Marilyn Cheng
Location: Sheetz Gas Station
Interaction: None...
Marilyn knew that she should have been in school right now, meeting up with her friends, getting lost in the library, or perhaps be inside the room listening to the boring lectures of her AP Environmental Science classes. Yet here she is in front of a shelf packed with an assortment of snacks inside the grimy shop of Sheetz Gas Station, a medical mask covering her reddish nose as she sickly coughs away with a severe case of flu that has barely subsided yet. The deaf girl carries on a basket of apple juices and salty chips for her siblings' next weeks' school lunches along with a box of baby food and a small variety of prescripted pills for her own sickness to slow down just for a day until she has the money enough to get into some proper medication.
Her tired eyes swept across the shelves with a deep gaze, coughing a few, silently thinking if she has enough money to sneak a treat for herself, hopefully being able to hide it from Royce who is worried her well being, and decided on a small pack of Maltesers before heading her way towards the counter to pay. Marilyn would then look down at her phone to check on her brother while waiting for the cashier. The money settled on her other hand ready to give it towards the lady while reading the text he sent.

Marilyn couldn't help but snort softly then cough as she replies back, her thumb texting away speedily as she gives a quick glance towards the cashier just in time to pay. Upon receiving the receipt, she would then take the plastic bag and head out of the Gas Station to take a bus back home. Her phone tucked into her pocket after she presses sent before she surveys the streets, both earplugs tucked into her ears right after to make it seem like she's listening to music before walking away...

"Oh smooth Pepper. Great friend making skills. God im gonna spend the year alone with my only friend in detention." Pepper said before standing up and walking out of the cafeteria. She pulled out her car keys and started walking towards the exit. "Today is so not my day. First some perv in the parking lot. Now i'm talking out loud to myself." She muttered to herself as her phone buzzed in her pocket.

"That's it im going to go get some coffee." Pepper said putting her phone away before getting into her car. She sighed turning on the radio to listen to it for a while.

"Oh wassup Hanah? Hey you got a tissue? Thanks." Libra said as he plucked the note off her back and blew his nose with it. He then threw it away with a shrug. "Nobody takes pride in their pranks anymore i guess." He then started doing warmups planning to test his new found abilities a little today.

After getting to her feet, she brushed herself off and listened to him speak. She was interested to hear about him being from Brazil. She'd never left the state, let alone the country, and she wondered if it was very difficult to live in a different country to the one you grew up in. Evie couldn't even begin to imagine what that might be like. She laughed at his joke too.

"Are you the skipping type? I've got a bike too."

Was she the skipping type? She wasn't sure how to answer that. In the past, Evie had skipped school before but it was less to do with wanting to have a good time and a lot more to do with the fact that she couldn't cope with school. She'd never skipped school just for the sake of it. As the seconds ticked by, she pondered what to do. On one hand, lunch was beginning to come to a close and she barely even knew this boy. On the other hand, wasn't this what normal highschoolers were supposed to do? But then, wasn't he suggesting that he had a motorbike? She could never, in a million years, even go near one of those. Her moms couldn't even coax her into their family car anymore and a motorbike was bound to be even more dangerous. If she went with him, she'd surely die. She deliberated, her forehead creased in thought.

"You mean, like a motorbike?" She said, finally, and she shook her head as if she did so, "I don't really... Well, I've kinda got this big phobia of that kind of thing. Not just motorbikes but, like, cars too," She wasn't just making it up, it honestly was true and she didn't want to seem like she was making excuses, "I lost two siblings in a car accident when I was little. It kinda puts you off. And don't think that you can just talk me into it because believe me, my parents have been trying to get me into a car for the last eight years and it hasn't happened. Just thinking about it makes me freak."

Mars

Although she had vowed to start getting ready to leave in the evening, Mars found it particularly difficult to rest when she knew that hunters were on the prowl and in such big numbers. And unlike her, they wouldn't have to be invited in. Instead of resting, she found herself pacing in her front room and peering out through the curtains. Honestly, she thought to herself, you're acting completely paranoid. Part of her reasoned that she hadn't done anything wrong and there was no need to work herself up when she covered her tracks so well; another part of her quietly took the opportunity to remind her that in the eyes of a hunter, a vampire is a vampire. They shoot first and don't ask questions.

