue and green eyes tightly to keep the water and snow from getting into them. Higher and higher they flew until they were finally above the snow clouds. The cold air even more chilled up here but calmer and quieter. The dragon had leveled off and stopped growling. This made Serenity open her eyes to see exactly where she was taken. When she looked around she saw white clouds below and everywhere else around her was countless diamond stars dusted across the night sky. The millions of shining lights dazzled the girl. She had to tear her eyes away and look down at the dragon that now bore her on its back. She could tell by the soft sound of cooing that this dragon was female and this gave her the perfect chance to give her a name. "Starlight." she said with a soft smile, "Is that what you want me to call you?" The dragon nodded its head then turned to look forward.

The two flew around until the storm died down and began their descent. Serenity still couldn't believe that she now had her own dragon, but not only that, a strange and beautiful lightfury. Once on the ground Serenity tried to get down but as soon as she put weight on her injured leg she fell. Starlight offered to help her walk and the girl took up the offer with a thankful smile. It would be hard to get anywhere without aid. Together they looked around and tried to find Ragnar and Rose but to no avail. With her leg in this condition, Serenity would be of no use so she had no choice but to return to the hall instead where she saw three of the four she left behind and three more dragons added to the group. "Well, this is surprising, I have to say," she said with a half-smile.

Victoria's eyes light up seeing the other two "Eh Serenity, we have no idea where Ragnar, Yuki and Rose are" she says "I know you told Yuki to protect everyone, but I wasn't sure he could and my instinct told me to get him out of there when a Dramillion broke in", Yuki had been too childish and probably would have gotten them all stuck in a corner instead of outside. So she tells Alva and Serenity what happened, leaving out the part where she's injured, Serenity would probably figure it out anyway if she saw the state off the great hall "Oh right, Spike's fishing so the dragons can eat something, I was just starting on the stew when Gabriella showed up with... that Flightmare", she was so glad they're alright, but the others were still missing, so that wasn't good at all "We could look for them if you want".

Without any luck Rosemarie heads back to the great hall, she's still freezing cold and could use some good new right about now, so she looks around once more before leaving the area "It's freezing" she says, Midnight had kept her warm, but her clothes are soaked, she gets on Midnights back when she sneezes and the dragon flies off towards the great hall "Remind me to make armor with your scales" she mumbles, the view from above was the best, she could spend hours there. She spots the others and Midnight growls, not wanting to land "They're my friends, you know, if you hadn't kidnapped me we could be walking back with Ragnar", so Midnight lands a bit away from the group, still growling dangerously, daring any of them to get too close "Midnight" Rose says before she sneezes again "It's freezing, can you please stop being so overprotective?" she asks, but of course Midnight doesn't trust anyone, so she doesn't listen "Can I at least go to my sister?" Rose asks so her dragon walks closer, stopping near Serenity.

Sometime during the storm Ragnar had found himself falling into a sleep. He was rudely awakened by the feeling of a large solid object colliding with his midsection he jerked awake and was faced by the dragon he'd run into. The area was now completely full of snow and apparently the dragon had kept the snow off of him. "Thank you" Ragnar said looking around, the snow covered area, it looked as if some dragon had come along but now it was abandoned. Ragnar's hand went to his back, the axe was still there, good. Ragnar was suddenly struck with the thought that he's been gone for a very long time, what about the others? "I'm going back to my group, come if you want" Ragnar said to the dragon, not really thinking of a name for the silver scaled creature. Sure enough the dragon gave Ragnar a gentle headbutt as he began to walk away as if to signify it would follow. Ragnar made a beeline back for the main hall and he saw the group of people, the dragon stopped when they came into sight. It didn't seem to want anything to do with any kind of crowd and just sat down. Ragnar turned for a second before he shrugged, so long as it didn't attack anyone. Ragnar noticed just how bad the building looked. "Hello, I'm back, I don't" Ragnar began as he approached only to notice Rose had come back riding the dragon that had grabbed her. "Never mind" Ragnar said. There was a loud chirping that came from the back of the building and a familiar green, cat sized dragon leapt into view. Nibbler scurried around chirping excitedly, she must've gone hiding when the Dramillion attack the hall. She stopped in front of Ragnar and chirped before turning around and giving the other dragons glares. As if she was sizing them up.

