EZ answered everything they needed while keeping the club out. He wrapped his arms instantly around Val as she came in "I dont know, they took him for testing." He said quietly

Max gave a small frown seeing his pained face "Babe? Angel whats wrong?" She asked quietly

Val shook her head just wanting James in her arms now. “Bishop said he wasn’t waking up! He was really cold, he’s gonna be okay right? Isn’t he?!” She asked him shaking and starting to really freak out until a doctor came to speak to them. “Please! Where is my son? Can we go see him?!”

Angel frowned and squeezed her hand tighter mumbling inaudibly for a minute then gripped her hand tighter. “Head... hurts bad.” He mumbled shaking some before tensing Jon

The doctor gave a small nod sighing heavily "Hypothermia, he should be fine if we treat it right now. He has pretty bad bruising and we think a broken bone or fracture we'll need to do an x-ray soon."

Max pressed the call button a few times and gave a heavy sigh kissing his temple gently "Its okay babe I promise." He murmured

Val frowned squeezing EZ’s hand tightly until they let them go through to him and she went straight to the bed, laying with her little boy, kissing his head over and over. “Oh mommy’s here. Mommy’s here.” She whispered repeatedly just reaching for EZ’s hand.

Angel frowned when their response was just to get him more pain meds for the time being, making sure he lay down and could still see max just staring at the ceiling.

EZ held her hand but sat opposite her so he could look at his sleeping son as well. He took deep breaths just praying quietly that everything would be alright.

Max sighed heavily and thanked them quietly while she held his hand "Its going to be alright Angel. Soon this will all be over and we'll be home together."

Val frowned just smoothing James’s hair back away from his face keeping him in her arms and refusing to move even when a nurse would come in to check on him every so often, murmuring to him the whole time. “Why isn’t he waking up?” She asked the next time someone was in there, terrified.

Angel frowned just squeezing her hand and trying to get some rest, coco coming in to talk to her and visit.

The nurse gave a small frown sighinh softly "We have him on a sedative to keep him stable for right now. He should be able to wake in the next hour or so." She explained quietly

Max waved at Coco and hugged him some "Hey, did you find him?" She asked letting out a sigh of relief when he nodded "Oh thank god."

“He’s not great but they think he’s gonna be alright. Val and EZ are with him. He’s not looking good at all.” He muttered looking over at Angel.

Val sighed heavily but nodded and looked over at EZ frowning when she left. “Talk.” She whispered squeezing his hand

Max frowned some and gave a small nod "Im scared shitless about him. Im worried theyll kick him out again due to insurance and he wont get better." She whispered to him

EZ shook his head some not taking his eyes off of James "You two deserve better....he deserved a better father. This is all my fault." He muttered

She shook her head frowning some. “Yeah this happened because of the club.... but he was also found because of the club.... and he’s gonna be okay because his daddy made sure of it from the moment he found him.... he adores you EZ. Very much so, please.... take this as a wake up call to both of us, come home... start again.... don’t push us away this time.” She mumbled frowning.

Coco frowned but nodded and sighed heavily. “I know.... Bishop is gonna come down later but for now I’m here.” He told her gently and took a seat.

EZ gave a small nod and closed his eyes tight wiping away the stray tears that fell "Im so sorry for everything I did to you." He whispered before squeezing her hand

Max gave a small nod and chatted woth him for a bit until Bishop came down to see him

She frowned some just nodding a little. “I know EZ, I know.” She mumbled. “Here you wanna lay with him? I need to go use the restroom.” She told him quietly and frowned a bit, getting up carefully.

Angel started waking up again, looking really out of it this time and wasn’t even focusing on max or anybody else, staring ahead of himself and drooling a little.

EZ nodded some and layed with his son keeping him protectively close taking deep breaths "I got you buddy I promise." He whispered to him

Max looked over and frowned seeing how Angel looked. She quickly pushed the call button knowing drool was not a good sign at all.

He groaned loud and just tried his best to get sat up but he was too weak to move and he couldn’t even see that bishop and coco were there “Max.” He grunted frowning, his chest heaving as it was getting hard to breathe.

Val got back a few minutes later to find James was finally starting to wake up, rushing to be next to him as well and gently took his little hands in hers. “Hey there sweetheart, hey, hey it’s alright, mommy’s here.” She murmured.

