Self Proclaimed Queen of RPNation
~Lyra~
Lyra nervously pulled at the ruffles of her dress as people didn't immediately bid on her. She bowed her head and clenched her teeth slightly...geez, why was she getting so upset over this? All of the big spenders had already bid on the other girls, it really was no surprise that nobody was bidding on Lyra. She found herself thinking about being all alone, cleaning up the mess from the tea-party while everyone else went on their dates and enjoyed their Saturday. Of course, even if someone did bid on her, she'd be stuck with clean up...Lyra sighed. First, waking up super early to greet everybody at the gates of the school, going to classes, and staying up all night to set up the tea-party. If someone ended up bidding on her, she'd be going on a date and being up until midnight, and then cleaning up the mess of the tea-party, which would force her to pull another all-nighter. Could she survive staying up a full 48 hours without sleep? Should she just quit now?
No. She had made a commitment. Even if nobody bid on her...
"Lyra Connerson! One thousand dollars!!"
Lyra' head snapped up, her eyes wide. She knew whose voice that was...hell, that accent could only be one person. Yet she felt the need to scan the audience to see if it was really him. Her stomach flip-flopped when she saw Johnathon had risen to his feet. One thousand dollars? For her? She wanted so badly to yell back at him to save his money, that she wasn't worth that much - and then she realized there was probably another motive. Maybe he didn't want to seem cheap...maybe he was just being nice and saving Lyra the humiliation of not being bid on. Suddenly, all of the bad things that came after going on a date faded from Lyra's mind.
"TWO thousand dollars!"
Lyra nearly choked on her own spit. Of course, these sums weren't nearly as high as the bids before her, but the President was just amazed that SOMEHOW had offered so much. No. She was amazed that Johnathon had offered so much...and for HER!
After it was obvious that nobody else was bidding, Lyra found herself yelling, "SOLD!" before Mars or Blake had the chance to. She hopped off the stage, and then swallowed. Oh no, she looked to eager. Lyra walked a little bit slower on her way to Johnathon, and laughed sheepishly, "Thank you. I don't know what would have happened if nobody bid on me...humiliations galore, heh..."
Then it hit her.
Where was Miss Weatherstone? Lyra didn't hear the woman make her introduction, and Xavier was sitting at the edge of his seat, check in hand...probably a ridiculous amount that would top absolutely everyone elses. Her was leaning forward, staring at the empty stage and waiting for Kinya to come out...Lyra's eyes drifted over to the dress table to see the Headmistress's costume flung carelessly onto it.
"Oh no." Lyra muttered under her breath. The Headmistress had escaped.
~Headmistress Kinya Weatherstone/Professor Crysta Chime/Professor Liam DiFranco/Professor Xavier Caige/Professor Giovia Eriwind~
Kinya had managed to slip away from the auction while the other girls were up onstage. Thankfully, she was wearing her normal clothes underneath that abomination of a dress, so she was able to pull it over her head and throw it back on the table from which it came. She cursed it, even. That was a hideous dress, to say the least.
It didn't take long at all for the Headmistress to reach her office, as it was on the top floor of the main hall. She held the key to the room in her hand for a moment, running her gloved thumb along the elaborate designs...maybe she should have stayed at the auction. Lyra had been counting on her, and so had Xavier, no doubt...but she'd apologize to them later.
Kinya quickly unlocked the door and slipped inside, dropping the key back into her pocket. As she looked at, a piercing shriek that she hardly recognized as her own rang through the air.
Theodore, dead, a long claw with some sort of rope tied at the end of it...thrust through the little creature's small body. He hung from the ceiling, unmoving, only inches from the Headmistress's face. Kinya stumbled back against the door, slamming it shut as she did. She firmly held a hand to her neck to force down the vomit she could feel rising in her throat. It was absolutely silent, other than the occasion drip of blood splashing onto the wooden floor. She felt her vision blur as tears bubbled in her eyes. She let out a pain-filled scream and dropped to her knees as they did, covering her eyes with the palms of her hands. The acidic tear-drops rolled down her cheeks, hissing as they did. She clenched her teeth, trying to force herself to stop crying. Each droplet that fell from her eye left a scorching red mark on her cheek, and each one that dripped onto the floor burned a hole through the wood.
Kinya looked up, her eyes bloodshot and full of rage.
"Kinya!? Kinya what happened?!"
The door swung up, just barely missing the Headmistress on the floor. Crysta was silent for a moment, and placed a hand over her mouth...and then her head. She quietly closed the door, and slowly reached down to Kinya. She was about to place a hand on the Headmistress's shoulder, but drew back when she hissed, "Don't touch me! DON'T TOUCH ME!"
