BOOM! Our heroes are met, out of nowhere, being sucked into a smoldering, magic portal against their will! Once they regain their senses, they're met by bespectacled brothers, Basil and Parsley, who turn out to be the finest wizard in all of Vespertine (plus Parsley as an apprentice).

It is soon discovered that the apprentice mage, in desperation, used a spell his older brother had forbidden him from using, since it was too dangerous and could end up having disastrous results, as shown when our protagonists have been plucked from their worlds and forced into this one!

Of course, these wizards weren't just casting such finicky spells for no reason; they had been working tirelessly to find a way to save the beloved princess of Vespertine, Andromeda, from a curse inflicted on her by the Demon Emperor Galangal in an attempt to kill her off in an easy and cowardly way while stealing her throne all to himself, and beginning his campaign of bringing the surface realm underneath the control of the under realm.

The only known way of lifting the deathly curse is to drink the essence of the Blazei Flower, which, surprise surprise, only grows in the deepest parts of the under realm. The princess' advisors had promised an immensely grand reward for whomever brought back the flower. Knights and mercenaries and all sorts of people have been sent to try and find this mythical plant, but none had returned, which is why Basil and Parsley had been searching so feverishly for an alternative method, since they didn't want to risk they same fate the other adventurers might have suffered.

Right then and there, there was a harsh knocking at the door. A large and in charge soldier told the cowering mages that it was their turn to try and get the Blazei Flower, since almost all other adventurers-for-hire in Vespertine had failed, and Basil claimed to be the best sorcerer in the land. Basil and Parsley pleaded for their very lives, that is, until Basil got a bright idea: to bring along their acquaintances friends along for the journey! Surely, such a big party won't fail!

Before our heroes could refuse, the soldier agreed and left the brothers' house to tell Andromeda and her advisors the good news! Dragging these odd characters along, the brothers are heading off in search of the Hellsgate Dungeon on the outskirts of Vespertine, which was the fabled link between the surface and under realms! Who knows what kind of horrors and hijinks await them...

But, of course, nobody knew where exactly the Hellsgate Dungeon was. And those who happened to stumble across it, usually were never seen again.
Usually.

So Jasper and Parsley found themselves at a bit of a pickle as soon as they were five feet from their cabin door. Basil, the spunkier one who was keen on leading the way, slowly turned around and looked up at his younger brother. "Do you have any idea where we're supposed to be going?" he asked in a mumble.

Parsley shook his head, taking a quick glance at their hostages friends before looking back at Basil. "Well, we started our journey without a map, didn't we?" he mentioned timidly. Basil facepalmed.

"Great," the older mage grumbled, "Just our luck; those high and mighty soldiers love to send us commoners out on dangerous quests like this, and they send us off without even a map to show us the way..."

Parsley took off his glasses, wiping them on the threadbare material of his hand-me-down robe. His turquoise eyes gazed around as he hesitated to reply. Then, his eyes landed on the village-town of Vespertine, which encircled a sprawling palace that sat a little ways away. His expression lightened slightly as he put his round glasses back on his face. "What if we talk to Fauna?" he suggested. "She says she's seen the Hellsgate Dungeon before..."

"Not THAT crazy ram!" Basil groaned, pulling his indigo wizard hat over his ears. "She's off her rocker, that one! One time when I stopped by to buy some frog spawn, she told me she's touched the moon and talked to the stars! A nutter, I tell you!"

Parsley admitted meekly, "She might be a bit...eccentric...but she still knows apothecarian knowledge that only you and I could dream of. And sometimes she shows me relics that prove she's been to places she talks about, y'know? So I think it's worth a shot..."

Basil let out a large sigh of annoyance, before he ran his hands over his stubbled chin and let out a murmur of consent and began the walk across the lush field that separated the brothers' cabin on the outskirts of the village-town. Parsley turned to the rest of the group, and confided, "Please, just follow Basil for now. I know this isn't fair, but really, I promise that after all this, I'll find a counter-spell that will get you all home safe and sound-"

"Hurry up, Parsley, and the lot of you as well!"