Mars knew that she'd have to get of the house before she drove herself crazy. Besides, if she was going to disappear come night time, she'd probably want to take some supplies with her. Who knew where she would settle next or how she'd get there?

Although she was lucky enough to be one of her kind that didn't burn up in the sun, she wrapped up anyway. Just because she could go out in the sun didn't mean her skin wasn't sensitive to it. Not to mention, since it was beginning to get chilly out, it would no doubt look suspicious if she wasn't dressed appropiately for the weather. She shrugged on a jacket and stuffed her purse in the pocket before winding a scarf around her neck. As she stepped out and locked the door behind her, she couldn't help glancing up and down the street in case there were hunters waiting outside. No, she'd be able to smell them if they were, hear their fragile heartbeats. She wondered if they'd ever learn to mask those things. As her feet met the sidewalk, she spotted one of her neighbours eyeing her and she waved cheerfully at them before heading on her way.

As Mars padded towards Sheetz, she couldn't help remembering how she'd run into the two Chapelle brothers there last night. What an odd pair they had been. She wondered if they were in school today and the thought made her lip curl- as she'd said before, she did not envy those who were trapped in teenage bodies. If she had to be stuck forever, she was glad it was at the prime of her-

Abruptly, Mars stopped dead in the middle of the sidewalk. She smelt the girl before she saw her and the scent was so strong that she wondered for a moment whether it was one of those 'blood donation' days at the hospital again. It was absolutely overwhelming, the scent of blood, as if somebody was bleeding out right in front of her but more intense. Dizzy with hunger, all of a sudden, it took Mars a second to actually look at the girl who was walking towards her. She had to be in high school but was obviously out because she was sick. She was carrying some groceries with her and seemed to be listening to music on her headphones. The moral part- the human part- of Mars told her to run, never look back, and leave the poor girl alone. The vampire part pleaded with her to go towards the girl. She stayed frozen in the middle of the sidewalk, staring at the girl.

It took everything she had in her not to take another step forward.

It was kind of...reassuring. His smile slowly started freezing when her expression changed too. She started telling him personal things a few minutes into their conversation, which made him a tad bit uncomfortable. He just did not know what to do with this information that she had presented him with. It made him feel kind of indebted as if he'd have to tell something highly personal too. Telling personal things to strangers, well, acquaintances, was not his thing. He knew how dangerous that was, more dangerous than a motorbike ride.

"I'm sorry for your loss. I understand, don't force yourself to do anything you don't want to do," he smiled and tilted his head again. Remy was no stranger to loss either. Granted, he never lost a sibling, let alone two. However, living in a favela for almost half of your life meant that it was a common sight. He looked at the clock, smiling. She probably had somewhere to go, didn't she? He was the one fine with skipping, not her. He hoped that teachers would be as relaxed in here as they were in other places. Remy could make come up with a lie of some sorts to explain his disappearance in the middle of his first day.

"I think I'm going to pull a Dora the Explorer, perhaps I'll come back at some point. See you around, maybe," the boy said ominously before playfully fist bumping her shoulder as if she was one of the 'bros' as he left for the entrance. It took him a while to find his bike. Once he did, he mounted it and went for a drive. Away from this shithole of a school. In all honesty, he'd call any school that. He was not one of those straight A students. Never in a million years. He was the guy who skipped on his first day for sure.

Remy took a look at the fuel gauge, and just to screw with him, he noted that he needed to fuel this babe. Did he even have money with him? Remy let one hand go, tapping his backpack. Wallet? Check. Now where the heck was that gas station he saw earlier? He scratched his head, wondering where the hell he was now. In the end, he found himself on a familiar road heading to the gas station. He pulled over, reading the sign. "Sheetz?" That was a questionable name choice. Remy noted that there were other people there, but did not pay much attention at first.

