A short while into her walk, she's not really sure how long, Emeli grew tired, and she didn't really feel like walking any more. She slinked down the wall of the hallway, landing lighting before bringing her knees to her chest, trying to control her breathing. She nodded to a guy walking by who didn't really seem to care, and kept walking on his way. Emeli tucked her head between her knees, maybe I can just transfer rooms, we don't share any classes, it's not like we'll see each other.

Amy continues her search for her roommate. She passes and nod to the same guy as she turns a corner and rushes down the hall, looking down every corridor in search for her. She eventually finds her. "Hey," Amy says, smiling.

Emeli looks up at Amy before dropping her head again, waiting for the mean comments to begin flowing. It's OK she told herself, it can't be that different than what her parents say, so she should be used to it.

Any sit next to Emeli and smile. "Why would you ever think that I, the girl with no one to love, would ruin the one friendship I have, because of a stupid reason like you being gay?" She asks, giggling a little, and putting an arm around her.

Emeli looked up at Amy, seeing what seemed to be genuine honesty in her eyes. Emeli looked up and down the hall, and not seeing anyone, decided to stand up, letting Amy's hand slide away as she did so. Looking back at Amy she said, "You know I'm not trying to hit on you, right?" Emeli let out a deep sigh, ready to head back and forget about this situation. Emeli stuck her tongue out at Amy, "Now you have to tell me your secret." Emeli wiped her eyes and waited for Amy to get up so they could walk back together.

Amy stopped for a second, not truly wanting to tell her what happened. But she did. "Long ago, when I was only 10, I was raped by a man who called himself 'The Shark'. The cops never found the man. It was the second most horrifying time of my life. Ever sense, I've been afraid of both fake and real sharks alike, that is why I was so shaken up after the shark came into the table," Amy said, head down, tears running down her face as she remembers everything about that night; the smell of the man and the room, the pain she felt, the fear she had built up inside of her.

Emeli didn't know exactly what to do, so she stepped up to Amy and put her arms around her, hugging her for as much Amy's comfort as her own. She remained this way until Amy broke away.

Amy did eventually break away, standing as she did so. "Let's go back to the dorm," She said, blinking some years out of her eyes.

Emeli smiled, though she didn't say anything, figuring silence is the way to go here. She had an idea, but it would have to wait until later, when she's calmed down. For now, she just walked beside Amy to their room.

Amy nods, agreeing silently about the silence. When they get to the room, Amy sits on her bed, getting a little tired from the crying. "Anything else you want to know about me?" Amy asks, trying to make small talk.

"Hmm." Emeli ponders the question for a moment. "When's your birthday?" Emeli asked because she had an idea for a birthday present, one that almost no one else could give.

"Hmm, so that gives me what, three months to get your birthday present ready? It's doable I think." Emeli smiled wickedly as they approached their door. She stood to the side, looking towards Amy, well, I don't have my keys on me, I hope you remembered yours."

Amy nods. "Yeah, and I also remembered yours, just in case you wanted to go for a drive by yourself," Amy said and handed her her keys. She unlocks the door and sits on her bed.

Emeli looked to Amy and smiled, giving a genuine yawn. "Heh, I'm really tired, I dunno about you, but I think I'm ready for bed." Emeli laid down on her bed, pulling the covers over her, turning off her lamp, and turning to face the wall, ready to go to sleep, unsure of what the next day was going to bring.

Amy does the same, but feels a but unsafe, having remembered the horrible day when she was 10. "Emeli, do you think you can sleep in my bed tonight? Just as friends of course," Amy asks.

"I see, that's no problem," Emeli said, turning around and pushing her covers off. She heads over to Amy's bed and slips under the covers. She just needs some comfort. She's not going to hate you, she asked you do come to her bed. She's probably just scared. Emeli faced Amy and put her arm around her to comfort her while they slept.

Amy smiled as she felt Emeli enter the bed. "Thanks," Amy whispers, slowly falling asleep. After a few minutes, she does.

In the morning, Amy woke up and saw that Emeli was already gone. She yawned and got up, taking a quick shower and headed to the cafeteria with her laptop and backpack, ready for the day.

Having missed track last night, Emeli got up a little extra early so she can practice a little longer this morning. A few classes after practice and it was time for lunch. As usual, Emeli arrived at the cafeteria before almost anyone else and sat at one of the round tables, hoping to see Amy here shortly.

And she did, Amy entering a mere 2 minutes after, sitting in her usual spot. She looks over at Emeli smiling and waving. She opens her packed lunch she brought and starting eating and working on her laptop.

Emeli sees a Amy as she waves to her, so she picks up her things and goes through the lunch line to get lunch, coming out a minute later, going to sit across from Amy. As she approaches she asks, "Can I sit here?" Emeli smiles as she wants for a reply.

Before Emeli could even sit down she got a text. She looked down to her phone to see it's from Mary, and apparently it was urgent. Emeli looked up from her phone to Amy, and with a frown she said sorry and left in a hurry. Shortly after a man came up to Amy and sat next to her, putting his arm around her and acting friendly. He was the same boy that passed the two girls in the hallways the previous night, the night of their fiasco. He was a large Mexican man, a student at this college. He was a jock, though not for their lives star football team, he played hockey, and we're an appropriately matching jacket. "So, I see your friends with my friend Emeli, why don't we be friends too?" He said this in an almost sinister way, his voice carrying his arrogance. In truth, he does know Emeli, though they are not friends. He has pestered her since freshman year, trying to get her to go out with him to no avail. His name was Javier, and he wasn't known for playing nice, if you knew him.

Amy quickly slapped his arm away. "Shut up," Amy wanted to say any other person would do, but stayed silent, grinding her teeth together like gears in a factory. Does he really know Emeli? What does he even want with me? Amy had these thought racing through her mind at this time. She slightly shifted her body away from Javier. "Get away," She wanted to say so very badly, but didn't have the courage to say it. Why are my feet glued to the floor? Any thought, wanting to run away.