"R-right behind you, Basil!" the young apprentice stammered before hurrying to catch up to his sibling.

Pyralis was vastly confused. Everything happened so quickly. One second, he was in the Gods' Spring with Hermes, their sort of base of operations since it was a hidden spot only the divines could find, and the next he was here.
He was about to blame this on Hermes, he loved pulling pranks on Pyralis, when it was the mages that claimed fault.
Then many things happened one after another.
Looked like he was going on another adventure. Against his will. When he had other important things to do. Ugh.

"Okay okay, so, again. Why are we here? I mean, why us specifically? Surely there's someone else out there that is a bit more qualified...?" He sped up his pace to keep up, and felt a sense of deja vu. This was surprisingly similar to how he felt when Hermes chose him as his champion.

Lucius V
--
Lucius blinked with a light frown on his face. These strangers were dragging them around with no map, and they had no idea where this Hellsgate Dungeon was even at. He was somewhere in Africa when this happened. They had no choice to find this dungeon after all.

He glared over at the others and shook his head. The man nearby appeared to be Greek.

Queen Gorgo
Spartan Queen

---

Queen Gorgo eyed the strangers and frowned, she had just been with her husband just minutes ago only to be forcibly going on this quest to this dungeon for some reason.

She hissed "What is the meaning of this?! I am the QUEEN of Sparta and I demand you return me to Sparta at once. I am not here by choice and i will not tolerate any deceit."

Carmen Sandiego
Where in the world is she?
CSDsquare_noText.jpg

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Carmen was used to dealing with strange and stressful situations; her training in V.I.L.E. had been useful to some extent, at least. But she wasn't quite sure any crisis scenario she had been taught quite fit the criteria of what was happening right now.

The lady in red had found herself in a cabin, with two of the strangest looking people she had ever seen. They looked like two people in costume, Basil and Parsley, but they turned out to be all too real. What she had thought was some sort of joke morphed into something that had the usually calm thief panicking, at least internally. So she had been whisked away from her world, because of these two schmos, all to save some probably spoiled princess? She had half a mind to beat them into submission and bring her (and, consequently, all the other equally strange-looking individuals who had been plucked from their realms) back to where they belonged.

That is, until a surprise knock on the cabin's door led into a downpour of information. Listening closely, the criminal gleaned very important knowledge- The brothers were being sent away to find a sort of flower that resided in this 'Under Realm'. They seemed frightened, she realized.

But then they decided to rope her and their other captives into this? Carmen had stepped forward to immediately say no, but she was too late. The soldier left to announce how everyone in the cabin had "agreed" to take up this mission.

One thing was very clear to her, however: These two brought her here, and so they were the only ones who could send her back. Even if she tried to 'beat them into submission', they probably could use some sort of fancy magic to keep her at bay.

So all the rogue could do was play along.

"This feels like some sort of Dungeons and Dragons bull..." the auburn-haired lady muttered to herself. What with the odd cast of characters she was brought to this world, which she had learned was called Vespertine, with...it felt like something out of a fantasy game, like the ones Player probably hacked in his free time.

"Carmen....come in!"

No, she was probably hearing things. She simply thought about him and now she was hearing his voice, that's all...

"Red!"

That was definitely Player! With a slightly shaking hand, she quickly pressed a finger up to her earring. How she still had communication with someone back home, she wasn't sure, but it was a welcome surprise all the same. "Player, is that you?"

"Red, there you are!" he said. He sounded relieved. "Your geo tracker went offline. I was worried something happened to you."

She tilted her fedora over her eyes, casting her blue-gray gaze into shadow as she turned from the group. "Something DID happen. I'm not exactly sure what yet. But I don't know where in the world I am."

"What?" Player asked with a sort of trembly laugh in his voice. She could sense his worry over the call. "But...you always know where you are. And with the Geo tracker offline...Carmen, what's going on?"

