Species Bio: Large birds with feathers the colour of brightly burning flames, eyes the colour of polished gold or a sparkling blue, a call that is said to either make whoever hears it deaf or healed they are majestic and proud creatures. They manipulate fire and ash, every fifty years they will let their humanoid forms and creature forms fade to ash so they will not 'wither'. They can take on humanoid forms, usually keeping some traits from their creature form like the eyes or the abilities.

Personality : Tira is incredibly shy, the type of person that would rather sit in the back in silence and watch people than interact with them. Out of fear, she is silent and unable to make or start a conversation. However, Tira is quite the passionate person and will speak out when one of these topics are involved.


Personal Bio:


Her family, a flock of Phoenix's that rest within the mountains. Her family are a very proud and elegant bunch that take careful consideration to their appearance and their attitude. Being the youngest child she was both pampered and shadowed by her two older siblings. She was easily shunned, which was how she became scared to speak up. She was taught mannerism and her families customs and excelled in the healing recipes that are taught with the use of phoenix feathers. Once they revealed themselves to the public, her family upped their game in the business word easily, now adding their own remedies and cures to the market. After this she was enrolled in the school, where she hid herself in the shadows of the classroom, the assembly and the library.


Other:


- She is a very shy girl, often stuttering.


-Around her wrists is dark red and orange feathers as she isn't used to keeping a human form yet.


-She has a fear of feline creatures


-She is very passionate about music, her studies, drawing and singing.


-While she doesn't speak in fear of messing up or being bullied, she would most likely stand up for someone if she witnessed bullying.


-She has a small doll like key-chain hanging off her bag, something she may be seen whispering to occasionally.

Name: Umbra Necrus

Species: Shadow


Species Bio: The Shadows are those said to be abandoned by god, not worthy of a physical form and cast into darkness. A soul engulfed in the dark that merged with it and became what's known today as a Shadow. They are an immortal species and wander the earth without purpose. Today, Shadows are known as the darkness that stems from the light, which is partially true. A Shadow can attach themselves to a person or item and structure themselves to become a dark reflection.


In retrospect, not much is known about Shadows, even in the world of monsters. Some monsters don't even believe the species exist. As a result, many Shadows do not reveal themselves and remain in the accepting darkness.


One of the few known things about shadows, is their ability to change form. Since they are nothing but soul engulfed by the dark, they possess no physical form. Despite having the ability, many Shadows do not use it and remain as they are.

Personality: Umbra is a very timid person and tends to stutter when he feels uncomfortable. He's not assertive and will refrain from speaking his mind. Umbra is very unnoticeable, which makes him very uncomfortable when people actually notice and approach him. Even if he were to be walking next to you for five hours, you would've sworn you were by yourself.


On top of everything, Umbra has the absolute worst luck in the world. If something good happens once in a millennia, he knows that bad things will come at full force later on. Nothing ever seems to be going his way.


One thing he does find comfort in, is books. Books don't ridicule you, books don't put you down, and books don't abuse you. He can almost always be found with a book in his hand and he uses them to barricade himself from the rest of the world.


Despite possessing many talents, like cooking, Umbra holds no confidence in himself. However, he does have a lot of courage to continue facing adversity with a very awkward smile.


Personal Bio: For hundreds of years, Umbra withdrew himself from society, as all Shadows did. He didn't interact with the outside world, due to the opinions of those that resided there. Humans considered darkness evil, which made his race evil to an extent. He believed them and kept to the darkness, where he belonged


Although he didn't interact with the people, Umbra did tend to venture out to libraries and other places containing books. He was fascinated with them and would always read them whenever possible. Reading the books was a way of connecting with the outside world he couldn't be a part of and learned many things as a result.


Interaction with other monsters hadn't gone too well either. He doesn't like to go into detail about the experiences, but they ended with him not interacting in the world of monsters either. His owns species were none too helpful when it came to situations like his. Shadows were not an expressive species and only kept to themselves.


Eventually, Umbra found himself attending a school for monsters during the 21st century. He was conflicted when it came to this. He wanted to remain in seclusion, but he also wanted to be accepted by the outside world. Nonetheless, he still enrolled.


Other: Despite being a Shadow, Umbra has a fear of the dark.


Umbra always wears his scarf and long-sleeved clothing, no matter the weather.


His favorite season is winter.

Species Bio: How unfortunate. You have managed to stumble upon one of the most dangerous modern monsters that involves electricity and metallic plates. This monster, however, uses the music Genre of Dubstep, Drumstep, Drum n' Bass, And Techno. Odd isn't it? Well, it uses it for manipulating fear into it's enemies. And after they're scared out of their minds, The Sound Menace shall appear before your eyes and kill you with it's weaponry.

Personality: Raven doesn't do much other than listen to 300 songs and over in repeat until she is told to do something by a teacher or gets ticked off, snd uses the song that she is listening to to scare the living daylight out of her opponent, then shift into the Sound Menace. Sound fun? It should be...


Other than that, she can be shy at times and secretive. Nothing more, really.

Species Bio: Sawarineko ("hindering cat" or "harming cat")


Known for it's ability to drain the energy of it's victims by simply touching them. The Sawarineko also possesses a degree of strength that far exceeds that of a normal human. Even when under human form, Sawakrineko can exert power that the human body cannot under any circumstances.

Personality: Hitagi is very distant towards her other classmates. If you approach her you'll find that she possesses a sharp tongue and can be quite blunt while still maintaining a straight, somewhat blank, face when speaking to you. This trait of hers makes interacting with her a challenging task if not impossible. Inspite of this, she is sincere in everything she says and once you earn her trust you'll find that deep down she's really just a person afraid of getting hurt and looking for acceptance from the world.


