Futuristic Gastrea Virus (zombie RP)

Cross was watching the bandit camp carefully. As of now he was in hearing distance and could hear the watchmen. "Did you hear that idiot man begging for his life. It was so funny." The second guard responded. "And the look on his face as we killed him was priceless." Cross had enough of these people. "I promise you that no one will laugh at you're death. In fact people will celebrate it." As the guards were about to sound the alarm they were both dragged away by Cross. He came back with blood on his sword and his pistol was ready. "I am the forgotten one. Remember my name because it will be the last thing you will know in death!"

"You are going to need one though." Celia said with a sigh. "I customize them enough so I can get through large hordes. You want to see it?" she asked as she took a garage key out and clicked a button on it. The third garage door opened and revealed a heavily armored vehicle that seemed really decked out. "You like? It was one of the rare ones that were not blown up in the revolts that broke out after humanity could not escape. Bullet proof glass, reinforced shell, even a machine gun on the side which is activated by a button on the drivers side. It can withstand going through a hoarde barely losing speed." she said with a smile

Soma shrugged and decided to let Luke decide if he wanted the vehicle or not. Though personally he figured it'd be a bigger hassle taking care of a car then it would walking. Looking at the the car Soma did have to give Celia credit for being able to salvage the thing. But he didn't say that aloud. "whatever, Luke im off to do maintenance on my suit. so after thats done i'll find you." Soma then turned and headed into the building. Rarely did anyone ever see what Soma looked like underneath his suit and he wanted to hopefully keep it that way... though he wasn't really trying to hide his looks either.

"Whoa....if it makes you feel better....I'm 4'10," Gale said putting her hands up in front of her, adding a nervous chuckle. "Besides, it was just a question, I wasn't mocking you." She then saw a few strands of hair flutter down. "Oh you did not just do that you bitch!" She exclaimed, "Do you know how hard it is to keep your hair like this in the middle of the fucking apocalypse! Jesus fucking christ on a fucking tricycle!" Despite the current situation of hell on "earth", she managed to keep her hair somewhat decent.

"Quite the beauty. I can't say for sure right now though. We don't exactly look to mow enemies down in style. We prefer to avoid it completely." Luke could traverse the entire city with ease. He was an expert free-runner. It was essential to getting to hurt teammates before they die. As a result, the only reason he'd use it is if they were surrounded or if he was too tired or injured to run. "How do you get around the infected?"

Celia laughed as she motioned to her suit. "Military grade ability enhancer suit." She said with a smile. "I can jump farther, run quicker, get tired less quickly, and most importantly......." She motioned toward her garages. "Almost all of those garages are filled with working or in construction vehicles. Plus I also make my own explosives, so the infected get distracted a lot...." An explosion was heard in the distance. "Yep..... they should be crowding around the fountain downtown."

Cross decided to flood the camp with infected. It was simple make a loud noise and they came in swarms. And lucky for Cross there was an unused intercom system. Hopefully loud enough to attract some infected. The intercom started up and Cross started speaking. "Hello you monsters. You must have had a lot of fun killing those innocent people. But now it's time for you to suffer the consequences!"

"Gahh.. Why the hell am I always finding myself in these situations..?" Raymond growled out to himself, his twin blades crossed in front of him in a narrow X shape as one of the undead forced his arms through the two horizontal angles, and its head through the uppermost portion. Then using his blades like scissors, Raymond forced them together to cleanly remove the head like it were on a guillotine. Two more undead lying unmoving at his feet, but four more closing in as they walked one by one into the narrow alley. "For fuck's sake, I was just chasing the god damn cat!" He lashed forward, blade in his right hand raised overhead to deliver what would be a fatal blow to the first undead in line.

----- (Before this unfortunate event) -----

"Damned undead.. I could be relaxing on a beach right about now if it weren't for them. Lying on the sand like I could care less about what's going to happen the next day." He spoke to himself before stuffing a marmalade topped cracker into his mouth. Letting out a small satisfied moan, he rose the can of preserved spread up to read over it's information again, between his ring finger and pinky was a stack of plain crackers kept together in plastic wrap. "I gotta find those guys again and see if they have more.." Chewing through the cracker before digging for another one in the bag.

