You are the first person I have met that doesn't like it. All my friends, all of them, are confused and perplexed by my distinct aversion. They all enjoy it, even my husband, so I read all the spoilers so they can talk to me about it if they desire. And then they can question me for the tenth time why I don't like it.
Yeah. I'm in the same boat. I also gave it a fair chance and honestly tried to like it. I just couldn't.

EDIT: My wife really liked it, which was weird because she doesn't normally like fantasy things.

I've never seen or read GoT. I don't like the genre, and I don't like long and complex stories.

I too am not a fan of game of thrones. I thought I was the only one. I feel like I found an anti-GoT support group

I usually like fantasy, but it's a little too dark of a story for my tastes. That being said, I do find the male actors in that show (and some of the women) easy on the eyes and would almost watch it for that. Almost. I taunt most of my friends and ask them if their favorite character has died yet since they all have one they are so attached to they watch the show for it, and would stop watching if they did die, and they realize that same character could die. I mean, it's G.R.R. Martin.

I'm more stoked to see Brandon Sanderson at DragonCon this year. <3

latest

I have never seem GoT and honestly, I don't think I will any time soon because I have loads of more interesting and appealing things to see first xD

Now, Doctor Who is another completely different story~~~ OWO

So, if I may ask ... What is the goal of this roleplay?

It's not really about re-population, is it?
Is that genuinely the end goal of this roleplay? The most ideal outcome, for the characters, is to repopulate?

You may certainly ask away anything that you please!

The IC goal is to survive. Humanity is at its end and it is up to these survivors to revive the human race. A mysterious race of cosmic beings came to the survivors in a doomed Earth and have offered them a chance at salvation. To find a new planet and start again. Along the way on our exodus, we will explore the galaxy and try survive hunger, thirst, and each other. We will develop bonds with our dragons and with our fellow survivors. No. We may not all like each other, but we are uniting for a single purpose. There will be bruises and tears. There will be fights and shouting matches. Sacrifice and hope. There will many things between now and the endgame.

We are to find a planet that we can flourish on. To make it our home.

Well considering that there are currently only 13 earthlings left alive, and humans don't grow on trees, and that we can't exactly carry a cloning and genetics lab in our back pocket... it is either repopulation or extinction. And we would obviously stop before things break the rules. This is not, I repeat -NOT- an erotic roleplay. Nor do we want the focus to be on "oh hey let's get laid".

This is a survival rp. Where humanity will test it's wits and mettle. This is about dragons from space and the incredible journey our survivors will go through and the sacrifices the make. This is about social interactions between all sorts of personalities and exploring world's that they could not imagine. To explore all sorts of topics and issues. To unify and put needs before desires. This roleplay is, quite simply, about the journey.

Will there be mature themes? Probably yes. But they will be handled maturely, I will make sure of that. In this roleplay there will not be limits of political or social issues. The world as we know ot is dead. If you are easily offended by in character personalities and dialougue, this rp probably will not be for you. And effort will be made to ensure that in OOC, we are a friendly and communicative bunch. We are all here to have fun.

And gosh darnit, dragons in space.

O'kay, so here's my concern: "Humanity is at its end and it is up to these survivors to revive the human race."

But what if they don't? What if they decide against that? I mean it isn't so much of a far-fetched idea, that these kids who have only managed to survive through the war and afterwards an apocalypse, has left them feelings like "What exactly is normal?". Half of these people are children, and never have they once got to see the world for what it truly was. They grew up around the time the world decided to go to shit.

So to what, do they owe this world that has forsaken them? And for what? To repopulate with people who they barely even know.

Their minds are in the stars, where dragons and worlds are awaiting for adventure. If it were me, I wouldn't bother with trying to repopulate, there's going to be worlds that are going to hold humanoid beings, but they will see us as aliens, see us as threat for what we really are. We come with dragons, creatures that are probably not even of their world.

Yes, we are going to struggle and I really like that ideology for this roleplay. So when some of you decline the prospect of having antagonist(s) entirely, or continue to reiterate how detrimental the loss of one of the thirteen characters would be; it raises an interesting question.

