Guardian Angel Of Mine

Dakota smiles softly. "Do you..have any idea..how long I've wanted to do that?" She asked, her voice giving away the fact that she was nervous about telling him that.

Cole chuckles softly as he nods, "Probably about as long as I have..." This admittance showing his own nervousness as he pulls his hands from her shirt and simply rests them on her lower back, still enjoying the feeling of her body being pressed firmly against his own. "I love you, Koda." He says, his words holding more meaning this time than previously they had.

Dakota's smile gets bigger. "I love you too Cole." She said, her words meaning so much more than they used to, as now she didn't have to hide the fact that she felt so much for him than before.

Cole smiles, leaning forward he pecks her lips once more before simply wrapping his arms around her tightly in a hug, "Gods I love you... I love you so much, Koda!"

Dakota giggles happily. "And I you Cole." She said, her joy and elation evident in her voice as she hugged him back tightly, tears of pure love and happiness pooling in her eyed, as for once something in her life was going right again.

Cole sighs in relief, kissing her cheek before faltering slightly, his nose then pressing against her jaw as he breaths in her scent deeply, gently trailing it down to the pulse spot in her neck. Of course he understood why vampires would be after Dakota... Her blood, is the ideal... It's so enticing, enchanting, even... But he's never even thought of drinking from her-until now. The close proximity leaves him vulnerable to her sweet scent, his fangs beginning to extend as he gently runs them across his neck. Much to the boy's dismay, he can feel his eyes changing to a burning red shade as his vampiric instincts begin to take over. However, he still tries to fight it. "So.... Goood..."

Dakota gasps an moans slightly from his fangs, as small bits of fear spike though her body. She'd never had a vampire bite her before, or at least to her memory, and the fact that she had nightmares about them didn't help right now. "C...Cole..please." She begged softly, not wanting him to bite her, as she was terrified of what might happen.

A smile appears across Cole's lips, "Beggin' for it, eh?" He taunts in a voice quite unlike his own as the tips of his fangs now trail little patterns across her skin. His human side was just barely holding on, just barely protecting his love...

Carver can feel Dakota's fear, her terror. And knowing she was on the roof with a vampire made his eyes widen as he jumps off the couch and runs up as fast as he can, arriving just as Cole's fangs knicked into her neck, making two tiny beads of blood appear. "Get the hell off her!" He shouts as he runs forward and grabs the girl around the waist, pulling her away from the beady eyed vampire.

Dakota gasps as she puts a hand on her neck. "Carver..I'm bleeding.." She said, her face utterly scared, as she'd never seen Cole like this, which is what scared her most, not the fact he almost drank from her, though that was a close second. She hadn't even realized that she was in Carver's arms, or that her eyes were widen, looking at Cole with frightened eyes.

Carver nods, "I know..." He whispers softly to her, gently pushing her hand out of the way as he places his own over the two pin prick wounds and heals them with the same cool, calming blue light as before.

With the distance now between them, Cole's eyes slowly turn back to normal. He looks up at Dakota in horror, his eyes wide as guilt and regret flash over his features, "Oh my... Oh my gods... Koda, I.. .I am so sorry!" He stands and goes to take a step closer to her, but Carver gives him a glare and holds her tighter against his chest, "You. Will. Not. Touch. Her." He explains slowly, his voice deadly threatening to the vampire.

Dakota's fill with tears as she didn't want this to be happening, she wanted it to be a nightmare, that she'd wake up in the morning to Cole asleep with her and Carver on the couch. Dakota's eyes were no longer fearful, but they held deep sorrow and longing. She wanted to pull away from Carver and hug Cope tightly, telling him he loved him and hat it was okay, they'd work this or somehow.

Cole's eyes fill with tears, "Koda... I'm so sorry, I... I promise it won't happen again..!"

Carver shakes his head, "Cole. You are a vampire." He spits out through his teeth, "Had I not been up here, you wouldn't have been able to stop yourself from killing her. You've known her for years, you must know of the dangers. It was stupid to get that close. You'll never be able to properly restrain yourself with her."

Cole swallows hard, knowing that Carver's words, though spoken with malice and through absolute hatred, were completely true. "I know..." He whispers, bloody tears falling down his cheeks as he looks at Dakota, "I am so sorry, Koda..."

