Soon a healer came in and started tending to Callum, while he held onto Emmalia's free hand and gave it a gentle squeeze every now and then. "Thank you, love."

"Don't mention it," Em said, kissing his cheek and holsing his hand in both of hers.

Callum smiled softly up at Emmalia. Soon, the healer did all she could before leaving, and Callum was feeling much better.

Em worried over Callum some more, then asked, "What do you want to do? Walk around a bit, stay here and relax, what?"

"Do you have a preference?" He asked quietly. "I would like to enjoy a meal out in the courtyard if you have no preference."

"I have no preference," Em said. They set up with the guards to have the meal in an enclosed courtyard so Em could wear her good to protect from the sun without being seen as suspicious.

Callum, as he ate, asked, "Love, why are you wearing the hood? I thought the sun didn't hurt you."

"Well, you know I had a lot of human blood recently. It's kind of weakened me to the sun...."

Em nodded. "Unfortunately so. Soon I'll be fixed again, though, don't worry!" She was clearly trying to cheer him up.

Callum raised an eyebrow, seeing her sudden cheeriness. "Is everything alright Emmalia?"

"Yeah. I just don't want you worrying," Em admitted.

Callum nodded slowly. "Don't worry love, soon we'll both be back to normal, like it never even happened."

Emmalia nodded quickly, hoping that was true. She was glad he seemed to think so.