Personal Bio: Hitagi was born in early 12th century Japan, her mother cursed with the blood of the Sawarineko and her father an honorable samurai as well as the village leader. Despite knowing that the Sawarineko was thought of an abominable creature across Japan, the samurai was deeply inlove with the beautiful creature and married Hitagi's mother. Soon after, Hitagi was born and the village became outraged. The villagers began to riot, gathering at the Hanekawa house and setting it ablaze. The fire spread throughout the house quickly, causing Hitagi's mother to die within the flames as her father took her to safety. Hitagi and her father went into hiding for 7 years until they were ultimately found. Hitagi's father saved her one last time which caused him to die so Hitagi could make a quick escape. Desperate and alone, she then stumbled upon a Temple of Prayer filled with kind monks that took her in and showed her kindness. To this day she still doesn't accept her Sawarineko blood and tries to keep her true form locked away inside of her.


Other: Black Hanekawa- Hitagi's "alternate identity"/ true form. Hitagi has named it this, because it takes on a completely different personality from her own. Black Hanekawa is playful and talkative, her words often laced with the sounds a cat often makes (particularly "nya"). She also has a more brutal which, when combined with her superhuman strength and her distracting choice of clothing (she hate's clothes), makes her a rather frustrating and difficult opponent to face. This form *only* takes over if Hitagi is pushed to the point of rage -much like the Hulk- and is the main reason why Hitagi is so distant towards other so she can keep Black away as much as possible.

Species Bio:


You know those figures in the corner of your eye?


The ones you put off as your "imagination"?


Look behind you.


Still nothing?


If it's nothing, why are you so paranoid? It's not like nothing can hurt you...


They say the Schatten were born from the deepest reaches of the human mind - a literal incarnation of fear. Specifically, the fear of the unknown. This is mostly true, as these shadow demons were created by belief; the belief that there is something in the darkness, something evil, something to pull you deeper into the night and the unspeakable horrors within. This belief held so strong, a manifestation of it was created in the physical world, by the minds of those who so desperately didn't want it to happen. The Angst Schatten roam endlessly as tortured souls, with only one temporary pain-killer: the souls of those whom helped spawn such a monstrosity, and those whom fear Death or his minions. While relieving the horrible feelings that plague them, it is only tape holding them together, and they continue to need more and more humans to satisfy this appetite. Some are stronger than others, and can last longer without the need of souls; while others simply perish, leaving no evidence of their existence.

True Appearance:

Personality: Unlike most of his kind, Metus is not angry in the least, nor does he have a thirst for blood and souls of the weak-minded (although he does find humans quite appetizing). He prefers to play pranks on others and is quite optimistic for being a hellish shadowy death machine. Despite this cheery demeanor, Metus is quick-tempered with those who don't agree with him, and is fully willing to lay his "life" on the line to prove a point.


Personal Bio: As many young children do, he feared the night. He feared that there may be someone dwelling there, out to get him. A rather sensible phobia, yes? However, as the German boy grew older, his paranoia dis as well. His parents took him to the therapist, who gave him medication that only temporarily fixed his dread. His fear brought forth a hellish creature by the name of Metus, who's only existence was to scare the child, and eventually take his soul to feast upon. After all was said and done, the newly-incarnate Angst Schatten moved on to others throughout the land, growing stronger with each year to come. Several centuries later, he heard of the high school; not just any high school, but one for 'monsters' such as him. Metus decided it would best if he were to get an education there, and as such enrolled himself into it.


Other: His species is often spotted around the forests of Germany, who's residents have come to call them "Angst Schatten" ("Fear Shadows").

Name: Junko Hayashi


Age: 800 years (looks 15-16)


Species: Nature spirit (She finds the connotation of nymph to be demeaning)


Species Bio (Only if you are creating a new species): Nature spirits are typically tied to some sort of natural object (like a stream or tree) and are most often female. They are mostly human in form and appearance, but depending on the tethered object, they can turn into a special tree or merge into water. Nature spirits are strongly allergic to iron, mercury, lead, and most heavy metals (It gives her rashes and welts). She is also mildly allergic to synthetic fabrics, after 3-4 hours of wear, a mild rash will appear. Nature spirits can typically alter life and life-giving substances, such as water and trees, but they are strongest in the substance that they are tethered to.

Personality (At least a paragraph): Junko is a somewhat naive and kind person whose innate intelligence is externally softened by her nature. She dislikes direct conflict, but once she is determined to do something, she won't stop for anything. Junko can get quite furious if she sees a person harming nature (she blushes green sometimes) and when she gets angry, she has a habit of getting flustered and cries. Also, she has a habit of committing faux pas due to her lack of societal knowledge, and is somewhat confused by modern technology, occasionally calling it magic.


Personal Bio: Junko grew up in the mountains of Japan, with several other Nature spirits in a forest. She was the offspring of two nature spirits, both female (don’t ask how that works). She didn’t venture out that often after 1852 when the West opened up Japan. After that she stayed in the forest, but it was beginning to be cut down to make houses. This changed when the public announcement of monsters occurred; the demolition stopped and she was enrolled in the school due to her comparatively young age.


Other: Where her bed would be, there is a bed sized pool of river water.

We would like it if you could lower your characters age a bit, we prefer to have all characters at most 1000 years old, so there isn't too much of an age difference with everyone. Also, we would like it if you would add a bit more to your species bio, and possible personal bio. We found it a bit vague, and would like a little bit more information.Once you have made the necessary changes, we will look over your application again, and we hope to accept you then.