The thief sighed softly. She knew she couldn't just say, 'Oh, I was sucked into a portal by some crazy wizards who were trying to find a cure to a curse and now I need to go find a plant that probably grows in the depths of hell', because who would think you were sane after hearing that? Instead, after a moment of thought, she said soothingly, "No need to panic, Player. I'm not alone, and I'm not in danger. What I want you to do is notify Shadowsan, Zack, and Ivy. They'll have to fill in for me while I'm gone. I'll contact you again later, okay?"

Player didn't respond immediately. "Okay??"

"But...we can't do it without you, Red. You're the leader of the show, without you, well...we might not be able to stop V.I.L.E.'s resurrection."

She shook her head. "Player, come on. While I'm stuck here, you guys are the only shot we have. I'll be back soon, you'll see. I know you can do it," she cajoled.

After a moment more of silence on Player's end, he conceded. "...Alright," he mumbled.

Carmen's lips twisted into a smile. "That's why you're my player two."

After a rushed goodbye, the lady in red turned her attention back onto the crisis at hand. She hurried out of the cabin, her heels clacking, keen to stay with the others. They were currently discussing the best course of action for finding a map, and some sort of crazy apothecarian named Fauna while walking towards the village down about a mile or so away from the cabin.

She was about to speak up when some Greek, divine-looking person stole the words from her lips She spared only a second to marvel at him before returning her focus to the sorcerers. "Exactly. Why are you keeping us trapped here? And why not just put us back where we belong now?" she demanded, glaring at the two brothers from underneath the brim of her scarlet hat.

As she listened to the dissent of everyone else in the party, Carmen folded her arms against her chest, not caring about the pressure the two wizards were underneath to explain themselves. "And why should we even listen to you in the first place? After what you did to us? Heh, that idea is laughable," the thief added, her eyes narrowing at the now-sweating Parsley.

Before this all happened, he was living his normal life. A normal life. Wait, correction, he never really did have a normal life. Because before he had transported into another whole world, his ear drums were getting broken. How? Well, at first glance, Atsushi had just barely missed two flying mini glass portraits thrown by the one and only Kunikida who was outraged by Dazai's antics. His mentor's actions always got on the yellow haired man's nerves, and now the tiger boy had to suffer the consequences.

Kunikida had, just this morning, realized he was doing Dazai's work instead of the brunette himself. Instead, the bandaged, silly man had went out to do more "important stuff" in his 'free time' that wasn't at all free. In fact, Atsushi was getting tortured. When the brunette had returned, nearly the whole agency knew what was going to come and fled to their own quarters. But poor him was technically forced to stay while Kunikida scolded Dazai. But out of no where, the guy already in trouble had just so happened to make a joke that got the irritable man more riled up then ever.

Now, Atsushi was poorly hiding under the desk nervously, having to wince or flinch each time a clear hit sounded. Until all went silent, and an angry, confused mutter was mumbled. Atsushi peeked out to see Dazai was gone. Disappeared. And it wasn't long before he joined the other in a different dimension.

Marius Titus
Centurion of the 14th Legions of Rome

1730410106838.jpeg

Within time passed and yet another face arrived within the crowd, a Roman Centurion named Marius Titus who looked back, raising his eyebrows, suddenly within a confused crowd among the others. "What in the hell happened here? There's a lot of explaining to do here."The Centurion eyed the Spartan Queen and the other man who looked like he came from the Roman arenas and then moved toward the others, a Greek champion of the gods (Pyralis) and even another, a red-hatted thief who appeared to be talking to herself (Carmen)

"Maybe she is just really strong? I've seen stuff like that before."

Shirabe uttered from behind Basil, not really making any effort to make her presence known. In fact, it wouldn't be surprising if few noticed her at all in the chaos since they had been summoned here.

She was still in her school uniform, since she had been walking with Kirika when "it" happened. A can of coffee was in her hand, a odd choice for a girl her age, but something she enjoyed from time to time, and thankfully her pendant, glasses and LINKER injector were all on her person. Not that anyone would know. The girl was good at concealing what she carried as much as her own emotions.

