Fandom Heroes Rising

Blake had been staring back at the apartment since they had landed on the roof. It was terrible how someone could cause such destruction. It made him wonder why the heroes had left in the first place. After awhile, Blake turned back to Lucien and Ruby as he ran to her side. "Hey, you guy's okay?" He looked to Lucien as he made his speech and smiled. Lucien did have a point. being a hero didn't mean you always had to beat up the bad guys. It meant you had to protect those who couldn't protect themselves.

Ruby looked at Lucien. "You think I don't know? I wasn't whooping bad guys when that robot came to town. I was getting those people to safety." She said frowning. She looked at Blake. "Apart from my face looking like shit, I should be fine." She said.

"I thought you knew but you didn't seem at all concerned earlier about Gore earlier but rather more concerned about your own embarrassment." Lucien replied.

Ruby frowned. "I'm sorry I was under some kind of spell or something. I couldn't really do anything about it." She said with a frown.

Lucien groaned in annoyance, "I meant after that Ruby! When your mind was fixed. You were more focused on Blake than you were on Gore's disappearance!" Lucien said in exasperation.

Ruby continued to frown. "It's in the past now. No need to focus on it. After we get out of this situation, I'm leaving the team, I've already decided. I just thought I might help you guys before I left." She said.

Lucien sighed with irritation and stood, "Whatever. Finished, You're healed." He said before grabbing Blakes shirt and pulling him closer, "You try to talk some sense into her, she's so infatuated with you that maybe she'll listen. I'm done trying, she won't listen to me and she's going to get herself killed." Lucien growled before storming off.

Blake stared down at Ruby before he looked to Lucien and nodded. Once he as let go Blake knelled down next to Ruby and sighed. "Hey. Don't listen to Lucien, he's just a little..... angry. Ruby, why are you leaving the team? Tell me, I need to know why..."

Ruby sighed. "I'm not meant to be a hero...I'm a bartender..." She said, still lying down. She closed her eyes. "Everything I try to do, I fail at. I can't keep a guy in a cage, I can't stop a guy from filling my head with some kind of spell. I can't even walk in the opposite direction of a snake." She said, frowning.

The warehouse was massive with wooden crates piled up nearly to the ceiling. Connor smiled slightly at the thought of jumping from row to row of boxes, another way for him to get his rush of adrenaline. Shaking his head slightly he put his mind back to the task at hand. He had to find what he was looking for. Finally clearing the boxes, he noticed a small office tucked away in the corner of the giant room. A light was on and the door was open. Connor removed the bow from his back and nocked an arrow onto it. That was when he noticed the smell. Gasoline. When he reached the door, he pushed it open slowly. An explosion flames erupted from the room, throwing him backward into some crates.

Blake glared at Ruby and helped her up. "I was just a second rate scientist, and S.H.I.E.L.D saw potential in me. Your 'just a bartender', and Moon saw potential in you. Why don't you see it in yourself?"

Ruby sighed. "What exactly do I bring to the team?" She asked frowning. She pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. She stood up and dusted herself up and tugged on her fishnet sleeves slightly.

Blake frowned as well and stared at her. "I hate the way your acting right now..... Look, forget whatever it was Lucien said to you. He may consider himself perfect, but let me tell you this. No one is perfect. This goes for superheroes as well. None of us started our superhero career perfect. We made mistakes. And we still do. It wasn't your fault that Gore got set loose, it wasn't your fault that you were put under some kind of spell. We make mistakes so we can know what to do next time life sucker punches us. Now, are you just gonna take what life gives you, or are you gonna stand back up and show it who's boss?"

Ruby smiled slightly. "Thanks Blake..." She said. She then hugged him. "Now then, let's kill some giant smoke snake!" She said smiling.

"I'd appreciate it if you didn't put words in my mouth Blake. I never said I was perfect, far from it. I can only heal, I'm useless in a fight. And we're not fucking with the snake. That guy is powerful and we're not even remotely prepared. We need something like a hideout. Just give me a minute to think..." Lucien said as he walked over.

A few moments later, Connor opened his eyes. He was almost blinded because of the light the flames from the office put off affected the night vision in his mask. Placing a hand to his mask, the night vision switched off. Though he was winded, he pushed himself up off the floor and turned to leave. That was when he noticed the contents of at least one of the crates: explosives. Someone had set him up.

Raiden stepped inside as the shots went off, "Forget it. We'll finish our talk later, someone followed us both." He growled, pulling out his sword and a strange looking pistol.
"Fuck! My house! That's some big wood." Heather watched as the branch slammed into the doorway, too large to enter, but big enough to shake the house with it's force. "You just had to follow me, put a tracker on my suit, and now this happens!" Heather exclaimed as she headed to the stairs, looking to make sure he didn't see the code to open the door. As the entrance was opened, Heather headed down to the bottom of it while yelling of the predicament; "I swear if you try to turn on me! No, you're going to turn on me! I better get a warning, and not just whenever is convenient for you. The guy won't finish first this time! I'll get the first hit! And while we are on the subject, you better not team with him! I've taken two guys at once but not at all like this." Her voice echoed up the chamber, but in a minute or so it got louder and louder as she ascended the stairs.

Kiss of Death was now fully armed and ready, not bothering with the guns, but this time the sword and staff as her weapons. Many grenades and equipment hung from her chest and belt, but she planned to finish this soon. The most notable change was her personality though, her stance changed from an angry teenager to a strong business woman, her eyes (if they could be seen) were not glazed over by relaxation; but more so a calm understanding of the situation, and her voice was stern and not the least joking. Course this facade was just the false invisibility she felt in the suit, and would fade away as soon as pain from wounds sunk in during battle.

“Damn it!” he said. He broke into a full run toward the door he had entered through. There was nothing he could do stop the fire from igniting the explosives. If he had stayed to try, he would have been killed. Shaking off the slight pang of guilt he felt for not being able to stop the fire, he burst through the door into the alley. Thankfully his bike was still there. He didn't waste any time. He hopped on it, turned the key and sped off as fast as he could away from the warehouse. Twenty seconds later, the warehouse exploded.

Zion grinned, amused. He walked up to the door. "Knock, knock, who's there?" Within minutes, he was able to pick the lock. He opened the door, getting a good look around his surroundings. He frowned and pulled out one of his sticky grenades. "If you don't come out, I'll start this." Zion looked downwards, lifting his bandage. So you're underground.. He put his bandage over his eye again and dropped the grenade and ran like it was a game.

"Good. Now cover your ears." Raiden said with a grin.

"Eat this bitch." He growled as he twirled and pulled a device from his suit. As soon as he aimed it at Zion it released a constant high pitched sound that would drop any man to his knees as well as shatter his ear drums.

(Telekinetics can't block sound! OHHHHHHH)

Zion flew back a bit and covered his ears in pain. He looked up with his one eye and could only manage to say one word.

"Boom." The house exploded.

(Or the top I should say)

Raidens suit protected him from a majority of the damage, a few bits of wood hitting his back.

In retaliation he quickly upped the frequency to one that would cause him enough pain to scramble his concentration and force him to flee or pass out.

Zion crumbled to his knees, then fell onto his back. His body was more visible now and you would be able to see how young he is. He squeezed his eyes shut in pain. "Zero.. Ace.. Help.. me."

Raiden moved closer with the device until he was in range and a tazer fired from the device, tazing Zion.

With that done he shut the device off and quick made a small incision in the kids arm, implanting a tracker and sealing it with artificial skin that would heal the cut fast and dissolve when it was cut.

He then returned to Death.

"Care to talk now? I won't double cross you..." He said.