Raymond would continue this routine of snacking as he walked down the street, peeking his head into windows for something of interest. "Whoops.. My bad.." Quickly pulling his face away from one of the windows as a rotten hand swiped across the remaining glass. Blinking in disbelief as he had a cracker half hanging out of his mouth, he reached up to grab the remains of the food before his eye brows furled as if he was angry. "Rude, attacking a currently defenseless survivor while he has food in his mouth.." The undead would just groan, crawling out of the window and landing face first to reveal that it was only the upper torso, with its hips and below nowhere to be found. "Ah, so its been a while since you've been able to eat, huh? Maybe you're hungry.." Raymond crouched and watched the upper torso crawl forward until it was just about to reach him. "Too bad, rude ass." Quickly rising to his feet and driving his heel into the skull of the undead in fromt of him. "Don't bother me when I'm eating next time.." Grumbling out his words as if there were a next time.

Then, before he could turn the corner, he heard a small (nearly inaudible) noise that made him freeze up completely. "Meow.." Raymond would turn his head to look at a thin, grey tabby cat, a stray most likely. He hated cats. Feared them, even. Enough that he had to hunt down every single living one left until they were extinct. He quickly but quietly closed the packaging of his crackers, resealing the can of marmalade and putting it into his bag. His mismatched amber and green eyes trained on the feline yellow pupils of the cat that was doing the same. Tiptoeing to the creature, his right hand would quietly go towards his blade and beginning to draw it as he got closer. The cat didn't move, not until it had heard the 'shiiing' of the blade being fully frawn from the sheath, where it then growled at Raymond and ran into the alleyway closest.

"Get back here, demon spawn!!" Raymond yelled, loud enough for anything down the street and the street across (@FireMaiden @Entarriance , the street across from you two, if you two don't mind me interrupting) to hear him loud and clear. Chasing the feline with sword raised above his head, he slashed at trash cans and discarded bags in the alley until the cat was cornered at the end of the alley. "Finally.. That's one less of you to deal with when this damned apocalypse is over.." Holding one blade above his head with two hands, prepared to stab the creature to death. The creature let out another meow before scaling the wall it had previously been trapped against, much to the dismay of the cat hunter. As physically agile as he liked to make himself feel, climbing walls was not his forte. He stared at the cat waiting at the top of the wall, staring Raymond down before letting out its final meow and jumping down the other side. "Mark my words.. Your head will be on the end of a pike one day.." He muttered before low growls emitted from a few meters behind him. Turning around quickly, Raymond would turn around and slice vertically upward, quickly cleaving the skull of the undead nearest to him.

"Oh, fuck me," Accidentally biting into his inner cheek, leaving a light metallic taste in his mouth from the small cut, "There usually isn't this many of you I have to fight in one day." The seven now and the three he had fought earlier, a new record in this small amount of time since he usually avoided them. Oh, and the half that had bothered him between his snack. "That's ten and a half of you today then.." Drawing his second blade with his left hand and holding it in the same underhand grip he had used earlier, with the blade following his forearm. So right was held like a regular blade, and left was underhand. The second undead approached, and Raymond rose his left hand upwards and towards the neck of the moving corpse. The blade held it in place, as his right hand came up to impale the skull through its rotting eye, giving him a clean shot to its brain. His blade burst from the other end, the brown blood pouring from either wound before Ray stepped backwards to give him some space. "Ah, well.. Guess I'll have to pay that cat back for putting me in this situation.."

----- (End of short story) -----

Raymond spun around with his left hand extended, digging his right heel into the dirt for balance as he swung the blade and aimed for the skull. He missed, instead sending the blade into the neck of the undead. The blade kept going, momentum bringing it further until it embed itself into the wall of the alley. It effectively held the undead in place for now, but it would leave Raymond vulnerable if he tried to take it out right now. Now fighting with just one blade, he parried the hand of the next approaching undead in place and jabbed right above its jaw. It crumpled into a pile at his feet, but there was still the two remaining to fight.

"Now, now, sweetheart, please. I'm sure I'd do the same if it were me."

"Are you that much of a preppy cheerleader, jackass?"

"Sweetheart."

"Uh.. where's Chess?"

While the group was bickering with one another, Go making an another attempt to rush at the girl with Jeson placing a foot firmly down at the end of the rope, causing him to trip forward instead. Xi cautiously took a step back, before realizing that Go managed to get up, despite Chess sole previosly being pressed against it. Looking left and right, his gaze finally set on the girl, awkawrdly rubbing his neck, unsure how to word his way out of the situation.

