Realistic or Modern Home for Unwanted Magical Children

Dakota opened the message and read it aloud for Felix to hear, "'hey little d, do u and your friend want to come downstairs to get icecream and we can say sorry'. Wow he has bad grammar." She sent back a text saying what she typed aloud, "'How about no'."

<p>"Well, there is an ice cream stand downstairs, but if you want to go we can go later when Xerxes is not there," Dakota answered. She checked her phone, to see the time. It was 7:10.</p>

<p>Dakota coughed again, "Can you watch over Christian while I grab some ice cream so we don't have to go down there and see Xerxes. I don't think he is down there now, but I want to be safe. What flavor do you want? I might grab some for Christian in case he wakes up."</p>

<p>"Gladly! I like chocolate." Felix smiled. "I'll watch him. If you need anything, you could text me." Felix handed her a piece of paper with his number on it. "Careful."</p>

"I will only be down there for a minute," she grabbed the paper. She opened the door and ran down the hallway and found the stairs. She hated stairs but she did not want to wait for the elevator. Dakota slid down the railing of the stairs and found an ice cream stand. She found herself in front of a self-working ice cream stand. You put in your name on the computer system and then you got yourself your ice. She touched the computer screen. She scrolled down and found her name: Dakota Reemer. The glass opened and she scooped some chocolate onto a cone, and then some vanilla on to a cone, for Christian. She scooped some peach onto an cone and put them into a container like those ones for drinks at places like Burger King.

Still standing out the window, Felix sees a storm cloud approaching the building. He smiles widely, he loved storms. "Do you like rain?" He asked Christian as a joke. "Me too buddy." He smiled and waited for Dakota.

Dakota ran up the stairs, quickly with the ice cream in her hand. Once reaching the top of the stairs she knocked on the door, unable to open the door since it was locked and she forgot her key in the room.

Felix opened the door to see Daktoa with ice cream. "Oh joy!" He said in relief. "Welcome back!" He laughed.

"Hello," she said. She sat the cones onto a table and grabbed hers. She handed Felix's ice cream to Felix. She took a lick of the dessert and smiled a bit, "Ice cream..."

"Yes." Felix returned. A childish tone erupted from his personality as his focus was fully directed toward the cold treat. "Mmmm. I haven't had ice cream since..." Felix kept eating.

"I know right," Dakota said shoving her ice cream down her mouth like she did as a young child when her parents would take her to the ice cream stands. The memories began flowing back.

"I miss being five..." Felix looked out at the rain starting to fall, he remembered his childhood and retreated, "Never mind." He chuckled.

Dakota sat down next to Christian, "You OK bud?" She ate a bit more of her ice cream before wiping off her mouth with her sleeve. She was no neat freak as far as she was concerned.

"I go super fast!" the boy grinned. "Like running--super speed, you know."

"Your back in Room 2," Dakota said. She did not notice the young boy still in the room talking. "Oh sorry kid, did not know you were there." She was able to call him a kid because he did not exactly hit puberty yet.

"Holy hell!" Felix said when the rock flew into the room. He accidentally transported to the ceiling and fell down to the floor and hit the ground hard. "Ouch." He stood bak up rubbing his head.

Dakota picked up the stone that was the size of her hand. She looked at it confused. It was a normal rock. "Why would someone..."
