Fantasy High School for the Insane

Elizabeth managed to wiggle her arm free, and had to bite her tongue to stifle a cry of victory. She then looked at the group of three, trying her best to give a small smile. "It was nice meeting you, but I have to go find where I'm supposed to be." She lied. Elizabeth gave them no time to question her as she was already walking down the hall. She gave a small wave over her shoulder before rounding a corner, headed no where in particular except for away from other people.

It wasn't long after that her stomach began to grumble quite loudly. Elizabeth let out a soft sigh. "But I don't want to be around others." Her stomach protested, getting louder as if throwing a fit. "Fine, fine. We'll go eat. Happy?" Her stomach gave off another grumble as if saying, "yes."

Arriving to the cafeteria Cody could feel his stomach eating itself he was so hungry; so in turn he loaded up a plate full of food and walked out to the large dining area and picked a quiet seat, alone from the rest. He finds people watching fascinating for some odd reason, the way they act is just interesting..especially when they believe nobody is watching. Cody is a weirdo. "This food is amazing!" He says to himself excited, then looks around to see if anyone was noticing him speak to himself.

Quickly making her way to the cafeteria Elizabeth scanned over the large variety of food. Subconsciously she began chewing on her lip, now faced with the problem of what to choose. She recognized the more simple foods, but some were more exquisite. I guess i could try something new, she thought. She wasn't opposed to new things and when she lived with her family they often did try new things as a fun experience. Deciding on it, Elizabeth began loading her plate with food: some familiar, others not so much. Once she had all she needed she set out in search of a table. Now this was a more painful choice, most of the tables were taken and by more than one person. I could always sit in the hall or bathroom. She thought, though the thoughts faded when spotting the man in the red mask. With one last bite of her lip, like a shove, she walked over to where he sat. "Do you mind if I sit here?" She asked softly, standing across from him.

Looking up from eating Cody sees the person asking to sit with him was the girl he saw talking to Red, Drake, and Kyrie. He smiles, hoping his eyes will indicate he really does not mind. "Yes of course, feel free! My name is Cody by the way, it's nice to officially meet you." He reaches out his hand to her, his yellow eyes focused on her reaction to the handshake. Can't be too careful, this is a school for the insane after all, don't want to set someone off or something, he thought to himself. She seems okay though. Once she sits down Cody asks, "Do you know if you're allowed to smoke inside? Trying not to piss people off my second day here, you know?"

Elizabeth stared in surprise at the warm welcome, though quickly regained her composure as she shook Cody's hand. "Elizabeth, and the feeling is mutual." She said with a smile. Carefully she sat down and positioned her plate in front of her. Her attention was redirected to the male as he asked her about smoking. "Well you wouldn't be the first so I think you'll be fine, but just in case," she pulled her fingers across her mouth as if pulling a zipper closed. "My lips are sealed." She said with a smile.

He chuckles lightly to Elizabeth's response, pushing his plate to the side. "Fair enough. So Elizabeth, have you taken any classes yet? Haven't had one myself but I hear they can be quite interesting." He casually leans his chair back until he accidentally leaned it too far and scrambled to save himself. Fortunately he catches his balance and saves himself from falling over, but in return he embarrassingly looks back up to Elizabeth chuckling at himself. "Close call." He says briefly. After a few seconds he reaches a hand into a pocket, pulling out a pack and a lighter. Naturally he lights one up and sits back, taking drags off of it here and there.

"No, but I'm glad to hear that I'm not only one." She watched as Cody leaned back. Her hand flew over her mouth as he nearly fell. She giggled softly after watching him fumble in panic. "Close call." He said, his embarrassment obvious even with his mask on. Elizabeth leaned on the table, placing her chin in the palm of her hand. "You know I must say, I love your mask. It really brings out your eyes." She added with a small smirk. She watched as he occasionally moved his mask slightly to take a puff of his cigarette. All she could see when he moved his mask was the point of his chin and his lips that held the cigarette delicately.

"Why, thank you, I'm thinking of making some modifications to it soon. This mouth piece gets in the way as you can tell." He says, a grin showing underneath when he goes to take another drag. People are complimenting my mask? He wonders to himself looking down in thought; it's strange to him because since being here people have actually been friendly to him. He looks back up to her and notices the green hue of her eye color, saying, "You have nice eyes." You have nice eyes? Who says that, man? He thinks to himself, believing his choice of words were foolish. After taking one last drag, he puts the cherry of the cigarette out in between two fingers casually. "Have you been outside yet? I was told there was some areas outside we're allowed to go to. It looks beautiful out there."

Elizabeth nods, intrigued by the discussion of him modifying his mask. A smile pulled at the corner of her lips seeing Cody grin. She was pulled away from the thought by his compliment. Her smile stretched as he contemplated his wording. "You have a nice smile." She replied with a soft laugh. She then looked down at her plate realizing she hadn't touched it. Carefully she began nibbling on a sandwich she grabbed. She shook her head when asked about outside. Turning to look out a nearby window, Elizabeth found that Cody was right. It was gorgeous out there, with the sun shining brightly on the green grass and tree branches swaying in the gentle breeze. "It is beautiful." She mumbled with a small smile.