He dug out his wallet and keys, paying for the stuff he needed and filling up the tank he had just opened. The boy leaned against his bike, now finally lifting his gaze to look at the people around him. There was a girl weirdly standing not that far away, and Remy couldn't help but think that this was like some kind of a scene in a horror movie.

Props to the Vampire who was able to hold her ground in front of an unsuspecting deaf girl walking with hurried footsteps to get home and take her meds. She was like a living limited edition of a bloody apple juice box that is sold in huge quantities but in rare areas. She was someone that vampires would live to kidnap her and feed on due to her disease. What's worse is that Marilyn, despite being so cautious, was not aware of the existence of supernaturals...she really missed out a lot just from being deaf. Just like now when she didn't notice her borderline hungry stare as she was about to pass by her. The irresistible scent of iron and blood that seems so tantalizing to the tastes of vampires, able to lick the air just to savour the taste of once in a lifetime. Coming closer and closer, ready to be served- and she could just tackle her any time now. Just right at her exposed neck slightly framed by her long hair, a perfect place to sink her fangs on and taste what could potentially be the best.
Seconds have passed.....and the deaf girl was gone..
Marilyn gingerly swept past her in a hurry to chase the bus, just a few feet away and about to leave. Her shoulder gently brushing against hers as her long slightly unkempt hair flew with the wind. The girl giving a few coughs a foot behind the vampire as she broke out on a run in panic to catch the bus, knowing that she couldn't shout at the bus driver to stop. "A-Ahhn....W-hm.." She opened her mouth to call the bus yet only a few strained breathy sounds came out. The scent of blood just lingering by from where she passed her...still lingering...until it slowly disappeared,,

Pepper had to stop for gas on her way to get coffee. She got out and reached to open the gas cap. "Ouch the hell?" Pepper looked at a small metal shaving that had nicked her finger. She stuck the gas nozzle in the car with a very frustrated sigh. She could hear others nearby but this day had her sick in her own head. She popped her trunk and heard a small clang as something shiny fell into the floor. "What the... is that a cross? Dad wasn't religious though? It almost looks like a key." She started a second more before remembering she was still bleeding and grabbed the first aid kit out of the trunk. She cleaned the wound and slapped on a bandage before going back to the pump.

"Well i'm doing my warmups with you aren't I?" Libya said with a small laugh. He knew how being the odd one out made others feel. It was why he'd strived to take the burden of being too 'odd' from others. He'd take the bad attention no matter how bad it got. "Don't worry about the others. They'll realize eventually that they hate me waaaaaay more than you. Then they'll try to pick on me. Im too used to it though.

She guessed she'd made him uncomfortable but at least he seemed to get over it, giving her one of those fake-bro-punches on her shoulder before he left. Blinking, Evie offered a sort of half-wave and a million better things she could've said popped into her head. Oh, well. Considering she'd landed on his lap, that could've gone worse. She glanced briefly at the clock that hung in the corridor and saw there was only a few minutes left of lunch anyway. Evie figured she could afford to be five minutes early to AP Spanish- she'd prefer that than reentering the cafeteria. Picking up her bag from where she'd dropped it, she slung it over her shoulder and headed to class.

As the girl passed her, it became unbearable. If she had been alive, Mars would've been dripping with sweat as she resisted the primal urge to devour. It was as if a feast had been laid out in front of the starving and they had been told to restrain themselves. It had been a long time since Mars had tasted human blood, (the guilt that came with it was often too much), and suddenly she was desperate for it, as the girl passed by her. The girl's shoulder even brushed against hers, her neck exposed for all to see. Mars's gaze did not fall from the girl the whole time she passed, breathing heavily even though she didn't need to. The highschooler started running to get her bus and Mars watched her, an almost rabid look in her eyes. Something innate and animal had kicked in; all she could think of was feeding. The girl chased her bus and Mars realised that she wasn't going to get there in time. Why didn't the girl shout for it to stop? It wasn't going to stop for her if she didn't make a fuss. And she knew one thing: if that girl got stuck at the bus stop, she was done for.

