1. An opponent is considered defeated via knockout for a ten-count or submission.

2. All Fighting Styles are welcome and while weapons are not prohibited, the use of firearms in an officially sanctioned match will result in disqualification.

3. Death can sometimes be an unfortunate reality due to the intensity of these fights, however purposefully aiming to kill your opponent will result in disqualification.

4. Each round may be subject to additional rules, set by the tournament's generous benefactors.

The Four Principal Markets
The Four Heavenly Kings of the Magna Mafia have each divvied off a portion of the organization to manage. Each one holds equal power and importance to keeping the Magna Mafia afloat, and although backstabbing power plays are common amongst the four, the balance of power has never once wavered. ...Or if it has, it's certainly a well-kept secret.

Banking and Commerce
They say life is full of give and take and the members of the Magna Mafia have taken as much from the world as they think they deserve. And as they've taken so much, so too must they give. The member of the Kings in charge of this Principal, is not the richest for the Four are allegedly equal in wealth, but even while operating from the shadows, they appear to have the most status. Like most of the Four, their identity is not publicly known, but anyone who knows anything about the inner workings of the criminal underworld knows that this King has in a large portion of legitimate businesses, healthcare facilities, charities, and banks. Probably someone who started well off, or perhaps just an individual who is extremely financially savvy.

Whatever the case may be, the actual criminal operations of this division are largely unknown though there is, without a doubt a large amount of money laundering involved. Just tracing where the money has been coming from has alluded law enforcement, although perhaps the reason for that is difficult considering just how many businesses that help run the world are held at the whims of this King.

Insurance Fraud and Racketeering
The one market Banking and Commerce doesn't have its hands on is the housing market. Worldwide there are a large number of insurance agencies, legitimate on the surface, but with phony credentials. All operate under the same umbrella but the larger scam operation they all fold into is near untraceable. It is said that this Principal was once in danger of falling by the wayside compared to the others, but five years ago, it suddenly hopped back on track. Rumor is whatever King that had been running it into the ground had been offed and their successor proceeded to save this division from its downward spiral.

This is perhaps the second most notorious of the Four Principals due to the sheer amount of lives ruined by its ongoing rackets. The Protection Rackets target businesses, often small ones not protected by Banking and Commerce while the Numbers Rackets supply many seedy areas of the world with illegal casinos. Those entrapped in either of these schemes often end up poor and those that are too poor to pay up...well, any number of things could happen to them depending on just which crime lord they have to answer to...

The Sex Industry
While not as notorious in the eyes of the law as its counterparts, this Prinicipal's operations are some of the most sought after...for obvious reasons. During the thirty or so years the Magna Mafia has been in power, this Principal is the one that has undergone the most changes. Due to his age, the King in charge of running it, is obviously not the first to do so. He is without a doubt the most affable and public of the four, the notorious ladykiller, Carlos Cassanova, known in some circles as The Pleasure King. It was he who saw profit in the well-oiled machine that the Red Light districts of Asia used to be and took it upon himself to organize them all under his thumb and make them a worldwide experience.

Bathhouses, massage parlors, and brothels had seen a surge around the world under his thumb, but due to his rather lax attitude towards day-to-day operations, this Principal is currently the most unstable and chaotic. Power plays within its ranks are often a daily affair and Carlos is either none the wiser, or doesn't particularly care what goes on behind the scenes. And neither do the other Kings as long as there's a profit. And sex sells after all.

Arms Deals
War is, unfortunately, a very profitable market for the Magna Mafia. While it is a staple of the conglomerate, it is the only Principal that has consistently been eyed with wariness since the inception of the Four Heavenly Kings. The King in charge of this operation skirts the line the most, sometimes operating in regions the others have dealings in. But things never come to blows as all money lost is made up in the end. From arms deals to instigating conflict, this operation is one that excels in subterfuge. It has to, given the risks it takes.

It is rumored that the King in charge of this Principal is the same one running it from the very beginning. There is a certain consistency in how it operates. Finely tuned with little to no mistakes made that could jeopardize it. This is undoubtedly the division drenched in the most blood. Some say there is a massive stockpile of weapons held at its main base of operations, though whatever purpose this King could have for such a thing is unknown...

The Venue
While it is long known that the location of the 30th Great Ganbatte Tournament would be located somewhere in South America, there were many rumors as to just which nation would host it. Well wonder no more, fight fans! The location has been decided upon after much discussion amongst the GG staff! Enjoy your all-expenses paid trip to scenic Ecuador!!! Your planes will arrive at The Eloy Alfaro International Airport, and be driven to the city of Manta where the preliminaries will take place! From there you will each be handed a GG card. Guard these cards with your life as they will be your literal mealtickets all throughout the tournament!

Everything from food to hotel accommodations will be taken care of by this card, but it's up to you where you stay!

Regarding the Preliminaries
This year we have gathered around 400 Contestants! To narrow things down, the prelims will be a free-for-all! All you have to do is initiate a fight and once you do, the official match begins! As the rules say a KO or submission guarantees your victory, though all fighters are allowed tactical retreats if they deem it necessary. But if you do, make sure it's flashy! The cameras catch everything and we don't want anyone to disappoint the fans at home!

As for the losers, they are allowed admission to the local medical facilities, fully covered by their GG cards. After being discharged, you are allowed two full days to continue using the card as you wish until you are driven back to the airport! Ain't our hosts generous?
But a word of warning...Anyone caught interfering with the tournament after elimination will be met with immediate deportation!

Regarding the First Round
Now I know what you're thinking? Prelims are over already? 100 contestants have been ousted on the path to determine the world's greatest warrior but why are there so many left...well the Ganbatte Tournament staff decided to do something a little fun to shake up the competition and that's why we're shaking up the format! A team tournament! That's right. While there's still gonna be only one winner in the end, you'll have to join forces with some of the heated competition! 10 people to a team and once those are all formed and registered, we'll decide the blocks!

But keep in mind, we're feelin' GENEROUS this year. And because of that, there'll be a secret point system! That means those who show out, perform the best and kick the most asses may have a place in the next round! So bring your A-game! Give your opponents no quarter! And trust your teammates....for now!​
