Gallows

Raven continues looking over the edge, letting a small scream leave her lips as he scares her. She turns to him, looking at him, "What?" She says to him rather rudely, before turning back to look over the edge of the ship. She glances at him and then looks away, focusing the the beautiful skies. She was tired of being on the ship, she just wanted to return home, not that she'd say anything. She touches her wounded arm and sighs as it stings. She shakes her head and looks at him again.

"You looked easy to scare." He says simply and shrugs his shoulders, before leaning on the wooden barrier that separated them from the sky. He lets his arms dangle over the sides, but as a flock of space birds (in comparison to normal earth birds, quite normal, just space oriented) flew past, he quickly drew his gun and pointed it at the leader of their V shaped flying positions. A smirk plays on his lips as he pulls the trigger, and when he hits his target and it falls from the sky, he grins and bangs the wood of the barrier. It was like a game to him. "Yes!"

Raven stares at him in disgust, "the bird, did not deserve that." She comments looking at him before turning away, she sighs and leans over the side slightly. She admired how pretty it look below them. She sighs and then pauses, "I want to go home." She says to him looking around. She climbs and sits on the edge, holding onto a rope.

"You can't. Not until I know for sure. If my sister is alive, I will trade you for her. If she isn't, then, well. You know what happens then." He says slowly, watching her carefully. An easy way to die on one of these ships was to fall to your death from the edge of the ship, considering how far up they were. He didn't want his leverage to die before he even knew if she was useful.

Raven sighs and swings her legs slightly. She stands on the ledge turning to him, "It would be such a shame if I fell." She says to him, holding the rope tighter. She jumps wobbling slightly and laughing to herself, "Oops." She says quietly as one foot nearly slips again. She smirks and then quietly start to hum, letting go of the rope and standing on the ledge without holding on.

Gio looks up at her and widens his eyes slightly. Was she going to do what he feared? If she couldn't go home this moment would she kill herself instead? Would she rather die at her own hands rather than the pirates? He looks up at her, his hands ready at a moments notice, but what would be the point of saving her life if she did jump? He furrows his eyebrows and clenches his fists. "Get down, Raven." It was the first time he had referred to her as a person, but he didn't want her to jump.

Raven chuckles and turns to him, "No, I like it up here, it really makes you think about how high we are." She giggles jumping up and down again before grabbing the rope and slipping, "Now, should I let go or should I climb back up?" She says to him, hanging over the edge only holding on by her hand. She chuckles again waiting for him to speak. She continues to hum quietly.

Gio abandons his 'hard-faced' pirate look, and a look of worry comes onto his face. He doesn't let her make a decision, instead grabs her hand and begins to pull her back up. It wasn't for leverage, even if he thought it was, it was because he couldn't just let her die. Though he wouldn't tell anyone else that, ever. He pulls her over the edge and onto the floor, falling backwards onto it himself due to the pulling. Now sat on the floor, he looked at her and narrowed his eyes.

Raven laughs landing beside him on the floor, "Well someone didn't want to see me fall." She says with a giggle, she looks at him a raised an eyebrow, "God, don't be mad, maybe this place is turning be loopy." She says bringing a hand through her hair and grinning, she felt happier for once, still angry but a little more relaxed.

He stands up and brushes himself off, before crossing his arms across his chest. He didn't say anything for a moment, and continued not to say anything as he leaned down and grabbed her arm roughly, pulling her to her feet. He drags her inside, through the engine room and up to the ladder. "Up." He commands her, taking his gun out of his pocket and aiming it at her. "Now."

Raven winces and sighs, "Someone is a bit touchy." She mutters looking at him and she raises an eyebrow. She mutters something under her breath before facing the ladder, "Is this your way of punishing me for taunting you? It's hardly my fault if I feel that killing myself would be more honourable than letting you do it later." She says twisting around and facing him fully.

"Get. Up." He says, removing the safety off his gun with a small click to show that, if he pulled the trigger now, it would mean serious business. "Before I force you up." He thought maybe it would be more convenient to install stairs at a later date if he wanted to force people up there. It was much easier to force someone up the stairs than up a ladder.

Raven shook her head and laughs quietly, "Giovanni, the gun does not scare me. You can't kill me, that much I understand. You wouldn't of stopped me from letting go if you could." She says quietly, watching him take the safety from the gun. She rolls her eyes, "Don't be a drama queen, I'm only telling you the truth, I'd prefer to kill myself than let you kill me." She says adding emphasis on the word 'you' as if indicting that he should take it personally.