Gabriella was...at a loss for words. She was just trying to get Glimmer to stop from going any further into the Great Hall when she got pounced on. She would have fallen to the floor if it hadn't been for Glimmer quickly offering her tail for support. Guess her legs still weren't in perfect working order, even if they are pretty thawed and warm. And then the other girl was telling her how she met...Spike...so that was a thing. A bad situation turned good...she guessed? Or not so good, seeing the damage that little skirmish. But worried her most was the wall, and the blood that seemed to be highlighting the damage done to it. It obviously wasn't from the dragon, so did that mean she was hurt? She was about to ask her when Alva came in, and he was oddly chipper. Definitely different from earlier. Gabriella had to guess that it came from his dragon, so she wouldn't question it any further. And now she knew both of the dragon's names: Spike and Thorn. Didn't seem like any of them were very creative with names. Gabriella then decided to head back to a wall that wasn't blood covered and sat down, rubbing at her legs. They were still kind of cold to the touch, so that probably should be fixed. Glimmer sauntered over and slid her away from the wall with her tail so she could lay behind her, effectively taking the wall's place of being the timid Viking's support. Gabriella offered the dragon a small smile, running her one of her hands down her body a couple of times as a way of petting (was that something you did with dragons? She wasn't sure, but she was doing it) before she went back to ridding her legs of the cold.
The others slowly made their way back into the Great Hall; all except for Yuki. Gabriella began wondering if he was dead due to the storm. It was a possibility, seeing how often he played around. She wondered if the two sisters noticed this yet. Wasn't her problem, though. It also looked like small dragon was reunited with master...and thought it was a bigger threat than it actually was, sizing up the other dragons. It was kind of cute, even if it was only a side distraction to her more pressing thoughts. What her mind kept going back to was the blood on the wall. She wanted to ask Victoria about it, seeing as it didn't match up with what she had told her about what had transpired the night before after she booted everyone out. And the more she thought about it, the more agitated she got, not being able to piece it together. This resulted in her gaze returning to the girl more often than not, which also meant she was adverting her gaze whenever she thought someone was looking at her so she wouldn't be caught being weird. She wanted to know...but she was talking to everyone else, and Gabriella didn't want to be a bother to the people who were actually friends and getting along. It wasn't her place. So, instead, she just leaned deeper onto Glimmer, heaving out a sigh as she tried to figure it out on her own. "What do you think happened?" She asked her dragon companion. Glimmer only answered by blowing a puff of air into her face. "Wow...great opinion." She softly giggled, lightly tapping the dragon's nose.

Rose jumps off Midnight and hugs Ragnar without warning "I came back to the place I left you, but couldn't find you" she says "I'm glad you're alright though", when she realizes exactly what she's doing she goes red and steps back quickly "So... think Yuki's alright? Haven't seen him yet" she asks, well that was awkward, she enters the hall and raises an eyebrow at the mess and something landing in front of the hall, she was hungry, but she needed to dry her clothes first "Sis, can you help out? Midnight kept me warm, but my clothes are soaked" she says. Midnight follows Rose, promptly ignoring the Terrible Terror, the sight of fish gets the dragons attention, but she decides to wait until she's sure Rose is alright.

Victoria is well aware that Gabriella's watching her, so she tries not to flinch too much, but when the stew has most ingredients in it she walks to the girl "Eh... do you think you could help?" she, she wasn't an idiot and needed someone to take care of her back, so she turns around and takes off her cloak, her dress is torn and the claw marks are burned closed, but it's easy to see they match her new friends claws. She pets her dragon and smiles "Thanks for going fishing" she says giving it a hug before Spike lays down next to Glimmer. Victoria also knows she shouldn't keep injuries like that hidden, but she's stubborn, not as stubborn as your average viking, but stubborn enough to deal with it "I didn't say anything so you guy wouldn't worry too much, I don't even know how it looks" she says, she knew it hurt though.