"... uh, well, Commanders gone."

Go would irritatedly let out a sigh, re-sheathing his weapon. Glaring harshly at Jeson to untie his feet, Jeson merely gave a cold smile, which appeared friendly, but something seemed awfully ominous about it as well. Untying his feet, Go stretched out his legs, seeing how he's able to move again, before glaring at the girl with an irritated look. When hasn't he been angry is the question.

"Look at what ya did, girly!"
"She had nothing to do with this, dear~"

"Uh, if you don't mind, we can try and find them...?"

Xi first brought his hand over to the wall, attempting to pry away the shovel that pinned down his jacket, before realizing that it was gone. Grasping at the empty air, he took a few steps away, seeing how the shovel seemed to have disappeared along with their leader.

"Get back here, demon spawn!!"

Chess anxiously spun their head around, ignoring the bickering between their team members and the newcomer, Viper. Pushing their foot away frm Go's head, he didn't seem to notice, as he simply shouted from the ground, and Chess tore the shovel effortlessly from the wall. Leaving the alleyway without the rest of their group, Chess went to inspect where the noise was, quietly camoflauging with the monochrome hues that surrounded them among the building. There was nothing that they could see, but there was a low grumble that they could pick up. It was faint, though they could hear it, almost like an angered beast. With Xi's shovel in their grasp, they quietly made their way towards the noise, before hearing the sound of metal against flesh. Or, whatever it was.

"...?"

Resting their back against the wall, they looked over the corner, seeing the young man from earlier. He seemed to be up against 3, or what was 3, one pinned against the wall with another one of his blades. If he were to take it now, it would have left him vulnerable, and who knows whether or not the one pinned down was even fully dead? Nonetheless, he was probably well capable of taking care of the 3 of them by himself...

... but what was the fun in that?

Chess' foot squeaked against the ground as they shot forward, gaining the attention of the two that still occupied themselves in front of the man. But before they could react in time, the side of the shovel slammed hard across the neck of one, enough strength to at least embed itself deep into it's flesh, but seemingly not enough (or not sharp enough) to cut all the way through. But using that, Chess quickly sent the handle of the shovel downwards, causing the muscle to tear with an unpleasant
rip, prying the head off. Unfortunately for them, that was enough time for the undead to respond, scampering with a slouch towards her, a beastly growl comin from it. Chess only had so much time to move out of it, only managing to block themselves from the undead's face by separating their contact with a shovel. Though the creature didn't back down even with metal in it's face, backing away, starting to make a running leap towards them.

Fortunately, for Raymond, it was distracted from him at the time.

Gale glared at Go, "I have a name jackass," She spat. Her left shoulder clicked as she streched that arm. "Well, I guess we should go find... Chess was it? Wait a sec, you guys wouldn't happen to be a part of the Checkerboard Syndicate would you?" She asked with a cocked eyebrow. "Cause that name seems a bit familiar."

Sera Lightbane

Sera had decided to do something that was, admittedly, a very dumb choice. And that was to raid a hospital for medical supplies, Mercy West being the name of it. Going in was easy, sure there were a few zombies but she dispatched of those fairly easily. The hard part was exiting, as it had seemed they were drawn to all of her shooting. Sure she could kill them, but that was the hard part. Luckily along the way she'd met Nikki who was also looking for medical supplies. Currently they were holed out in a surgical ward, waiting for at-least some of the hoard to thin out. "
I think it's quitened down a bit. Ready to bust out of here?" She asked, turning to Nikki.

Cross had ran as fast as he could. The bandits were being slaughtered by the infected. To Cross this was amusing they were gloating about how they could hold off any infected. Just as Cross got to safety he noticed a group of people and a sniper. He hid hoping they couldn't see him,

Witht the undead pinned to the wall, Raymond stabbed his second blade into its skull; figure going limp against the wall until both the blades were pulled away from the flesh. It crumpled to the floor, following suit as the undead prior. He had only been given that time because of the newcomer who had been recently introduced into the fight. He spotted one of the two undead upon the ground, head severed from its torso with a jagged cut unlike the clean separations caused by his blades. He spotted the undead jumping forward towards the female, and instinctively threw his blades with a keen accuracy. As the undead came mere feet away from the female on the other end of the alley, one of the blades embed itself in the neck of the pouncing undead, effectively severing the connection the brain and the limbs. The second blade embed itself in the wall beside Chess, giving her a split second to finish off the weakened undead.