Crysta took a long pause, and then knelt down beside the hysterical woman. It might've seemed like she was perfectly calm, but really, Crysta was about as uneasy as she'd ever been. There was such...evil in the room.
"...who did this?"
Crysta didn't turn towards the Headmistress, and didn't speak for a moment. She hugged her arms and frowned.
"WHO DID THIS, CRYSTA?!"
There was another pause, and Crysta let out a short sigh.
"We must gather the other professors at once." she said quietly, rising to her feet. Kinya stayed on the floor, pulling at her hair as she gently rocked herself back and forth. Crysta quickly pulled out her phone, fumbling slightly with it as she shot out the urgent text.
To: Professor Xavier Caige, Professor Giovia Eriwind, Professor Liam DiFranco

Crysta placed the phone of the table, and sighed at Kinya once again. The Professor carefully sidled around the dead creature and to Kinya's desk, where she easily found a pair of scissors. Crysta easily cut the rope that was hanging the poor creature, and then she quickly moved it to the Headmistress's desk. Where else could she put it? Crysta gently ran her fingers along the claw that ran through the small, purple furred monster...she didn't know what kind of creature would have such a claw. The only thing she knew...was that this was meant to be a warning.
Crysta turned back towards Kinya, who was shaking far worse now. The woman could sense that the Headmistress had a very special relationship with the small monster...
"Come, Kinya. Let's move to the sofa, alright?"
Crysta practically lifted up the woman, who was no longer resisting her touch, and helped her over to the sofa. Kinya flopped down onto it, placing her head on her knees as she whimpered quietly.
"Crysta! I got your message! What's wrong!?"
Crysta spun around to see Liam bursting through the door. He was asking a million questions, most of which Crysta couldn't even understand...he fell silent as he saw the creature sprawled across Kinya's desk. He sucked in his cheeks, and slowly approached the creature. He touched the claw just like Crysta had, and shook his head.
"Where did you find this..."
Crysta pointed towards the door and said, "It was hanging right in front of the door. I was on my way back to the tea-party when I sensed something...wrong here. I was rushing upstairs when I heard Kinya scream. I came in. She was on the floor, and this poor creature was only inches from my face."
Liam was silent for a moment, and bowed his head. He turned back to face Crysta and said, "I don't know what kind of creature would have claws this big and be able to slip into a locked office unnoticed to hang a creature. Most monsters don't have the mental ability."
"...maybe it wasn't the creature who that claw belongs to."
Crysta and Liam both turned towards Kinya, who seemed to be calming down. She sighed and rubbed her eyes, leaving red burns on her hands. She stood up, and continued, "Maybe someone...or something took the claw by force to kill Theodore - I mean, the purple...thing...with?"
Liam thought for a moment, scratching his chin. He shook his head and mumbled, "It's feasible, but why would someone go out of their way to get a claw like this when they could use a simple knife? I'd say slaying a monster like this is a lot of trouble to go through to kill such a small creature."
"What if the claw means something, then?" Crysta interjected. "What if it's meant to represent something?"
Liam exhaled heavily as he plopped down in the arm-chair across from Kinya. He rubbed her temples, deep in thought, and asked, "But what would it represent?"
That's when Xavier and Giovia both burst into the room. Giovia was seemingly calm, though you could see traces of worry touching her face. Xavier was the same, until her saw Kinya. With a few long steps, he had knelt beside her. Crysta had once again turned to examine the creature.
"Kinya? Kinya what's happened? Y-your eyes..."
"Liam, do you want to explain what the hell is going on here?"
"Um, well..."
"What happened to Kinya!?"
"I'm fine, Xavier."
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?"
Everyone was yelling over eachother as Crysta silently examined the creature. They only quieted when they heard the Professor's quiet mumbling...
"...purple...creature represents...Hawthorne...claw...represents...Otherworld...rope represents p-punishment..."
Liam narrowed his eyes and stood up once more, placing both of his hands on Crysta's shoulders. She was shaking, probably even worse than Kinya.
"...purple creature represents Hawthorne, the claw represents the Otherworld's...monsters...the rope represents punishment...I...I..."
She repeated the words over and over again, getting slightly clearer about what she was saying every time. Liam silently encouraged her, standing right behind her in case she fell.
Finally, the words escaped her lips. The ones that left every single person in the room with a sour taste in their mouth.
"The monsters of the Otherworld will enter Hawthorne...a-and we will be punished."