She longed to help the girl but how to do it without giving in to her hunger? In one of her less inspired moments, Mars elected to clamp down firmly over her nose with both hands and charge directly towards the bus. As she bolted down the sidewalk, one thought kept replaying in her mind: I'm an idiot, I'm an idiot, I'm an idiot. When she caught up with the girl, Mars used everything she had to stop herself from hurting her and instead fuelling her frustration into yelling at the bus. If only she could look the bus driver in the eye... She'd get them to stop alright. Unlike the girl, Mars was unafraid to shout loudly and managed to catch the attention of the bus driver. It holted a few paces away from them and she exhaled in relief. She only spared the highschool girl a brief glance, her eyes pulsing gold involuntarily, before she bolted back up the sidewalk towards the gas station. Mars couldn't believe she'd managed it but somehow she'd done it. She'd done it. The girl was alive and she'd catch her bus.

The further she got away, the easier it got to bare the scent of the blood. Another scent caught her attention as she entered the gas station, one of wet dog. A werewolf. Mars whipped around until she spotted it- another highschooler. They seemed to get younger and younger each decade or maybe Mars was just getting older. She found the werewolf boy was staring at her and undeterred, she stalked over to him and glowered.

"I could've killed her but I didn't," Mars lowered her voice so that nobody else would hear, her eyes bright and unnatural, "I wanted more than anything to kill her but I didn't. I let her go. You better remember that and keep your fucking mouth shut about what you just saw."

Without another word, she swished past him and into the gas station. She couldn't even remember what she'd come to buy.

Marilyn realized that she wasn’t going to catch the bus, her eyes widening in panic as she tries to hurry up. If the bus were to leave then she would have to wait for a few hours till the next bus comes, and to be honest, she didn’t want to stay outside any longer than she should be if she want to get better. She could have shouted, but she was afraid that her voice wouldn’t reach the driver and worst, she would have terribly embarrassed herself infront of the whole public. And thus she continued running, the bus slowly going further away and about to leave at full speed— causing her panic even more and instinctively open her mouth, about to shout ‘ Wait!! ‘ until someone beat her to it.
The bus stopped.

And she stopped.

For a second she thought that she legit shouted and caught the driver’s attention. Yet that wasn’t the case when she slowly noticed a presence right behind her just now. One that gave a cold chill down her spine, sending daggers to her skin. It was the type of gaze that she would be sure to avoid and be cautious of. One that screamed “ RUN “. She didn’t know what it was or why but the way the person stared at her felt like she could be killed or devoured at any moment.

The deaf girl slowly closed her mouth and raised her head up to take a peek of the stranger that mysteriously helped her. Her chocolate eyes showed a strained gratitude filled with nervousness as she did so. Only to stop breathing within that brief moment before the stranger left.

Gold....all she could see was Gold.

Marilyn couldn’t help but feel consious even more after that. Her gaze snapping back to the bus that stopped and hurriedly went back inside, taking a seat near the door before the driver closes it and starts moving away.

Thinking back, Marilyn could have thanked her— but thought otherwise since no one has ever stared her down like that before. She could have mistaken the stranger’s gaze for something else, but what’s important is that maybe she should have been a little more attentive on who’s around her after that......

Marilyn couldn’t help but pat her peachy glowing cheeks with her hands to cover it up before coughing one more...

Lisa, clad in a pair of boyfriend jean shorts and a off shoulder green top, pulled into the gas station, her father was in her passenger seat scribbling away on a bit of paper, he was so intensely engrossed in whatever he was writing that he didn't even notice she'd pulled into the gas station until she stopped, after which he looked up a bit surprised "We have enough in the tank to get home don't we Lisa?" Lisa nodded "Yeah but I want a coffee and a toilet break." His father clicked his tongue. He was eager to move into the new house. Her mother was at the hospital taking care of some paperwork so that she could begin work as soon as possible. It was like her family didn't know how to relax. Lisa parked in one of the bays and stretched her legs. There were a few people dotted around that looked as though they might be her age. A redhead was filling up her breathtakingly beautiful Chevrolet, She couldn't help but stare as she walked by. If the girl met her eyes, she'd simply give her a smile and say "Nice car!" before heading into the shop