Cody adjusts his mask, a habit he does automatically; he was quite happy he made her smile, he thought she as well had a nice one. He glanced back outside taking more notice of the giant white clouds, gliding in the blue sky and sighed with content. Since he was waiting for classes to start anyways he decided maybe laying out in front of the clouds would be a good idea. With that he stood up, saying with a happy tone, "I think I'm going to kill some time watching the sky. It was a pleasure meeting you, Elizabeth. Hopefully I'll see you around the school." He waves casually and walks out, finding the doors to the outside. Eventually he finds a nice, quiet spot on some grass and lays down, watching the clouds for a while. Drowsiness comes over him, so he decides to take a nap in the grass, his hood covering his eyes from the sun. (I have got to go for a bit, it was nice RPing with you. Hopefully we can again. :D )

(Hopefully so, it was fun c: )

Elizabeth nodded, waving back. His words ran through her head, 'hopefully I'll see you around the school.' A content smile remained on the girl's face as she continued eating. She had a friend. An actual friend, a person who enjoyed her company, and she enjoyed his. With a soft laugh she shook her head. Of all the things to happen at a school for the insane, making a friend on the first day was something I never expected. Elizabeth continued eating, smiling in the silence.

Waking up from his nap outside Cody gets up and stretches, looking around to see what's going on. Sleeping in the sun was so worth it, he thought starting to go back into the school. Once inside he starts wandering again, wondering if he'll run into any familiar faces.

Once finished eating Elizabeth cleared the area she had been sitting at, leaving cleaner than it had been when she arrived. She then exited the dining area, looking for something to occupy her time. Maybe Cody had the right idea. She thought looking towards the door to the outside. Thinking she had nothing better to do, she exited the building and walked along the outskirts of the building. She laughed softly, spotting Cody laying in the grass. He seemed to be asleep. She itched to looked under his mask, but jumped as he began waking up. She snuck off behind a tree. She let out an inaudible sigh as she slumped down the side of the tree.

(started typing and totally forgot to finish xP)

After walking around and seeing no one familiar he returns outside, he then finds a bench in the sun and sits down. After a minute or so of enjoying the weather some more he pulls out his pack and lighter lighting up a cigarette. I wonder if everyone is taking a nap, he thought while taking a drag.

Elizabeth sat behind the tree and closed her eyes. Close call, she thought. After a few moments she stood up and looked around from behind the tree. A grin splayed on her face seeing Cody once again. Clasping her hands behind her back she stepped out from behind the tree and towards the bench he sat on. "Back so soon?" She said with a smile.

(Will be back in an hour or so, shouldn't be too terribly long!)

He looks at Elizabeth, a smile showing when he lifts his mask slightly to take another drag. "Yeah, I apparently needed a nap. How are you doing?" He says to her; he was sitting in the middle of the bench, so naturally he scoots over to give Elizabeth room to sit if she pleases.

(Alrighty! :) )

Seeing Cody scoot over she down beside him. "Alright, how about you?" She honestly hadn't felt this good in long time. She had always thought that being alone was better than having friends- no one could hurt her- but maybe having friends wasn't as bad as she previously thought.

"I'm doing fairly well, I have been enjoying my time in this school oddly enough." He takes a long drag, his eyes focused on the puffy white clouds passing them in the sky. After a moment of cloud gazing he looks back towards Elizabeth a smile erupting beneath his mask, he was enjoying hanging out with her. Regardless though an overwhelming urge of curiosity comes over him, which is the question why she is attending this school? He wonders what makes her insane.

Evan looked up as 2 boys entered the music room. He said nothing and continued playing. @CALLA

She brushed a strand of raven black hair from her eyes, tucking it behind her ear, as she watched the clouds role by. "It's so strange being here," She began without really knowing she was talking aloud. "It doesn't really seem like a place for psychotic people, I don't feel trapped, or limited. In fact this feels better than the life I was living." She looked over to Cody, a light blush covering her face. "Sorry, I'm usually all by myself so I just think out loud." She watched him almost anxiously, hoping her sudden odd behavior didn't detract from his opinion of her.

"I know what you mean, I have been having a similar feeling. I feel free in a sense." He chuckles lightly at her apology about thinking out loud, he does this himself so he can't say much. "No need to apologize to me, I am used to being by myself. Thinking out loud helps me analyze my thoughts better." He says with a content tone; shortly after he puts out his cigarette and leans back on the bench. "Have you always been by yourself?"

Elizabeth smiled, glad to hear that Cody understood her as well as gave a logical reason for talking to herself. She looked down at her hands sitting clasped on her lap. "In a sense, yes. I'm an only child and I lived with my parents, but they worked a lot. So most of the times I was alone." She laughed softly remembering something. "I used to have imaginary friends; they talked me out of doing stupid things and always comforted me when I was scared." One thought stuck out in her mind. She was seven and one of the local drug addicts had come to her house. She listened from the closet as he screamed and tore apart the house, looking for anything that was worth something. In the end the man decided to have some "alone time" in her room before leaving. All during that time her imaginary friend comforted her, told her jokes, anything to keep her happy.

Cody followed her eyes, looking at her hands as well while listening. "Imaginary friends are good at doing that, I used to play with some when I was a kid. Some of the best times, oddly enough." With that statement it takes him back to his memories, memories like the time his father decided to get piss drunk and mock him for playing with his imaginary friends. Telling him even fake people wouldn't want to hang out with a freak like him. Childhood memories including his father haunts Cody, so much in fact he notices start to tremble, he couldn't tell if it was wrath or fear. Snapping back into the moment he stuffs his hands into his pocket, hoping Elizabeth didn't notice the change in behavior. "I hope you will find no loneliness here." he says trying to put cheer into his tone of voice.
