Fantasy Generic Fantasy RP (CLOSED)

Cameron nodded slowly. "I understand what you mean." He said, his hand subconsciously running along his forearm. "I'm sorry to bother you ma'am, I'll leave you be now."

"Cameron," Emmalia called. She didn't want him walking away just yet. "You're not a bother, and there's no reason to call me ma'am. I'm your sister-in-law." She took a few steps closer to him. "Is something wrong with your arm?"

Emmalia frowned and studied Cameron for a moment, then said, "Cameron. Is that really all it is? I will call the healer this minute for you. If you don't want the healer showing up, you had best show me." By her figuring, even if he didn't want her seeing it, it would still get treated.

Cameron stepped back a bit and exhaled heavily. "Emmalia I'm perfectly fine, don't worry." He said calmly. "I very much appreciate you being a sister to me."

Cameron looked at her oddly as if not expecting this answer. "You...? Nevermind, I'm fine." He said and began to hustle away quickly. "Good day!"

Emmalia took a few quick steps forward, then grabbed his shoulder with one hand and wrapped her other around his waist and pulled him off his feet, then guided him gently to the ground. She grabbed his wrist and looked at his forearm.

Cameron yelped and tried his best to hide his arm, but he was much weaker than Emmalia and soon his forearm was visible, with various Celtic runes written on it. Cameron still tried to hide them though, although it was impossible for him.

Emmalia didn't want to show that she had no clue what the runes meant, but evidently they weren't good. Maybe she could get him to accidentally tell her what they meant. She growled a bit and said, "When did this happen?"

Cameron took a moment to try and collect himself, knowing he wouldn't he able to lie to her. "It was something my father did before throwing me into that cell. I didn't know what it did at first, but... After a couple days I figured it out. It keeps me alive. He got a northerner to cast the runes on me, so I would suffer longer down there. I'm not sure exactly how it works. I've been trying to scratch them off ever since I realized I wouldn't die from lack of food." He said, looking away.

Emmalia frowned, then let him go. "You shouldn't have kept this hidden, Cameron. We can try to find someone to remove them, if you like. Some may see having it as an advantage, but I can see why you wouldn't feel that way."

Cameron slowly got up and rubbed his sore arm, "I know I know, I just... Didn't want to bother anyone with it. I also didn't want to be judged for my decision to get rid of them, like you said it sounds odd to give up something that gives me life. But I don't need it anymore, and I find it unholy to have runes that change my lifespan. I am no god, and I don't intend to be one."

Emmalia nodded slowly, completely understanding him, because she wished she was mortal too. "Well, we can do our best to see about it being removed, but I make no promises."

"I just didn't want to alarm anyone,' He said to be clear. "I think I can fix this on my own, but I'll let you know if I need help." He spoke quietly.

Emmalia hesitated, then said, "Alright, but be careful when trying to get it removed. Especially when making deals for its removal."

"I know, I was going to travel north when I was well enough to try and figure out how to fix this. I'm sure someone there would know." Cameron said and began to scratch at it again.

Cameron thought about Emmalia's proposition for a bit. "Thank you, I'll let you know whatever I decide." He said. "Please keep this between us for now."