It was a pretty grimly little place. There was an overweight and frankly uninterested attendant at the counter, a few shelves and a drinks fridge up the back. Lisa headed over to the snacks immediately and pondered what kind of chips she wanted. She eventually settled on her favorite, salt and vinegar, and headed to the counter "No gas, I'll have a small coffee too please." She said placing the chips on the counter. The man just grunted and made her an instant coffee. She paid and headed out the door again hoping to see the girl with the incredible taste in vehicle again. She was drawn to her a little, she hoped the redhead went to her school, she looked about her age.

"Hey sweetcheeks i don't remember paying you back for earlier." Pepper fried her teeth turning sound she glared at the guy. He was pretty buff so she wasn't sure if hitting him would hurt her more. "Are you actually stalking me right now? My last stalker had to get his jaw wired for a month." Pepper had raised her voice going to get some help with the creep from the school. The guy looked around quickly before trying to grab at her. "Keep your voice down or it'll get bad for you!" The guy said grabbing her wrist almost unnaturally hard. Pepper tried to pull free but his arm didn't budge. She smacked the guys chest and he leapt back. His skin was red where she'd hit him but she was too focused on his arms to notice. At the center of his new red patch was the imprint of the small silver cross Pepper had found.

"I see how it is. I'll catch you later... hunter. " Pepper was more confused by his comment. She looked at him funny and said. "Listen creep i don't know what you're talking about. You need to seriously back off." She went inside the gas station feeling his gaze still following her. When she got inside she shivered and glanced back. The guy had vanished but something told her this wasn't over.

Lisa had been about to exit the shop then in came the young lady with the pretty car. She stopped and stepped back from the door so that the young lady could come through but she noticed something... off about her. She shivered, visibly, not seeing Lisa, just like outside while she was filling up. She was distracted by something. Her curiosity overcame her and she decided she was going to ask "Excuse me? Are you alright?" Lisa asked her "You don't look so good." She commented, running a hand through her own hair and trying to come off as comforting. This young lady definitely seemed human. There were very few like her where she came from, but after being here for less than 24 hours she had sensed quite a of supernatural activity. I wonder if she saw one of them? Lisa thought to herself. She seemed okay a minute ago while she was filling up her car.

God, this was torture. Sitting on the floor in the cleanest stall she could find, Dylan said with her eyes shut, hand pushed up against her temples. An innucdeint involving loud noises and sickening scents had almost immdeiatly sent her into dangerous crippling migraine territory. So, here she was. Dylan hated this, and it was something she couldn't turn off, which is one reason why she hated going to school. Her aunt and uncle wouldn't let her online courses however, so she really had no way out. Because skipping wasn't an option if she didn't want to be skinned alive.

After a few minutes, and throwing up her breakfast and the snack she had a little while ago, Dylan walked out of the stall and up to one of the sinks. She had a feeling she was feeling terrible because of an upcoming full moon, so she should probably check when the next one was, but not right now. She turned on the sink, leaning down to get some water in her mouth so she could swish it around and spit it. She did this a few times, until the left over taste of vomit was bearable. "Stupid unnatural senses," She muttered, cupping her hands under the faucet, bringing her hands to her lips to drink some of the water. It wasn't great, but it was better than nothing at the moment.

She actually debated leaving, but upon tryingbwas hit by another wave of nausea. "Great," she groaned, walking back over to the stall she had been in. Sitting back down on the floor with a slight grunt, she pulled her phone out of her pocket, which was a bad idea in hindsight, but she was bored. Anyway, the faint sound to some random mobile game began filling the air, just enough for you to know someone was in there, but, eh, why the hell would Dylan care if she got caught?

