Thomas sat down in the kitchen and looked at his phone, no notifications. He wanted to talk to someone but who? Burr wouldn't talk to him about this, James was doing his own thing. "Ahhh.. screw it." he mumbled.

Burr was just standing there in silence when he got heard a small ding. He took out his phone and found that he had gotten a text message from Thomas. He started replying.

He turned his phone off and headed out toward the store. He remembered seeing a broken phone that was near a tree. It was probably Hamiltons, so Burr decided to buy him a new one.


He just had enough to buy the new phone for Alex. He headed off towards Thomas's place to see if Thomas knew where Hamilton was.


It wasn't a very long walk, just a couple of blocks. He walked up the steps and knocked on the door. "Anyone home?" He called out, hoping Thomas was there.

So Alexander decided to go to Burr. Why not? Alexander knocked on Burr's front door as the sun touched the horizon, embarrassed.

"Dude, no problem at all." Burr replied, sitting on his couch. "So I got you a gift earlier. Thomas has it. I didn't expect you to be coming over here so I left it with him." Burr laughed.

"You don't know what you're going to do about what?" Burr paused. "Alex, if you need anything. Anything at all. I can help you." He responded. This was just Alex being Alex. He thought that if he needed help, he was weak. That wasn't true, though, everyone needed help from time to time.


Burr raised an eyebrow and looked at Hamilton for an answer.

"I don't know what I'm going to do about this petition. About the sit-in. About my living situation. About Eliza. About Maria. Burr, my life is falling to pieces!" Alexander started to feel exposed and he wrapped his arms around himself and covered his chest as if that would help with anything.

Alexander rubbed his eyes as tears threatened to spill. Then he heard Burr say that he wasn't helping with the petition or sit-in. "Wait. You aren't gonna help us?" Alexander asked softly, ambiguously. He was fuming internally, but he wasn't going to let that show.

"No. If I help Thomas, you'll get mad. If I help you, Thomas won't show it, but he'll be pissed." Burr replied. It saddened Burr too. He really wanted in on the petition, but he had a personal life to think about. "That is, unless you decide to help Thomas."
