I used to draw, but I stopped drawing as much because I always erase stuff while they are still in prgress because I don't think it looks good enough, and as a result I don't improve
Hmm...I'm still practicing and recently got out of a showing. Which by the way Roleplay Skittle
It was awesome! A few hiccups here and there, but a lot of people liked my stuff!! *jumps and squees in glee*
I dunno, I plan on continuing, but I never find that my work is good enough, so I scrap 90% of what I do.The 10% I don't scrap, I only think half are actually worthy of anything. I just compare my art too much to others
Alright. I don't know what your style is and what not, but from what I understand every artist never believes that they are good enough compared to others. Even the masters from long time ago, those psychos. XD
I'm an art major in my school and I'm not the best at drawing realistic style. I'm not good with my shading nor am I good at picking a right angle when I first started on this career choice of mine. Then I notice how everyone else around me was so much better that I couldn't help but think 'I should quit. These guys are so good!' But I didn't. I kept studying the anatomy of the life models we had over many times. I kept asking everyone how they d certain things and how did they pick the right color choice for shades and highlights. I've gotten a lot better than before, but I still need to study more because my style, which is more anime than cartoon, is not really accepted in the USA as an art style. Could be the eyes or how odd the anatomy is, which is why I studied those two specifically. Same with colors and along the way, I've noticed that I'm pretty good at story telling and character designing. XD Same with the other art students. Some of us are better at one thing than the others and you know what? I think it's pretty cool that we're learning the subject but with different paces.
There's this guy I know name Leo and he's fantastic! He can draw real-life stuff with barely any issue. Same with a girl from russia named Olga. They were the top students at drawing real life stuff. but then I noticed that they weren't very good at story telling or creating their own images based on other images and putting them together like how I can. Leo even asked me how to think of stories to tell as he didn't want to be a one-trick pony and he told me that he loves my stuff because of that element that I have.
Right, so you shouldn't give up on drawing if you really like it. Sure, you may not be good at it now, but study anatomy. Sketch them out as much as you can. Notice the curves and the way the body moves. It'll be hard but it's worth it!
Here's a website to help you start on that! Try it whenever you want to. Not when you can. When you want to. It'll be easier for you to draw when you feel up to drawing at the moment, okay? ^W^ Sorry about the long paragraphs...I don't when to shut up when it comes to art. XD