It took approximately five minutes of Spanish before Evie excused herself to go to the bathroom. Of course, she got hit with the “you should’ve used the bathroom at lunch” spiel but once she mentioned it was a certain time of the month, her teacher let her go without any further questions. Upon walking into the bathroom, swinging the door open, she found that one of the stalls was already occupied; she could see that the girl was sitting on the floor from under the stall door. It was only after Evie had used the bathroom, washed her hands, and tapped each sink six times for good luck, that she returned to the closed door.

Unsurely, she spoke as she dried her hands with a paper towel, “Are you okay in there? Do you want me to take you to the nurse?”

She wondered if maybe the girl was having a panic attack. When things had gotten bad last year, (but before they’d gotten so bad she’d started skipping school), bathrooms had become her solace to get away from the world. Maybe they weren’t pleasant but they were at least somewhat private. Evie worried her bottom lip with her teeth as she waited for an answer.

Another girl entered the bathroom before she could say anything else and gave Evie an odd look as she passed her. Evie muttered something about waiting for her friend and returned to the mirror to check her make-up while she waited. She wasn’t sure if she’d tapped all the sinks six times or if she’d miscounted, so she did it again just to make sure. Once the other girl passed out of the bathroom again, door falling shut behind her, Evie returned to the stall door.

“Hi! Me again,” She couldn’t help letting out a small, albeit slightly nervous, laugh, “Are you having a panic attack? Because my therapist says you gotta take deep breaths through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Actually, I think that probably helps if you’re feeling sick too,” She leaned against the stall door with one hand, “If you’re gonna be sick, warn me because I can deal with it but only if you warn me.”

When Dylan heard someone enter the restroom, she turned her phone screen off. It was another girl obviously, but at the moment since her senses were her enemy, she couldn't quite tell what she was. Didn't seem human though. "I-" she was going to answer when someone else entered the bathroom, and she saw the other girls feet move away from the stall she was in. The room fell silent, for the most part at least as she went back to minding her own business. One of the girls left, and the one who had addressed her before came back. "It's not a panic attack," Dylan answered slowly, "Sensory overload...I have a pretty gnarly migraine at the moment." Since the girl in the bathroom with her didn't really smell human, Dylan was fine actually telling her the truth compared to someone who was human. Easier for a creature of the night to under stand than a mortal. Well, at least the sheer gravity of the migraine itself.

After a few moments, Dyalns eyes narrowed. No, the other girl in there was human, but she didn't smell like most of the humans there. Not a hunter, but not normal. Well, at least what most humans consider normal, she could smell something on her that wasn't quite right. But...Dylan grained slightly, "Goddamn migraine," she muttered, bringing her hands back up to her temples. "I appreciate your concern...but I don't think you'll be able to help much," Dylan told her, "I'll be okay in a little bit...or I should be at least."

Honestly, Remy was here for a soda and some damn gas. But nooo, trouble always seemed to follow him wherever he went. He didn't even actively search for it. At least he thought so. His personality was the one to attract other people who lived on the edge, but nothing too radical. So when this girl came out of nowhere and hurled a bunch of weird stuff in his face, he was extremely weirded out.

It wall started making more sense when he actually activated his brain. A vampire, maybe she was a newborn and couldn't control her bloodlust. Good thing Remy smelled like a wet dog to vampires, it probably didn't make his blood that attractive. Besides, you'd have to fight for his blood.

"Well congratulations Miss," he said with some confusion and pettiness mixed in his voice. It was a good thing he was there. Who knows what would have happened. Remy was not brought up by the same 'you must hate all vampires' attitude. It was more his human nature being against sucking the blood of living things. He was a vegetarian when he was human. He always tried to eat before turning to a wolf to eliminate the risk of him hunting some poor animal down. Obviously, it didn't always work.

"Gee what the Hell, who'd I even tell. My reflection? Everyone's batshit crazy in here. No pun intended." he started talking to himself under his breath, obviously still pissed about being yelled at and not having a better answer than just 'Congrats'. Whatever, he had the upper hand in here. He saw what he was not supposed to see, right?