Her frown was palpable as she looked at the duo of Alchemists. Alchemists were almost always trouble and this only continued that trend. Elfnein was truly a special friend to have.

"Using forbidden alchemy to rip people from their homes and demanding they help you is wrong. If you want to play out a fairytale you aren't acting like heroes but villains. Or the comic relief." *Stare*

The words didn't hold much malice behind them but it was clear she wasn't thrilled. The low "Jiiiii" sound that came from her while she stared may or may not confuse people. It was just a quirk, but could be seen as a evil eye or something to people in a fantasy styled world.

"Please, just follow Basil for now. I know this isn't fair, but really, I promise that after all this, I'll find a counter-spell that will get you all home safe and sound-"

Those oversized round glasses made Shirabe think of the other her. One without Kirika.... now she was forced to endure a similar situation. Stuck in some foreign place with no way to communicate with HQ since her earpiece wasn't working. Maybe the others would eventually use the Gjallarhorn to figure out which parallel world this was, but she was helpless until then.

Not to mention this Hellsgate place sounded dangerous...

Sipping the can of coffee that she had been holding since arrival. Shirabe let everyone else talk among themselves. She chose to take in the sights, the people here. Little things that would tell more than interacting directly. Kirika and her were good at that. Of course, in exchange they would miss the most obvious things.

Her arm wrapped around her to hold her elbow as she became lost in thought.

Gathering intelligence on their enemy is an easy task for the Port Mafia’s, cleverly called, the HellHound. Or, it should have been clear-cut from the beginning. Ryuunosuke soon realized Fydor may be a bigger threat than Fitzgerald. So, getting intel on him may be the way to ending the chain of hypothetical disasters once he gathers enough of it. He went off the radar for days combing every nook and cranny that may be useful to give an edge on their intended target, and something to report to Mori while he’s at it. Picking intelligence, using his ability and connections filled a whole mental space part of his brain, every little detail gathered may provide enough evidence to make their move while Boss Mori plans to protect Yokohama from said threat. However, what Akutagawa didn’t take into account is unseen forces intercepting in his mission. What started as a simple intelligence mission, now he’s whisked away in a strange world. He followed the oddly dressed men, brothers apparently, dressed like they’re from a high fantasy setting. It seemed very real, their magic was real, their wands were authentic.

He noticed strangers gathered outside, except a familiar face took his notice. Jinko is here? What? As Basil and Parsley explained their reasonings. The gist is a fetch quest for their princess. He shot Basil and Parsley a critical look, stoic, though bristled at their explanation to help find a flower on a hypothetical means to cure their princess. He moved past Atsushi, coldly stepping to Basil and Parsley.” I was doing something of greater importance that’s gathering intelligence on an enemy. I was in the middle of gathering intelligence on said enemy who is a bigger threat to my world. You drag me from my universe against my will just to help some spoiled little princess who I don’t know, probably won’t ever see again. Why me, why all of us? Shouldn’t you send people more knowledgeable and better qualified from your world who can help your precious princess than total strangers? Food for thought.” Like the others stated that Basil and Parsley have some explaining to do. Though, what the brothers explained further in regards to their princess only to make him angrier. His expression shifted to a rather darker tone.

Are they serious? He had better things to do than helping some girl he’ll hardly remember anyway. Basil’s words did little to convince him of the fact to even consider helping them, instead he opened his mouth to berate them more. “ What’s more is we are made to find a flower that may or may not be of help to her. Don’t you think going on mission based on a hypothetical with no map and little preparation banging around in a dungeon is suicide..?” His voice, cold as ice, mirroring his countenance.