Max frowned pressing the call button again squeezing his hand some "Angel? Angel its okay I promise focus on me,focus on my voice." She said softly to him

EZ got up and let Val lay with James "You're safe buddy its okay, mommy and daddy are here." He said quietly squeezing Val's free hand

He was trying desperately to stay awake and look at her but soon as they were in there they kicked everybody out to try and get him stable again.

Val frowned watching James get fussy and looking panicked. “Shh baby you’re safe I promise. I’m right here.” She murmured letting him cuddle in close as possible while he was crying “I got you baby. I got you. Daddy’s right here too.” She told him quietly and looked at EZ, giving James all the time he needed to calm down a bit.

Max sat outside the room bouncing her knee trying to stay calm but everything felt it wasnt going to be good news once they came out of the room.

EZ watched them some "Its okay buddy I promise." He said softly thankful that he calmed some "Youre safe I promise." He whispered

Val lay soothing him for a long while until she fell asleep without meaning to and James reached for his dad sniffling and crying. “Daddy I wanna go home!” He whimpered.
When they did eventually come out the room to speak to max they were assured that Angel had pulled through but it was going to be a very long time before he would be getting back to work if at all.

EZ held his son shaking his head some "I know buddy but we cant right now. They gotta make sure you're okay." He said softly kissing the top of his head repeatedly

Max nodded and rushed into the room holding his hand tight sighing heavily as she watched him.

-6 weeks-
Angel was finally doing okay enough for them to send him home and he’d been back for a week or so now, just trying to get his bearings on what would have to be his new normal now. “Babe! Mari needs a change!” He called to her having tried to stand up and hold her at the same time but he hadn’t been able to do that and so he was just sat holding her while she got more and more fussy.

Val got in from doing groceries and started putting things away, listening to cartoons playing in the lounge and stuck her head in seeing both EZ and James cuddled together on the couch. James still had his arm in a cast but he wasdoing better physically for the most part. The difficult onehad been seeing her bubbly and excited little boy go quiet and barely ever say a word now. It broke her heart every time he responded with a nod instead ofwords. “You guys want a snack?” She asked. They still weren’t in the same bed but she was allowing ez back into thehouse now.

Max rushed down having her hair half done so she could get ready for work. She picked up Mari and smiled happily taking her to get changed "Oh you shush missy you're okay mommy has you." She murmured. She walked back to Angel and kissed him gently before handing Mari back "Gracie should be up from her nap soon."

EZ held his son and smiled softly kissing the top of his head "Yeah that would be great babe." He murmured. It had been a slow process but he was sure James was getting better. He was happy to be home and repairing his relationship with Val again.

James held onto him tightly, looking up at him
Panicked when he went to go use the restroom, trying to follow his dad into the bathroom, reaching for his mom when she walked past instead though while val picked him up and went to cuddle him on the sofa herself, “you want spaghetti for dinner?” She murmured softly.

“why are you going to work already? I told you we’re still getting club money the way I’ve always had it. You really don’t need to go to work.” He muttered watching her.

Max frowned some and gave a heavy sigh "I already told you, we have to show we are getting some kind of legitimate money for the next few months until CPS is off my back about Gracie." She explained before getting Mari changed

EZ came out and frowned some seeing Val and James standing outside of the door "Hey buddy, you decide on dinner?" He asked quietly

He frowned standing up a little and rubbed at his face. “I don’t remember that conversation but okay.” He mumbled, heading to the kitchen to get some water, shaking still when walking. “Dinner ready for me to stick in the oven yeah?” He mumbled watching her for a moment.

val shook her head frowning, kissing his head and rubbed his little back, leaving him on the couch carefully as he was falling asleep, tucking a blanket around him going to the kitchen and leaning against the counter starting to cry, burying her face in her hands. “I just wanna hear him talk again.” She whispered, feeling EZ’s arms go around her

Max sighed heavily shakimg her head some "Yeah its already in." She mumbled. Ever since they caught Brian amd sentenced him she had custody of Gracie. Angel had been so moody as well since it happened and she was reaching her limits with it. He was barely listening to her only hearing what he chose to hear.

EZ wrapped his arms around her and nodded softly kissing the top of her head "I do too Val....he...he is still shocked, he'll get better. We just have to let him process at his own pace." He said softly