Dakota shoves herself out of Carver's arms and run to Cole, hugging him tightly. "Its okay.. I still love you..no matter what." She said, crying against his chest, as love for him poured though her. "W..we'll work it out okay?" She said, sniffling and doing that awful snotty, ugly cry as she looked up at him.

Cole looks down at Dakota sadly, hugging her back and kissing her forehead. However, they didn't seem like his normal hug and kisses. They seemed more solemn. And that is proven correct as he pulls back from her and looks into her eyes, "I love you, Koda... But, this isn't something that we could work out... You're special. Your blood is special. I'd never be able to control myself. And... Carver was 100% right. If he hadn't come up here, I would've..." More tears spill down his cheeks as he chokes on his words, "I'd have killed you, Koda..." He takes his hands off her shoulders, wrapping his arms around himself as he shakes his head, "I'm sorry... Maybe one day I can find you again and we can be together, but..." He looks at her, the heartbreak evident on his face and in his tears, "Right now, for you, we can't..." He leans forward and gives her one last loving, lingering kiss before running to the edge of the roof and jumping off.

Carver watches as Cole drops to the ground and takes off running. He then turns to Dakota, his heart twisting as he sees her crying, "Dakota..." He says, his voice unusually soft. He doesn't know what to say, really.

Dakota bites her lip as she doesn't dare look at him, pain, sorrow and numbness going though her body as she wrapped her arms around herself. "Leave me alone.." She said, her voice very soft, week and frail as she took off running downthe stairs and into her room, locking the door behind her as she started sobbing then slicing up her arm with the knife she kept in her boot. At this point she didn't care how far she went, how many or how deep, as she'd just lost everything that ever mattered to her.

Carver can feel Dakota's emotions and he immediately becomes worried as he smells blood. He rushes down the stairs and starts banging on her door, "Dakota!!" His voice was panicked and worried, "Dakota, open the door!" He tries jiggling the door knob, cursing that it's locked. "Open the door, now!" He shouts, his eyes actually filling with tears as he hears her sobbing. His chest twists painfully, feeling like someone was sitting on his lungs as he tries to breathe through the worry of what she may be doing to herself. "Please!"

Dakota continues to sob as she moves from one arm to the other, lots of blood and cuts everywhere. "Go away!" She yells at him, pain evident in in her voice.

Carver continues banging on the door, "No, Dakota!" His voice sounds determined, but still worried. He finally realizes she truly won't open the door, and takes a deep breath before slamming his shoulder against it, breaking the lock as he rushes into the room. He kneels down beside her and rips the knife out of her hands. he quickly pulls off his shirt and tears it in half, wrapping one half tightly around her left arm to stop the bleeding, and the other half around her right for the same reason. He then pulls her tightly against his chest, "Shh... It's okay, Dakota..." His voice is soft, caring as he strokes her hair gently.

Dakota continues to cry and sob against his chest. "Nothing....is okay..I just lost. Everything..all because of what I am.." She said between her broken hearted sobs, as she didn't even feel the pain in her arms, she simply felt sorrow and numb.

Carver shakes his head, holding her a bit tighter, "No, Dakota... It's not because of you. It's because of what he is. And you haven't lost everything, hmm? I'm still here, aren't I?"

Dakota shakes her head. "You're only here because you have to be..you don't care about me..that much is obvious so just let me die.." She said softly, her sobs slowly stopping as she was becoming even more numb.

Carver shakes his head, holding her even tighter, "If I didn't care, I would let you die! Please, Dakota..." He leans his forehead against hers, looking deep in her eyes, "I couldn't dream of letting you die..."

Dakota closes her eyes. "Why do you all of a sudden care about me?" Her voice showing her was getting weaker by the second.

Carver smirks, standing up he slaps her hard in the cheek, allowing her head to slam against the counter, "Little bitch! You fuckin' fell for it?!"

And with that, Dakota blacked out, but awoke in the morning of the next day. Her heart was pounding and she shot up out of bed and looked around then down at her arms, they were..fine? Then she looked beside her to see a sleeping Cole, and she teared up and placed the back of her hand on his face, making sure he was really there, and he was. A few tears spilled over onto her cheeks and dripped onto his face, though her heart still raced.
