Akira felt her cheeks darken in color, her mind drawing a blank. She normally didn't have people talking to her, let alone giving her compliments. She placed a hand on her cheek, trying to calm down. "Thanks." She managed to say, blinking a few more times. The silence was no longer awkward to her, it just made her blush more.

Robert walked faster for a moment, then swiveled on his toes to stop in front of Akira, "No... I... I mean... you, " he struggled a moment to find the right words, "I don't know why people don't talk to you much, I think you're a fantastic and beautiful person; more people should think and act like you... if they did, maybe I wouldn't think the way I do..."

Akira blushed even darker. "Thanks. No one ever bothers to say things like that to a girl who doesn't talk to others that much." she said, her cheeks seemingly on fire. She shuffled her feet, her gaze meeting her toes out of embarrassment. She really wasn't used to getting compliments like that from anyone.

"Well... they should," Robert tried to look into Akira's eyes, but she was looking at the ground, Robert took that to be a bad sign, "Look, I'm sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable, it's just... I never had any reason to say anything like that to anyone, not until I met you..."

Akira smiled up at him. "I am not uncomfortable, I am just, not used to it." She said. "Rather, I am flattered." She said, her blush darkening to a dark crimson color. She still kind of wished she had meet him sooner though.

Robert smiled widely, "Really?" he asked, "Then good... that's what I was trying to do... what's your next class, anyway?"

"What math?" Robert said, "Trig, Algebra 2, Geometry, or Algebra?" Robert was a little surprised, as he had Trigonometry next

"Me too..." he looked at her schedule, and he noticed that, save for the last class of the day, her schedule was identical to his own, "Are you stalking me?" he said with a joking face

Akira blushed darkly. "I kind of like that we have the same classes. It means I have someone to talk to while the rest of the class ignores me." She said.

"Yeah... not many people talk to me, either, unless they need my help... it's too bad that not many people can actually talk about what's really on their mind... I think this is going to be an interesting year."

Akira smiled and nodded. "That would be certainly interesting if they all spoke there minds. We would have a lot less conflict, or more." She said.

"I think that at first, there would be a lot more conflict, but eventually, everyone would realize that their thoughts are exactly the same as everyone else... Most people don't even realize the futility of their own silence."

Akira nodded, agreeing with him. "Yeah, I think.. Then there would be a lot of things that would change by just getting down to what you think."

"For one thing, things would be much simpler... and people that loved each other would simply be together... they wouldn't have to jump through hoops to see if the other was interested."

Akira sighed. "Well I would have some choice words for a few people." She said, her face turning a darker color of pink.

"Like what?" Robert asked, he noticed Akira blushing, but he thought it was still from the last conversation, and he was genuinely interested in what Akira had to say.

Akira coughed. "Well, I ah, can't think of any right now." She said, her mind for some odd reason holding back on her tongue. She liked him right? Then why did she hesitate?

"Well... if they're choice words, they seem to slip from you mind rather easily, " he chuckled for a moment, "but hey, that's okay, I forget things, too... often."

Akira smiled, a blush still on her face. "Yeah, they do. But as you have seen, I can be a bit spacey."

"Anyone that actually thinks gets spacey... I've noticed..." Suddenly, Robert felt the strange urge to kiss Akira, it hit him so suddenly and powerfully, that Robert actually stumbled a little, and nearly fell on his face.

Akira looked at him, bracing him with one of her arms. "Woa, are you ok?" She asked, looking up at him.