Not that long after, someone's stalker showed up, yadda yadda yadda. Remy had good enough hearing to hear what your average human would not hear. He shivered at the word 'hunter'. He contemplated whether he should go and help, risking his own identity in the process. Pretending not to notice, he started feeling guilty about it. Remy took the key of the motorbike with him and that same old wallet, still craving that soda from before. Stepping in, he could smell who was like him and who wasn't. He wasn't particularly nervous because there was a human amongst them all. If anyone tried something funny, they'd lose the game real bad.

Grabbing the coke he had craved for days, he stepped in the line. He was not going to let anyone else get in front of what he wanted to do just because they thought they'd be scary.

"Excuse me? Are you alright?" The voice made Pepper jump a little. She was still having a huge adrenaline rush. "You don't look so good." Pepper just sighed and shook her head now daring to inspect her rapidly bruising wrist. "Some guy from the highschool has been bothering me all day. I handled him fine this morning but just now... he had a grip on my wrist like a vice. No i must just be tired from the day." Pepper said shaking her head and rubbing her wrist. She took another deep breathe and smiled. She was still nervous but the guy was gone so she'd be fine. "Do you go to the local highschool by chance? I actually just transferred and got my schedule today but i start tomorrow." she said during her dad's old cross in her pocket for the time being. After all it wouldn't save her as far as she knew.

"Um pretty quick i think. I don't run often but i get my exercise." Libra commented which was about half true. Libra did get some exercise by doing a lot of dancing but he had run the day before. It was exhilarating he had never run so fast before in his life. His poor shoes hadn't survived.

"Oh." Evie was disappointed that she wouldn't be able to do anything. It made her feel a bit helpless, a bit useless, though she figured that was probably not the right way of looking at things. She stood up straight, dropping the hand that she'd been leaning against the stall with. As far as she knew, she'd never experienced a migraine. They didn't seem to run in her family. And she could only guess what sensory overload might entail. But, as an afterthought, she fished around in her bag and came up with a strip of aspirin tablets. It was the kind of thing that she always tended to have on her, just in case. Evie was very much a fan of carrying things around "just in case". Her old friends used to marvel at the fact she could pull almost anything out of her bag like a magic track.

She crouched down beside the stall and stuck her hand underneath, offering the aspirin to the other girl, "I'll level with you here: I don't know much about migraines or that sensory stuff you were talking about. But would these help? I have them in case of emergencies or whatever and I guess this kinda counts. I mean, if not now, then when?" She laughed quietly, "This kind of thing happens to you a lot then? It sounds super sucky."

After she'd finally managed to shake off the scent of the girl, her head began to clear a little. Her senses, which have previously been entirely overwhelmed, shifted back into focus and she realised that she'd been standing and staring at a shelf stocked with snacks for way longer than any person should. Snacks. Haha. At least there was some humour in her choice of shelf. Snapping back into focus, she picked up a pack of chips at random and slammed them down on the counter with unnecessary force. Something had happened out there by the bus stop, something she hadn't been prepared for. A weaker vampire wouldn't have been able to hold their ground like that. She was oddly shaken by the fact that she could've lost control in broad daylight with witnesses, when she knew the area was crawling with hunters.

And Mars had barked (pun intended) at the werewolf, rather unnecessarily she thought now that she'd cooled off. She wouldn't apologise to him because he was a werewolf and to be blunt, she didn't like them, but she still regretted having an outburst like that where everyone could see. After making a rather pointless purchase, Mars wandered back outside, appearing much less dazed but still lost as if she didn't know what had happened. The werewolf must have passed inside but somehow they'd managed to miss each other, which she was grateful for. He'd seemed passive enough but she didn't trust that he wouldn't lash out anyway- werewolves and teenage boys are both pretty volatile creatures, let alone a combination of the two. Outside, a pair of girls were huddled by a car in conversation. Mars didn't remember she was meant to be picking up travel supplies until she was already halfway across the gas station. Too late to go back inside- she'd look suspicious. She could come back later.

As she passed by the two girls, Mars recognised one of them was werewolf and shot her a look of disgust. Maybe it was a good idea to get out of Cleora, the place seemed to be running rampant with dogs. The other girl seemed to be human but that didn't mean she wasn't a threat.