Sera nodded and stood up, shifting her sniper rifle and medic bag on her shoulder. "
I have something of a camp near here, yea. Pretty close actually. Has plenty of food and drink too." She told her. "Anyway, stay close alright? We have a bit of a run ahead of us." She added. With that she moved to basically kick the door down, knocking a zombie down in the process, and summarilly shooting it in the face. Of course his friends were close by though. "Come on let's go!" She shouted as she broke into a sprint down the halls towards the stairs.

The face of all of them would seem to stiffen at the oh so familiar name they derived their very own "names" from. Xi and Go would look at each other, unsure how to respond to it. However, Jeson would laugh, roughly running his hand through his hair. With a hand on his hip, he leaned down to the girls height, a charming grin on his face. Except the "princely smile" of his would appear much more ominous when he spoke.

"Well, these zombies were all people at some point, you know? People with lives and lived as individuals. By killing them, doesn't that make all of us murderers to some extent?"

Without directly even answering her question, he straightened himself out, before looking off to Go and Xi, who were exchanging glances with one another. Flicking his hand outwards towards the alleyway, his usual demanor had returned.

"Alright, lovelies, no time to be standing around? Chess tends to stray pretty far, they are a dreamer after all."

Without answering the girl's question either, Go would simply spit crudely in her direction, while Xi would seem to rapidly gesticulate some sort of apology to her, before chasing Go, angrily stomping away. But of course, the whole idea that someone managed to recognize at least one of them was already, surprising. While the Checkerboard Syndicate had mainly disbanded to do the apocalypse, it's members splitting and disappearing, Chess wasn't exactly a well-known face. Though they were a pretty well-known name, a title typically tossed around with their rather, negative reputation. Xi had previously hoped that they could get along without tension between them, but with Jeson's ambigious response, maybe it wasn't as easy as it seemed.

Gripping the blade that had firmly set itself into the wall, they tore it out, numerous stones scattering where it was removed and pattering onto the ground. Using the momentum of their pull, they manuevered the sword onto the weakened creature's body, allowing it to stick into the creature's head, a clean allotment from the well sharpened blade. Grabbing the blade that had stuck from it's neck, the young man having thrown it directly at the creature, Chess quickly crossed both blades against each other, a sharp "X" and uncomfortably grinding flesh among the undead ringing out as the area from it's shoulders upwards was violently torn apart, the blades being ripped from it's body in such a violent manner. With an empty "thud", Chess brought their gaze up towards the man that they had cooperared with.

"... Chess."

Funnily enough, it appeared that neither of them had properly introduced themselves. Chess wasn't very, sociable to say. But at least they could spit out their name. At least, what they go by. Combatively throwing both blades at Raymond, as usual with their fashion of aiming, it would appear to be going straight at the man. But the blades, affected by gravity's pull, neatly landed into the pavement in front of him, clattering against the ground. Chess didn't appear to leave straight away, but instead, stuffed both of their hands into their pockets, as if waiting for something.

"... demon spawn..?"

"Imma just take that as a yes, and drop it," Gale muttered. Then looked Jeson in the eyes, "I don't care how princely you think you are, I'll punch you if you think leaning down is a god idea," She warned, fixing her gun, but felt her arm click again. Raising her other arm, she reached over her left shoulder, and felt where her prosthetic met her body. One of the screws was loose. Damn it, she thought, doing her best to make sure that it would stay in until she could fix it. "So, one other question. You guys hear anything about a military base in this sector?"

Ray crossed his arms over his chest, watching the female fight with both a surprised and an interested glance. His amusement peeking as she used a similar move he had, with the blades crossing in the form of an X. His mismatched eyes eyed her curiously as he walked the few paces forward to retrieve his two blades. Bloodstained, with the red liquid collecting dirt, he walked towards the ragged cloths of the undead and began cleaning the steel against the corpses.