When the white haired boy appeared within the presence of two wizards going by the names of Basil and Parsley, he was confused. Just-everything. It was all too much for a person who didn't like where he was previously, and what he'd been experiencing. To top it off, he was most likely sure he wouldn't like this place much after the two beings living in this world explained what they needed, and barely anything to how everyone around him got here. And he could've sworn a flicker of brunnete-

A pair of slender fingers had met with Atsushi's shoulders, leading up to a swamp of bandages and a beige sleeves. Dazai was gleefully grinning-but quickly changed that facial feature to something more...well, Dazai's faces were always unusual because he had too many that nobody could really describe it. Atsushi really felt bummed out, because by far, the two of them were the only ones there.

"Couldn't Kunikida-San also somehow managed to follow? I'm sure we (Dazai) are the only ones who know each other..."

But Dazai had seemed to think differently-know something that he was surely going to say in just a few moments wait. Oh please lord, don't have anyone I knew here actually...

"How narrow-minded you are, Atsushi-Kun! You sound rather gloomy for one that has a great path to suicide-not saying I'd do a double one with you, but it's wonderful to end your misery, right? Especially after all those scenes you saw of me and Kunikida~"

Atsushi sighed, using both his gloved hands to remove the hands Dazai was using to shake him forward and backward.

"As much as I'm pleased to see you safe, yes, indeed I do not want to be here. Most people here don't either, and I'm sure these 'worlds' everyone is talking about is where we're fun. I'd really enjoy it if Kyoka was here at least...oh how worried the agency would be-"

"Oh, but we're not alone! We've actually a fellow good subordinate that is quite acquainted with you. You 'ought to know who by now."

That snarky grin was something Atsushi really couldn't wipe off his mentor's face, and he was about to ask who when a vile person with a familiar coat was already rather 'stomping' to the front of where everyone was walking, where Basil and Parsley were. The undeniable rough voice couldn't at all soothe the absolute-not terror-...hatred for the being. No doubt-by all odds, all odds, was Akutagawa really prancing around here on the same ground he was.

Kinch -- Ajaw

High above the lush, whispering canopy, Kinich leapt from branch to branch, his every movement a graceful testament to his control over Dendro energy. As he soared, bright green sparks trailed from his fingertips, illuminating his path with a natural, almost mystical glow. Each swing brought him higher into the air, the world below shrinking into a tapestry of deep greens and dappled sunlight. He reveled in the freedom of the moment, feeling a thrill only the open sky could provide. Beside him, however, was a constant shadow—a stern reminder in the form of Ajaw, whose voice cut through the quiet hum of the forest.

“Kinich, you’re going too high,” Ajaw’s voice echoed, laden with annoyance and authority. "You know there are boundaries. Don't let your power get to your head." Kinich, however, could hardly be bothered with rules. His mind did not have time to listen to the small companion's-or, well, stupid creature bound to Kinich himself-rants about safety, even though he knew Ajaw really just wanted him dead. But clearly, nothing wanted him in the air for too long, because he felt his ability to slightly waver and Kinich had to forcefully settle on a tree's branch.

Ajaw couldn't help but successfully smirk in triumph, but he rolled his eyes.

"Do you want me to put you away again? You already annoyed Lumine, Paimon, and Mulani enough..."

Kinich held back a laugh when Ajaw had a slight glance of anxiety and anger, but kept a stoic face and crossed his arms while he settled into a much more comfortable position. He always preferred being high in the treetops like now, but he wouldn't be using his power so recklessly like he just did on normal days. He just felt slightly put off, an upcoming deja-vu forming a headache.

"Oh be quiet, you wouldn't even if you could! And besides, you put me away last time when I, the almighty-"

But before Ajaw could finish his iconic line, they both were whisked away far more worse.

--

Basil and Parsley had just explained themselves, but Kinich couldn't help letting a flicker of emotion pass through his eyes. He wasn't necessarily pissed off, but if this world could take anyone-or at least if the two brothers had at least summoned him without Ajaw, everything would've been so much better. But of course not, because the insufferable nuisance was already spewing out accusations at Kinich even when Parsley and Basil had took the blame.

So much for taking me...
