"You are allowed to join us if you like." He pointed out, "You just.... don't have to." He chuckled quietly, putting the toast on his plate and grabbed some jam to put on it, munchign away

Carmen smiled and nodded, "Well this is really good." She told him and reached over, squeezing his hand suportively, frowning though when her phone started ringing and she pressed ignore for the moment.

Max smiled happily giving a small nod "I might join you." She said softly watching him eat trying not to stare too much at jis shirtless figure

Charlie frowned softly as her ohone rang raising an eyebrow "Everything alright?" He asked taking another bite of his food

Carmen nodded. “Yeah... I uh... I’ll call them back in a minute.” She muttered frowning some. “Just my brother.” She muttered and put her phone away. “Oh so.... that contract..... about the production company wanting to turn your book into a movie..... it’s a pretty sweet deal..... I’ve emailed you a copy.... your agent agreed with me.” She told him trying to distract herself from the ringing in her pocket.

he nodded some and checked a few emails then got up to go get ready to collect Lana having worried about her every waking minutes since she’d gone to her friends house.

Max waved goodbye to him as he went to get Lana while she got food for Dex and made herself something to eat as well. This was going to be a bit weird now with Lana there since last night but she would try her best to not let it affect anything.

Charlie nodded some at the mention of the movie "Mm yeah I saw it, have'nt looked it over yet but I will." He murmured raising an eyebrow as it continued to ring " I didn't know you had a brother."

She frowned shaking her head. “I dont..... we aren’t close.” She told him and tried to leave it at that, getting up and clearing dishes once they were done, washing up in the kitchen and calling him back, frowning when he was asking her for more money again but right now she wasn’t in a position to do so, trying to avoid an argument and eventually hung up on him, going to curl up on the couch with a book and a blanket.

Jeff smiled as he pulled up to the house and went to thedoor to get his little girl, listening to the giggles coming from inside the house and waited patiently until the door opened and he saw Lana run over with her bag ready. “Hey there pumpkin.”

Charlie nodded some taking his plate to the sink once he finished up and cleaned the rest of the pots and pans. He went out to her and smiled some going to lay next to her and placing his head in her lap "What are you reading?" He asked

Lana squealed happily when she saw her dad running over and hugging him tight while yelling "Dadddyyy!!!" She pulled away some giving a small frown when she didn't see Max there "Daddy? Where Maxxie at?" She asked

She didn’t answer him for a minute but her free hand went to his head and gently ran her fingers through his hair, eventually looking down at him. “A Stephen king.... Dolores Claiborne... it’s pretty good.” She mumbled just looking at the cover of the book for a minute.

“it’s her day off princess... she’s at home right now.” He told her. “What you don’t want me to pick you up?” He chuckled and thanked the girls mom taking Lana to the car.

Lana pouted some giving a small nod "Aww okay, I wanted to show my friends my new mommy. They said I made her up." She murmured as she walked with him "Mcdonalds!!" She squealed excitedly as they got in the car to go get breakfast for her

Charlied smiled some giving a nod "Oooo thats a good one." He said happily looking back up at her "Anyone ever tell you how beautiful you are?" He asked raising an eyebrow at her some

“No we aren’t going to McDonald’s. We got breakfast at home.” He told her. “And you gotta remember max is your nanny baby girl, she’s not your mommy.” He reminded her.

Carmen glanced down at him and smiled, “not in a very long time.” She murmured as she blushed like mad and looked back at her book again. “I’m thinking I might head to bed in a little bit.” She mumbled tiredly.

Lana frowned some and gave a heavy sigh "But I like Maxxie...she act like mommy...I wish she was mommy." She whispered looking at the ground "I miss Mommy..." she whispered

Charlie smiled happily at her shaking his head some "Well you are absolutely stunning and its a shame no one has said that to you." He murmured giving a small nod "Sure thing, its okay. I'll probably be to bed soon too."

She smiled at him and ran her fingers through his hair again, yawning tiredly and rest her head back on the couch, finishing her chapter then went straight up to her room to go to bed.

Jeff frowned some and pulled the car into their driveway, getting out the car and picked her up, cuddling her close. “I miss mommy too and she still loves you very very much... but you got me and you got your nanny to help watch out for you too.” He mumnled as he carried her inside.

Lana shook her head and frowned more "No I don't want a nanny! I want a mommy!!" She yelled hugging him tight as she started to cry "Why did mommy have to leave?!"

Charlie smiled making his way up to bed as well. He woke up early that morning taking a quick shower and then going to find Carmen seeing she was still asleep. He went out to the horses and smiled wide seeing Herbie there.

Carmen woke up a little later and headed out to the kitchen to get some coffee and smiled looking out the window to see Charlie working Herbie in the field, heading out to start on making the feeds and going through the normal morning routine with them

Jeff frowned some and held onto her tightly, rocking her slowly. “I know baby girl I know it’s not fair I know.” He murmured and sat down on the porch swing, rocking her gently and kissed her head over and over to try and soothe her. “It’s okay to be upset that mommy is gone.” He promised her, still rocking her

Lana sniffled some and looked at him with eyes that matched his "Why she leave me in the bath? Why did she die?!" She whimpered

Charlie worked Herbie before he took him back to the stables seeing Carmen there "Good Morning." He said happily kissing her cheek gently

“Morning.... was he good?” She asked him quietly and kept putting feeds in, yawning some as she did so. “What are you up to for today then?” She asked him, still half asleep.