"Chess? The board game? Sure, if you've got a complete set." When the blades looked shiny, although a bit hard to tell in the shadows of the alley, he stood up and sheathed them in their plain leather scabbards. His lips curled into a grin and his right hand flew to the back of his head, scratching his hair as he instantly regretted the failed attempt of a joke. "Just kidding. Chess is your name, right?" Raymond walked to the end of the alley, in front of Chess, and offered a hand. Usually a male offering a handshake to a female was unorthodox and rude, especially since his hand looked loose and carefree. "Raymond." Introduction similar to hers, he then remembered her latter question. "Ah, yes, demon spawn. You didn't happen to walk past a grey tabby, did you?"

Gale looked at the man, "You're...one of those experimental soldiers aren't you?" She asked, although, unlike when first encountering the group of hot tempered boys and Chess, she had her guard up.

"Sure."

Shrugging his shoulders, Jeson made his way out of the alleyway, following the rest of his scampering group. A cat leaped in front of them, staring at them for a second, before continuing, appearing as if it were fleeing from something. But hey, we're all fleeing from something in this time era. Jeson shoved his hands in his pockets, trying to think of if he remembered anything about a military base. He was pretty good with remembering things, and he's come across quite a few places while on dates, though nothing like a military base.

"Sorry, love, don't think, I remember a military base."
"Isn't there something like that near the end of town?"

"Shouldn't we find Chief first, before we get our fuckin' heads blown.."

"Starting with you, yes."

Making light banter, Xi pointed in the direction, he, vaguely believed that it was in? Of course, he never really had any purpose to go there in the city, so there was no actual point in him knowing about it. Though with the people that he's known, he's heard a few things here and there about where it is. It wasn't like he was sure of the answer either.

"Why? If it's a military base-"

"I do believe I've heard about this military base once or twice."

"The enemy!!!

There was the audible noise of metal being unsheathed, before Go would surge forward, both hands tightly around it's hilt. Though his purpose wasn't to slash, but rather, the blade setting itself dangerously close to the man's neck (he can react, dodge, etc) if he were to stay still. Go was a very well-built young man with an expertise for fighting, though his instinct worked faster than his own brain, unfortunately.

"... people really love surprising us today..."

Curiously oblivious to the joke, as it swung high over their head for a second, Chess tilted their head to the side in question. Though with a smile, he quickly seemed tor recover himself from the bad joke.

"Just kidding. Chess is your name, right?"

Nodding their head, he walked over to where they stood extending their hand.

"Raymond."

Chess glared with hostility at the hand, as if debating whether or not thsi could be a trick. Their guard seemed to always be up, and Chess always held a sort of paranoia about the world about them, always taking the worst case scenario into consideration. Perhaps the moment that they shook hands, he could use this opportunity to slash at them while their guard could be down? That's why Chess hands should stay out near their holster, so maybe they have enough time to shoot at them before full impact... or maybe he holds enough strength to toss them into a wall, shattering their skull? Raymond was taller and impressively built himself... but maybe he was just... giving a handshake..? They cautiously brought their hand out to meet his, quickly accepting his open-hearted greeting.

"Ah, yes, demon spawn. You didn't happen to walk past a grey tabby, did you?"

"You don't like cats...? Unfortunately, no, sorry."

Quick to let go of his hand, Chess looked back towards the outside of the alleyway. Their group was back there, but the more people that they approached, the more Chess felt that there was a high standard set for how anxious and cautious they should be around others, enough that simply being surprised could be enough to shoot someone straight on the spot. Raymond's seeming disliking of cats remainded them a lot of Go, who held such a hatred for rats it was enough to nearly rat out the entire Syndicate in order to call an exterminator, and it was a pleasant feeling of nostalgia. A stiffended expression would seem to soften a little with the familiar aura, and they rested their chin in between their index finger and thumb.

"I'll be sure to inform you if I find any."

(open-ended so you can throw w h a t e v e r action next, chess'll just go with it)

"Hey! Redhead! I wouldn't do that if I were!" Gale said, "That guy isn't a normal solider, he could kill you and you wouldn't even see it coming," She said with a sigh. She didn't move from her spot, though, she was already calculating the best possible ways to end a possible fight quickly.

Cross knew what started as a secret soon became common knowledge due to the incident when the infection first broke. "You are correct. I just didn't come out as nicely as the others. As for you, listen to the girl. If I was hostile you all would be dead. I'm only here because I'm looking for someone that goes by the name of The last Swordsman."