Soon there was only one missing from their group and that was a great relief but it was still worrisome that he hadn't returned from the panic yet. Some of the other dragons seemed a bit more... standoff-ish than expected but he guessed that could be easily worked on later. The monstrous nightmare didn't seem to care too much for the other dragons as long as they didn't start any fights with it, the dragon seemed almost... docile. Lazy even. Thorn gently rested its head on Alva's head, not putting the full weight down but enough to let him know that the dragon was there and rather bored with the humans and dragons alike. "Should we go together and look for him? It will be easier now with our dragons," he suggested, "Though, some of us are injured and need some medical attention. I have some supplies in my pack if that helps at all." he offered mostly to Victoria and Gabriella.
1589613414358.png
Seeing Rose come into view Serenity was filled with relieve and hobbled a bit through the snow to hug her little sister even as the unfamiliar dragon growled and was ready to attack. She was quick to hug her little sister out of pure worry for her safety. "Oh thank Odin, you're safe. You're okay. You're not hurt, are you?" she asked, clearly feeling how wet and cold the younger girl was. The unique lightfury followed closely behind Serenity for her own protection and growled warningly at the unfamiliar Nightfury. The older girl noticed and noted that her little sister was soaking wet and freezing cold to the touch. That would have to be immediately addressed. Of course, she wasn't going to overlook the others and their health either. "You're soaking wet, Rose. "I have some spare clothes in my bag you can have. I also have a spare cloak if you want it." she then looked to the completely black nightfury who seemed to be even more protective of Rosie than she was. "I see you take after father more than anyone ever realized. Hopefully Yuki will as well." she then had to hobble her way back a bit to let her own dragon help her to stay standing properly, "Were you able to get a good look at the place while out there? We also have to find Yuki. He's still out there and could be in trouble. Knowing him, he most likely is. What do you think, Rosie? " she asked this time with a bit more of a desperately worried tone and expression while reaching into her pack and pulling out a set of clothes and a second cloak and handed them over the younger girls she could get warm quicker.

Starlight kept watch over the two girls' interactions but mostly on the female nightfury that seemed a bit too tense than she should be. With a soft growl to the other dragon, Starlight had made an attempt to let the other dragon know that they were not in bad company if she were to stay calm. The lightfury wasn't going to take any nonsense from any other dragon, even one of a similar kind to her. She followed her partner into the hall and quickly found a place where she scorched the stone and spun to warm the stone under her while circling and lay down. The spot she chose was near the chief's chair where Rose and Serenity had slept before.

Gabriella was surprised that Victoria came over, if she was being honest. The timid Viking sat up straighter, causing Glimmer to stir from her rest. She wrapped her tail around Gabriella's waist, not opting to growl, but she still showed protectiveness. The girl still wasn't entirely sure why the dragon followed her, but she wasn't going to complain. She glowing creature was actually a more welcome presence than she had thought she would, and she accomplished why she came here in the first place. Added bonus, she guessed. Oh, but Victoria had stopped moving, standing right in front of her. She had said something, but before Gabriella could ask what she had said, her cloak was discarded and the wound she had feared would be there, was. The timid girl flinched, her eyes momentarily closing in reflex at the sight. It wasn't that she was bad with this kind of stuff, just that she wasn't used to seeing them first hand. "U-Um, could you sit down so I can look at it better?" She asked softly, her voice barely above a whisper. She lightly touched the wound, careful not to hurt her while she examined it. She had some herbs that could help, but nothing that was going to actually mend it.
While she was trying to figure out what to do, Alva spoke up. She looked over at the boy with a look of confusion before it turned into something thoughtful. She thought for a moment before nodding in acceptance. "I-If you...could..." she responded, looking back at Victoria's back. She could hear the sisters talking, but they were more background noise at this moment than anything. At least, until she was able to patch up Victoria's back. She also heard Glimmer let out a low growl as Spike drew closer, so she took a hand and set it on her back. "Shhh Glimmer." She cooed, slowly petting her until her growling stopped. "He won't hurt you. He's just staying close to the one he bonded with." She quietly explained, and that, somehow, seemed to work. Glimmer settled back down, though her tail wrapped more firmly around Gabriella's waist, which resulted in her being pressed more closely against the dragon. The girl gasped in surprise, but it wasn't uncomfortable, so she didn't comment on it. She wasn't about to fight a dragon over what they did with their tail.