"Just because I won't kill you doesn't mean I can't. It also doesn't mean I won't or can't hurt you." He says, and putting the safety back on his gun, he furrows his eyebrows, before using the end of it to hit her over the head, hard. Hard enough to knock her unconscious. If she wouldn't go up the ladder on her own, then the only way he would be able to get her up was with force, and considering he didn't want to shoot her yet, he'd have to take her up on his own. He reaches out and catches her before she falls, before throwing her over his shoulder so that her feet were facing forwards with him, he begins to climb up the ladder, and when he gets to the top he walks into the captains quarters, shutting the door behind him. He lets her fall from his shoulders onto the floor, before handcuffing her to a pole that reached from floor to ceiling of his room. She couldn't jump to her death in here, and this way, he could keep an eye on her.

Raven stares at him and then yelps as a pierces pain spreads through her head. She goes to touch her head after he hit it but everything went black, just before she falls unconscious she feels him lift her.

She awakes awhile after and lets out a frustrated scream, "Giovanna, I swear to god, you little scum." She says angrily, she wipes her face with her free arm and pulling at the handcuffed one, "Damn you," she says.

Gio had been in his bathroom, it was small and grubby and only had a toilet and a small shower that only really let out cold water. When he heard her call out, he turned off the water of the shower and quickly dried off, putting on his dark trousers and walking out of the room. He rubbed his hair with a towel, and looked at her, shirtless and with furrowed eyebrows. "Scum? Suit yourself." He says, shrugging as he walks over to his pair of boots which were laying discarded on the floor near her. He leans down and pulls them on, fastening them up slowly.

Raven looks at him, focusing on his face, "So what? Your going to keep me locked here until you can even kill me." She says to him as he puts his boot on. She pulls the handcuffs, groaning as se knows she is stuck there.

"Pretty much, yeah." He says, smirking at her and standing up straight, he looks down at her and puts his hands on his hips, before grabbing a faded shirt from the floor and pulling it on, buttoning it up. "But let's hope it doesn't come to that, for my sisters sake and yours. I don't actually want to kill you." He shrugs his shoulders and finishes putting on his shirt, then pulls on braces, attaching them to his trousers. He takes a seat on a chair in front of her, putting his hands on the arms of the chair, he leans forwards. "Tell me about your father."

Raven sighs and looks away from him, "He's a good man. He's caring and kind, and he loves with all his heart. He lost his wife, my mother, when she was taken by pirates, he's hated pirates ever since. He had plans for me to take the throne in two years, he was going to step down." She murmurs thinking about her father, "Though sometimes it seemed like he didn't care, he was just doing what he thought we best." She says quieter, looking at the floor.

"He ought to have known which ship took your mother. There ain't no use taking a pirate from the wrong ship because that ship is just gonna bite back." He explains. "Your dad shouldn't have taken my sister. And now, if she's dead, he's gonna lose you too... But..." He bites his lip, he didn't feel sad about causing a man to lose everything, because he had taken everything that he had loved. "You want to write to him?" He asks her, raising his eyebrows and standing up. He looked around the room for paper, he never really needed any considering he couldn't write or read. He turns back to her, "cos I can get paper from Ruben."

Raven sighs and nods looking away, "Yes please," she murmurs quietly thinking back to everything that happened, she let a tear fall, "She was my friend Giovanni, I didn't know anything like this would happen." She whispers, silently blaming herself for what happened. She wipes away her tears and looks away.

"You're not the one I have a problem with! You're just the only one who can... Who can do what needs to be done." He shrugs his shoulders, before walking out of the room to find Ruben. When he did, he made him get him some paper and a quill, with ink, and when he had those in his hands he walked back to his room. He puts the paper on a table in his room, shutting and locking the door behind him, before walking over and unlocking her handcuff. "Go, write." He says, leaning against the pole. "And uh... Did my sister ever talk about me?"

Raven stands and rubs her wrist before standing and moving the table. She sits and holds the quill in her hand, she starts to write, 'Father, I wish for you not to worry, I will be fine. Though I just hope that the girl was left unharmed, my life depends on it. And if the girl passed long before, you should know that I love you, you should leave the pirates alone and find a new heir.' She writes before smiling at the words and then looking at him, "Oh, she did, she looks up to you. You were her role model." She says quietly.

Gio smiles a little, his hands inside his pockets playing with the watch that held the secret picture. He wished his sister was still here with him, and he hoped more than anything that she was alive. "I'd trade myself for her, you know. I know I'm more fit to be a captain and they'll listen to me more but... She's my sister." He rambles to no one in particular. He takes the watch out of his pocket and opens it. "I would hang for her." He confirms, looking at the picture in the watch. He looked more like his father, the same dark hair, but his sister was much more like their mother, fair hair and pale skin. They were very different.