Jeff frowned swallowing back tears as he rocked her still. “I don’t know princess. I wish I did and I wish I could change it for you but I can’t baby girl. I know you miss her and I do too but we have to keep going okay? Come on let’s get you breakfast.”

Lana sniffled some and gave a small nod keeping close to him as he carried her inside "Daddy? Will I ever get a new mommy?" She asked softly holding onto his shirt tightly for security

Charlie gave a nod smiling at his horse "Yeah he was really good, I don't have much to do today. Thought about going out to the store or something but nothing big." He explained

She smiled at him some. “Alright.... I need to go into town to get a few bits from the tack shop anyway so I’ll probably join you if that’s alright... plus I’m all out of cheese dip which is a tragedy so I’ll need to get more of that too.” She smiled at him more.

Jeff sighed quietly kissing her head “You might do.... it depends if daddy finds another wife or not pumpkin and it’s gonna take time.” He murmured to her.

Lana nodded some and kept close to him not wanting to let go of him "Daddy we go to watch Trolls last night!" She said happily tryimg to cheer herself up some

Charlie nodded giving a smile "But of course you can come. Oh don't forget I've got dinner reservations for us tonight." He said smiling a bit at her "Oh first date I guess."

He smiled and gently wiped her face with a tissue kissing her head “you did huh? You like that movie?” He asked her quietly

Carmen nodded and smiled at him. “I guess so... what kind of place is it?” She asked him “Jeans and a T-shirt or dressy?”

Lana nodded happily and smiled more "Yeah! I like Branch, he remind me of you. He was sad and lost his colors! But then he meet Poppy and she make him so happy that his colors come back! Just like you and Maxxie!" She explained cuddling into him more

Charlie smirked some as he watched her "Dressy, only the best for you darlin'." He said sweetly to her before he leant down and kissed her cheek gently "Had a dress bought for you, it should be in the back of your closet. I hope you like it."

Carmen woke up and stretched some, seeing the light coming in from the curtains and frowned seeing the space next to her was empty. He’d been busier than ever with getting more writing done and he’d not gone to bed until after her last night. She headed straight downstairs and into his study finding him already with coffee and smiled slipping her arms around from behind. “Hey there handsome... you were up early.” She murmured, a little worried about how much he was working himself lately.

Jeff frowned as he heard yelling downstairs waking him up and just stretched out, not seeing max next to him and soon realised it was max and Lana yelling at each other, frowning some he stood up and headed down there to find out what was going on. “Hey hey, way too early for all this noise what’s wrong?” He asked

Charlie sat in his study early that morning sipping coffee and staring at his screen. He muttered to himself trying to figure out how he needed to end this book. He had been working himself into overdrive as of late since he had gotten this book on a role. He smiled some as he saw Carmen come in and gave a small nod "I'm at the end,just trying to wrap it up." He said softly kissing her cheek gently. She had been his saving grace for this book, he was so happy to have her in his life right now.

Max frowned at Lana shaking her head some "Lana give it to me now! That is not a dress up toy!" She yelled trying to retrieve the very nice necklace Jeff had given her as a gift. Her and Jeff had officially started seeing eachother now and she was the happiest she had been in a long time. However Lana as of late had been pushing her buttons really badly and she didn't know why either. Ever since she had found out recently about them it was awful. She looked at Jeff as he came out shaking her head some "She took my necklace out of my jewelry box and I asked her nicely to give it back but she has decided its hers now and its a dress up toy!"

She smiled some and rest her head against his looking at the screen. “Your eyes are going square... you want bacon and eggs?” She asked him quietly, yawning some. “You kept my little note.” She beamed seeing the words shed typed into his computer still sitting several lines below his work giggling some and pulled his face to hers, kissing him properly. “You get extra bacon for that.” She murmured going to make a start on breakfast.

Jeff frowned skme and went over to Lana. “Come on. You know better than that.” He told her frowning some. “Lana do not make me stick you in time out.” He sighed heavily when she eventually handed it over to him and he passed it back to max pecking her cheek. “Mornin’ ... right... breakfast, why don’t I go pick us something up from Starbucks... Lana come with me pumpkin.” He told her and winked at max some, taking his daughter to the car so he could talk to her.

Max gave a heavy sigh and took the necklace back kissing his cheek gently "Good Morning." She murmured giving a small smile as they left. She went upstairs to get ready and put her necklace away making sure her Jewelry was out of Lana's reach.

Lana sat in her car seat poutkng heavily and kicking the back of his chair some as he drove "Daddy why you give her pretty necklaces and not me?!"

Charlie smiled happily and kissed her back giving a small nod "Well I gotta keep my notes from my biggest fan." He said softly before he got up and walked out with her "Right so I've got an interview tonight and then a book signing this afternoon as well. You want to come to either?"