She smelled him before she saw him. Another one like her, she couldn't help but turn her head slightly as he passed her to head to the drink fridge behind her. She gave him a curious look before focusing back towards the human she was chatting with. The girl spoke of some stalker who had grabbed her very hard by the wrist. 'Like a vice' she's said. While the human was speaking Lisa noticed her put something shiny in the shape of a cross into her pocket. For a split second she bristled, but made herself relax. She doesn't seem to know the significance of that, relax, liz. "Well, you're in luck, I just transferred today as well. We can meet each-other at school tomorrow. I'm sure he wont bother us, power in numbers, you know" She added the last bit for context. Lisa was about to open her mouth again when she noticed a unfamiliar scent. Looking to a left as the door buzzer singled someone else entering the store she caught the look of disgust shot her way, and met it with confusion. Her home town was quite a small cluster of humans and an even smaller cluster of wolves. It was known as a bit of a den and no vampires were ever really seen there. Lisa had never really met one face to face before and her parents, who basically ran that pack, had never really told her about them.

Did vampires dislike werewolves, or was it just this one? She could definitely smell the dislike through the air even when the woman disappeared behind a shelf. Focusing back on the redhead she said "I should head off now, I've got to get home and unpack, but meet me in the parking lot before school if you want? It's always nice to start the day off with someone you already know at a new school, no?" pluss, she thought, this vampire seems rattled

"Sounds great. I think i'll head home too. My atheist parents seem to have been hiding some faith in the trunk." Pepper said pointing at her car with a chuckle. She turned to go get some coffee still running her wrist. She accidentally bumped into Remy and apologized. When she realized it was Remy she looked down. "Sorry for bugging you in the cafeteria earlier. I need to go." she said quickly deciding to skip the coffee after all.

"Nah you're sick with me for the year. St. Thee very least." Libra said with a laugh as he helped her up. He then started to jog slowly waiting for the kid who'd tripped Hanah. When the kid came around Libra tripped them. "My my a bad attitude and bad coordination? Guess you're all fucked up aren't you?" Libra said to Hanah's bully with a grin.

Remy tried to ignore the fact that the lady from before literally slammed her stuff on the counter. As aforementioned before, he was afraid of loud stuff. His hearing was pretty great, and everything just got amplified a million times whether he liked it or not. He still had to learn how to tone it down from the inside. Remy waited for her to leave before gently placing his things on the counter. He could feel someone's eyes on his back, and he had a pretty good guess which one of these girls was looking.

He payed for the soda and thanked the cashier. Remy noted that this person didn't seem to enjoy the job. Who could blame them... He opened the can and chugged at least half of the stuff inside in one go. You could say he was wolfing down the drink. He took a looong stare at the girl who smelled like his own. Remy had no pack beyond his dad, who was obviously the alpha. Could that even be classified as a pack? Probably not. He was desperate for someone else, especially after seeing how many undesirable creatures were parading in this place. Remy knew she couldn't probably hear his thoughts, thank God, since they weren't in the same group. He just hoped the look said something.

Just as he was exiting, he bumped into Pepper. The neat girl from before. She apologized for bugging him, and Remy instantly laughed it off. "Don't apologize, I was the one who left the place my tail between my legs after dropping a fork. I guess cafeterias aren't my forte. Thanks for bugging me," he revealed a tiny smile before finally getting out of the sight of this cashier. He still had stuff to do. The only way to escape this Hell hole was to surround himself with something familiar and safe. Remy wanted a band, and for that he needed members...

Lisa gave the human a little smile and then turned to face the other male in the room, who seemed to be staring at her long and hard from the counter. Lisa returned the look but wasn't too sure what he was trying to say other than he recognised what she was. She supposed she'd probably see him at school where she could ask him. Her thoughts were confirmed when she found out the two of them knew each-other already "See ya," She began leaving the building but looked back over her shoulder "oh I'm Lisa by the way!" Lisa said, nodding that the male as well before she left the shop and headed over to her car.
