So I thought for a long while about how Lydia could possibly respond to what happened and I came up with three scenarios.

1. Lydia acts overly dramatic and says stupid things.
2. Lydia wants to stay with James regardless and says the past is the past.
3. Lydia breaks up with James for X amount of reasons.