What binds our characters together, other than the obligation to continue their species?

The dragons, of course, who see it in their best interest to help humankind. Yet, for what reason? The leviathans were forced from Earth many years ago, and are returning to its destruction. They should have no reason to want to help mankind. Ignoring even that aspect, what is the significance of dragons (compared to another form of travel) if they’re simply going to be used for transportation to the next world for our humans to take over, copulate, and ultimately destroy?

The whole concept in question here is.. it seems like the whole point of the dragons is just, "Hey! Let me take you somewhere safe to have sex!"

'Humanity is at its end and it is up to these survivors to revive the human race'

Revive does not necessarily mean keep the population going. All of these people have been surviving as a world comes to it's collapse but they have no longer been truly living. Sometimes reviving is find life lost, not creating new life.

This Roleplay is about an adventure that 13 people who were lucky enough to survive get to go on to actually live again. Whether they make more little humans or they enjoy the years they have left to live a life of adventure that's up to the characters to decide.

And though some characters may be loners, the average human is a social animal. Though the dragons are amazing companions, a lot of people need other people around to be happy. Not everyone, mind, but most people do prefer other human company. And the bonds that are built when going through difficult times and misery are strong and can make even enemies tolerate one another. At least for a time.

So... instead of trying to tear this rp apart why don't you add an option of what you'd like to see done or better yet, answer your own questions?

We're here to have fun. Our characters get badass dragons and we'll find out later one why these humans got to be saved. For all we know, it could literally be because humans are a delicacy and the great dragon wanted to eat them ;D or it could be a last thought of pity. Who knows, but you know, that is'nt entirely the point. The oint of this rp is to have fun, and the creativity pieced together here doesn't need perfect logic to define it.

Humans minds are finite so we cannot understand the infinite. So if you're going to question the great dragon, do it on your own time but seriously, stop treating this rp as if it's done something wrong.

Then you obviously aren't looking at this roleplay right. These dragons are going to be partners, companions, and friends. They're going to be a last chance for the humans to live. It's not some convoluted 'repopulate the world' as you and Nai are making it out to be. If this is how you're seeing things, I really don't think either of you are a good match for this rp.

I was viewing the whole RP as an exploration RP, cause won't we be finding Aliens to hang out with, exploring worlds, finding out that cute little bunny thing is actually the deadliest alien in the galaxy. That sort of thing.

Revive, by definition is “restore to life or consciousness.” So to say that, from context, “... keep the population going,”, that’s exactly what it means. Your reply is rather dumbfounding, especially because my previous post was an explanation of the “option we would like to add.” This was our attempt of elaborating our idea at having an individual perspective. You’re taking my writing out of context and assuming it’s provocative, when it truly wasn’t mine (our foxtails’) intention.

“And though some characters may be loners,” as you say, ours are not. There’s a fine line between “passive aggression” and being a “loner” as a character. Loners prefer solitude, while passive aggression is catered through insecurities, uncertainties, and trepidation for what lies ahead.

In retrospect, I am questioning “the great dragon” on what actually is my own time and like everyone-else, am simply trying to have my questions answered; so that if my character is accepted, I understand what I’m getting myself into. Many roleplays become inactive because players lose interest from predictability, or because they didn’t realize the direction a roleplay was taking before they signed up (especially if the gm hadn’t posted a definite plot). If anything, assuring that you don’t have people who leave an RP, is defined by your ability to convey ideas.

Space dragons are the most important aspect, and why everyone is really here, so you can’t blame us for questioning the structure of the roleplay. Clarity means answering “Hey, the roleplay is more about the journey, and repopulation is an aspect of the end of the roleplay. It’s something that we won’t be focusing on.” rather than “Hey, everyone has space dragons, but after we finish the initial conflicts, we will spending a lot of time on the method of effective repopulation.”

You single-handedly turned a civil disagreement into a personal attack, and if anything you’re putting words into our mouths. Perhaps new ideas from new members, are what can assure the success and enjoyment of this reboot.
