Alexander felt his stomach knot. Poor Eliza. She had been turned down by her family. Alexander knew that feeling. He lived it multiple times. The foster system was brutal. He kept her close, trying his best to soothe her. "Think about our baby, Eliza. About how happy you will be when you see his little face smiling up at you... How you'll have a family of your own. A child to raise and smother in love." Alexander kissed her cheek.

Eliza smiled sadly at him. "Thank you for being so loyal to me." she said, hugging him as tightly as she could. She had no idea what was to come.
