  Marishka is a rather mysterious person to those who aren't close to her. She is quiet, emotionless, studious, and sarcastic. She can always come up with a witty remark, specifically in reply to most of her brother's antics and attempts at humor when they're alone. Her appearance is rather innocent and feminine, contrasting greatly with her attitude of that of a typical modern goth. However, as much as she may seem slightly distant and anti-social, she's compassionate and loyal. She has a side of herself that no one is able to see, not since the disappearance of her brother. She's a recluse and sort of keeps to herself unless her brother was around, but even then she tends to ignore those around her.
  
  
  Marishka is the most mature member between herself and her twin, often giving her own advice to the him about various subjects, and generally staying cool and calm, even in desperate situations. She is, however, also more emotionally-restrained than her twin brother. She comes off as secretive and distant to those who don't personally know her. She's usually meditating or reading one of her numerous books when out in the school courtyard. Even though she is serious and cautious about her emotions, she's not heartless as many would like to believe. The reason for her emotional restraint is due to the adverse effects her emotions have on her powers.
  
  
  If her emotions become out of control, her powers can become erratic and spontaneous, becoming active without her will.   Her parents had been cousins, arranged to be married to one another after they fell in love with one another. It wasn't unusual for their family to marry within themselves, in fact, it was practically tradition. Marishka's parents had loved both her and her twin brother the second they were born. She was always protected by her twin, and she didn't mind that he stayed by her side to help her keep her emotions in check. At the time, she had to keep all feelings locked up since she had no control over her powers just yet. They became close throughout the years, training together underneath their father's watchful eyes. Both of them learned to control their powers at a very young age, being called prodigies within the Blood Drifters' Clan.
  
  
  When they were 12, they all moved out of the clan's territory and decided to make a life away from their sanctuary. Marishka, being beautiful but rather unapproachable, kept to herself and her handful of friends. For the next two years, she spent her time with her new friends but always made time for her now romantic relationship with her twin brother. Marishka had been aware of one of her brother's 'friends' intentions, but she would never have accepted such a proposal when her heart belonged to her brother. She hadn't known of the fight that broke out, the one that changed her twin, until a few days after it happened.
  
  
  Marishka had been upset, although not visibly, that he was going out of his way to avoid her. Marishka, however, soon discovered what he was doing, just in time to stop him from losing himself to the darkness within himself. It was around this time that their relationship took a turn in the more physical aspect. The young woman gladly gave herself to her brother, and she was happy to discover the day after that her parents had discovered a gift. It was a ring made of ebony and a gemstone she'd never heard of. It wasn't the gift, however, that pleased her, but the fact that her powers wouldn't react even if her emotions went haywire.
  
  
  Just when things seemed to be turning around for her, her brother disappeared. There was no sign of a struggle, so she could only deduce that he left willingly. In hopes of opening their daughter's heart, her parents sent her off to a school where there are no memories of her twin.
